McKren:
LOL I just heard that title on BBC News 24 (Mr. 10%)

Men someone needs that title in Nigeria
One very prominent King in Nigeria has already got that title long ago even before he became a king in the south west of Nigeria.

Coming back to benzair Bhutto son succeding her I think is only of the remaining daftness of the PPP which is just BHUTTO party.

I am sorry the Pakistanis are the first cousins of Nigerian on the international corruption lists.

The best argument one can make for them is that they are just honouring beeziar bhutto but the boy I think is propably being groomed for the future as when the PPP contest the next election another person will contest for the office of Prime minister.

I think they are still in mourning and shock state and just want the dynasty to continue.

As far as I am concern that is not democracy but 'monarchist' they are millions of well qualified people in that country but I hope and prayed that will not happen Nigeria.

Good luck to the Pakistanis

One more thing that I did not include which is now apparent.

The connections and jigsaws.

AGF was IBORI counsel (lawyer) fighting RIBADU on behalf of IBORI before Yar A'dull appoint Aoodonaka as AGF. so it is clear from the begining serious and very clear signal that by this sole appointment alone including that of Baba Gana Kingibe that Yar A'dull is a joke because you cannot appoint an high profile defence counsel to alledge fraudsters and corrupt politicians, it send the wrong signal and in any event there is potential conflict of interests.

And RIBADU even though is a policeman have no regard for the likes of OKIRO since he Ribadu is an insider who knows how the police works and know that his new boss like the 2 before him are corrupt. Infact only an idiot we not know how corrupt is the police in general.

NOW cast your mind back to when Yar A'dull first came to power and appoint this AGF, the first thing the usuless AGF did was to start talking about rule of law and due process and that EFCC will now report to his office before they can make any prosecution when the ACT establishing EFCC did not stipulate that.

Let me make it clear to you that I am a lawyer and fighting an establishment like the corrupt cabal in Nigeria require unconvential means like RIBADU is doing so all that nonesense about due process and rule of Law only plays into the hands of those executhieves. They know every law in the criminal code and how to get evidence inadmissible and then render all prosecution useless.

Can anyone tell me in the History of Nigeria when any Governor or IGP before EFCC with RIBADU determination got any big boy conviction. Not once. look even the convicted criminals make confession. DARIYE for example and declare their illegal gotten wealth.

Is is coincidence that all the Governors are running away immediatelty they lost their immunity on May 29th 2007 and now they are now returning once they knew that RIBADU has been sent to some 'funny school' to go and learn how to be a corrupt cops like BALOGUN, EHINDERO and OKIRO

You can fool most people most of the time but you can't fool everybody all the time,
Mr President  Yar A'dull. He tried first to put EFCC under AGF under the guise of due process or rule of law that failed so he has to come up with bogey school.

EFCC is an establishment under the ACT of parliament and He Yar A'dull has the power as the president to fire him or recommed that to National Assembly but he knew that he has nothing bad to say about RIBADU other than trying to cover his own Yar A'dull's back by making sure IBORI and the rest have good night sleep  with their ill gotten wealth.

EFCC is an independent organisation the fact that RIBADU is a policemen is a mistake. infact he should have been made to resign or something like that and be the chairman of EFCC and on finishing his terms can either elect to continue with the police force or do something else.

The latest that I am hearing because of the public outcry is that RIBADU is only going temporary for one year that he will be back at his desk or Yar A'dull will ask NASS to reconfirm his tenure as this was not done by OBJ the last time in April. He RIBADU is fighting people in the NASS they want to reconfirm him, even an idiot knows the answer to that.

In my opinion this Yar A'dull is a friend to the usual suspects of the people who destroy Nigeria. The unfortunate thing is that people in diaspora are now seriously thinking whether we are back in our old ways. Which I humbly submitt that the hand writing are on the walls. one mistake, a mistake two a coincidence, three a pattern.

NIGERIAN POLICE HAS NEVER CONVICT ANY MAJOR CRIMINALS IN NIGERIA ESPECIALLY CORRUPT POLITICIANS. HAS ANYBODY FORGOTTEN THAT POLICE ARE THE ONES THAT SUPPLY SOME ARMMED ROBBERS WEAPONS. NIGERIANS THINK AND SMELL RAT.

We are not fools so mr. Yar a'dull and cronies you can't fool us.

I care less if all the previous office holders in Nigeria are prosecuted because majority of them are very corrupt and i dare say that includes OBJ, IBB etc The evidence is everywhere.

Where do they all get millions and billions from, let them tell us in plain terms their income and it's sources and their salary.

No one for a minute thinks RIBADU is bigger than EFCC but because the guy is not compromised they cannot pin anything against him. He is like AKNIYULI who get job done and use the super arm of the law.

Did OBJ use Prof. Dora Akinyuli of NAFDAC also to do justice in a selective way against his political enemy to fight drug people?  we know how they put her life at risk and attempt to kill her.

Allah he dey as they say.
PoliticsRe: Igbinedion To Return? by vigasimple(m): 5:44pm On Dec 30, 2007
In a very funny way this is part of the failure of OBJ policies like leaders before him.

He OBJ has not been able to mentor some good people around to take over from him that his friendship with Yar A'dull family is the only criteria upon which he 'select' Umaru Yar' A'dull.

I have this nagging feeling that Yar A'dull is a very confused man to the point that all the thieves are now coming out.  You know that thieves usually come out at night, now these set of state robbers have the audacity to come out in the afternoon. Daylight robbery it is called.

With Governors and high profile politicians and the executhieves they know all the due process and rule of law loopholes and 'games' so anybody trying to catch them with those silly laws will waste eternity. Even the FBI and the CIA use extra judicial means to get the 'mafias'.

It is clear that it was the pressure put on Yar A'dull by IBORI and IGBINEDON are the primary reason for sending RIBADU to 'school'.  and I dare say that OKIRO has personal fear of TAFA BALOGUN type of fate might befall him in the hands of RIBADU.

To all executhieves welcome back to Nigeria and let the party begins and spend all hoared monies and party to eternity.

May all the people who are depriving Ordinary Nigerians of basic infrastructures fail to find peace.

babasin:
anyway, why are you guys killing yourselves, when ribadu is happy not to be probed to explain how he got his HOUSES + FOREIGN ACCOUNTS??
Only a a super fool like Babasin and BIG B1 etc does not know that RIBADU and EFCC has done what a thousand protest by ordinary Nigerians cannot do.

In the history of Nigeria, no organisation I dare say has succesfully investigated and prosecute and get a conviction of IG of police, Governors and even get them to confess.

More importantly put some element of fear in them. Can anyone imagine people like Alam( the governor general of ND) can be dealt with like a common criminal he is. IBORI and all the rest that have run away in hiding. In the past they will have being roaming the street like big boys.

These people have not let ordinary people have good food, light and sleep. They have murder sleep, they themselves will not have sleep.

Now in the last few days they willbe sleeping and snooring because Yar A'dull has signal business as usual.

Now, coming to the critics of EFCCand RIBADU.

1. Selective justice- Justice has always being selective, you cannot investigate and imprison everyone all at the sametime not that the others are not on the books. Secondly, EFCC and Ribadu are just investigating and prosecuting arms, they are not the court who trial them and found them guilty. VIVA to our Judiciary- is anyone suggesting to me and good Nigerians that they are also in connivince with RIBADU and selsctive justice. If the Accussed have nothing to answer for, they will not be in court nor will they be found guilty.

When senior High court judge refused bail(which is available routinely unless the evidence are damming and ther other factors like tamperring wit evidence and witness and risk of absonding etc, the accussed are struggling to have bail.) also Ribadu has gone north, south west , east to prosecute, he is not attcking yoruba, Ibo or hausa, you steal, you face the court.

NOT FOLLOWING DUE PROCESS OR RULE OF LAW.

look guys I am a Lawyer and there are carrer criminals like majority of our governors with deep pockets who can play the 'legal games' - adjourment, objections, filing of usesless motion and counter motion to delay the system.

A crafty situation need a super crafty solution otherwise EFCC and RIBADU effort will go in futilityand the Corrupt Executhieves will smile all the way at Nigerians.

If those brought before the court did not steal any money even simple openning up to assist the EFCC they will not be in court.

RIBADU IS CHASING OBJ ENEMIES.

That is another thief classic confusion tactics. Dis Ribadu or OBJ help them to steal the monies meant for their states and put it in Foreign bank account, did OBJ help them in laundring it.

I think we Nigerians better wake up and call a spade a spade.

Whoever takes what belongs to every Nigerians will surely pay for it, if people like RIBADU are allowed to do their job.

Infact I SUSPECT THAT OKIRO IS NEXT FOR RIBADU AND THAT IS WHY HE IS A HURRY TO GET RID OF HIM. remember he has already sent down one IGP Tafa balogun and there is no reason why he cannot get Ehindero and OKIRO so RIBADU is putting fears in the minds of the enemies of Nigeria.

If you remember the popular saying, my enemy enemy is my Friend. RIBADU and EFCC are Friends of Nigerians. Our true enermy are the looting governors etc.

RIBADU is to EFCC what Dora AKNIYULI is to NAFDAC. These two people are the modern day freedom fighters of Nigeria. They fight the enemies of progress in Nigeria. May it be well for them and their families. They will always find favour of the Lord. They have put their lives for the betterment off Nigerians.

Some stupid IGP, AGF and a dull President are now sabotaging Nigerians, it is everyday for the thief, one day is for the owner. The day of the owner is coming soon for IG, AGF and clueless Mr. president.

If ALAMS is welcomed like king after 'serving his sentence' despite looting his own people, what kind of signal is our brothers and sisters in the Niger Delta sending out to the whole nation.

Maybe it may not be such a bad idea if combination of None Niger deltans are use to formulate whatever development is required with the advice of local people rather than leave it to the Chiefs who are not interested in the ordinary people of ND.

Howsover we get the place develop should be the priority of the present government.

1. Electricity

2. Niger Delta

3. Transport network, as in Infrastrutures- Roads, Railways, Water Transports and Airports and safety.

4. Regional business Zones- we can use the 6 geo political zone as basis of the development.

We have the branins, the money, what we lack is the decisive POLITICAL WILL.

Mr. president Yar A'dull are you listen or someone should tell him after 7 months we need vision and his plan to give confidence to Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Fired! by vigasimple(m): 3:06am On Dec 28, 2007
I think that Yar A'dull is just another Shagari waiting to happen.

It is either the man is not an honest man or he is being manipulated. he may appear dull and humble but he is a politician and all he will be doing is political calculation.

My suspicion is that his brother's other friend ATIKU has given him condition before he withdrew his Tribunal petition is to get rid of RIBADU and he did by covering it up with some useless training that the people before RIBADU knows that they only learn how to loot the treasury of the Nigerian Police force there.

If anybody will also care to remember that this same Yar A'dull promised emergency on power. He has done 7months he still don't appear to know the meaning of emergency. They even thought of doing 9,000MW of electrity for N3 trillion naira instead of N1,125trillion naira inflated by well over 265%.

Quantifying prices this days is a piece of cake, you can go online and see prices of everything including the latest A380 Super jumbo jet or Boeing 787. our leaders are fools they take us for.

within 12 months by this time next year the man Yar A'dull and his cronies would have been fully exposed.

Until then we prayed for God to spare our lives to witness who among us is a fool, the politician or the people.
PoliticsRe: I Am Tired Of NEPA by vigasimple(m): 10:08pm On Dec 27, 2007
Unfortunately, SEUN got his sum wrong on this one.

Look the issue is power for everyone not inverter and generator which any daft person with money can get and we all make silly noise like we all live in an industrial area day and night. fumes, noise, petrol problem etc.

The solution the poster propably has in mind and the majority of nigerians is light everywhere without noise, fumes, polution, petrol or generator etc. like in other good countries of the world.

OUR GOVERNMENT  is the major problem THERE IS NO WILLPOWER. take for example El- Rufai in the FCT, he has a willpower in face of dangerous opposition, now aren't we all proud of what the capital city look like.

Now the issue so simple a 10 years old can understand and fix it. It is no more than buying your generator and put petrol in it and get it started, off you go.

Go to    www.nigeriansforsuperenergy.com  to see for yourself.

Let me restate in a simple manner.  we are a country of 140million people and

we would need at a good working level  50,000MW  50K (we currently have 3,000MW-3k) so just about 6% of what we need at a good working level we have presently (and sometimes in January 2007 it went down to just less than 3%) that is the problem, you cannot even light a candle from that.

Our major competitors or country that we can compare ourselves with- Brazil 188Million people- they have 90,000MW, S.Africa less than 50million people they have over 40,000MW so can you see the state of the problem

SOLUTIONS.

minimum 50,000 ( optimum level 75,000 (we can do less than 50,000MW with good energy conservation but GSM experience have taught us that it is not a good way to go).

GSM work on a limited basis (with all these network problem- for the fact that it is underestimated of the true required capacity) and because there are only 4 major players, if we have 25players like the banks the we would have a true market and competitive enviromnet.

COSTS:

$50BILLION

FUNDING:

GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP OVER 4 YEARS - THE NEW POWER COMPANIES WILL SIMPLY RUN ON A STRICT PRIVATE BUSINESS BASIS (AS IN A PLC)

AND ADDITIONAL 25,000MW OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS

FORMULA:

TO BUILD IN EVERY LOCAL GOVERNMENT 65Megawatt substation in the 774 local govt in Nigeria from hydro, Gas. coal, solar, wind, nuclear depending on the local available source nearest to each local authority.

OPPOSITION:

1. Business politicians

2. oil dealers

3. generator dealers

4. cabals  ( read Yar Adua comment via Olusegun Adeniyi PUNCH 9th December 2007)

5. chaos plc

6. anti-good Nigeria plc

7. Senior 419 group plc

Even with all this people, it is still more than doable but we have to put away politics and profits as in everything in Nigeria. Opportunist and selfish people are not needed.

olrotimi:
think it was the best for us, because without we would have devoured ourselves silly grin
Sometimes we all thought we are so barbaric that we will eat each other for dinner.

But the honest fact remains that nobody knows for sure what we may turn out to be without colonialism.

One thing I suspect is that we may either be much better or worse but definitely not the way we are.

Some indicator earlier on suggest that we may be worse off, like we never build quality infrastutures or maintain even those that are left by the colonial masters, all we wanted to do is to 'move in' to the old colonial masters house in IKOYI etc.

Examples of what we build after independence, Lagos-Ibadan Express road, oil refineries, Peugout assembly plant in Kaduna (not even trains to take them form the ports to kaduna anymore) etc  they have all gone down like rubbish.

The only conclusion one can draw from these set of eye strarring facts is that we are unable to doing things for ourselves not because we are incapable but unwilling for selfish reasons.

Maybe if the colonial masters haven't come we may have develop our own systems and ways of life and might have even copy countries like Japan (and it is a big maybe) and be a better country than we are now. Nobody knows or can tell.

Nonetheless colonialism is now irreversible fact of our country history, we have been colonised and may have still remain with some kolo mental and some very nicely fine tuned indeginous selfish and stupid mentality.

The future from here is what we should be looking forward to, we cannot change the past in terms of history but we ca do so in terms of result and decisions.

God we touch all hearts to be our brothers keepers and care and love for each others.
Omolulu:
Colonialism had it's positive and negative sides, for one it allowed us to know how bad the system was, secondly it introduced certain concepts which we are benefitting from immensely today:education, health, infrastructure, it gave us the idea that the world was more than just a system of family relationships and clans interacting with each other.the ushering of Christianity,to Christians was also a good side of colonialism.it brought about improved governmental systems and admin practices,
On the other hand,it provided the framework for modern bureaucratic corruption,as well as the actualization of imperialistic values(exploitation notably).i think the Negative sides of colonialism, which by far outweigh it's positive sides is best captured in Walter Rodney's classic "HOW EUROPE UNDERDEVELOPED AFRICA". it is a concise work of the systematic degradation of the African continent.
Nevertheless, everything in life has it's advantages and disadvantages, Colonialism has played an important role in Africa's development, whether we like it or not,
and i agree entirely with this.

PoliticsRe: Its Good To Know Nigeria Is Not The Most Corrupt Nation ! by vigasimple(m): 8:22pm On Dec 26, 2007
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Nigeria may well be a very corrupt country BUT definitely is NOT the most corrupt country. We have our challenges and mostly dated back to how the colonial masters have programm us and we have stupidly being unable to deprogramm ourselves and transform our mind and situation.

America is the most corrupt nation on earth without a shadow of a doubt. They dupe the whole world especially with military power and now as the only super power and make the dollar the international currency without any backing assets except that it is made in America. They can print more of the greenback and ship it to anybody who want it for their debt to be settled. Before we have the gold standard and at least you know there are assets backing your money. Now all you get is a piece of paper called Dollars diminshing in value fast.

They owe a lot of countries in the world huge amount of money and the debtor has now become the master because if they refuse to pay, there is nothing anybody can do or those country challenging the authority of the USA will become 'axis of evil' (whatever that means) as I am sure the speaker, one WG BUSH don't even know the meaning, it was a speech prepared for him and he read it and he was asking afterwards 'what is an axis' as he think evil is synonomus with anyone who doen't agree with America and therefore they must be AL-QAIDA and they need regime change because he thinks they have WMD because they have to make up some excuse.

See who got WMD (wilful malicious disinformation) WG BUSH himself and Chavez gave him the smell of his own medicine when he called him sulpuric smelling acid.

The other truth is that minority of the powerful people in Nigeria are simply playing the music note of some big powerful countries in the world. They call us bad name, we dance to it and revel in it, and they dump their goods here as we don't manufature any ourselves(part of the ploy- they made us believe that we are no good) and that is a great lie from the pit of hell.

Propaganda is part of war, and good ones with economic warfare and those guy are doing it very well. Even the so call 419 are so daft that their victims are even more stupid to want to reap where they do not sow. some millions of dollars in some stupid African country overnight. The thief and the receiver who is more culpable?

Nigeria is a great country and our brothers and sisters we should try and give it a good name further and shun crimes, 419 etc and let us put rubbish back in the face of the biggest 419 of the world AMERICA

God bless Nigeria and make her great.

WHAT ABOUT CHEATING WIVES, ARE THEY SUPPOSSED TO BE HANGED.

Until you find out why someone is cheating and look for ways to deal with it together there is no need to overreact because even the woman who has been cheated on can cheat herself and may have cheated but the fact that she has not been found out.

I and you know some prominent members of the nairaland that will do that without blinking and eyelid, infact it is a fashion in their community.

He who has never sin let him throw the first stone. comapssion is what we need until someone becomes unchangable we should try to help them whether a cheating husband or wife.

PoliticsRe: Fresh Plot To Remove Nuhu Ribadu by vigasimple(m): 2:08pm On Dec 25, 2007
I hope Yar Adua will not make this mistake because one of the goodwill both OBJ and him
Yar adua is enjoying is this EFCC and RIBADU that he may have miscalculated including his stupid and crime mind ridden AGF.

Infact the appointment of Baba Gana kingibe, Aoodanka (who has hold brief for so many of the Nigeria looting governors) are bad indications from the start.

It show how 'intelligent and sensitive' this Yar A'dull of a thing is. he has spent 1/8th of his term and has no emergency and clear plan on fixing electricity.

He may set aside or reverse a number of OBJ policy or sales of national assets but RIBADU and EFCC is a mistake if it is true what is being rumoured. You see, never in the history of Nigeria has people stop becoming untouchable because of RIBADU (thank God for a fearless man like him)

Facts, IG of Police convicted because of RIBADU and several governors, a sitting VP , and I dare say with time OBJ and other previous President will have to account. This is how a good man start things and fear will be put in the minds of the people of doing anything bad and dodgy.

Powerful as IBORI, ORJI KALU etc are , RIBADU is not taking prisoners, you do bad, you pay for it. take for examlple the amount alledged to have been found out(found out i say) to have been stolen by IBORI is 9billion NAIRA enough to do very many good things in his state. as the proverb says 'man no get anywhere to sleep dogs is snoring in a 5 star hotel beds'. imagine a governor having private Jet from his 'grandfathers investment' in Delta State.

Yar Adua days will be numbered once RIBADU is going whether or not to some funny policy college. If RIBADU can get IGP convicted infact i dare say that he doesn't  no stupid policy 20naira note college.

All the balogun, Ehindero and people before him that went there what do they study, how to defraud the nation. Enough said but if someone can talk to Hajia Turai Yar Adua to have a quiet late night nice word with her husband before he committ political suicide because he yar Adua will be surprised how the people who are calling hossanah will be the next in line to ask him to be crucified.

Once Ribadu is gone, it will be business as usual for thieves and the world we see us as comedians who have no tangible thing to do and business and investments confidence will dip, people like Atiku etc will have a field day.
PoliticsRe: How Corrupt Is The Efcc? by vigasimple(m): 1:25pm On Dec 25, 2007
To the Poster,

I have few observations.

1. Not everybody in the EFCC will do what they are suppossed to do and therefore like Judas among the 12 disciples of Jesus christ, there would be Judas Iscariot among EFCC.

me, personally no matter what anybody says that EFCC is a generally good organisation with majority good people obviosly there will be some few exceptional bad people.

I will suggest you write to RIBADU and complain of people who are going to soil the good names of EFCC especially case of missing files which may be indications of dodgy operatives. And tell him RIBADU that you will copy all the Newsmedia if he did not get to the root of the matter.

TO EVERYBODY ELSE.

Even this start as a employer-employee relationship, it actually shows the gradual rape and defrauding of the nation so it has public interest element to it so it is not just that about the guy pay or lack of it. The company is simply a Fraud vehicle to defraud both the water board, Nigeria govt and the world bank and say about we Africans we can run anything without massive fraud.

TO KOBOJUNKIE AND AFAM

I agree fully with Kobojunkie, NEPA and Power in Nigeria is so simple that a 10 year old can fix it. The reason we are having problem is that there are well established interest group who are sabotaging what will benefit the majority of Nigerians. One of them, the cabals was recoginsed by Yar Adua- read PUNCH of 9th December 2007. and in my research there are many more including politicians themselves.

Only a dum person will say Power problem is so complicated rather than the people who doesn't want it to work. Look at it from this way, You get your generator and put petrol, does it work or not. That is how simple electricity generation is.

Every Fraud on Nigeria affects the quality of our lives so we should start mind transformation within and not compromise or say that it is how it work in Nigeria, and that we can do nothing about it.

At minimum we should continue to condem evil doers and report to as many people as possible. Take for example there will be internal investigators at EFCC (like CID within CID) so that bad eggs among them can be floush out.

FINALLY ON THE QUESTION WHETHER EFCC IS CORRUPT I DON'T AGREE WITH THE POSTER, THERE ARE IS VERY LIMITED EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT THEY ARE CORRUPT BUT WE SHOULD KEEP OUR EYES OPEN SO THAT THEY DON'T BECOME CORRUPT. THERE ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE FEW BAD EGGS.

Afam:
Why do we keep talking about 50,000MW of electricity when a little energy conservation strategy could reduce this to less than 25,000MW which is easier to generate?
Afam, I am very sorry that the condition that makes cray fish bend has got into everyone that managing has become the order of the day. Lack of foresight and true needs(remember the GSM people), and forward planning has got the GSM in a mess, your 25,000mw conservation startegy MAY just get us in similar position.

In any event, reality is what we should always think about so that our children we know we are able to peep into the future, that we have vision and foresight.

let me give you another example, Lagos-Ibadan express road was built 30 years ago and because of lack of forward planning it is now a death express road. It is obvious that we need at least 3-4 express road entering lagos. the same is South south and south east coming to Lagos as in Benin-Ore road.

I refer you back to the opic of the thread- Intellectual shallowness of our leaders. Do we want to continue? i in my own opinion thought not.

RomanceRe: What does a woman wants from a man by vigasimple(m): 3:43pm On Dec 24, 2007
I hate to disappoint the poster.

Women in general don't know what they want. They want so much that they want everything and give little back. Even the little they give back they start to see it as if they are doing a lot of the whole world for you and sing about it loudly.

In any event, their wants change according to their age, status and position in life. They are constantly comaparing and looking on their shoulder for greener pasture.

Majority of them will not admit it, but your sister and most certaily your mother will tell you the truth that most times the womenfolks just go through different mood changes that they may want 10 different things within 10 minutes.

In a nutshell their wants is contradictory and paradoxical. But that is what makes them to be wo-mAN, WOO UNTO MAN.

If you a man is able to find out what they really really want (as oppossed to the not really want) they will do anything for you. The day you fail, just once or twice, make sure your wills are ready and pay the funeral directors as you may be lucky to be nagged to death.

Women themselves don't know what they want, so stop bothering about what they want, just ask them on daily or hourly basis, you will soon get my drift.

Now that i think that is what this administration is trying to reverse in disgusie and saying that ministers must attend official occassion in similar cars.(whether or not we are being deceived as all 'fingers' ministers are not equal in their finances, status, positon and connections. They all have Jeeps and Hummers.etc

The honest truth is that people in goverment are intellectually bankrupt deliberatly. They are intelligent when they are going to line their pockets but they act stupid when it comes to the nation urgent matter.

Take for example, President Yar A'dull who during his election campaign way back before May 29 said that he will declare Emergency on Power(energy/electricity). It is now 7 months and the guy seems he must have graduated from a glorified technical college called university not to know what emergency means and 7 months after in office there is no emergency. That is dishonesty and intellectual bankruptcy. Infact that is Fraud as in 419. He and his PDP has deceived the people like OBJ before him to get elected.

Think about it, his brother's friend OBJ spend 8 years and wasted billions and cannot fixed electricity. Shame on you PDP NO POWER

Even me that I am not an Electrical engineer will fix elctricity within a year because once you set the vision, draw the plan, provide the expert it will just run on auto pilot. It is like flying an aircraft. A pilot will tell you that other than take off, landing, adjsuting to turbulence, it is flying on cruise control once the aircraft reach usual altitude of 33,000ft.

Anything complicated is dodgy.

I will start the ground running by locking all expert in hotel for a month like a jury and they must come out with futuristic plan otherwise they are not going home or party.

I  know that we need 50,000 megawatt of power which will cost $50 billion dollars.

if we take a 4 years rule, we should build 12,500 each year costing $12.5billion per year and giving us 6 hours full power supply in the first year.

2nd year  another $12.5B to do another 12,500Mw then 12 hours full supply

3rd year another 12,500Mw then 18 hours full power supply

4th year, another  12,500mw then full power supply for 24 hours.

In the next further 10 years to build another 2500mw per year to add another 25,000 to account for future growth of 50% over 10 years. Infact as at today, the optimum level required is about 70-75000mw but 50,000mw will serve us very well. as power becomes stable, there will be rapid increase in industrial growth.

That is what i called vision and intellect not dummy power drunk half baked illiterates called graduates. look, these guys are just toying with the future of Nigerians.

Light is one area of our lives that we cannot and refused to play politics or profits(as in individual profiterring) with.

I think you guys should visit    www.nigeriansforsuperenergy.com and see for yourselves what a wonderful work by Joseph Inyang

God bless Nigeria.

I think this gentleman call BIG B1 you clearly need deliverance.

IBB and people before him including OBJ and i dare say Yar A'dull are all same member of
Anti Good Nigeria PLC.

IBB is a catastophic failure. If he can't tell us now and admit his failures , apologise for it and tell us how is going to fix things like electricity may thunder strike his mouth and those similar people like him.

Bad as OBJ maybe, the problem of electricity predates him and IBB and for he IBB to even be talking about how bad PDP (simply because he was denied ticket to contest as President under their platform) shows he is a bloody opportunist

Why did he not join or form another party and campaign under another party?  Answer because he knew he will be humilated and defeated in an open election. PDP control the instrument of state and whoever they nominate will win. He is a bad loser all the time.

I just hope you BIG B1 you are young man with future ahead of you and don't try to copy or hold brief for a 'evil genius' like IBB.

If IBB does well for this country may his generation continue to prosper in peace. If otherwise he sytematically and deliberately destroy this country may the good Lord make him to reap all those evil while alive.

As for me and my household we shall serve the Lord say's Joshua in the Bible.

As for me I will always prayed for anyone who thinks and work for the good of Nigeria and want her to be a great country where the ordinary folks we have future.

Anyone who thinks peace and prosperity will not reign in this country, In the name that is above all names, that is the name of the almighty GOD such people we not know peace. They will die misreably and their flesh will be food for the dogs.

Anyone who is for the good of Nigeria, may you continue to prosper and if anyone is against the peace and prosperity of the people of Nigeria, may the curses of ordinary people suffering be upon such person.

These are Deutronomy 28 prayers, they are not curses.
PoliticsRe: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by vigasimple(m): 10:52pm On Dec 23, 2007
In principle a forced relationship as colonialism is not good bearing in mind that the intention of the 'colonial masters' was to derive as much benefits from those countries. They are not in Africa for humanitarian services. It is for cheap labour and natural resources.

The British started by referring to the countries as protectorate and later British subjects. They were in effect having a cheap labour and natural resources at undervalue. They set the prices for everything.  They have the 'military might' and pretended as they have come to be our friend. We are just the surbodinate and they are the superior ( Masters)

In every relationship, even the good ones do produce bad things and a bad relationship does have it's good side.

Christianity, some aspect of western education etc are the good by products of a very one sided master and servant relationship.

On the bad side, they bundled us together without regard for our history and culture. again the good side is that we more than intermingle with ourselves but also create atmosphere of divide and rule among the different tribes.

Now coming to what I think the poster have in mind several months ago while starting this thread. He is saying in effect, our government the initial one after independence and the subsequent ones have not make a significant improvement or rather they are regressing in some cases to the point that he thinks that even the colonial master may have been better at this point in our respective countries history.

The way I see it is that the basic problem is power drunkness without vision and faithful, thoughtful and foresight set of leaders.

If you will recall that people like Nkrumah and the Pre and immediate post independence leaders were determined to make African countries great. Unfortunately, the former colonial masters and our own leaders insatiable greed for power just for their own selfish ends

It is a design of neocolonialist which majority of our leaders up to OBJ and Yar adua falls into. Look, in any good country, Yar adua should not contest or win any election for the fact that he has to go to Germany for whatever illness that may have happen to him (even then he claimed is Flu based  illness) If he has fixed hospital fit for purpose in Kastina State or in Abuja (by his brother friend OBJ) he would not need to go - and he has already gone back to Germany once since he became President.

Also take another example the amount of Billions we take from Oil every year and the amount of gas wasting(called flaring) we cannot fix electricity in 47 years of our independence. You can now see why NDIPE is beginning to think maybe, just maybe that the colonial masters are better organised at stealing our resources. They build Railways in 1914 and it has been destroyed as of today

Colonialism is not or was not good for Africa but our leaders since independence has not refute the colonial master argument that they have been better 'buy' for Africa. The abuse of powers by our leaders make ordinary people feel that colonialism may have been better even though it was part of the colonial master plan to make sure that we are ungovernoable.

When I look at ABUJA which was created just over 30 years ago it makes me feel that if we have determined leaders and sturborn followers who jointly and honesty without tribal or religious affiliation demand our rights we can deliver the best for our people.

That said, in every honesty, greed has taken over our lives that it may be easy for the camel to pass through the eyes of the camel than for any African leaders to succeed.

If we hold our leaders accountable to providing social amenties and security which will reduce our reliance of trying to store monies in foreign account as a form of future security. We have to create wealth and not plunder and hoard wealth.

May God help us in having visionary and detrmined leaders and good follwership.
FamilyRe: If Your Husband/Wife Is Not Smart by vigasimple(m): 12:17am On Dec 23, 2007
The answer to the question might be either of 3 possibilities.

1. Either the person who is saying the other is not smart or intelligent is dumb herself/himself to have decided to marry a dumb person in the first place.

OR

2. It may be Cut_ N_ Hot reason(as in good cocky) but i think women in particular wouldn't marry solely for that.

OR

3. Maybe the stupid, dumb non-smart, unintelligent guy is loaded as in having money. and if this couple are in Nigeria, I think this answer is more propable.

Anyway, as they say ' the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder' what may be smart or dumb may be opposite to the other person

and there is also this thing with an average Igbo business man, he is only interested in making his money and selling and buying, to him that is smartness and intelligence and not big grammer. and as in Nigeria you will be suprised that it is good enough for them.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Is The Problem Of Nigeria -ibb by vigasimple(m): 11:50pm On Dec 22, 2007
If not for freedom of speech IBB should shut his mouth for ever.

In my own little opinion, he has the best opportunity to make Nigeria one of the greatest country in Africa if not in the world and he blew it big time.

He(IBB) was enjoying the goodwill of Nigerians when he took over as a military dictator, and he was never elected. he has the absolute military might to run the country for the better.

Unfortunately, because he has nothing meaningful upstairs (as it is always the case with garrison commannder mentality) and you cannot blame him because he did not have the best interest of Nigerians at heart, he was just playing poker and games with nigerians life.

He spent 8 years or more and ran a succesful election which he didn't expect Abiola to win because back then, there was this erronous believe that as long as you are from the North you will win election as Nigerian president. Did anybody remember that Abiola presidential opponent is Alhaji Tofa who even lost in his own home state of Kano.

The way I see some of IBB comment is that some of them are right but it morally indefensible for the Kettle to call the pot black.

IBB in my humle opinion is the chairman of 419 plc. He annulled elections as if the electorate does not matter and up on till today no concreate reason or explanation.

Did anybody remember a small mutiny by a courageous officer called Lt. Col Umar who said 'he cannot justify or explain the decision to annul the election to his junior officers'.
If Col umar was not a direct descendant of uthman dan fodio, I can assure you he would not have said that or he will be history the way people like Mamman Vasta is history.

A lot of people inside and outside of the PDP are compromised by IBB 'settlemnt tactics' and it is rather difficult for the political or even military class to challenge him.

He is like what Adedibu of 'Amala politics' is now. chop and chop and conciesence is sold on the alter of the truth.

As far as I am concern IBB is history, he can never redeem himself. A dictator who did not allow civil regime should not now benefit because without the sacrifices of well meaning Nigerians we wouldn't have democracy today howsoever imperfect.

Good riddance to bad rubbish this IBB, and I hope him including all the other executhieves of 419 Plc are brought to account sooner than later so that fear of doing evil things can be restored in the minds of average Nigerians.

May God continue to guide this country and give us well meaning and God fearing leaders and may we the followers follow rightly and not misdirect our leaders.

FamilyRe: Can A Husband Forgive Wife Caught In Adultery? by vigasimple(m): 3:22am On Nov 19, 2007
I have not have the priviledge of reading all the replies to the posts.

Promiscuity and infidelity is interestingly much common in women than men. women are able to conceal better than men.

alot of times there are stupid reasons for cheating.

From the Mens perspectives, it is usually lust (men are usually into physical) whereas women have combination system and it can be a combination of things.

Now if a woman cheat, it is unlikely to be like men that can be on impulse, so there is usually an element of premeditation.

Now, the man seriouly need to find out the reasons why she did it and a true confession and sincere promise that she will never do it again presumably with her parents and the pastor.

Then it is definitely forgivable even forgetable and becomes a point of strenght for the marriage. Any second attempt by the woman she is a goner as that may well be a sign of significant spiritual problem.

However, a good investigation is important for the Man to discover the true reasons for the woman doing it because if it is spiritual or a nympho(hmmn, it is like madness, it will always re-appears once in a while)

There are some women who are like men who are simply indulging in lustfullness and nothing more.

On men cheating, i think it goes same way, if the wife work in everyway as much as possible with her husband in a loving way and do not carry bad friends who knows her secret to enable them seduce her husband, then such infidelity calls for the wife to call a meeting again and read the riot act because a lot is at stake including her health and life. One strike rules apply and the man should be out of her life.

I hope and prayed that we can all stay faithfull, it is not hard but temptations and also inability to stay focus on more important things than physical be it sex or money,, because sex is for the man why money is for the woman.

God help all of us. Forgiveness within reason, even Jesus christ told the adulterous woman, 'go woman, your sins have been forgiven, sin no more'

An unrepentant sinner wil die as a sinner and forgiveness is not only impossible but unavailable as forgetfulness that may bring permernet forgiveness will not be there as the sinner has not repent truthfully and sincerely.
FamilyRe: Who Is More Innocent? by vigasimple(m): 11:05am On Nov 18, 2007
What innocent? there is no innocence in any of the stuff they do.

The wife's niece ( i take it that she is single) can claim to be young and single and need to enjoy her youth to go out and party. So really she the less culpable of the two

As for me, there is a price for everything, it is just a matter of time. The niece better not report the man for it not cause separation and divorce for her Aunty (especially that they are looking to the Lord for fruit of the womb for the last 9 years)

As for the Man- he is an AGBAYA (yoruba word for Irresponsible or something like that) at what age is he throwing tantrums when he should be facing his studies, praying and fasting for God to bless his marriage. May be that he doesn't know that it is perfectly possible that his action may lead them permanently not to have an issue- abortion when you need a baby. You don't kill one baby and asking for another.

@ iice

I totally agree with you (everyone that lives in the Uk knows many people like that), there are a lot of goats and dogs(as in men and women) in the uK and you wonder whether they actually do this in Nigeria (or maybe poverty did not allow them to do so) or they are like loose cannon or better still animal free from a Zoo cage after a long time . With respect the women are more pronounced and they are never ashamed of it , it is like a competition as in how many guys have you shag and some do it as eveing job to earn their bus passes etc.

Let everyman and women live their lives as they see fit, judgement is coming soon. may God remember our good deeds
FamilyRe: Can I Meet U Single Mummys by vigasimple(m): 1:20am On Nov 17, 2007
Are you a single mother or married and in a stable relationship with the father of your child.

The two are completely different.

If you are single mother as in father not available, then you may be able to learn from other single mothers but if you are married or in relationship with father and mother present look for friendship with married couple in particular as you will not learn much from a single parent as they have different situation

Single parenthood is an aberration, the idea situation is as a family unit- Husband, wife and their children.

Good luck

@ poster

What about this offer, is in't incredible? what are you waiting for?

I told you that you'll be amazed how many people are looking for the fruit of the womb.

So, instead of being a 'murderer' (as that is what you will be in the eyes of the Lord if you try to abort it) have the child and give it up for adoption if you don't want to keep it.

Everybody on this thread do empathise with you even though we don't know your cicurmstance fully.

May God continue to be with you and provdide for you physcially, financially and spiritually.
PoliticsRe: Iyabo Obasanjo Vs Remilekun Bakare , Traffic Offences Is Not A Criminal Crime by vigasimple(m): 5:20pm On Nov 16, 2007
you dumb ass,

Offence is an offence, that is the argument of the counsel for Mr Remi, according to the legal code of Nigeria, once you are tried in any form , you are already convicted, that is the point the lawyer is holding.

Dont come in here and contribute senselessly as you are known to do.

I trust that you know the difference between a minor trafic offence which maximum penalty is a fine by way of fixed penalty Ticket. It is not a Criminal Offence per se. It is classed as civil matter which the maximum penalty is civil penalty of fine and costs.

Criminal matter on the other hand involve something more cynical and will usually involve spending time behind bar or probation at minimum.

Traffic related 'Offence' which only carries fixed penalty notice is not an offence for the purpose of Serving under the constitution of either USA, UK or indeed Nigeria. You make chek and correct me on that

The petitioning counsel for the applicant, Chief remi  Bakare is just scoring cheap political point or mudslinging to be precise  if they are putting something like that before the courts. Although it was deem unadmissible for different reasons but even if the evidence is admitted it will amount to nothing when judgement comes to be handed down as that type of 'offence' does not disqualify a candidate for holding high offices

look guys, let us debate important issues. Iyabo Obasonjo could have won the Election even without direct rigging as she is the daughter of a sitting President who is not unpopular among his own people in Abeokuta.

Those who 'love' OBJ in Abeokuta are definitely more than those that 'hate' him.
FamilyRe: Will It Work Out ? by vigasimple(m): 12:07am On Nov 16, 2007
Marriage is difficult enough between same religion (and sometimes same tribe/race) now to then compound that with different religion is maybe asking for too much.

Majority of such marriages will crumble under pressure from each partner religious group especially if it is a devoted christian or muslim.

some of them will work but high majority of them is a disaster waiting to happen.

My opinion, unless either party don't have any other choice as in their religion, then if they are seriously going to put extra effort and maybe swear at OKIJA Shrine then it is better avoided.

Good luck guys.

We have been praying for young person, now we have him so how long he will last should not be our watchword but how well he will do and promote evrything in the youth of Nigeria.

So, my brother leave politics alone for politics will take care of itself, get on your bike, pray and work hard for the upliftment of our country.

May God bless you, me and all the citizens of Nigeria.

If we are to be seriously interested in Electricity and power not only for Homes but also for Industrial development we need minimum, I say minimum 50,000MW.

Uk with population of 60Million are on well over 80,000MW.

we are a nation of 140million so do the maths, in any event the 50,000Mw is assesed on our present need so we many even need to do ajdustment to provide for our future needs.

I say GOD will fight our battle for us in this country and all those politicians and executhieves will be put to shame.

Nigerians we are on our way for the children of lucifer to be terminated in their ways.
GOD bless us .
