PDP - Papa deceiving pikin

The lawmaker even though have a duty to make laws for the state and act as oversight on executive branch, those are their primary duties.

But all of them coming to prostrate openly to the governor for whatever 'sin or sins' with their OBA's is a very smart poltics laying the ground for 2011 Ogun state governorship elections.

Ogun state is divided into three zones for the purpose of PDP elections, Egba, Remo and Yewa.  Ogun state under PDP has produce from Egba, Remo and now the turn of Yewa is 2011 and that is the major significance of the 'apology and prostration'.

My only fear is that the Egba's are also interested in the office, and they may turn to another political party to achieve their aims. ANPP more likely will be the beneficiary if they choose this path.

Forget all the OBA's and lawmaker open prostration and apology, it is smart politics to align the REMO's with the YEWA for 2011 election gubernatorial seat for the PDP in Ogun state. Even the OBA's can play politics very well.

The situation with Yar A'dull the way I see it is that (he is never honest with his health in particular)

Because it is obvious that he did not cancel State visits to Brazil simply due to a 'lesser hajj or medical deception' The govt has to do better in this day of 24hrs internet based news cycle.

It is not compulsory that he goes to UN meeting if either his health or work pressure does not permit or he has tell some lie and need more lies to cover up.

On a positive side, domestic issues are very pressing that on this occassion(regrettably because of previous lies) staying at home to sort out our pressing domestic issues maybe more important than attending UN meeting or it may be that he needs to look after his health, which in fairness to the President is also is important for the country ( as state funeral is an expensive thing- and I joined Nigerians in wishing the President good health and long life)

On an overall basis, Yar A'dull like many before him are not up to the job of leading Nigeria. They particularly lack vision. 2020 is a soundbite and an illussion because the indicators as it presnetly stand does not suggest Nigeria being top 20 economy in the year 2050 let alone year 2020.

Disgracefully enough, not many of our leaders (if any at all) knows the meaning of resignation in national interest nor patriotism means anything to them or in their dictionary.

May God help Nigeria to find a leader who knows what Patriotism and national interest means.

YAR A'DULL is the one who need reshuffling. The new President will then get rid of of all incompetent ministers.

You need to get rid of an incompetent President and lead by example before changing ministers that has not been lead by a medical/lesser hajj lieing president. What do you expect from his ministers. anything short of lieing will be hypocrisy.

This country need help and we have a non functioning President and he does not know it and nobody is calling him out on it.

First and foremost the election really in any country should be about serious issues. anyone or leaders vieing for elected office that will put glamour and petty issues should be looked at with suspicion.

Before we go into Race, gender and age. VP choice and ideological issues

1. GOP has been in office for 8 years at the President level and 6 years of that they control both houses and see where no only america is today but the rest of the developed world and some developing nations.

2. State of the union (as in USA)- the country is ina toilet after 8 years of republican misrule and those people has a shameless boldness to even be campaigning. The state of the USA economy is on par with the great depression and has affected most european and other countries that invested in uSA institutions.

3. IRAQ WAR- The single biggest blunder in america foreign policy in a long long time. because of the preoccupation with a non existent enemy and WMD, 4000 US solders has been lost and many several thousands maimed physically and mentally, and neraly $1 trillion dollars has been losts which could have been used to build infrastuctures in America or at least reduce health care costs or build the economy, pay foreign debts or even use to build devasted cities suffreing from katrinas and other major natural disaster. America can't even mind their own shop and going to fight a phony war in Iraq.

THe GOP believe in military power and with all the diplomacy that are bringing down barriers, it simply shows that military powre alone can never solve any problem. America has a big leverage to use right after 911 and wasted it by chasing shadows rather getting the international community to chase Osama bin laden with them

I can go on and on.

But let us look at some important facts.

OBAMA and BIDEN combined, are more educated, intelligent, thoughtful, think before action, knows the power of diplomacy. Mccain succeed to where he is today because of Family military background business.

In terms of education, intelligent etc, Mccain and Palin are complete paperweight.


RACE: In the history of America, OBAMA is the only half white half black and was even brought up by his white grand parent and in a much better position to understand white and balck and other minorities. He is well travel meeting ordinary people unlike Mccain who is a son and grandson of a naval admiral throughout his travel and Palin only got passport last year. Biden is a working class senator who does not have asset worth 500K. Mccain's are worth at least $100M inherited with 7 houses. Obama is the first generation of his who made his monies from books he has written before running for elected office.

AGE: At 72 years of age and history of serious cancer, with 4 attacks in recent years and the demand of the office of the Presidency, that alone is enough for the US to look elsewhere. To choose a beauty pagent is just a joke of the highste order. we are talking of serious military and nuclear leader of the world in a 44 years old who has not meet a single world leader in or outside America.

VP Choices: First OBAMA chooses BIDEN to govern and not just to win political office because he could have choosen Hilary clinton and the eelction will be over, but he knew to govern require a team player that will defer to the captain(the President). You don't need to captain in a ship or a co president in oval office.

Mccain choice is simply to win election and 'will take it from there' mentality. Bomb bom bomb Iran and think afterwards why have you done so.

Finally on ideaological issues: most women and HRC women in particular are more democrat and relate to them, so voting Mccain an Palin because of some token wome on the Ticket is like voting against your interest simply because there is a woman on the ticket.

If Mccain win the election ( God forbids ) Americawill slide seriously further and they may lose their number economic nation in the world quicker than everyone thought and maybe Nigeria may become leading 20 economy in the world

Obama/Biden will look at the rest of the world with cooperative attitude and the world will be a better place.

I expect religious ministers not to 'advice' on political matters. They can counsel politicians or admonish them if they are doing something seriously wrong. otherwise  the job of ministers of religion is to pray before leaders are  elected or selected and to pray for God to give them vision to lead us.

The problem with Yar A'dull is that he simply does not have a vision of his own and he is trying to use other peoples radar to pilot his own ship and it is bound to fail.

Health problem also will not help anyone who already does not have a vision. it will compound the problem.

YAR A'DULL  =  ILLUSION 2020. Forget vision 2020 and 7 pointless agenda. We need to rethink in Nigeria and all those ministers should pray and stop speaking in public about politicians.

To your question directly why Nigerians want OBAMA to win- He is an example of Blackman(of mixed race parentage) that has done well for himself without well connected family and fortunes and has lead a role model life and living the American dream of anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

I recommend a one off amnesty for everybody that declares their corruption especially in public and publicly interested organisations (like PLC's) and return their loot. failing that life imprisonment/death penalty.

Nigerians don't want to die, they will obliged once examples are made of some people.

Until you are able to address CORRUPTION comprehensively, it does not matter what type of system you operate, there is a little chance of it succeding.

This North South divide is only in the PDP 'power sharing agreement' and not in the Nigeria constitution. CORRUPTION IS THE ONLY THING THAT THRIVE IN NIGERIA FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. The percentage of corrupt people in public and private life is astonishing.

When RIBADU was the chairman of EFCC, at least even the IGP, Governors and senators has some fear but since he was sent to some dodgy school in KURU and replace by Waziri, corruption has pick up steam again.

What we need is a foolproof solutions to reduce drastically corruption that start now.

Anything short of fighting corruption will continue to put us down.

Even your President  Yar A'dull and his PDP people are not sure of his date of birth.

Remember some south south governor congratulatiing him on the NTA in July for his 57th Birthday when we were later informed by SA to President Olusegun Adeniyi that he has checked to confirm that the President was actually born in August. may be July is the actual birthday and August is the official birthday.

In any event this idea of congratulatiing and celebrating 51st, 57th 48th, 73rd birthday is part of Nigeria msiplaced priority.

Whatever the official word from the Presidency, it appears that those officers are involuntarily discharged especially when a retreat was cancelled at last minute. Maybe some element of mutiny and Yar A'dull is not Baba go slow afterall when his tenure is threatened.  He dismissed them on the express lane.

I wish Mr Yar A'dull can deal with Nigeria challenges like power on express lane etc  rather than going to some Lesser Hajj that does not contribute anything to Nigeria. May be it is part of his holiday (which has become almost permanent).

REALITY 2008/2009   and 10 years national plan is what we need

So, Mr yar A'dull want to give us  6,500MW in 2020 when we need at least 50,000MW right away. I am very convinced that this PDP failure of

I think this is an example of misplaced priorities. The DG of NSE made a big mistake in this fund raising.

Secondly, it appears that Madam Ndi okereke needs to focus her attention on the business which she has been appointed to carry out.

In fairness to her the OBAMA thing is more like trying to celebrate a good thing that has come to the black race and their will be chain reaction benefits in OBAMA success.

Now to EFCC, they may have a point in arresting Madam NSE on OBAMA issues but there are 1 million rogues they should be chasing and prosecuting. WAZIRI promise she will not operate like RIBADU.

Whether or not anybody like it RIBADU is far superior to all this 'daily tracker' prosecutor.

I like anything progressive and should be commended.

However, my instinct tells me that this particular 'mou/deal' was done because of affinity between Yar A'dull  and Germany especially since this is where he goes everywhere he need medical treatment.

Where is our comprehensive energy policy. This is 6500MW at best to be ready in 2020. That is 12 years from here.

Even if we just grow at a small percentage population wise, that 6500mw will just be 'growth factor'

What happen to the public enquiry that takes several weeks and 100 days declaration of emergency which took over 365days.

This president have not got any handle on running this country properly. he exhibit all the hallmark of people before him, visionless and he goes further, clueless.

He has spent over 15months and I, for one cannot see any direction.

Power need a comprehensive analysis, of what we have, what we need and how we are going to pay for it and finally how we are going to let the private sector run it as a proper business.

Government has no business in business especially with our track record.

This is another example of lack of clue on Long term national planning.

Apart from corruption, power/energy/electricity is our major problem that will take our economy to the next level. Until there is clarity of purpose and ordinary person on the street can understand it, we may just be pouring water inside a woven basket. I suspect some of the officials with their own hidden agenda are simply encouraging the President to do something without thinking through longtime.

It maybe good for the people. They will save on'harrasement and N20 N20 vision'

By the time the strikes are over, the people may decide that we don't need police anymore and everybody carry their own gun and we shall see.

Let us pray for our own President Yar A'dull who is now in Saudi Arabia in a German hospital for treatment.

Can anyone fail to notice the pattern of African leaders failing to build good hospital in their own country and at a drop of a hat they are somewhere in another part of the world on medical check up or treatment.

I think it is high time that anyone who is contesting for the office of the President must submitt or provide a comprehensive medical report about their health or they are disqualified form contesting for office.

THIS IS CALLED FITNESS TO HOLD OFFICE. - on this account,  YAR A'DULL may NOT BE FIT FOR OFFICE, and should either resign or be impeached for such purpose.

But,  I can bet my top dollar on the fact that nobody has the bottle to call on the President to either resign or face impeachment based on this.

It is high time the President disclose to the nation with evidence the true state of his health before we face the Zambian embarrssement. very few Preisdent die in a foreign hospital when it is not an emergency.

They have come again with their dubious means of cheating desperate job seekers. They called my number yesterday and say they were calling from Nigerian Custom service and that i should call them in five minutes time. After i called the number, they told me that the final screening for custom recruitment is on and that the competition is too much as over two million people applied but i am among the lucky few that were selected base on merit. They told me that alot of ministers and senators are giving them too much pressure to shortlist their candidate and for me to be retain i should hurry up and send #50,000.00 to them before 4pm. I almost yielded but after i analysed the way they spoke to me i concluded i will not send the money untill i confirm from reliable source. The truth is that they were not custom officials but 419. Please, be ware.

@ poster you may be a 419 aider and abbettor as you almost yield. So if you think geninuely that  they are able to assist you to get the job you will have paid them the N50,000. A receiver (in this case a giver) is worse than the thief. You are also a 419 by association for almost yielding.

90% +  of nigerians( especially the people in authority) are either 419 or potential 419.  The whole system is corrupt from top to bottom.

If you don't 419  somebody, somebody may 419 you, so everyone looks to 419 each other.

This raise the 'BIAFRAN QUESTION'  which is in 2 parts.

1. Does power and control of Nigeria belongs exclusively to the North.

2. Will an Igbo man make a point of being fully 'Nigerian' and fight to lead a united nigeria and then show the rest of the country leadership or will they want their cake and try to eat it by wanting to lead Nigeria and continue to argue Biafra.

before u guys started yapping your mouth, I am not Igbo but I sympathise with the Biafran cause because one Nigeria means we should all be ble to aspire to the highest office in the land and entitiled to it by merit irrespective of tribes, religion or region.

Twice it has been shown patently obvious that presidency of Nigeria is ' family property of the North' . First during Shagari's regime and General Diya's phanthom coup. There are other times which is done subtly.

The other main issue is the oil revenue sharing formula.

Like the office of the President, it is not the sharing formula that is wrong, it is lack of obvious development around the country especially in the Niger delta.

I prayed that Yar A'dull does not die from all of these illness( Zambian President just die this morning). Because we may have constitutional crisis due to the North selfishness about power being zoned to the North, the constitutions says that the VP takes over, and everyone knows that Goodluck did not create Yar A' dull illness so he could and should not be responsible in the event (God forbid) something happens to Yar A'dull.

On a more practical note, how efficient is an ill leader in a country with more challenges like Nigeria.

The selection of Yar A'dull by OBJ is one of his major failure. A good leader always leave a good and competent successor. On that account alone, OBJ is a failure.

well i don't know about his achievements as a governor, but the media used to make so much noise about his achievements in kaduna when he was a govenor.

presently when he was asked what and why he hasnt achieved anything in the last one year, his response was too poor he claimed he's used the whole one year planning and mapping out strategies to work on , what was he doin before he became president,besides that if he uses 1 yr(and still counting as nothin de happen now sef) to plan how and what will he achieve in the next 3 years?

How can a guy contest an election without knowing the situation of what he is inheriting especially if he is from the same ruling party.

As far as I am concerned OBJ is visionless so is Yar A'dull, more worrisome is that Yar A'dull is even more clueless. For all those praise singers, yar A'dull is a repeat of OBJ who spent 8 years and never accomplish anything.

I think that Mrs. Waziri priorities are misplaced.

She said ' i want to be proactive and prevent crimes' .

two things

1. if there are chances of violent or possiblity of attempt to escape (which will happen very soon under her watch) handcuffing is not a problem. Trying traeting thieving executhieves with kid gloves encourage them. They will simply come to court with their entourage with music and drums

2. secondly, Mrs. waziri job is to investigate and prosecute economic criminals. Her business is not to prevent them. The governors, senators etc are law understanding officers of the Federal republic of Nigeria. they know the laws and they abuse it. It is for the govt to start doing something about fighting corruption and crime and not her business to divert her attention from investigation and prosecuting criminals to lecturing them on not to committ crime.

IMO, a clueless president can only appoint a clueless law enforcement agent who doesn't know her job. Talk of chasing shadows.

Until corruption is addressed and shown by example by the Preisdent downwards we are wasting our time.

Just as a question. If Nigeria were to beat Ivory Coast who will be our next opponet.

I hope it is neither Brazil or cameroon because those 2 are pretty good,

We can at least take our chance against Azurri's (iTALY) or Belgium if they manage to make it past Italy.

A responsible govt will have publicise nationally the situation and status of resident of Bakkassi and what they should be doing before and after the 14th August 2008.

Also, for some people just making noise just few days before the handover it is sad. It is now quite conceivable that the whole of Nigeria can be ceeded to Benin Republic and our politicians will still be eating pepper soup and big stout.

As things stand we simply have clueless President and govt, and to be fair to the present administration we have bad govt's for a long time.
