Kalusam: Read the ideas you've got there; great we are thinking in the same direction even though we've not discussed about this previously . Was chatting with my friend last week on how his journey to his Dad's farm went...he told me something that let my jaw dropping! His Dad harvested and stored about 9 bags of Cocoa pods and they sold for 450k...my guy got a gift of 100k from Daddy for his 1 week stay, end of story. Now, Imagine if they were exporting them? *9 bags of dried cocoa beans*. |

So here's what really went down.
I administered Gumboro on the 2nd week. Lasota a week later. I was supposed to repeat Gumboro the ff week but my birds had issues with Cocci. My DOC was from CHI.
I was using Centre-dicox but no improvement. I switched to Totravet and there was instant result. I was planning to give them Gumboro vaccine the following day, which was on Monday, when Gumboro struck; on Sunday. |

Mykeolinks: @viktor556 congrats, how old are your birds and how many are they They are 92 and 24 weeks old. With an initial stock number of 300. I lost 200+ to Gumboro when they were only 4weeks + old. |

Eggcelent. Happy new year. I'm now at 92% of lay. I photostimulated them on 30th of December to increase the egg sizes but the birds were just sleeping anyhow. Lol. Their sizes are improving though. The market women still pay #550/crate but I hope to jack it up to #600 in few days. I already copied the phone number you posted. |

@eggcelent, compliments of the season. My production is now 81-84%. Is that a good figure? And secondly, is it necessary I de-beak pullets since I intend to cage them. P.S - I have 160 pullets. |
Agriculture › Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by viktor556(m): 11:38am On Dec 15, 2015 |
Eggcelent: viktor556, congratulations. You may wish to increase their daily feeds consumption to 115g/bird. I assume they are on layers mash now. Success. They are already on 120g/bird. One more thing, when I wanted to administer LaSota, I emptied their water pipe(tip drinkers), and since you dilute 200 doses in 4 liters, the water couldn't drip cuz the volume was small. I had to improvise by pouring the vaccine in a lid and making the birds drink from it. For future purposes, and to avoid over dilution, how I get them the vaccine? Or how do you administer vaccine to your caged birds? |

@eggcelent, I administered LaSota yesterday. The green colour of the birds droppings has reduced drastically and only one shell-less egg was found today in 49eggs. |
Agriculture › Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by viktor556(m): 11:51am On Dec 10, 2015 |
Eggcelent: viktor556. Please, do administer Lasota as soon as it is due. Your production should peak within the next week. Hope you have switched to layers mash. smankerana. It is important you administer Lasota whenever it is due so long as the birds don't have any bacterial infection. Success, please. alright then. Saturday is the day. |
