BusinessRe: My Experience At Ounje Eko Food Market In Bariga, Lagos by Villa12(m): 12:55pm On Mar 19, 2024
Timoleon:
No program anywhere in the world benefits everyone. If they sell pure water @ 2 for 5 naira today, you'd still find people who would beg for 5 naira for water. Definitely, not all lagosians have money to buy foodstuff so how can they all benefit?
why can't they tackle the issue of poverty bro? Why would someone not be able to afford ordinary food while their leaders are one of the highest paid in the world, they stole billions? Does that make sense to you?

You don't have to be angry over things done in Lagos for Lagos benefit.

This initiative is a good one
nothing is good about this bro. The government has improvished the people they're now throwing crumbs at them. Trust me there are more people that cannot even afford this discounted food. What will become of them please?

Hello,

I have ₦30k to support some persons in dire need.

I don't really know the perfect formula but I think ₦2k for 15 persons may sound better. Or ₦3k for 10 persons? Or ₦5k for 6 persons? (what do you think?).

Please let those in desperate need earn this. If you don't need this, kindly resist the temptation. It's not a big sum per person but can be a big help to many who truly are in need.

Thank you and good evening.
Chatinent please consider me in your kind gesture. I'm completely stranded. 02 28185087 Gtbank.

seborrhic:
All these is besides the point because your rebuttal is based on the assumption that I must be a Tinubu supporter.
Every reasonable person knows Tinubu is a disaster but my own argument is based on the fact the person I quoted said this program is a handout.Clearly it's not because it's neither free goods or is the discount even that great,25%.
People seem to forget that even in the most capitalist Nation on earth, the US,there are still food banks, social security guaranteed income for ALL American citizens not working and even this same discounted food markets for those that don't mind or are low on cash for varying reasons or need to save cash on food to meet up with other expenses.
This is because they understand food is the primary sustainer of life and if you eat,you can save or totally forgot other expenses on health, transport, travel or leisure
ok good. The point now is how many household can afford the so called 25% discount. I learnt the highest you can buy is 25k. How many household can cough out 25k in Tinubu government? Just as they're selling a bag of rice around 84 -87k depends on location. If your so called government should decide to give it out at 25% discount, please tell me how many households that can cough out 63-65k for a discounted bag of rice? This is what we're saying bro. This government has so much improvished the people to the extent that garri is now a luxury in many households.

Nigeria is a zoo country, look at how they turn its citizens to poverty level. Boast d economy because Nigeria citizens are hand working.
your useless leaders has a mission, which is to improvished the people. Sadly, they've achieved their mission and the next is to throw food at them like almajiri at the IDP camp or like those in the war

seborrhic:
How in God's name is this a handout?
Lagos State buys goods wholesale direct from farmers or manufacturers.Instead of the price being say 2000 in the free market, they sell 1700 or 1600.So how is it a handout which you pay for.
Remember, the state will bear the cost of transport from the company, won't pay omoonile on the road and won't pay market levy, some of the cost that are added by the ordinary seller to get at 2000.
So how again is this a fu cking handout.
Some of you are really disgusting.
Your leaders mission is to improvished the people which obviously they had achieved. Abi how many household can boast of 3 square meal daily under Tinubu government? Were Nigerians this improvished under Jonathan, yaradua and even Buhari government? It is a mission accomplished by your useless leaders. Then the next is to throw food at them like almajiri at the IDP camp.

seems you dont even understand the news, this is no handout, these people are buying food with their own money just at about 15 percent subsidized rate.
That is what we're saying. Your leaders mission is to improvished the people which obviously they had achieved. Abi how many household can boast of 3 square meal daily? Then the next is to throw food at them like almajiri at the IDP camp.

First, they impoverish the masses.

Then they pretend to come to their rescue with stipends and palliatives.

The masses then see them as Messiah.

Next elections, they come out and the Foolish Masses fight anyone who thinks they should be voted out.

There are much more families that lives and survive base on what they see, for such families 80k could be a huge sum. While some families cannot survive on that amount.

exactly

Even during Jonathan era, i hardly heard of hunger from anyone. Rice was so cheap that anymore could afford it. You could imagine other foods since almost everyone can afford rice. Buhari came and killed everything, while Tinubu is here for the funeral.

The level of ignorance displayed by Nigerian youths is alarming.

Modified: So many goats bleating about instead of accepting a stated fact.
All these insults you slowpokes have rained, and none of you could actually provide any point to say I am wrong. You are angry because I corrected the OP and didn't condemn the action of the National Assembly.

Well as long you are holding only the Senate responsible and leaving out the HOR on an issue they are both responsible for them you must be sick in the head.

By the way I wasn't arguing, I was correcting a notion, but ..... I am talking to educated people who don't know the difference between the Senate and the National Assembly.
No wonder most of you don't know the arms of government and government agencies to hold accountable for your problems....
National Assembly comprises of both Senate and House of Representative. I understand you're a supporter of APC. That is where you get your daily bread.
