Focusmind:
Hi Ajanlekoko, this careersinafrica, do they realy recruit at the summit? Wil those companies they listed as their clients be at the summit?

I want to know because most careers fair in Uk seems to be more presentation and companyies telling people what they are into. Please educate me more on the careersinafrica and how authentic that the recruitment would take place during the summit
Yes they do recruit at the summit, but bear in mind that there are always lots of people attending and looking for a job, so you need to be very competitive as well, last year, from what i heard, the number of Nigerians alone were over 3000
CareerRe: Ericsson Moves To Sack Nigerian Employees, Hire Indians As Replacement by violent(m): 2:14pm On Apr 15, 2010
This is really really really really sad.

How unfortunate can one get other than being a Nigerian?

If you can't compete for jobs successfully outside Nigeria, and inside Nigeria, things are just as horrendous?

Why do we have labour leaders at all?
PoliticsRe: Jonathan May Not Be a Serious Person Afterall . . . by violent(m): 11:58am On Apr 15, 2010
Anyone discrediting the Yar Adua adminstration and praising Goodluck as an acting president is simply clueless . . . If Jonathan was better he would have resigned earlier because light and dark do not go together . . .
I'm embarrassed to think this is what your rational thoughts are based on, its just simply pathetic!

Besides, i wonder how long it will take for you guys to get the simple fact that IWU is not getting sacked! his tenure is simple ending and any right minded individual wouldn't re appoint the same man that has failed in his duty over and over again.

Blaming the system is simple an act of gross irresponsibility, why not blame people that are paid to be in charge of the system?

If he knew he couldn't handle the system, then he shoulda simply resigned and pave way for someone who could instead of announcing far fetching results, It's just like OBJ blaming Nigeria for bad governance. . . .duh? why then did we elect him?
PoliticsRe: List Of Nigerian Looters Now Deceased by violent(m): 11:16am On Apr 15, 2010
What i really find difficult to understand is that these thieves {IBB and co} after looting the treasury dry, have the despising effrontery to come back for more. . . Its insulting to think anyone of them should like Oliver twist, dare demand for more, either they feel we are ídiots or we really are ídiots.

IBB must be killed if he is really vying for presidential election in nigeria. It is the greatest insult that will happen to sane nigerians if he is allowed to contest for presidential election, talkless of winning it,it is like spitting on the graves of honest dead and yet to die nigerians.
redsun:
IBB should be dead,in jail or on the run,he is a felon,a saboteur with the highest treasonable crime against the country on his head yet he is vying for a presidential election in nigeria,What does that say of ordinary nigerians?Zombies.

The country is practically disappearing into a black hole,a state of oblivion, practically a country of idiots
i couldn't agree with you less. the fact that some people see him as the next best thing after shaving stick is really worrisome

why don't we start by checking out how Tribe and Ethnicity has affected Democracy huh

How does being a Christian and Yoruba affect the democratic government? what effect will it have if it were a military regime?

PoliticsRe: Can Democracy Really Work In A 'Tribal And Religious' Society? by violent(m): 8:38pm On Apr 14, 2010
How does Ethnicity and Religion affect democracy?

Democracy is a government of the people by the people, it has no direct tandem with where i come from or which religion i believe in.

If it was our Honorable Minister of Information in the chair being grilled with such questions, you guys will have been privileged to read a shambolic and disgraceful ton of undiplomatic response.

The way Jonathan answered without resorting to name calling as well as a charismatic approach which is deeply rooted in the act of thinking before talking or even acting is a habit that most leaders in Nigeria find difficult to cultivate.

^^ well, i believe you'd agree with me that so far, he hasn't acted in a way that will depict self interest at the expense of the country's interest. All his actions thus far has not been motivated by the PDP, rather, he seem to employ a tactical approach towards things.

PoliticsAnnoying Things About The Average Nigerian's Mindset. by violent(op): 6:05pm On Apr 13, 2010
After reading a number of posts today, it took a level of restriction to stop me from breaking my laptop screen due to the absolute gibberish it feeds my eyes with, and of course, i have many nairalanders to thank for that.

What disturbs me, this time i hope to find an answer from folks that share the view, is that the average Nigerian believes and focus attention on where the next President is going to emerge from rather that who and what leadership qualities as well as achievements the individual has.

Quite frankly, should we really give a flying mouse's árse if the President is from the North or South or even from both?

Why do we focus our attention and direct our energy on a ""turn by turn" Leadership, rather than look for quality candidates and support them with all vigor?

Obasanjo is from the south and he was a president for 8 years, question is, does it make the south any better than it was 10 years ago?

Yaradua is from the North, and he was has been the president since April 2007, are there better schools in the North because of him?

Shouldn't we start looking at the quality of candidate and less at where they come from?

Could abusive and harsh parenting in the name of discipline among nigerians be the reason why full grown nigerians see responsibilities as wishful thinking? They will rather bear allegiance to thieves and retards than to take the bull by the horns themselves.

An average nigerian adult sees him or herself as a child who cannot change things for good.T[b]he criminals in the name of leaders that have systematical destroyed the country from time immemorial are the same people thay look forward to when it comes to elections and politics

I love this!

Its really shameful to think in a country of 150 million People, the only sets of candidates some folks endorse are the same thieves who brought us to this end.

PoliticsRe: Ibori Petitions Agf Over Alleged Efcc Manhunt by violent(m): 3:21pm On Apr 13, 2010
Oboma1:
I know for sure, if this is the kind of Politics Jonathan wants to play, then, he has planned to fail. This will just make people turn away their supports for him. Americans are the worst kind of friends for anyone to keep. If Yar'adua returns today, they will still celebrate him. Using government tools to hunt your detractors, will only make the masses to have pity on them, and then make you unpopular.

Jonathan is towing a dangerous path here. Let him concentrate on good governance, else he will fail.
Take for example, if Ibori decides to sponsor another Niger Delta crisis, who will suffer? He knows so well, he cannot send the military against his own people, so what happens? This is a very dangerous game to play.

Please note, I hate corruption and hate everything all about it. Let everyone be held accountable for their actions.
So how exactly, sir, do you recommend we deal with people who believe their sole reason of existence is to loot Nigeria dry?. . and how exactly does one concentrate on good governance without focusing on transparency?

Sir, i'd advise you stop speaking for the masses in this case, no one will have pity on him if he is found guilty {am sure as hell he's guilty}. and instead, folks will sing Jonathan's praises like Happy birds, his record will go down in history as one of the people who refused to celebrate corrupt officials.

And saying he'd be unpopular? sir, you lied!!!

Ribadu is still popular, and even though hunted in the past, still has the backing and approval of a larger percentage of 150 million people

The People want scape goats, Ibori is one, and soon enough, will be discussing about "those days when life was sweet" with Bode George

Kobojunkie:
I am sorry this doctor himself have NOT seen yar adua, so how can he be sure the man is NOT recuperating as claimed by the clerics? How can he be sure the President is not talking when he, the doctor, did not see Yar adua before, during and after his trip? Where did he get information confirming the man to be in vegetative state?

Please enough of these NOISE MAKERS already. Where is the minister of Information and why is she not telling us now what the condition of the president really is?
The Minister of information has suddenly gone silent, of course, she'd talk again when the baton is about changing hands, she seem quite good at that.
PoliticsRe: Stop Ibb Help Us by violent(m): 11:20pm On Apr 12, 2010
Kobojunkie:
In my opinion, except one decides to take the violent route, the only way to stop this man is to educate people on the reality of what we do if we allow him in. We have a democracy now and rule of law needs to be followed. Except a court somewhere can stop him from running, I doubt anyone can do anything about him running.
cool cool cool cool
