I don't have any reason to start any threads for anyone of them because I expect it is obvious to all those involved that their record speaks volumes of what their reappointment is about, the Nigerian problem of Recycling mediocrity in the name of progress to try to hoodwink people.

However, when people like you serve up a dish filled with the same old crap, and try to convince me it is NEW and Better, I have an issue with that. Dora is on the same level as the other ministers you mentioned up there. All Accomplished next to nothing for over a year. Dora went as far as to appear on National TV on numerous occassions to LIE to the Nigerian people, But here YOU are telling me she is a CHANGED being and deserves a Hallo, and that, my friend, is what I find unbeweavble and unacceptable.

No other ex-Minister (from Ojo Maduekwe, to Odein Ajumogbia, to Kayode etc. ) is being villified for the status quo except for the very Minister who dared to speak out.

That tells me the reasons you guys single her out is not for the sins of the 42 Ministers but for her singular bravery. It is my hope that you guys should be courageous enough to accuse Dora of what you guys really have against her instead of masking it into something else.

The government is deeply mired in corruption, she works for the government, she drives about in government cars, collect stupendous jumbo salaries as well as bonuses while the average Nigerian suffers, she even brands herself as the "minister of rebranding", she moves about with high shoulders that come with being a minister of the federal republic. . . and just because she saw an imminent change, she switched sides.

She simply left the "Yaradua" sinking ship . . and the pathetic ways that folks got swooped by her actions makes me question if we've got sane minded individuals in this country or not.

How do you fight a corrupt government that pays your bills. . . in another 6 months time God forbid Goodluck falling sick, we will probably be hearing a new song from the loose cannon.

The way she speaks is another issue that ought to be addressed. . .sometimes i wonder which one she does first, thinking or speaking?

However, i saw this bit of information and i thought you are definitely kidding!. . . DEFINITELY KIDDING!

Another factor is the ability of unprofitable and illegal coys to trade effectively on the NSE. We had cases of coys like Capital oil, Afro Oil trading on the stock market with no visibile accounts, offices and no signs of any commercial activities going on in the aforementioned companies. Interestingly, these coys were much more valuable on the market than some fundamentally tested companies. or how do you explain a coy like Afroil selling for about N15 without any audited accounts for 3 years!!
No visible trade lines, no visible business and they were selling far more than say Access Bank at that time

u sell, hold your money, look at the charts again and send the dough on another errand. The insurance stocks usually were the targets

i hope the post restructuring era will allow for these manipulations if not, thats bye bye to short term trading for me

a bullish trend might not even last for more than a day!. . . it could be as a result of transitory volatility from large  buy and sell orders as opposed to fundamental volatility due to informational purposes.

What if you invested 20 million in an Insurance stock and the companies announces possible bankruptcy!

But still it sounds like a good strategy but i doubt if i can wait 2-3weeks before i offload my shares after seeing initial price gains.

I believe i can learn a lot from you, but i don't know how to PM on nairaland

I did make quite a killing in the stock market, but I spoilt it all by re-investing the profits, cos I thought the growth span would be much longer.
The bank re-capitalization, the huge sums OBJ invested in power (which was supposed to set free the real sector), Dangote's landmark aqcuisitions, I honestly felt it was going to 'rock' for a long while. So I kept re-investing, and never took the profits.
Unfortunately, everything tanked, and right now, confidence level is at its lowest. The silly-azz cabal antics holding us all down with a half-dead prez isn't helping either.

I agree some of the companies are undervalued as as result of past occurences but am i gonna invest in a market that has got no bearing? Let me create a sceneario

you invest in Bank A cos the bank is extremely undervalued and because of the new happenings in the financial landscape a la CBN intervention and the new Management on board. 7 months down the line, CBN comes with another round of its intermediation to further clense the system of the past problems and the ever vigilant 9ja investors run back to the market to offload thereby putting more pressure on the stock in question. will you say your investment is a good one?

i have been having series of debates with ma colleagues  over this cos i am heavily invested in some of these banks just b4 Sanusi came with his sledge hammer. To some schools, the banks will come good in 3-4 years time, to others, these banks are unhealthy and will be auctioned very soon. Can someone really use these PE ratios and the other technical indicators to meaure what to buy in this present climate?

Well, without doubt am sure you know more than i do that the world of finance is in all entirety a risk return trade off, you can either take the risk that volatility on the NSE will remain constant for a while and then take the plunge in your investment.

The situation the way i see it is just a little different from investing in junk securities with high returns and high risk!

In as much as investment opportunities on the NSE looks a little dim and rovers with a lot of uncertainty, the CBN reforms so far has reverted prices back to their fundamentals, many of the prices currently reflects greatly the individual company performance except a for  few undervalued ones which are mostly influenced by the current economical state of the country as well as investors irrationality.

I believe the current reforms as well as regulators policies will only make the NSE stronger, and this will earn a lot of trust and confidence from investors globally.

If the news of possible Acquisition is true, this should have been reflective in the stock price which is expected to jump at the arrival of such news, except maybe the NSE is the only exchange that defies all  laws of an Efficient Market.

My investment strategy will be to identify good Large value stocks in the Financial, technology as well as Manufacturing sectors

what bothers me more is the effect all these will have on credit intermediation in the country and its subsequent effect on small cap industries

But i believe investing on the NSE might be a gold mine with many companies having extremely low P/E ratios as well as strong growth fundamentals evident in the fact that a lot of them are shedding off their fixed costs components, it only points out to the fact that future ROI as well as ROE will be a plus for investors. I really hope folks will take advantage of these opportunities.
