ddippset: No Emergency rule was necessary in Rivers, there was no serious security issues like we've seen in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Benie, Plateau.
Stop defending absurdity and illegality..
If Tinubu felt the Governor was at fault all he had to do was allow for his lawful impeachment and another Governor brought in.
If the assembly was at fault all that was needed was for the Senate and Reps to assume the legislative functions of the state and work with Fubara..
Stop giving hypocritical excuses for Tinubu's impunity.
And by the way who's going to remove Tinubu for all the insecurities that have claimed thousands of lives under his watch?
Abi was he elected to be God of Nigeria who can only remove Governors?
If a Governor can be remotely not a President? Have you heard fubara thank PBAT for saving his job? If fubara was impeached do you think that his supporters and lovers would have kept quiet. Wouldn't there have been major crisis in Rivers? Wouldn't it have been better to be proactive and avoid losses? |
Business › Re: Petrol Price War Turns Dirty As Dangote Attacks NMDPRA Boss by Vision101(m): 5:13pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
FOLYKAZE: Dangote reduced his price to corner the people, their sympathy and every other things to himself. He then systematically attack NMDPRA, choosing the head, Farouk, for his hits. This guy is simply playing a kind of resistance as it is played out in the movie Money Heist. (simply make the established system the villain, give the populace some goodies to earn their sympathy, then direct them to destroy the enemy, the establishment). In this case NMDPRA which gave licence out to importers to scout refined products from Russia is the establishment. The question is that why should Dangote lose sleep if anyone choose to import their productd and sell at lose? Why should Dangote cry if importers chose to import and spill their products all over the sea?
Another question people fail to ask, what magic happened now that made Dangote reduce the price of his product? Has crude oil price in the international market crashed? Did FG waived import duties or the shipping cost suddenly reduced? All along, Dangote is manipulating the market selling exhorbitantly to Nigerians and now that he sees some guys ar going out to bring in fuel which could compete with him, he panicked, rush and reduced price, and now attacking NMDPRA for issuing licence for importation. What he has been doing is profiteering which is a crime.
Nigeria should wise up, the Greek gift and sudden Santa gifting from Dangote is to weed out competition. And the importers are here to stay. If they can get fuel at a reduced price from anywhere, they should be allowed to do it. Why should Dangote be worried? You invest $20 billion dollars and allowed traders to just go anywhere in the world to source for substandard products and bring into the country. With our hard earned fx you use it to export labour and import unemployment. Why shouldn't he as a patriot be worried? Some of them have been in the business of petroleum importation before Dangote ever thought of it but they didn't remember that it will be more beneficial to Nigeria to refine our products. They preferred quick profit business of importation and they want it to continue. Between them and Dangote who adds more value to Nigeria? Who has swindled Nigeria more all these years in the petroleum industry? |

Nteogwuija: Precedent is now set. Successive presidents have taken note.
On a second thought, why are our laws open to discretions and loopholes for circumvention?
Lawyers and others conversant with the law, could you be kind to educate us? The primary aim of law is the good of the society. There is no law without gaps. Some have more but many are tighter. Can you imagine where there's no law that allows for declaration of state of emergency and there's a political chaos in a state. What will the country do? What will the president do? Stand aloof and watch destruction everywhere? This is not the intention of the law. During Yaradua's death the country was confused because there was no precedent. The country then invoked the doctrine of necessity. This will guide the country in future. |

Politics › Re: ‘₦150M Can’t Buy My Shoe’ — Primate Ayodele Calls Adelabu ‘Small Boy’ by Vision101(m): 8:39pm On Dec 14, 2025 |
Dogalmighty17: God of man has spoken. Nigerians help me consider this. It is an error to pastor a church for years and you become richer than the congregation you pastor. There is no prominent pastor in Nigeria that started ministry with up to 300 naira in their account. I'm not talking about the Jerry Eze set of pastors. Even his set non of them started ministry with up to 5 million of personal funds in their accounts.
Majority of these pastors are billionaires now. Just last year, a group of them donated 500m each to buy a Rolls Royce for their spiritual father. The most prominent one among them didn't even have transport and a place to sleep when he first stepped foot in Abuja. His church office was an abandoned molue bus he covered with wrapper at the windows.
But they are billionaires today. So my question is, how many billionaires have they raised if at all? How many through their teachings have become billionaires? This upward vacuuming of wealth from those in desperate need to those who are already comfortable is a stain on the church.
Primate Ayodele is boasting of a 150 million naira shoe, which of his members can afford that? What business is his church engaged in that he can afford that?
There is a prominent pentecostal Church headquartered in Abuja that a pastor of one of the branches, his wife and some members got kidnapped by bandits within the week. The assistant pastor was shot dead. The blogs aren't carrying it and everyone is moving on as if nothing serious has happened.
Do churches exist just to benefit the GO and his family? This is an error! None of them had up to #300 in account when they started ministry. This is empty and inaccurate statement. Do you want to tell us that a senior lecturer with PhD in sciences back in the 70s wasn't very comfortable? To leave that level to embark on a journey of known for the love of Christ, was it not a major sacrifice? I understand what you are saying. There are a lot of fakes now. For there to be fake there must be original. I can tell you that there are many committed and altruistic men of God. They are more than the fake. The society celebrates bad news more than good news. |

The fact of the matter is that the man has a cult-like following who believes in his unique political ideology. Anywhere he goes, people will vote for him; forget the social media rants. Cult like following? Watch out in 2027. In 2023 so many factors walked in his favour. Buhari and APC worked in his favour. Endsars worked in his favour. Element of surprise worked in his favour. obonujoker: So after all the subsidy removals, your government is still borrowing up to trillions?
Isn't it a shame? If you want to expand your economy you must borrow. Borrowing for investment doesn't mean that you are broke. Obi talked about meeting revenue target and still borrowing. A deficit budget means that your expected revenue is lower than your expected expenditure. The difference is deficit. The deficit is financed through borrowing. So if I have met my budgeted revenue target, it doesn't mean that I have covered my deficit. Sometimes when Obi talks I don't know what to call it. That's why in Anambra he said that he saved money but he had debt and no development. That's village economics. In contrast Lagos floated bonds invested and developed and today is the fifth largest economy in Africa. |

Why can't these refineries be built in other states of the country?
Lagos is extremely congested already while other states literally have nothing It's a private sector decision. They need friendly environment. They need security. They need large pool of manpower. They need infrastructure. They want to see governments that are investor thirsty and friendly. Proximity to ports and big markets. Besides Lagos is the Europe of Nigeria. |
