Mindlog: If the person does extra shifts in additional to regular hours, they get paid better than his/her Nigeria based counterparts, who also do extra shifts. An average Nigerian worker has a lot of time to himself even while on duty. Their problem is just that majority don't make good use of them. Those that do make a lot of bucks. This is not easily allowed in UK. They pay you per hour and you must work for every of the hours paid. Private phone calls are disallowed. Evaluate this too. |

Mindlog: And those living and working in Nigeria, do not have expenditure? How much does a single person save monthly from his or her minimum wage of N70K after expenditure?
But I know for sure what a single person would save from a minimum wage job after expenditure where I am, will be more than 4 months salary of his counterpart in Nigeria.
I Let there be no extra shifts ooo because I know the system ooo. |

Shawarmagirl: Reform this, Reform that. Stop the lies and propaganda. Any reform that is not reflecting on the people is propaganda. If you understand where we are coming from you will know that the full effect is not short term but medium term. That's what those statistics are showing. We operated a dysfunctional economy for too long. It made us believe and live like a comfortable people. The money has dried up to service the fake life. One information: before May 2023 people will make money abroad, change it to naira through black market, use the naira to buy subsidized fx from CBN and take it out of the country. You make so much from this. All you need is to settle your bankers. I did this through Form A. This is not available now. Tinubu has broken the backbone of corruption. This is the truth. |

Kanixt: In other words they have already spent the 1.5trn, now they are just formalizing it.... making it official It's in the budget. A budget is a statement of expected income and expenditure. Note the word expected. It's not a statement of money received and money spent. Every budget has a performance rate. This means the rate at which the fiscal realities allowed the administrators achieve set goals. The government might or might not borrow all that is approved here. One thing that I hate in this forum is that people ChoCho on every issue. Why do you need a deficit budget? How do you fund it? What is wrong and right in borrowing? Why is it that even the rich borrow? |

Shawarmagirl: One reason I like the UK is that everything is so organised you wonder what Nigerian government is doing with all the trillions borrowed and generated. You can be tracked for anything. Nigeria don't even have database. Apart from wealth, UK is a small country by size compared with naija. |

Even if I get an offer of N5m monthly salary in Nigeria, I won't resign from where I am, to relocate to Nigeria.

Throwback: It is partly a mindset problem.
Give some of them well paid jobs in Nigeria, they will rather choose to flip burgers and drive trucks abroad, just so they can pose in a winter jacket and head warmer. They have not asked why Soyinka, Utomi, Abarti, etc. have not relocated and celebrated. Why should Obiano come all the way from heavens USA to come and become governor? Sowore even with his American papers is in Nigeria enjoying politics. Why did Nnamdi Kanu leave his UK and come to Nigeria to make money through IPOB? |

He can’t even visit America and would never visit till the end of his strong tenure Nobi OBJ USA rate. Na naija. Back then Nigeria was very rich. Nigeria was major supplier of crude to USA. We were throwing our money up and down in Africa. Our problem according to our leaders was how to spend our money. You didn't need visa to travel to UK. As a youth I got admission to three USA universities. I went to the embassy at Eleke crescent alone, entered and spoke to officers freely. You could pay for books and UK exams by simply buying British postal order at GPO Marina. So then and now nobi the same. OBJ was part of the problem by manipulating the election and handed over to weak Shagari. |

Sangoamadioha1: The naval officer was acting under instructions. Wike should have taken up the issue with the naval officer's boss and not resort to insulting the young officer. As wike was carrying out his duty so also the young officer was also carrying out his own instructions. Wike should be dealing with the young man's boss but him, having some misplaced delusions of grandeur, felt he can bully the young officer. No NDA graduate will succumb to such bullying tactics. Wike is under the authority of the president just as the naval officer is under the authority of the C-in C. The young officer is not under Wike's authority. Notice how the DSS and the policemen (with the exception of one over zealous policeman) did not attempt to wade into the matter because they know the young man was acting under instructions of his superior officer. The officer acting under the authority of the C-in-C while protecting a private property of his boss? |

ebukal67x: Prof. Hon, you should know that the officer is a retired naval officer and not a serving one. That makes all your arguments moot. Being retired makes the case worse before the law. A retired officer is a civilian so why are you using the military to stop a minister of the FR from carrying out a lawful assignment? |

Nah! The Prof is trying to have fun by deriding the clubless player from Agulu. Academicians are human. They need fun. |
