The damage in our system has been total dislocation. It will take a lot of pains and time to fix. That is on the basis that we are consistent. Look at our tax system. No nation develops without an efficient tax system but this has been neglected for decades. Look at our energy sector - no reasonable electricity, no alternative energy, no petroleum refining capacity etc etc. The truth is that for things to reasonably work will take beyond two, three, four years. We need vision and consistently be pushing the vision.

Unfortunately our country is very complex. Just to reform our tax system rather than bring up economic arguments all manner of sectional, tribal and political issues are brought up. To fix this nation require an exceptional leader that has diverse capabilities. I'm not a BATist or APC but I have good knowledge of economics and finance.

Why didn't they see the flaw in their decision and take the part taken by Buhari/Tinubu. Rather they balkanized state asset, sold them to their friends, invested billions that produced nothing and made the power situation worse.

This is a whole technical issue that a page like this will not take. If you studied economics, finance and accounting you will understand that taxation is a key fiscal policy tool.

For example if I want to stimulate production I will lower the tax rate. Tax holidays encourages expansion. Pioneer relief can be offered to companies that want to enter into new areas etc.
