Onegai: I guess my concern is frozen, how and from where? I had no problem eating it outside the country but in Nigeria (where shady practises are a norm and they could be importing stuff rejected elsewhere or improperly frozen here), I'm more worried. Some gist went round that Nigerians were importing fish caught in areas around Fukushima.

Mackerel is salt water fish so the best way to keep it alive is by refrigeration. Unless you know a fisherman that can give you a fresh one . IMHO, salmon is nutritious since its in the same family as mackerel and tuna. But from what some expert say is that they are usually polluted with heavy metals.
myners007: The police in Lagos have arrested two security guards, Muhammed Kiga and Joseph James, for allegedly setting two houses on fire in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the two suspects, and one Musa, who is at large, conspired to commit the offence in November, 2015.
A police source said Musa and Kiga were employed to guard a property on Loius Fadipe Street, Thomas Estate, Ajah.
Musa, who owned a motorcycle, was alleged to have had a disagreement with the landlord after his motorcycle scratched the latter’s car.
The source said, “They had a disagreement and the landlord banned him from bringing the motorcycle into the compound.
“That angered him and on November 5, 2015, while everybody was asleep, he set the car on fire. In the end, three cars were burnt and the house was equally affected. It took the intervention of firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service to put the fire out.”
PUNCH Metro was told that Musa fled the area, but 20-year-old Kiga, his assistant who had lost his job in the first house, was employed to watch over another house on the street in the presumption that he knew nothing about the arson.
Kiga was said to have employed 18-year-old James to assist him.
But on November 19, two weeks after the first incident, there was another fire outbreak in the new building, leading to loss of property.
Kiga and James were thereafter arrested by policemen from the Ajah division.
The matter was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation to unearth the circumstances of the two incidents.
Kiga, an indigene of Borno State, denied having a hand in the two fire disasters, but blamed the first fire incident on Musa.
He said, “I came to Lagos two years ago to work and make ends meet. I became a security guard in the first house and was assisting Musa. I was paid N20,000 as salary.
“Just four months after I was employed, Musa had a disagreement with the landlord. On the day of the incident, I went to sleep around 12am. He was beside me, but suddenly, he left my side. It was around 3am that Musa went and set the car on fire. I did not have a hand in it.”
Kiga explained that he got another job on the street, and had barely spent up to a month when there was another fire outbreak.
He claimed that residents sighted Musa, sneaking into the property to set it on fire.
The second suspect, James, told PUNCH Metro he relocated to Lagos when his school principal asked him and his colleagues to stop coming to school after the Chibok schoolgirls were abducted.
He said, “I was in SS 2 when the principal said we should stop coming to school because of Boko Haram. And because I could not continue to stay at home, I came to Lagos to work.
“I had barely worked for two weeks when the second fire happened and I don’t know the cause of it. I went to sleep around 12am and it was 3am that I heard people raise the alarm.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Joe Offor, when contacted, promised to get back to our correspondent, but he had yet to do so as of the time of filing his report.

Nigeria is a gold mine graduates and youths arent just willing and always myopic to see it they are thousands of ways to make it without waiting or looking for a white collar job around.
Good point you have made. Transportation business is lucrative but capital intensive. But government workers get other pecks too which includes runs.
Entrepreneurship is the way forward, however I don't absolutely agree with the examples you gave. Those people you mentioned like truck drivers, earning better and so on is not the whole truth. It is seasonal and with the way government is today, it's not as buoyant as before. Good article though.

I finished my ND last year and proceed to work because I want to get my Bsc direct instead of going for HND. So I got a job at Palms lekki. Right from when I started, he was already showing me sign that he was interested in me but I just waved it aside. After working for about 1 year and 1month, the man asked me out but I ignored him and continued working, since that time he started treating me anyhow, shouting at me, but I endured. October this year, he asked me to choose either my job or I quit. I had no option than to quit. I used the opportunity to register for jamb and attend preparatory class. So, I told my mum I want to do part time job and attend lectures at the same time to get money, she agreed.
I started hunting for job and told my friends about it. Last week, my friend called me and told me about an opening in their organisation, so I went there on Monday. Immediatly I saw the manager I knew I was in for trouble (a manager with dread and ear rings drinking dry gin on duty). He saw me and smiled, ask of my name age and qualifications, I told him everything about myself. After the interview, he asked me to resume on Wednesday that's today. I prepared and went to work. After sometimes, he called me into his office and started saying silly thing "how he liked me from the first day he saw me, blah blah blah". I was just looking at him like ode, after saying his mind, the next thing I heard was "can we have sex now?". I was so shocked to hear it from him but all the same I played cool and started telling him stories of about my bf and how my mum will kill me if she found out. He still insist,i lied again that I was on my period, he said he want to see the period. I was shocked and short of words. These guys on the street are simply protesting over Buhari winning the presidency; forget anything else they tell you, they are simply very pissed that an Hausa man displaced GEJ from Aso Rock and they believe the best they can do is to destabilise the country to make life difficult for Buhari and APC (they believe the APC used bokoharam to make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ and they believe they are retaliating for GEJ). The only thing that can stop these protests is if Buhari steps down (which we all know isn't going to happen).
