There is something fundamentally wrong with the Nigerian youth

Why do Nigerian youths fail to put ethnic, religious, and every other affiliation sentiments aside and fight and defend their future!?

Can’t we think?

How long will the political class divide and rule us?

Can’t we see what they are doing?

PDP = APC = Political class

They are the same people. They cross from one to the other for their selfish reasons while we fight and abuse one another on social media they are looting us dry!

In 1989 the chinese youths and studenst went on hunger strike and they where without food for days demanding policy changes that will make their lives better - and today China is a first world country and the biggest beneficiary are the youths

What is wrong with us!?


Next month, November the electricity charges will be hiked by 40% and we are online throwing tantrums at one another


While South African youths are out protest the proposed school fees hike as I speak!


Is it a wonder that they are making progress and moving towards being a first world

Thank God you are thinking. You can imagine Amaechi having fun yesterday when questioned on corruption charges because he knows nothing will happen.

In a Nigerian family setting,every child is mandated to do chores to keep the house clean and sparkling so things can move smoothly,some chores are classified as feminine while some are for the masculine gender to do,but in a situation where only a gender dominate in a family the children are forced to do all the chores whether feminine or masculine...

Below are 5 masculine chores i did as a female child

1) car washing : washing of cars is seen as a male duty but i did it though am a female,because we had no male adult except dad..inshort i bet no guy on nairaland can wash car inside out as well as i can

2) clearing of compound : this is weeding of grasses especially during rainy season so everywhere can look clean....this is a chores i do every last saturday of the month,inshort i don't think any nairaland guy can handle hoe and cutlass like me

3) slaughtering of livestock : slaughtering of sunday chicken is a regular routine for me,now imagine me killing the christmas goat ...though this is a masculine chore,i bet some nairaland guys are afraid of catfish which i slaughter for dinner pepper soup everyday

4) jeans washing : you all know how stubborn jeans trousers and skirts are,i remember how i do scrub dad's jeans every laundarying saturday....



5) shoe polishing : shoe polishing is a chore i will not forget in a hurry,my dad's black and brown shoes always got a shine every morning,most times i tell friends about this,they have this suprised look on their faces ...i know the best brand of polish for shoes but am not gonna tell you all

Unidentified number of persons are feared dead after a bomb went off at a mosque in Yola, the capital of Adamawa in north-east Nigeria.



The blast occurred at the mosque in Jambutu on Friday afternoon.

The attack happened hours after a suicide bomb attack left six people dead in the early hours of Friday at a Mosque behind a Magistrate Court around the Polo area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

No group has claimed responsibility for both attacks.

They now launch attacks only on Fridays( islamic praying days)and Saturdays. The FG should by now, on Fridays, have their security personnel surveiling every worship centre. The immediate past governor of Rivers State Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has just been screened by the Senate following his nomination as minister. Shortly after the Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki acknowledged receipt of his curriculum vitae, Amaechi was told to highlight his achievements as a former speaker and ex-governor. This led to the question-and-answer session when Amaechi answered questions from the senators.



Earlier the senate minority leader Senator Godswill Akpabio said the PDP senators had resolved not to ask Amaechi questions bordering on the screening, disclosing they have petitions against the nominee. The Senate Leader, Senate Ali Ndume however opposed the stance of Akpabio and the opposition,saying as a former Speaker and Governor, Amaechi could as well simply bow and go.



On his role as a former chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum(NGF), Amaechi said,"'We refined governance and repositioned leadership under my tenure as Governor.All we did in the Governors Forum was to defend the rights of Nigerians.I find it difficult to do what people want me to do, if it clashes with my principles.Nigerian politicians believe there is need for compromise but not when it clashes with my principles."





On development in key sectors, Amaechi added that: "I believe there are resources in the Niger-Delta, that is why there is Militancy.If I become the Minister for Niger Delta, the East - West Road will be first to be completed. If you invest in Agriculture & invest in Technology, you will hire as many workers as you can get. In Rivers State we established two farms.We must improve on the Social Rights of the people; if you have peace you'll have investors.Why people don't invest in Nigeria is because the cost of investment is higher than the profit' We must also invest in Education; Some of our youths are unemployable".


On corruption, he further said: "I have never collected bribe in my life.If they send a girl to you to do something for her and you sleep with the girl, you are corrupt.Corruption is difficult to define. If we keep to the rule of law, allow a Governor to function as a Governor, that will be it."

Op what you say is the truth. Teaching in all these small mushrooms school has no future at all.
I remember when I finished service, I decided to getva job no matter how small. I read maths and I'm generally good in science. One day I was taking a walk when I saw a post that said a maths teacher needed.
The next day I decided to apply. At first I knew the school wouldn't be so good in terms of infrastructure. But when I saw the school, I was very disappointed. It was much worse than I imagined. The structure was dilapidated with zinc roof and wooden bench . I just smiled. It was so pathetic. I met the man who was to interview me. I looked at the man and I looked at myself. What I wore was far better than his clothes. I though is this man going to be my boss

So he introduced himself and I handed him my Cv. He gave me some maths questions to solve. I finished it and gave him my script. He asked me to wait while he gives another maths teacher to mark. I said ok. While waiting, he took me to the secondary site of the school (oh did I tell you they had both primary and secondary school?). He analysed how I taught the students.

After concluding the teaching, we went to the admin office. (In fact to describe the office na anothet thing). He told me that since I read maths, I should have some knowledge in futher maths and physics. I come look am one kind. He said I will take ss1 to ss3 maths, futher maths and physics. As if that was not enough, he added jss 3 maths to it. So he gave me the text books. I say . I said it's too much. He told me that the engineer graduate that was with them did I am about to do and even added Intro tech and chemistry. But because I read science, he has decided to give me fewer subjects.

He asked me how much I want as salary. I manage talk 50k. Him look me like say, I dey greedy. Na him he come tell me say make I look the school building. He come talk say, "do we look like people that can pay that amount?" I weak. After every every, he come talk say na 12k he go give me. Not sure whether it was 12 or 9.
In fact the next day I look for how to return their book. In fact ehn, I get another experience .

True story; While in Nigeria, I did not attend university and I did not even do a Hnd programme. I did what you would call a Higher Diploma programme. This means that after graduation you will not be allowed to serve in the NYSC programme. Now, this is the strange part of the story. I have worked in two multinational companies (BAT inclusive), two quality home based firms and also set up my own company. All in Nigeria at the time. Guess what a lot of my friends who went to universities were doing while i was changing jobs? they were searching for jobs. They used to ask me how I was doing it? I was changing jobs like someone does boxer shorts. I tried explaining to them my schooling started way back when I was like 3 years old. I had a degree in sesame street, comic bookology, cartoons, movies (not nollywood thank God, that shiit dulls your brain) etc. Basically my mentality was different from childhood. my first Nigerian boss wanted someone who could mix with big dogs and converse with expatriates and big wigs; ever had a conversation with an average Nigerian? believe me, it's very tasking and exasperating, as evidenced from posts on NL. My friends just couldn't understand that it takes more than book knowledge to be successful in life. The Nigerian youth needs to learn and understand this concept. Employers need adaptability and a refined thought process more than they need your book answers/knowledge.

Before my career education I enrolled my self in a skill acquisition, that will enable me live up to my expectations. Now I used my skill acquired to buy my self anything I want in life, though this is just a tip of an eyes Berg.

Your parents case might be a few exceptions but don't blame the OP. What he's saying is factual. This is something that happens everyday. The temptation is very high for both couple when they are far from each other.

The SSA to the President should have been fired a long time ago. His lack of etiquette in carrying out his duties, is shambolic and shameless. This fool, gave an interview where he shamelessly tried to deny the promises made by his party, by distancing the President from the party, like if the President won the election on an independent ticket. Later on, when the President went to Ghana, for a state visit, instead of selling our country, to Ghanaians, the fool was selling Ghana to Nigerians on his twitter page. Even when the Boko Haram sect bombed ABUJA, this dull@rd was caught pants down, sending silly messages on Twitter. Now he dumbly, decided to replicate his earlier propaganda hit by stating that the opposition was sounding like a broken record. Is this the way, a spokesman for a radical and serious President should sound like. Though, the President does not help matters with his itinerary of mistakes and stupendous actions, Adesina, could have done a whole lot better. If the President wants to be taken seriously, the time to do away with Adesina is now, not a year down the road, for if not, it will be too late.

I thought APC had 2 special advisers. Why don't we get to hear the voice of the other one ?
Btw, this Adesina guy needs to be tutored by Dr. Ruben Abati.
