opendo21: Well just think deeply about it, follow your heart. I was at this stage too during service and was also writing the ICAN exams but I just didn't have passion for all those book-keeping stuff (sorry to all accountants, but that's how I see it) someone introduced me to the actuarial exams, I did a little research and that just clicked it for me. It's tough but very rewarding as you can work ANYWHERE in the world once you are a qualified actuary.
Actuary exams ? Expantiate on it.
iHustle: We need mathematicians in reservoir and production modelling. Mathematicians make very good Reservoir Engineers. We can only 'see' the subsurface by applying the basic sciences, including mathematics. @ Op, just master what you are doing and you will be happy. I apply maths everyday in analysing and solving complex technical problems. Presently, I'm faced with a technical problem and I'm running to maths and physics to help me out. I am good with maths but I wish to know more of it.

I don't know why Fashola could do such a thing. And the reason he gave are laughable. Why didn't he deport the Aboki beggars to Kano ? Or the Niger people to Maiduguri ? The funny thing is dat he will get away with it. Nigeria is a country where U can getaway with almost anything.

Crime › Aswad Ayinde Arrested For Molesting His Daughters. by vislabraye(op): 8:55am On Jul 29, 2013
This news is beyond bizarre.

An award-winning Nigerian music director, Aswad Ayinde, found guilty of fathering children with his daughters will spend the rest of his life in jail.

According to Mail Online, Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, United States, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Friday after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly raping his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered.

Mr. Ayinde was found guilty in his latest trial of having intercourse with a daughters when she was as young as eight-years-old. The second sentence adds to the 40 year sentence Mr Ayinde received in a 2011 trial for sexually assaulting a separate daughter.

Mr. Ayinde is known for directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 smash hit “Killing Me Softly.”

In a disturbing disclosure during his first trial, Mr. Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a “pure family bloodline” by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that “the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.”

In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said. They occurred in numerous homes across northern New Jersey, even while the family was under watch of state child welfare officials, according to NBC New York. Some of the rapes even took place in an abandoned funeral home.

The family moving as far away as Florida to avoid investigation after case workers removed multiple children from the Ayinde household in 2000, resulting in Mr. Ayinde being arrested for kidnapping for trying to take them from state custody in a medical center, NBC New York reported.

He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and received a year’s probation – as he continued raping one daughter for at least another two years, according to officials.

The depraved father also beat and starved the girls using wooden boards and steel-toed boots for even “minor transgressions,” Ayinde’s wife testified at the first trial.

Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.

Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added.

With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit ‘Killing Me Softly, for which he won  ‘Best R&B Video’ at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards. The Fugees are also originally from Northern New Jersey.

olas2u: Dont educate people wrongly here, for GEJ to emerge many people contributed to his assertion as president.Insecurity increased during is tenure. All the issues you have raised are just a twist of the real story.GEJ is Incompetent president to rule Nigeria. We need another person that will improve security and engage in social and economic engineering.
But do you think Amechi is the righ person to become president ?
Politics › Re: Amaechi On Face-off With President Jonathan (Video) by vislabraye(m): 4:18pm On Jul 28, 2013
Alxmyr: The story was not properly told.
Amaechi decided to demolish the waterfront.
The people objected to it.
Amaechi invited the first lady to Rivers state, obviously to use her to endorse his planned demolition agenda.
She saw that Amaechi wanted to use her as rubber stamp for the demolition.
She refused to be used. And urged the governor to dialogue with the people first.
The press reported the event and scolded her for going against a governor's wish.

Political issue does not go straigh as you thought, my brother.

The first question you should ask was, who invited Patience to Okrika that day?
Why was she invited to Okrika of all places in Rivers by the governor?
Who brought the issue of demolition to the public during the visit?
Was the planned demolition part of the itinery of the first lady agenda for that day?
If you are in first lady's shoe, a governor brought you to your home town and said he will demolish your father's house, will you clap for him in front of your kinsmen; who obviously are against the planned demolition?
Why was the chairman of Okrika sacked the same day by Amaechi?
Why did he place the whole of Okrika under curfew for 9 months as a result of the incident?

These are underlining issues that Amaechi refused to face, but rather dancing around the globe granting interview.
A governor that claimed that his state is under siege, he was in UK throughout last week.
The opposition that he is following advised him right, he threw the advise to gutter and rather chose to dig deeper pit for himself.

He should be man enough to face his issues squarely. He has issue with Peter Odili, Celestine Omehia, Nyessom Wike, Okpara, Lee Maeba etc.

He is lucky to have GEJ as president, if I were GEJ, I will just do simple thing to him.
I will drop the Minister of Housing and appoint Senator Lee Maeba as a minister or even Celestine Omehia. Then he will understand the meaning of power.
Thank You for your analysis. That was brilliant; more like an insider's account. People should learn to look at both sides to a Story. How I wish to renowned prof should have heard this part of the story before calling someone else a shepopptamus.
Amechi knows how to play to the gallery but he's not a saint after all. Its just that people from GEJ's camp have not dug out his dirts.
Let's see how Amechi would maneuvre this obstacle. I don't know if he still plans 2 remain in pdp.

I hope de way Amechi is fighting, he doesn't have any skeleton in his cupboard. He must be blameless and free of any stain.
Well, GEJ silence is a sign of intelligence. We saw what happened to Ibori after all. Just watching.
