Oga! Focus on your problems and leave them alone.

They man and his wife enjoyed the multiple sex and orgasms that led to the six children.

They are the author of their own poverty.
That is a wrong choice of word to use. Imagine the woman wasn't helped to have family planning, she probably might have had another child/ren. Life isn't the way you preview it. We all can't mind our business and put a deaf ears and blindfolded eyes to things happening. If you can't look for means in your very little way to make life better for your fellow humans then you have no business claiming to love God

Imagine when the woman son was arrested for stealing phone and Op father focus on his own problem or mind his business, that boy might have gone way too far beyond redemption now

OP is on course. What he does is highly commendable. You know we all don't have same mindset. Op probably don't have the mentality of minding his own business when things are going so wrong despite his present condition. While you on the other hand might probably ignore it

This is pure love. This is the love Christ expected from us and not those fake romantic love

If I was the owner of the uncompleted building, I would make the man sign an undertaking to never sleep with his wife again....just kidding.

Life was not unfair to them but they brought it upon themselves. As hungry as they are, having no shelter but having sex enough to yield six children is irresponsibility and wickedness to the society. The man and woman should be separated and rehabilitated while the children should be confiscated by the government.

If we help them get a better source of living, I think they would relax and have more children. Those children are already a nuisance and problem to society. What is the location? Let me see if I can get social workers to evaluate them...
The woman had done family planning. I don't think they would have any issue concerning having more kids.

I have an aunt like that, she is educated....bsc for that matter....but foolish when it comes to giving birth anyhow, she and her husband are not well to do at all, and they have 8 kids and counting, she said she loves kids and will keep birthing more until God stops it on her behalf, the last time I saw she and her husband I couldn't recognise them, they were a shadow of themselves, everyone has talked and talked she wouldn't listen, the only reason I and my siblings really care for her is cos she took care of us when we were little, so I and my elder sis took two of her kids to live with us since we are married and then send what we can, now she's pregnant again and looking for who to take two more of her kids, you can imagine the foolishness

I kinda agree with Kobojunkie to some extent, illiteracy has a huge blame yeah, but ignorance, stupidity, and foolishness should take majority of the blame, cos like my aunt, she and others are aware of family planning but refuse to take it.
omo that your aunt deserves to be whipped severely wink.. Even with her education, she still had kids like fish wink smiley

She's even pregnant again grin grin.. Better forcefully take her for family planning before she birth 2 dozens smiley

I hate when poverty is recycled but condemnations won't help especially in a situation that innocent kids are the ones feeling the direct heat.

Villa12, I'll appreciate if you can get some information from them. Don't raise their hopes too high by asking directly, just take style do am.

1. A skill and/or small business the man can do. I'm thinking of motorcycle riding, keke driving, taxi driving etc.

2. A small business the wife can start and the cost of starting it. The one she has some level of experience will be ideal.

3. Cost of two years rent in nearby low income housing, even face me I face you kind of home won't be a bad idea for now as long as it will be conducive for the kids.

4. Schooling cost for the kids at nearby schools, at least a year cost.

Lastly, there will be need for direct contact with them but that can wait for now until people know exactly how and where to come into their situation.

Please update the thread with your findings when you're done. I believe there may be people willing to help out even in littlest ways.

Thank you.
God bless you richly for this sir

We can't continue condemning them. The deed is done already. Those children should be considered to avoid future harm.

Agriculture had been a gold mine, right before the Advent of crude oil and still exist till date. Moreso, it's the highest employer of labor

I'm a young graduate, in my mids 20s. I've been looking forward to Kickstart and venture into farming (Cassava, maize, ugwu and plantain) within the south Western part of Nigeria, ogun State precisely. The cassava would be processed before sales

I'm hoping to commence a large scale production (possibly 5-10 hectres of land) feeding Nigerians and going into exportation in no distance of time

Ogun State, being an aerable land, is pretty much good for farming. I've done all findings, feasibility study and risk factors of the said business. There's ready market for the farm products and security is much more guaranteed

Presently, Nigeria is going into food crisis with shortage of food supply. Leading to food disorder, hunger, malnourishment et al. Farmers are living a luxury life now, making cool cash without being boss left, right and center

My friend would always say and i quote "guy your 4.3CGPA mustn't be wasteful o." Job isn't forthcoming, no one to loan me money to materialize my idea, the financial institutions ain't helping matters nor the government encouraging the youths with free interest loan

Truly, your network is your networth. As poor man wey i be, my few circle are also hoping for a better tomorrow

Btw, had two other lucrative business ideas. Hoping to have one in festac town (which would be the only location in mainland to have such a business if materialize) it can only be seen on the island

I have never met anyone that lives the way OP is claiming to be living.

Dear OP, I hope you are not considering marriage yet, don't bring innocent kids to this world to suffer o, tell your desperate girlfriend to calm down and allow you make money or she makes more money that will be enough for the family.
I'm going through that phase now. Mine is even worst than Op as i based in Lagos with high cost of living viz a viz low standard of living. I practically live from hand to mouth.

I got curious how Op was able to keep a relationship with his present condition. We're truly different indeed. I'd easily get carried away having a relationship with my condition. I'm not happy with my present state, having a relationship wouldn't make me happy either

It is well!

Abortion..how many have done? You heard its the best way of terminating pregnancy. You didn't ask the consequence. How old are you sef?

I see, if it were you, abortion is the next option.?My dear, if it happens, don't try abortion o. It's a suicide note that kills gradually. You might be lucky to have it done successfully. Do you know how many kids, your creator has associated with you? When you now get married, with no pinkin, you start jumping from church to mosque as if God's your problem.

Don't ever advise a fellow woman to abort. Lots of repercussions ahead. The future is the key,not today.
hope you know being pregnant for nine months and child delivery is much more risky than having a D&C Abortion?

I'm not an advocate of abortion but you lots should stop painting it as the fastest route to lose her life. Taking pills or whataview is sure dangerous. But having D&C in a standard hospital is less risk than child birth

Education › Re: Unemployed Graduate Takes To Streets To Beg For Job (Photos) by VTJN(m): 9:10am On Oct 22, 2021
Then the street of lagos and other 35 states of the federation, including the FCT will not contain the unemployed youths (graduate/non graduate) if we all follow suit. Unemployment, insecurity, racism/tribalism, corruption, illiterateracy et al. All these ain't peculiar to Nigerians only. It was a list on our bucket. Resorting to carrying placard on the street demanding for job isn't the best approach to this predicament.

Imagine if we'll come out en mass in solidarity of not being gainfully employed? Isn't that a threat to the National security? Infact, many decades back with less population. Not all Nigerians had life at their back and calling. I myself isn't left out on this. I'm still on the look out for job (unemployed)

This government had already made it known to us, the president did asserted claiming there's no job for us. He does placed embargo on federal parastatals.

Moreso, state governors, legislators ( federal and state) commissioners, LG chairmen, councillors et al ain't left out in the picture. We should learn to hold them responsible and accountable to their constitutional mandate. All responsibilities shouldn't be placed solely on the president, keeping others at arm length. This had made them developed cold shoulder to our plight

Amidst all, the only power we all had as a Nigerians is our votes. Let's use our votes to bring in visionary and competent young man with track record. Let's get our PVC in the nick of time and come.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Waec 2021 Main Examiners Co-ordination And Marking Of Scripts by VTJN(m): 6:45am On Oct 21, 2021
ModelLook:
This post just brought Nostalgia to me now. I feel like crying. I finished my first degree and graduated with honours in Geography and Planning (2016). Around that time was when I discovered Nairaland because I wanted information on NYSC.

As we crossed over to 2017, I became a follower of Nairaland for News updates for my NYSC and of course jobs. Then I saw a post about WAEC Marking 2017.

Luckily for me, my name came out for service but was posted to Kebbi. I didn't go due to

- insecurity in the country
- the hausa drivers at Iyana Ipaja told me armed robbers were on the road and the bus moves by night. They told me not to go atall.
- I didn't want to go far.

I later got posted again in the next batch after waiting for 3 months at home. This time I was shocked to see I was posted to Ogun state. I now went grin (testimony for another day)

But before then, I decided to GATECRASH and Mark WAEC Geography while waiting for next batch.
Went for Coordination with my Certificates And documents for 3 days in a Government School at Agege, 5 mins walk from NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja.

I was given my Scripts (303 Scripts). I spent 5 Days marking. Morning and night. I didn't rest.

But my Unit Team Leader and Chief Team Leader were two TERRORS. The Chief Team Leader was just frustrating me anyhow. The Man has a bad attitude of complaining, shouting and shouting. He has bad mouth. My Team Leader who is a Pastor refused to be present to vet my scripts. I called him all through he did not pick my calls. I did all alone.

I marked the scripts well. I was given scripts of students in the far North East. They all wrote rubbish and performed woefully in Geography that year. It was just 2 or 3 private schools of the scripts I marked that performed well that year.

The Chief Team Leader having discovered that my unit team leader did not make himself available to vet me then told me to go and remark.
He didn't believe I marked well and started frustrating me in the Marking Hall on our meet up day in the presence of other teachers and examiners.

All this while, my unit team head who was responsible for submitting my vetted recoiirds to the chief was unavailable.

He later showed up and started his own drama saying he is a Pastor bla bla bla. He vetted some scripts and left. I think he even dropped the records sheet with me sef to keep. (Something that shouldn't be in my possession).

Meanwhile, we were meant to be vetted like 3 times before final submission. For the 2nd and 3rd vetting, baba was nowhere to be found.

Day of the final submission, I got angry. Everybody in Geography Department had started submitting leaving only me. I couldn't submit becos my scripts had not been vetted for the 2nd and 3rd time.

I went to the school and demanded I needed to see my unit head. They called him he was not picking. I complained my ordeal to the available teachers there and told them that I was done. They started begging me not to leave. I dropped the scripts there and left.
I called my troublesome chief examiner and told him all and that I was leaving. Baba started begging me on the phone not to leave. He instructed the teachers to hold me down till he came. They held me. After some minutes, I told them I wanted to buy food and that I was hungry. They instructed a man to follow me. The man was following me at a distance. Immediately I stepped out of the gate, I saw a bike. I just jumped on it and told the bike man to just be going anywhere. Before the man following me would come out, I had left grin grin grin grin

Before I got home, different numbers started calling me. I refused to pick. The troublesome chief examiner called me. I didn't pick.

The next day, the Overall Centre Coordinator For Agege called me. I picked. He wanted to see me face to face but I told him I was not coming. I told him all that I passed through.

He wanted me to come and do some sign off but I was already exhausted and didnt want to see the faces of the chief examiner and who knows "my unit examiner".

He then said that my Unit Examiner caused everything and he feels bad that he made me pass through that kind of additional stress on top of the marking especially as a First timer.

He apologized for all and was so sad. Also said they want young bloods like us to come in and take over becos they are looking for ways to remove those old ones of the system. Na Dem Sabi.

Well that's my ordeal as a first timer WAEC Examiner in Lagos.

In all, my advice for anyone going as a Gatecrasher or First timer is this
- Some Chief Examiners Are Just Problematic And Are looking for ways to frustrate First timers. On top how much Biko? N15K grin

- Some Unit Examiners Are Worse And Would not vet your work atall so that the whole problem will bounce back on you on the last day. They will not even be present like mine.

- They would be using the fact that you came as a Gatecrasher (First timers) against you and would want to be finding fault in your work.

Abeg chill, i spent 5 years studying Geography and Planning in the University and finished with good grades. What is O Level Geography that I don't know for heaven's sakehuh

- In all, N15K is not what the entire stress if u ask me becos you won't have time for yourself for like a week long. I kid you not. If u are not the type that can sit in a place while bending your neck for hours, DO NOT DO IT.

But hey, u can try it for the experience. Nothing in life beats having raw experience of something and who knows, u might be blessed with heavenly Chief and Unit Examiners who won't be out to frustrate any Gatecrasher or Firstimer in their unit.

I hope my story has inspired you all to mark.

Happy Marking!!!!
Interesting!

I also studied Geography and planning with a 4.3CGPA, fresh graduate though. I've been anticipating and looking forward to partake in this scheme (WAEC Examiner)

I'm also a first timer. Hoping to have the experience and also put some cash to my pocket for the mean time

Alas, this is about to fizzle out. I can't cope attending the 3 days coordination as a gatecrasher, which hopefully would kickstart tomorrow

Cost of transportation had skyrocketed (rise over the roof) making it somewhat difficult at my end to cope for those 3 days

It is well.
