gilmaro: Can u name one oe two principled men u know that can rule Nigeria?Any other person that will contest except Jonathan... |
SOH KAH TOA: Can any one point at where the minister of petroleum was said to have been indicted? That corruption was purportedly to have been carried out in your ministry doesn't make you culpable as she's not God to know everything and why the essence of this committee led by nuhu ribadu. This is not holding brief for anybody but I think this call is not necessary until they got a concrete evidence linking the minister to the said shady deals.Read again, the report said about 3 licenses were issued by this minister and of course she saw the reduced price NNPC was selling our crude to themselves while selling finshed product at the same market rate as imported fuel. What can be more indicting than that? We need to do something fast fast... |
magabyte: An intelligent muslim is know that Christainity is Tђe only religion that saves.Give Ϫ๑ข۲ life τ̅☺ Christ or ♈ōϋ perishReligious extremist... How has Christianity saved the Igbos from their evil ways? |
Rooneyboy: its a pity, so u belong to the religion of pissAnd the character in this article belongs to which religion? Islam? His religion teaches him to do this - disguise as a northerner to defraud his fellow xtian/Igbo. If he was successful, the victim will say Boko Haram threatened him and he had to pay N50k to save his own life. Now, how do you exonorate your people from the mahem in the north? |
skelemba: Lol funny so ur idea of peculairty is OKADA. I m not misleading anybody. The same thing applies both in wales n anypart of d UK. Pple walk. Trekking isn't a bad thing if u can cycle it cycle it. N d population of wales has nothing to do wit it. London is one of d highhly populated city in d world. Dey dnt ve okada. So pls if u r talkin about pecularity or innovative means okada isn't an option it is even embarrassing. Haba Lagos is a mega city cmon dnt u knw wots good for it. If u cnt walk it wait for a bus if u cnt wait for a bus. Dem move to somewhere where u r can get wot u want. My friend was affected in d banking crisis in abuja. After he lost his job he moved his family out of abj to lag sold his car n paid for a rent y cuz d cost of livin in abj is high. Things wud not alwaz work out for u if u cnt cope move around. There rsmaller states in nigeria. So pls dnt ever say lagos shud ve its own peculiar transport system n okada is d option. Pls what is okada.sef.Thanks my man - most of the people here seem to be mentally and physically lazy. All we want is shortcut shortcut... They dont want to trek, they dont want to wait and they see putting pressure on government to do the right as something unachievable. Our thinking is too shorterm - no vision, no planning. These guys think they are helping the Okada riders by not supporting the ban. They think they are helping the peopple/commuters by saying no to ban. How short-sighted can these people be? For the Okada riders, what becomes of their future if they waste all their useful lifetime riding Okada when the same person can probably own a farm land and get his life more organized. When the same man can focus on his profession (bet it carpentary or plumbling, etc) and get a more organised living. If government is an impediment to this, why can we all work together and put pressure on government? - state and federal instead of looking for shortcut and postponing the evil day while destroying your future. |
Why are some of my fellow Igbo people so stupid as to use an issue as grave as Boko Haram to extort money from other Igbo and non-muslims? Whether or not the suspect killed his victim, may God's wrath rest on him and those of the same ilk. At the heart of every crisis they ensure that Igbo names go in the wrong records, putting shame on my face - as well as those of sane and right-thinking Igbo. God save us from our brother-enemies.
How I wish even 10% of Igbos are like you? |
sucess001: Guy...y u arguing from two contradictory angles...u say u want total ban yet in same breath u say no one wud need okada if govt provided gud transport system and roads...meanin govt has failed to provide both..dts d reason pple nid okadas...dnt u tink its more logical to say okadas shdnt be banned until govt provides d gud transport system and good roads?Use Okada till when? Okada should be banned now so we all appreciate the problems we have as a nation and face it together - transportation, power and attendant unemployment. Okada is not a decent means of transporting human beings. Do you get that? |
pro01: Why do you people keep running from pillar to post? Some of you were busy arguing that the "restriction" on Okadas was not a total ban because they were only restricted from highways. That is NOT true, spreading such propaganda is tantamount to insulting the masses' intelligence. There is no need to LIE to the world that it was only a 'restriction', whereas in reality it is more or less an outright ban in many strategic routes that are not highways.I am advocating for total ban. That the state government has only restricted them to some roads is even what some people will call a good gesture. What do you mean by masses demand for Okada? Who asked for Okada as a means of transportation? We asked for good transportation system from government and good road network. If we have all these, who will use Okada? Okada can't be a substitute for good transportation and road network - so, let go back to where we stopped and begin to demand from government for good transportation system. |
Written by Isa Sa’idu, Kaduna Friday, 26 October 2012 05:00 inShare.3SocButtons pluginThe police in Zaria have arrested one Uche Owunna, 30, of Port-Harcourt Road, Sabon Gari, Zaria who is believed to be behind the various assassinations that recently took place in Zaria, especially the killings of Igbos residing in the city; all in the name of Boko Haram. The Kaduna State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Lawal, had confirmed the arrest to Daily Trust yesterday, saying that the suspect is now being interrogated at the police state headquarters. “A complainant came to report to us that somebody has threatened him. He said the person has directed him to pay certain amount of money or he will be killed. Having received that information, we went in and napped the suspect at the point of collecting the money. “Investigation is ongoing and this would help us to get more information on the activities of the suspect,” DSP Lawal said. However, a source that is close to the suspect, who craved for anonymity, told Daily Trust that Owunna was arrested on Tuesday by the police following a tipoff. The source said Owunna was arrested at a joint in Zaria when he went to collect the ransom he demanded. The source said luck ran out of Owunna when he called one Samuel, an Igbo man, of Sabon Gari, Zaria on phone and told him that his name was Ibrahim. “The suspect told Samuel that his name is on the list of Igbos to be killed in Zaria, saying that ‘for your gesture to me when I was young, I will not execute the mission. For that reason, I want you to pay N50, 000 only to stay alive’ the suspect told Samuel on phone,” the source said. The source further explained that Owunna had told Samuel that his gang was behind the killing of Dr Ago, a medical doctor at Zaria Railways Hospital, who was killed along two others in Zaria last month. “Having heard that the suspect’s name was Ibrahim, Samuel became apprehensive, thinking that it was Boko Haram. What came to Samuel’s mind was that Boko Haram are after him. Our belief here in Zaria is that all the assassinations that took place in Zaria were done by the Boko Haram. This was why Samuel went to report to police and they were lucky to have apprehended the man when he came for the money he demanded,” our source said. It would be recalled that Zaria had of late became notorious for killing of innocent people where members of the Boko Haram are always blamed for the act. Just last month three people, including the Medical Director of Railways Hospital, Zaria, were killed at a beer parlour in Sabon Gari, Zaria. Before that, a Zaria businessman and a mobile policeman were also killed in the same month. The frequent killings led to the restriction of movement of motorbikes to 9pm. Also, that made Igbo communities in Kaduna and Zaria to down tool for some days by locking their shops. http://dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news/179755-police-arrest-zaria-boko-haram-killer?device=iphone |
Jonathan for what? He can only deceive the fools, not me. That man should not even be a governor. We need principled men as leaders - men who know what leadership is all about. |
DANGOTEONE: Let Me Believe The Above Is Coming From A Local...Yes, a local and show me one ID of Dangote or Otedola son or daughter here. The guys are busy enjoying life and when they are done , they are planning the next one. Dont deceive yourself... Yes, they may have paid agents who drum support for them on social media. |
asemota2012: I completely disagree with you on the trash you are writing up there comparing Indian and Nigeria, you can compare better and more developed countries with Nigeria and I will reason with you but not Indian, where are you getting your baseless facts from? That we have more and more china nationals coming to Nigeria/Africa also means that Nigeria is more economically vibrant than China? I cant see any sense in what you posted above - do you know the population of India? Why wont they go to other countries to look for highly skilled jobs moreso that they have have they have the skill? |
yinchar: So that you can kidnap or rob them right.....I have a friend staying In India for the past 3years, and told me he has never i repeat heard about robbery for the past 3years he has been in India, their banks dont have security doors and no police guiding them, and still there is no robbery or any sort.....so lets ask ourselves where did we get it wrong, India dont have any known Natural resources and they are leading the IT and Medical field, even with worshipping lesser gods and deity...I know one thing for sure, its not about what you want people to think you are, its who you really are deep down inside U.....Lesser gods and diety to you. To them, they are workshiping God and is working for them. You that worship the real God show us what you do with it or how that has changed/improved your country. Nigerians are interesting ignorants... |
Interesting writeup... What we see today is not new - Nollywood started it - Fuji musicians, Juju musicians, movies stars, etc. It is all about making money and the wider the audience, the more money you make. Imagine people dropping 10 dollars or 10 pounds each as tith compared to the local churches where all we see is 50 naira, 100 naira tith. |
plaetton: Who says we are exporting religion?Interesting... |
Katsumoto: In terms of education, Indian schools are ranked higher than Nigerian schools. The Indian Institute of Management is ranked 11th and the Indian School of Business 20th by the Financial Times in the Global MBA rankings. Where were your Nigerian schools? You spoke well man... |
Chuks16: How do you expect our youths to read when our pastors, politicians, musicians, footballers, business men, 419,kidnappers etc, counts money in billions while our teacher and people who are educated struggle to make #100,000 in a month.I agree with you on this. |
kopite: Ajisafe, i hail you. from all your write up, i can understand your bitterness. you are probably a muslim and i know where you are coming from. first of all i want to state here that am currently working and living in the middle east and i have been living here in 5 years. I have interacted with musslims from all basis of ideology and it didnt take me time to know what you are made of. i have lived in egypt,UAE and presently sultanate of Oman. The arabic inscription on the naira s interpreted by my muslim friends are naira goma, naira biya and so on, but in hausa translation. No hard feelings. But you digressed and started projecting your islamic prejudice against the bible and how its been altered (story no different from other muslims here) and all kinds of historical conjecture relating to history and religion. I want to ask you, have you studied the bible before? have you openly questioned your Imams? what kind of heart of perception do you carry? Has there been any official figure from the govt of nigeria on the ratio of muslim christian in nigeria? whats the population of indigenous christians in the north? how many converts per year do we have from islam to christianity (check african islamic renaissance)? are they on the rise? and finally how islamic are you and where would you spend eternity?Give us the statistics of the ratio of muslim to xtian. Also tell us the number of converts in Nigeria and why coverts you gained have done so - is it out of conviction that xtianity is a true religion or just because of the need to survive or the promise of shortcut to good living through miracle instead of preaching hardwork and sincerity? Dont also forget to tell us the rate at which xtianity and church goers is increasing in Euro and US. |
pro01: You people should stop deceiving yourselves and insulting the masses' intelligence in your desperate attempts to justify the ban on Okadas. What do you mean by "highway"? Have you seen the list of roads Okadas were restricted from plying? If you have not, then please browse through page 3 of this thread; someone was kind enough to post it there. How many of these roads are highways?Wht do you mean by "masses intelligence" - we are all part of the masses or you think a rich man or their children have time for these NL discussions? Will you see Dangote or Otedola or their children chatting with you here? We are telling you there is absolutely nothing wrong with banning Okada on even all Lagos roads - go to other parts of the world and tell me where Okada riding is seen as a means of providing employment. Nigeria is in deep shit and that is why you see thousands upon thousands going into this business of Okada riding. People can live a better and more organised life by going into farming and any other artisan profession. Yes, government has failed us by not supporting the people and not ensuring regular power supply is available to all - this has driving many people into this business of Okada riding. But again, I would rather we put pressure on the useless politicians (PDP specificly) to support farmers and provide uninterruptable power for the country. Okada riding is not an alternative to decent and responsible living - it destroy lives and give people false hope that afterall, I can feed myself today - I shouldnt care future will take care of itself. |
Ajisafe: @Darlingbas, [I did not understand your post] at all. So, is Nigeria a Christian nation? Or, what the heck are you talking about? I checked out your picture, you look like those religious fanatics; people who are wont to foment trouble in Nigeria. I think Nigeria has gone through enough religious strifes. If you think by Obasanjo being a "Christian" he can just do things at will, you're joking.Yes, Igboz are mainly christians... and most Igboz can also do anything for money - 419, armed robbery, kidnapping, cheating and all forms of criminal and sinful tendencies including ritual killings. |
big mo: Can you see how poor your reasoning is? If you need food, you and your fada should go back to the village and farm. Ode osi. For the fact that people have been maimed and killed in okada accident, is banning the quick solution? Are more people not killed in car, bus, trailer and plane crashes? Then why not ban those modes of transportation as a solution too. Taxis are used for kidnapping, buses are used for robbery (one chance), then they should be banned too if that is our you reason. more people die in accidents due to bad road, then d govt which is responsible for such roads should be disbanded.Na you be Ode, no be me. Is your papa an Okada rider? Or you dey sell Okada? Okada adds no value to anybody in a decent society. Those guys can live a better life as farmers or artisans. Lazy fool, get that into your skool. |
Very bright star indeed... We are in hot soup. |
noblezone: As far as I know. For a people to move forward, it is very important to know where you are coming from, where you are and where you are going. The story of Nigeria and her citizenry like noblezone is a pathetic one and that of people who know not where they are coming from, where they are and where they are going. I won't say more than this because it seems the problem of this country is purely that of ignorant followership as demonstrated by noblezone. He knows nothing about the coup, he doesnt know what happened during the short reign of Buhari, etc - he doesnt know how Buhari came to the picture as head of state. So, arguin with you will be a waste of my valuable time - educate yourself anyway. The people that plotted coup for no reason in this country are irosi and his boys. They plotted the first coup that set the stage for other coups. They are the one you should blame for military. |

With the all brag of Igbo bigots and Biafra warlords, no south eastern state is innovative enough to make the list of African innovative states. You find it difficult to turn your states around and apply your boast, what will you do with Biafra if you get it? And if we allow you to lead the country, tell me how you will run Nigeria - like you are currently running Anambra? Igboz, Nigeria has moved beyond those village square fight and ideas. We can't allow our country to be run by villagers with stone age mentality. |
Super1759: give a rat a name and hang it, that is what our gov is good at. Obviously crime rate will be at increase geometricallyIf I were Fashola I would have banned them on all roads since. Of what good is Okada to us and the people thinking they are making a living from it? People have been killed and maimed - passengers and the riders themselves. They have also turned Okada into an robbery instrument. Please ban them on all roads - let them go back to their villages to farm if they are not lazy. We need food and nobody is farming any longer. |
naijatoday: Sorry if this has been mentioned in another thread.Environmental on Sallah day? No man - we are celebrating... |
Igbo presidency my foot... Nigerians will elect a capable Nigeria to lead the country. All those ethnic idiots must stop making noise. |
Standing5: They demonstrated that they don't need a refinery during the January subsidy protest. They can afford to buy fuel for any price.Yes, you are right man. Igbos dont need a refinery and dont deserve one. They refused to join subsidy protest boasting they can pay any amount for fuel - which is ok more so that most of them dont do real hardwork for money. They make money from 419, robbery, cheating, etc. Hence, they can afford to pay any amount for any anything including fuel. They dont deserve anything - Lagos will supply fuel to the united states of Biafra. |
Can those that were asking Bakare to stay away from politics also tell this man to do the same? Pastors are now politicians and they get so much involved to know how free and fear goes. What is going on in this country? When Nigerians are out there protesting against anti-people policies of government like fuel subsidy protest, you dont see our pastors adding their voices. Their own is to pray for policians and defend them. |
dygeasy ThE pRo: sincerely I didn't know we have people in their 50s on Nairaland.... I doubt you are 40 yet, so wah the heck is wrong with you? Don't generalize wah the aboki is saying talk about the youth in your family ok? No offence*Stop that trash... what has Aboki got to do with the truth the man said. Search yourself very well and you will agree with him. When you have the majority not reading, you can simply say Nigerian youths dont read - this shouldnt be too difficult for your brain to understand. |
The man said nothing but the truth. Search yourself and you will agree with him. The only thing we read here is Quran and Bible - all laziness and people looking to reap where they have not planted anything. |
