How does this nonsense you wrote change the reality that Tinubu is a big disaster??

Just open mouth whaaa.

The man is just making a mess with any move he makes.
It obvious he never had any plan to fix the mess his Apc created, now instead of make Him leave everything for bubu wey obviously smart pass am,he managed to do more brutal damages than what Nigeria saw in buhari's eight years in office.
It makes no sense to you aswell because you are myopic too.

Go to the markets and check the prices of goods at when Buhari left and now, people can no longer afford to buy food, Buhari left dollar to naira at 700 it is now 1500 more than double, we retrogressive from first Economy to fourth in Africa when Buhari left we were in first position, the inflation rate has gone up so high and numerous data there showing his failure is transparent for even the blind to see, Tinubu has never achieved anything meaningful since his 1 year in office
Inflation is a regular occurrence in every society or country. I don't understand how inflation has become a yardstick to determine that a government has failed in about a year.

As a journalist who has a right to speak or to his own opinion, he also has a responsibility to guard his utterance and maintain decorum.

His utterances have been unbecoming of a professional journalist. He sounds pained, hateful and antagonistic often times.

Professional journalists endeavor to separate their personal opinions from public discuss, create enabling environment for people to join the discuss that they wish to push or flog.

We were recently moved by AEDC from Band 'D' to Band 'A'. In fact, they move us without notice.

Sometimes they will move us to Band 'C', all without notice. I just bought a prepaid unit of N1,500 this morning and they gave me only 6.7 unit, in this harsh economy.

I got 41.1 unit last month with same N1,500 when we were in Band 'C'

6.7 unit can't last me more than two days for a minimal use.

My chest dey pain me. 💔 😢
Nigerians, can we try to be honest even in criticism of AEDC.

There's no way you could have been getting 41.1 unit for 1,500 naira under AEDC, in the past.

In the recent past, 1,500 naira will get you about 21 or 22 units of AEDC electricity but now.....

Maybe 4.1 unit on your band.
Politics › Re: We Need To Increase VAT Rate, Says Taiwo Oyedele by Wallade(m): 5:36pm On May 08, 2024
Ikpeyi:
The presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms says there is a need to increase the value-added tax (VAT) rate.

Taiwo Oyedele, chairman of the committee, spoke on Monday while disclosing the VAT revenue-sharing formula would be reviewed.

He spoke at a policy exposure and impact assessment session organised by the committee.

Nigeria’s VAT rate is currently 7.5 percent.

Oyedele also said the committee has proposed reviewing state and local governments’ share of VAT revenue to 90 percent.

According to section 40 of the VAT Act, the federal government gets 15 percent of the tax revenue, states share 50 percent, and local governments share the balance of 35 percent.

However, Oyedele said the committee is recommending reducing the federal government’s share from 15 percent to 10 percent.

“We are proposing that the federal government’s portion should be reduced from 15 percent to 10 percent. States’ portion will be increased but they would share 90 percent with local governments,” he said.

Oyedele said the committee proposed adjusting the sharing formula for VAT because it is a tax of the states.

“In 1986, we had sales tax collected by states. The military came up with VAT in 1993 and stopped sales tax so they said it would collect VAT and return 15 per cent as cost of collection and that is the 15 per cent charged today came about. But we think it is too much,” he said.

The tax expert added that the burden of VAT should be on the ultimate consumer.

“So we must make it transparent and neutral and this is what over 100 countries where they have VAT are doing,” Oyedele said.

“Nigeria’s economy is more than 50 percent in services and if I just stop at this, many states will be broke because VAT collection will go down by more than 50 percent and it won’t even fly.

“So we therefore need to adjust the VAT rate upward. We would ensure that it doesn’t affect businesses. The only thing is to look at basic consumption from food, education, medical services and accommodation will carry zero percent VAT. So for the poor and small businesses, no VAT.”

Oyedele said other consumers will pay a bit more.

“We have spoken to businesses about it and they won’t increase the product price. We want to make sure when we do VAT reform, no one will increase the price of commodities. We will work the mathematics with the private sector,” he said.

Oyedele also said each state should not be granted exclusive custodianship of their collections– because it would likely result in chaos.

1. The road will connect all the 7 ports in Nigeria together

2. The road will serve as alternative to lagos-ibadan expreway.

3. All major cities in South West and South South will be connected together.

4. The 700 kilometer road is not entirely new as there many federal roads within it so it served as way of repairing the bad federal roads

5. The coastal road will have rail, this will assist the new refineries to easily move their products.
I have tried to juxtapose the benefits in comparison with the forgone alternatives, however I feel the project is driven by selfish interest of some persons in the leadership position I. Favor of their cronies considering the process of award of the contract.

Why prioritize road construction over train transportation system

I have been saying this thing that Femi Gbajabiamila and Faleke are behind the witchunting going on in our party, Faleke is using Gbajabiamila and their efcc puppet chairman to hunt people they dislike. What power did Gbajabiamila and Faleke have to be witchunting people who made sure asiwaju becomes president? Who is Gbajabiamila and Faleke in the scheme of things? I hope asiwaju will stop all these rubbish before this Gbajabiamila and Faleke destroy our party. They were just privileged to be close to asiwaju but they have no weight, they are paper weight politicians.
According to what I heard by some important people, hmmm I hope asiwaju is still interested in second term kos he's killing it already. Elrufai is deadly and has a strong grip in the north. May Gbajabiamila and Faleke not destroy our party. Nonsense

Also I'm not feeling Remi Tinubu's impact as the first lady, as a woman you should watch over your husband's success and fiercely move against anyone that may try to bring him down with their reckless attitude. I trust patience Jonathan on this. Remi is weak. The two most outstanding first ladies Nigeria ever had are late Maryam Babangida and Patience Jonathan. Kudos to them

Don't dare argue with me, I eavesdrop in a lot of conversations by people that matters in the political scheme
Do you mean the situation of ElRufai and Yahaya Bella is witch-hunt in your party?

You mindset is so ridiculous and annoying. Especially on Yahaya Bello - Do you expect EFCC to turn a blind eye to his corruption and allegations against him?

🇺🇸 US Congress members from both parties have warned the International Criminal Court that Washington will retaliate against the court if it issues arrest warrants against top 🇮🇱 Israeli officials, Axios reports.

The report says legislation on the matter is already being worked on, citing House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican, as expecting a bill to sanction ICC officials but adding: “We hope it doesn’t come to that.”

Meanwhile, US House Speaker Mike Johnson slams the reported intention to issue arrest warrants over the Gaza war.

“It is disgraceful that the International Criminal Court is reportedly planning to issue baseless and illegitimate arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials,” Johnson says in a statement.

“Such a lawless action by the ICC would directly undermine US national security interests. If unchallenged by the Biden administration, the ICC could create and assume unprecedented power to issue arrest warrants against American political leaders, American diplomats, and American military personnel, thereby endangering our country’s sovereign authority,” Johnson adds.
This emphasizes the level of hypocrisy exhibited by the United States of America. I am very disappointed and pissed with the American government.

Now I can conclude that America orchestrated the war attacks, genocide and oppression of the Palestinians.

So Nigeria must obey ICC on Bakassi Peninsula but USA wants threaten the court to when it's decision is against their interest.

How can you be selling Nigerian crude oil, at given price into the future, without adequate provision for local refineries. The local refineries should have right of first refusal
