Tinubu has never lost a political battle since our return to democracy, I can't see him losing this either. In 2003, Tinubu once Obasanjo + Atiku + Afenifere + Ohanaeze and he defeated them, just few months ago, he fought the same group and he retired them all.
He has never lost in Yoruba land, but couldn't make himself VP to the point Osinbajo had to be nominated in his back. Pls know your history

That is the plan if buhari health is failing at alarming rate
Osinbajo cannot hold power.Apc has to gamble between tinubu or el rufai. If buhari dies suddenly rufai wil become vp. That is why a woman and muslim from southern kaduna is a deputy- governor elect. If buhari has to be incapacitated for a long period, tinubu becomes vp after Osinbajo resignation.
Just what makes u think Osinbajo can't hold forth as the President? And you now prefers a Tinubu whose political ideology is divert government's money to establish private interests as is the case with TVC,The Nation newspapers and several choice properties around Lagos.I should understand that your sense of reasoning is based purely on religious bigotry.
Health / Re: Lady Recounts How Carelessness Made Her Lose Her Partner At FMC, Abeokuta by wanger50(m): 11:10pm On Apr 27, 2019
tactius:
Inasmuch as I don't condone neglignence, there are a lot of issues with this story

1.Exactly what illness brought her husband to the hospital?? Was it something that could have been treated?? What was the prognosis?

I am asking this quesiton because oxygen is not given as a cure all...it is given as a part of what we call 'supportive management'. Patients have died on oxygen not because it was lacking but because their illness was terminal.

2.Doctors and nurses are not responsible for oxygen...it is the hospital's procurement unit. And this being a government hopsital...they probably did not have enough cash to buy enough oxygen

The thing is, we spend less than one trillion naira for over a 100 government owned hospitals. Recently, the head of one teaching hospital was quoted as saying that he gets six million for overheads...while the actual cost is 11million. Where is he going to get five million from.??

In my opinion, government should privatise tertiary healthcare and make primary and secondary health care its focus.

3.

I am a doctor, and I have told patient';s relatives several times 'there is nothing we can do'. Let me tell you of two such times

The first time was to the parents, and then grandparents of a newborn baby who ended up with severe brain damage due to obstructed labour. The child was rushed to the teaching hospital where i was with severe diffculties. If we had a ventilatior for infants, the child could have survived...but the thing is, the child would have been severely disabled...and may have died eventually. Telling the relaitons was the hardest thing I ever had to do...and it still hurts to this day, some ten years later.

Another time was a girl with a dilated cardiomyopathy. Heart was just a flabby mass...could not pump well. Everything had been done..all she needed was a heart transplant...not available in Nigeria. She died. 22 years. I nearly broke down.

Some of you people who insult and curse us doctors don't know that each death affects us too...and there are some we remember, even years later. And there are times when a patient, in grief...like the relation who blamed us for her mother's death...her mother's kidneys had failed...she was on lifesaving dialysis when she died on the machine...and it was all our fault. (We did everything by the book).

So, to the guy who said that the woman should slap us....well, I cannot hate you or curse you. All I can promise you is that we will continue to do our best regardless of the condtion. I do not expect your thanks when we succed...it is my job, and a postman does not celebrate when he delivers the mail...so therefore I won't celebrate when I save a life.

I love my work as a doctor. I have run , shouted, advocated, spent money for, cried over, lost my social life, worsened my health, so that patients can be comfortable, and lives can be saved. I am prepared to keep on working long hours, to keep on fighting, to keep on suffering, even if I do not get your gratitude, even if you slap me.....because it is my job, and if I and my colelagues walked away, things would be much worse....much much worse.

Every death affects me, and every death hurts me. I always find myself going over the possibilites. What could we have done,? What could have been done.? Sometimes I blame msyelf, and sometimes I never stop blaming myself. Sometimes I cry, sometimes, I cannot stop crying.

But that is the job. Some body has to do it.

So, I;ll keep doing it.

Thank you and good evening.
I'm seriously moved.God bless all Doctors. May you all make heaven

Europe, North America, Australia are all products of Christian homogeneity prior to the 21st century. They wers never perfect but we see what Christianity produced in those nations... Now looking at the products of secularism/atheism in China and North Korea, the blood trail of islam we can boldy say the world has proved Christianity to be the most forward thinking, progressive religion/ideology.

My religion, Christianity ended the killing of twins and human sacrifice in Nigeria, gave the world awesome universities like Yale, Harvard and the likes. My religion, Christianity runs the highest number of Orphanages, home for the elderlies in the world. My religion Christianity laid the foundation for Gender equality by the propagation of monogamy.

Islam on the other hand has left a trail of blood every where with nothing tangible to show for it existence. Islamic nations that have thrived economically did so DESPITE Islam and not because of it. The religion has murdered innocent people and have turned young men into monsters while turning young women into psychological and physical slaves.
You took those words from my mouth

So for ur mind u said something tangible abi?? So the road u plight everyday was designed by a doctor or the storey building u use was designed by lawyer abi?. See ehhhhh even the GP tank in ur house must be designed to serve you effectively. Don't come here and show ur ignorance ok
The road being built very close to my house here was designed and is being built by some two Chinese guys working for a Chinese company called CCECC.The most embarrassing thing is the road isn't even on challenging terrain yet Chinese have to be imported to come do it.It's the Obudu to Vandeikya road.I doubt if my GP tank was designed by any Nigerian Engineer since I saw a similar product in Kenya
Education / Re: Is Studying Engineering In Nigeria A Scam? by wanger50(m): 11:32am On Apr 14, 2019
CodeTemplar:
1. To start with, Engineering is largely design oriented and not building or development as people like to claim.

2. The Nigerian University system is set up to produce research focused or academic focused graduates and most practical Knowledge we ignorantly ask for from the university system is suppose to be acquired in polytechnics and Tech Colleges.

3. Your lecturers too were taught theories and don't expect them to teach you practicals even if they put in extra effort to get the practical knowledge they posses themselves.

4. the university isn't a place for practical focused skill acquisition. Polytechnics and technical Colleges are.

5. The average Nigerian is delusional and expects too be spoonfed with great ideas and their implementations. As engineers, they give you a knowledge of engineering principles and it is left for you to use your imagination to create things out of the principles you have learnt. In accounting, student are taught its principles and nobody takes them to a real life accounting dept to work, It is up to you to figure out what goes in where as you work with those principles.
This is what get me mad with our Nigerian "Engineers". We are trained to design:That's there motto. So what are you designing?Of all the engineering products I have around me and uses everyday,I can't find any designed by our Nigerian Engineers so why keep wasting money and time training them?I know what will happen if our roadside mechanics go on strike for a day even as I'm very sure the nation won't feel any pinch if our Engineers refuses to work for a year;that is if they have any work that they do at all

Deuteronomy 13:

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.
This is drawn from the OLD TESTAMENT when Christianity had yet to begin.I mean this was before the coming of Christ. Christianity is based on the NEW TESTAMENT. The OLD TESTAMENT only serves today for reference purposes. In Christianity we are not permitted to murder for any reason at all
