i used to save like hell way back then when i was a fresh graduate and working for a bank. as in, out of 174k i would save 87k and continue living a happy life until my my family needs some financial aid in the form of health, education or whatever and i see my hard earned savings disappear like FIAM! until one youth copper i was dating said "man your house is not so good o, no woman will want to settle down here" until in had that wicked malaria and typhoid that almost wiped me out and i started thinking of dying. who's gonna eat the money when am gone. forget that. now i even take loans from banks in order to invest. and do you know the funny thing, i even became richer through the investments. kai i am even looking for more loan to take.

guys are averse to joint accounts. some men even feel its dumb. if you pressure your man too much, he'd start being suspicious of exactly nothing. thats bad, trust me. what you should do, tell ur hubby you don't like being left without money to do this and that so he needs to ensure that your personal account is funded to x amount that will cover for all estimated daily needs and a little bit more. if he refuses that option, he's not being fair.

joint account would have done it for u guys but did you explain to him that his salary doesn't have to be paid into that joint account? thats the only reason i feel he wont like the idea. i have ten accounts. a mixture of dom, savings and current accounts. my wife can join me in any of the accounts except the one that my salary drops into.

I don't know the kind of people you speak with often. I work and relate with all kinds of people and I wouldn't note their bad language, if any. Because the few whose English language is bad also know another language or two. Or even more. We often forget that English is a foreign language and as such a large %age of the Nigerian people grow up learning their local language so I do not think you should bother yourself when a Nigerian's English is poor.

Heck! Have you been to France? They will sometimes even refuse to speak English with you even if you are in a desperate situation. You no hear when former French president Jaquese Chirac (or whatever) stormed out of a meeting simply because the meeting could not be communicated to him in French.

If you ask me, it is natural to speak a language, good to understand another, excellent to speak another. So from that I surmise that we Nigerian's, me included, are excellent linguists being able to understand, speak, write and speak more than one language.

Oh by the way, Je parle Francais.

80k is not bad at all. Why? Because I know families surviving on less. What is bad is that you cannot save from it, in fact worse is that ends do not meet. But worrying over it will only make your problem worse. Also if there is no hope for increased salary in the current place of work, it is bad. Hope, work and be on the look out for another job. But do not annoy your current employer, else, gbosaaa! Na im wey u go hear.
