Nonsense! No sane international businessman will come to Nigeria unless they're ready to get themselves dirty with our level of corruption. That's why Indians, Lebanese and Chinese are the only striving foreigners, because they know how to get their money out quickly - and our money too! Imagine a foreign investor who had $1m equivalent in Naira, and just overnight, Naira crashed and that $1m turned to $500k equivalent - no war, no natural disaster - just govt policy. Naira is too unstable and highly risky to invest in. Floating it makes it even extra unstable. That's not to mention the high cost of doing business due to lack of infrastructure, insecurity and the amount of bribery you have to do before you commence business. Love sometimes means you let go of that person so they can find the happiness they won't have with you. You have a family decision not to travel, what if it's the universe speaking to you that you could be in better position to help your siblings abroad? With her family abroad, sooner or later, she will travel. If she is smart, she knows it's unwise to stay back in naija because of a man who could dump her at any time. For the ordinary man, shares has always been a scam in Nigeria. Only venture into it if you're a big shot. If you are not a director of the company, or have a representative on the board, your investment is worth at most, half the amount you paid for it. Economic realities is also a major factor. It's better to invest in real estate if you're trying to secure the future. 4 Likes |

Yes and no. Such a problem is outside your professional expertise, but indicates you have what it takes to take on unthinkable (unexpected) challenges, and also how to manage conflicts in workplace. So YES. On the other hand, you can't say you paid them (bribe) or used soldiers to threaten them (human rights violation, assault). Those are red flags. So NO. Dododudu:If you can present you tackled the problem by engaging stakeholders, local govt, village heads, court orders, employing some of the omo onile as site workers, etc. - that kind of civilized approach (show you are sincere). Too late for where? With your web design skills, you'll make shortage of occupation list. Starting salary for inexperienced graduates is around £26k annually. There are high prospects for you! UK employers value experience more than certifications. You don't need to have a UK degree or certificate to get web development jobs. You must demonstrate you have handled production level projects, worked with teams and overcame unexpected challenges along the way. Age is not a barrier in UK if you have experience. All you need to do is - whatever you know, know it very well. Build your CV to showcase your experience. PremiumTech:Don't mind those people discouraging you - they have not been outside Nigeria. My advice - Let your wife use any work sponsored visa (care/support, teaching, catering, etc) and you be the dependant with the kids. There's sponsorship for dev jobs too, but they're mostly institutions that want you to be in the UK already. There's a whole lot of job options for you here (contract, permanent, remote). There is currently no economic reality that can bring the exchange below N500. Don't deceive yourself, except there is a serious natural disaster or intense war involving the US and OPEC countries respectively. There was no need to even start this project in the first place. At a point of huge borrowing to pay salaries we couldn't have afforded an airliner. Besides, even if it did kick off, it is meant to fail like the last one did. We haven't solved the problem that killed the old Nigerian Airways - corruption!
