Ggetter50: Thanks bro.
Sorry for much questions, please what did you claim the person is to you? Uncle, aunty or friend? And apart from you, have you seen anyone that has successfully gotten TRV with a non relative sponsor?
@ Maziude, Austinpee4, WIERDPC , Nogen
* Please, after paying 10,000CAD a year living expenses and a semester tuition fee, my sponsor account balance will be around N4mil, is this going to work out?
* Secondly, how can I prove the source of income of my sponsor assuming he/she business is not registered?
* Is business registered like a month before TRV application okay to prove the source of income? Or is there any particular period, month/year your business must have been registered before it can be used as source of income when applying for TRV/Visa?
I don't live in Nigeria, and the processing time for TRV here is 6weeks, however, am hoping to put in my application by February for Fall semester.
I would appreciate your contributions. Thanks. *How much is your tuition for a year, how many dependent does your sponsor have? Work with the tuition for a year, living expenses and a reasonable amount that will be left for your sponsor's business, his family, and himself. *What kind of business is he into, does he receive payment into his account, is there a receipt or invoice, ? I think best way to proof the business is through the tax registration docs and business registration docs. |

AKUPSME: Thanks So after paying tuition like 4 million will fly? It's not compulsory you pay the tuition before you apply for your TRV. Paying isn't a bad idea though, if you can afford to pay. Just read up on your school refund policy before making the deposit. Just to be on the safe side. |

matic12: Good morning sir/ma
Am asking you this on behalf of a good friend ni oooo...
He got research assistantship of $18,000/yr n his tuition is $9,000 / yr......
He came from an humble background so he don't have much on him BUT due to the way CIC are denying people based on Personal assets and financial status,i advised him to atleast PUT his statement of account with his application.... He said the only way out of these is that he has an UNCLE(is mum's junior brother) who is not willing to be is sponsor cos he doesn't want to drop is company bank account statement BUT that he promised to instruct is bank to pay a sum of #2.5million to his account.... His uncle will submit the following:
1. Letter been addressed to the bank instructing them to transfer a sum of #2.5million to my friends account...
2. Bank addressing a letter to CIC that on a particular date a sum of #2.5m was transferred from this account(uncle) to my friends account...
3. Certificate of Occupancy of uncles company..
4.Uncle writing a gift deed and been notorized that the money he gave my friend is to take care of other expenses and that the #2.5m is solely for my friend now...
*My friend plans to submit his study application by May 2018 but his uncle is sending him the money January 2018, the reason why he wants to submit by May is because he want to use the opportunity of his bank statement of account to runs the express entry which must reflect at least 6month statement.. So he said by April 2018, he will buy treasury bills worth 2.5m in his name to show the embassy that the money is for him and not his uncle anymore and then he will include the treasury bill certificate in his study permit application by May 2018*
Am asking you all this because his a wonderful friend and I told him I will seek advice from people in this forum Bros, How are you? My small advice for your friend what's the duration of the course? His yearly living expenses is 10k. 2.5mil is still less than 10k a bit, I think. If his tuition and RA are well read, I think he should be fine with the 2.5mil. Also make sure he considers other aspect of his application. Not just the funding. I don't know what you mean by Certificate of occupancy. let him get the CAC documents and tax documents instead. The course he is going for? I hope it's related to his previous studies or work experience. He needs a Strong family tie too. 1) Let him be certain his RA funding is 18k per year and not for the duration of his studies . Let him also verify that his tuition is 9k per year aand not per term. I say this because I made the mistake during my time 2) I don't really understand the express entry part. But I think your friend has a 5 months duration to build a good statement of account if he truly gets the money January. He can make weekly or monthly deposit into his personal account before he finally prints the statement by may. The bosses will still contribute. Best wishes. |

Thanks for your answers ...... The documents you have submitted with your application will be used to determine if your Visa application is refused or approved. Only in rare cases will you be invited for an interview for the visa application, unlike the USA visa application, where interview is necessary. Collected how? Processing time for study visa of Canada is 19 weeks, that is if you're applying from Nigeria. |

HiredGames: Well Well Well
The thread is finally moving as many fall 2018 admission contenders and pretenders are coming out of hiding. Nice
If you're just starting you hustling for admission against fall 2018 you may need to move FAST so as not to get left out of the party.
Last time I checked, below are how Universities in Canada Ranked.
1. University of Toronto 2. McGill University 3. University of British Colombia 4. University of Alberta 5. Universite de Montreal 6. Mc Master University 7. University of Waterloo 8. Western University 9. University of Calgary 10. Queens University 11. Simon Fraser University 12. Dalhousie University 13. University of Ottawa 14. University of Victoria 15. Laval University 16. Concordia University 17. York University 18. University of Saskatchewan 19. University of Guelph 20. Universite du Quebec
Choose wisely and intelligently. Canadian universities are attracting attention from everywhere. It'd surprise you the 20th placed school will bounce your "strong 2.1" if you don't do your homework.
It's funny how you can easily gain admission to a UK university (possibly ranked in the top 200 in the world) and get bounced by an "unranked" (outside the top 1000 universities in the world) school in Canada. I won't laugh because it's not funny
Like GlitteringStar advised already, spread your risk, apply to one or two top-ranked schools, one or two medium-ranked schools and two safe schools (low-ranked schools). This is to increase your chances of getting "funding" too. Admission plus funding is the real deal. wink
For students (like me) that just want that admission irrespective of funding, well you may want to consider the schools below.
1. Memorial University of Newfoundland (Tuition ~ $5,800CAD) 2. Simon Fraser (~$6,000CAD) 3. University of Alberta (~$10,000CAD) 4. University of Calgary (~$17,000CAD) 5. University of Saskatchewan (~$5,800CAD) 6. University of Manitoba (~$12,000CAD for the two years) 7. University of Victoria (~$5,428CAD) 8. University of New Brunswick (~$10,000CAD) 9. York University (~$14,000CAD) 10. University of Regina (~$10,000CAD)
PS: The above figures are not fact but a result of my extensive search.......so please, refer to the school website for exact figures before you pay application fee for a school you can't afford tuition.
I am in the race like ya'll are, so please reduce the DM I don't know anything. I hope we get that much needed admission and VISA. Also note that the tuition may vary with your level of admission. What I mean is MASC will differ from MEng. So Also MBA. Be sure to do your research well. The number of terms per year may also vary. All this information can be gotten on your prospective school website. Thanks Hiredgames cc: Ladon7 |

buggi102kruse: Grtins to the house Pls house I have written to many potential supervisors it's either their lab is filled or no response at all. My questions are: 1.can I apply for MSc program in Engineering without the permission of a supervisor? 2. Has anybody done this and still got admission If yes! My cgpa is just 3.91 don't know if it can earn me schools like Regina, Ottawa, Alberta and sask. I think I can afford App fee for about 4 schs but it will be too bad to waste all that money if they turn negative. Just like the bosses have stated on this thread on numerous occasions, securing admission is not all about getting a prospective supervisor, other things are considered such as your statement of purpose, your referee's report, your CGPA. No single Professor holds the right to give admission. He can only put in good words for you on the admission committee. So do well to apply to low ranking schools and middle ranking schools with a well packaged all round application. Best wishes |

Elvis6789: PLEASE SAVE A SOUL !!! Am really having issues concerning my reference letters. My school (University of Regina) is only requesting for cooperate email addresses for references. At first I submitted two cooperate email addresses from two lecturers in my school not knowing they are not functioning, so the lecturers couldn't access the email any longer, according to them, the problem just developed suddenly. As a result of this, I had to switch over to using the post office, but the problem here is that I can't change their email addresses I submitted to University of Regina and am scared of the consequence. Secondly, will I be penalized for changing from sending through email to mail (I mean posting the letters). Finally, also scared of the possible delay by the post office. Will the letters be able to reach as they are yet to send them but it will be sent on Thursday 15th December. Deadline is 15th January 2018. Writing from Abuja.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated. As for the delay in posting by post office, you can use courier service that delivers in days. More expensive, but very reliable and fast. I do not know about your school. Best wishes |

2. I'm not sure about transcript but I've seen various people submit it with their applications and as for getting it, you are entitled to collecting a student copy transcript from your school and they will give you that. Don't request for an official copy but for student copy.
3. NO, you don't need to write IELTS for visa application.
4. Presently, the processing time is 20 weeks.
I hope this helps. God be with you *4. 19 weeks processing time now. |

maziude: Hello Boss, let me address it this way.
1) 60k you arrived at is from where? Why are you trying to make your case more complicated?
2) what is stated in your RA letter? is your funding yearly? If it is stated there, then that makes the case easy
3) Go to your school's website, find out how graduate students with RA pay their tuition. Why? Most school allow you pay from your your paycheck. They deduct certain amount from your monthly pay to account for your tuition ( At least Uottawa does that). If you have that information, it would be easier for you to know how to go about your fund situation.
You will be left with a balance of 6000CAD since your tuition is 14000CAD. In this case, you only need additional funding from your mum probably 2k or 3k depending on how large you want to live. This is more practical instead of including your uncle which makes your case complicated. Remember, it is not how much an SOA has, it is always about how much amount whoever gave you the SOA is willing to give you, ( in this case, your mum has a high probability of giving you cash than your uncle).
4. If not stated in your RA letter about the frequency, then I would state 23k CAD. 20k CAD from school, then 3kCAD from.
Peace.
Disclaimer:
The above is my view based on the information you provided. Thanks boss. I will provide answers to all the questions 1. I don't want to complicate my case again Boss 2. It is stated in the RA letter that I have a 10k per year for up to 2 years in support of my thesis research work subject to satisfactory performance. I have a 2 years programme. Renewal of my financial support beyond first year is subject to research performance. 3. Payment for work is made by direct deposit, every two weeks during employment. Pay stubs are sent to the GA’s University of Windsor email account. Nothing was stated for RA. I'm assuming the graduate assistanship is thesame payment method as the RA. NB. Boss, on my program, fee information, my tuition per term is 7000 dolls. Thank you so much cc: maziude |

thesoj: Defer your admission. Why do you think the VO will treat your application in a special way and respond to your application in less than half the average processing time?
Also, why do you think the VO will treat your application drastically different if you are age 25 vs if you are age 26 at the time of application?
Either way, rushing to reapply doesn't help your cause of addressing all the issues from your previous application.
Per your question about your non-parent sponsor I already answered you about it in the past. Plus, this topic is probably the most highly discussed topic on the thread.
I'm afraid that you risk being denied for insufficient funds again if you are not willing to make the meagre investment of reading a few pages of the thread to identify how to address your previous insufficient funds denial. Please, I'm getting my documents ready for next application. I'm currently working on the Imm1294 form, I have filled my tuition as 14k room and board as 6k , others as 2k, funds available for my study as 60k , now on the who will pay my expenses, How do I fill it? I have 7 mill from my mum 6million from uncle and 20k from RA. Please , treat as urgent. as I don't want to make a mistake like the first application cc: GlitteringStar maziude thesoj |
