Your religion is your religion and mine is mine.priceless. I hope this will stop the wars. lol |
alright man. just learn to follow your own advice, ok? no hard feelings. ![]() oh jeez. I love being a feminist just for this. lol ![]() |
ok. sir. next time you talk about your ex-girlfriend. like you do in every topic, please follow your advice and don't hyperventilate over the color of her skin. lol Most of feminazi-wannabees do not live in Nigeria. They're tucked away somewhere in the West and watch anti-family shows like Oprah. This is the main reason that many Africans go back home to look for a wife and run from the confused African girls lost in the West. Even American men are going to South America, Asia, Eastern Europe and Russia to seek real women. The damage done by extreme feminism in the West is incalculable.oh no you didn't!! Oprah is my hero but don't worry, the feeling is mutual ![]() |
davidylan:davidylan. Is there any other thing you talk about on Nairaland than the fact that you've dated a white woman? It's old already. change the topic 'cause we're all yawning in here. always got to find a way to make the news fit around every topic. lol Islander:tell him. please. you would think he won 2 million jackpot with the way he tries to fit the news that he had a WHITE ex-girlfriend around every topic. I hope he doesn't get a new one. this site will be filled with spam. ![]() anyways, i like this topic . minus the titleghettochyk:took the words right out of my mouth. ![]() |
Christianity has really made women free but what did the world gain from their freedom.you're wrong. more like liberal dominated regions that aren't even all that religious. when they used to be religious, women were far from free. read: Victorian england, puritan new england etc why do you think most people call the USA and other western countries "godless" |
CNN must have probably sacked him just because he made them lose the Nigeria Image Advert contract which Jeff himslf said is unending in monetary terms. Wether the reality in the Niger Delta is close or not i think it is unethical for any journalist to make a sensation out of it by animation or stage managing the story, journalists should always report news as it is.I don't really care why CNN fired him. I don't even have problems with him. I have problems with CNN and most western networks' coverage of Africa in general. lol i might be biased. but I'm African. ![]() |
i don't think any woman (who feels that she has a self worth) should marry a man who likes her just for food. He loves the food not you. why bother? ![]() if a woman who can't cook has no value to you, go get a chef/cook and marry her? how difficult is that? or better still, go get married to food. yeah some men marry goats and cows in some countries. lol cooking isn't even all that difficult to begin with but level of interest matters. why can't these men learn to cook if they love food and are interested in it so much? |
no, you'll have to give it a shot several times. practice makes perfect. lol 10x a day or more everyday till the 23rd and you'll be fine. goodluck. i don't know what the lyrics mean but it seems like a really good song. good luck at your performance. |
@wesley its slow but lack of proper lyric could be a pain can you give me a couple of easy ones that i can learn merci très beaucoup mes amisdo you know the tune to the song? can you sing the tune? you should be really familiar with the song before starting to practice the lyrics. but it helps to look at the lyrics sometimes when you listen to the song. i won't advice you to look for a new song. stick to the one you have because you're already familiar with it and you only have 13 days left.
Ntre [b]amour ests plus profound quue lavie et plus beau que d'or et d'arqent"it should read: Notre amour est plus profound que la vie et plus beau que d'or et d'argent. translation: our love is more profound than life and more beautiful than gold or money. |
hey! once you're really familiar with the song and have practiced singing along with the lyrics several times, you'll get better. just listen to the song several times each day until the 23rd. I don't speak French but i've memorized a couple of french songs and in the process of learning one right now (i love francophone songs) is the song slow or fast paced? slow is easier, fast paced/rap will take longer to learn. it'll seem impossible at first but with practice, you'll get really good at it and after your first song, you'll want to learn more. ![]() bon chance. MP007:depends on what interests the individual. |
MILITIA:yes there are real problems in Africa. there are real problems all over the world. the niger delta crisis is also caused by the foreign oil companies who take the oil and refuse to do nothing about the pollution they create. no matter what Africa does to improve it's image there will always be the foreigners who'll only cover the negative. if they don't find the negative, they'll create it. ask yourself, when has the west covered any story on Africa that doesn't have a theme of violence, sickness or something of the negative? to me, Africa is NOT a "dark continent." light shines in Africa just as it shines all over the world (unless you look at Africa from a western perspective, then you'll probably find no light 'cause you'll only be looking for the darkness) It is okay to feel ashamed for how the world sees us--- that is why we have to improve on our images.we've been ashamed for how the world sees us for centuries. we blacks have always been ashamed for how the world sees us. how has this improved our image? it doesn't improve our image. the shame turns to self-hate and pessimism. Just in case you didn't get the "heart of darkness" part, It's an allusion to Conrad's book from the 1800s that portray Africans as savage primates without a past, and the land as a waste. Chinua Achebe has written works criticizing the racist contents in it. |
i didn't think the first one was that ugly. it's not beautiful but it's not HIDEOUS either. it's just that the lady wearing it us ugly. If the woman wearing it was pretty/ looked young, and smiling rather than making the disgusting face with a beer bottle on hand, i don't think a lot of people will classify the dress as ugly. all the subsequent ones were ugly, no offense esp the pregnant girl dress with the hole in the tummy. i'll not only get my money back from the baker but also charge her for ruining my wedding. lol. it looked like a 6 yrs old made it. The original cake is really pretty. |
CNN sucks. i saw the first 3 min of the report and i can't believe they still used the line "now, let's go into the heart of darkness" to refer to going to nigeria (Africa). and i thought this was something they did only until the 1960s. the whole video looked exactly like one of those reports they made of Africa then with the "savages" dancing around etc in the nytimes newspaper. It's a shame that they'll make something like that up then, and it's even more shameful that they'll be doing the same in 2007. racism still exists. i don't know why some people deny it. i'm mad at the biased pic they selected for Nweke. they tried to make him look like he was up to some mischief. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/africa/02/12/nigeria.reaction/index.html i wonder what article (if any) they'll write now that Nweke has been proven right. |
depends on the culture. some cultures prefer their women chubby and some like them skinny. With blacks (nigerians etc), skinny girls are treated worse imo. but it depends/ things are changing? but with whites, chubby girls are treated worse. but i think many blacks/nigerians etc are now leaning to preferring skinny over chubby (because of Americanization/ westernization). also like hot angel says, chubby girls are more likely to have nice curves so those get treated better than skinny girls. |
that probably means he doesn't know if he's going back or when he's going back (this is if he's being honest with you). when he's made up his mind whether he'll go back or not, i'm sure he'll tell you. lol |
kini difference? |
lol mr ikomi, e ti ko ara yin si wahala. ![]() |
i wore my hair in an afro today and made my bro take a pic. i would have posted it if you were online. |
if you've been dating him for two years, that's a long time to know what his plans are or at least have a clue. are you sure he's going back to naija? if he's staying in China then i guess he's might probably be staying with you. i don't know ![]() are you afraid to ask him these questions? ![]() we don't know him personally so we really can't guess what he's thinking. just because we're all nigerians doesn't mean we share the same brain. everyone is different. you can't get a correct answer here on nairaland. You'll have to ask your boyfriend or one of his friends that knows all his plans to find out the answer. |
America does whatever serves the country's interest good or bad. even secretly it has destabilized many countries' democracies and govt. just to get what it wants. ideology doesn't always translate to reality, and what america stands for is just ideology. i guess bush was just overconfident and didn't realize when to back down. but he can't be blamed for destroying "what america stands for" 'cause he was just following precedent. |
i won't advice you to try to convince your friends just yet. they'll think you're crazy or something. just say you like a change if they ask you or give weird looks. maybe after a year or two when they themselves start complimenting your lenght, fullness, then hint it at them. lol yeah, rock the braids till your natural hair is long enough for you too cut off all your perms (about 6 months or so. more or less depending on what you're comfortable with). or you can try twists with extensions. etc anyways, for starters, get a moisturizer (in form of hair lotion or oil). it should have no grease. some people recommend castor oil and shea butter. either one or both is fine. also, don't wash your hair everyday (it'll leave your hair dry but you need moisture). once a week or less is fine. Conditioning your hair should be the priority. use conditioner A LOT. never attempt to comb out your afro unless it's quite damp or moisturized. combing is also easier after a twist out or braid out. more importantly visit nappturality.com for transitioners. http://www.nappturality.com/forum/index.php?s=0cb9c269202a3ae77e2b7dfcaff60b72&showforum=4 just overall, take a look at the site. (i'm not a fan of locks on women either lol) i'll post a pic of my hair soon. it's not that long yet because it's only been a year and a couple of months and i made mistakes when i first started 'cause i didn't get any help. but i've learned (and still learning)and it's fuller and healthier than when i was relaxed. I love you so much for your bravery sisimose. ![]() i feel supported. trust me, you won't regret it even though you'll have some moments when you're frustrated (but when you think about it, you'll find out that you probably were more frustrated with a relaxer) |
it's 90% gone now. thanks. i just wondered what people do when it happens to them. if there was a trick to stop it from happening. lol |
