I know NAF does assist time to time. What i have in mind is a scenario where the air force is informed ahead of time of MAJOR military operations and the air force then dedicates surveillance platforms to cover and provide intelligence for the boots on ground. Attack Platforms can even soften up the enemy location minutes or one hour before the troops move in to mop up.
When the enemy is in this kind of disarray from the air strikes, I don't think they can effectively mobilize for any ambush, attack or counter attack.
This scenario IMO, should be for MAJOR operations. Soldiers on Patrols and in bases should have drone coverage (i am talking of these hand held mini drones not the CH 4 and WING LOONG variety). You can spot off-path ambushes this way plus they are cheaper platforms.

I am the first to admit that we are making lots of progress in the fronts but.... Theres a different level of joy when we are the ones that take the battles to them which we don't do as often as some of us would like....

Some soldiers may even take to Social media and by summing up all that they have said, it leaves you no doubt that they joined the Nigeria army due to unemployment. The thing is, these men are alive. @Wheym15, why do you think the military is not fluid in it's tactics? Why are we most times on the defensive or "tactically withdrawing" and attacking after the damage has been done? What is the problem, absence of good leadership, training or equipment?

Power drunk politicians sponsoring bandits – Gov. Matawalle

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has vowed to arrest any politician who enters the state with the intention to use thugs to forment trouble.

According to him, there is nobody that can claim to be above the law of the land, vowing that he had drawn a battle line with the enemies of peace in the State.

Governor Matawalle disclosed this at the Government House in Gusau, the state capital when the Nigeria Governors’ Forum’s delegation led by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State visited him over the release of 279 school girls in Zamfara State kidnapped last Friday.

“These power drunk politicians cannot stay in Abuja, Kaduna or anywhere in Nigeria and be instigating crisis and be sponsoring terrorism in the state, killing thousands of innocent citizens of the state for selfish interest,” he warned.

The Governor cautioned that nobody is a sacred cow or untouchable, stressing that he is now in charge of the affairs of Zamfara State, challenging any of the politicians to dare him and see the consequences.

It could be recalled that on Sunday when the Federal Government delegation visited him at the Government House, the governor said that many people would be surprised when the sponsors of banditry would be exposed.

The governor maintained that many prominent personalities were solidly behind banditry in the State and that their sins would soon find them out.
