Lol. That would be one conspiracy theory too many. Think of the risk involved in APC doing this. Those papers could "accidentally" get mixed with genuine ones, and I dont think under any circumstance, APC will even consider the motion of voting for their opposition.

from my own experience, I think that some schools dont send acknowledgement, you can only know about the status of your application via their on-line portal, but the mail was delivered yesterday, it may take them time to reply

Good evening house... One of my applications which I mailed on Friday got delivered this morning (according to tracking information). Isn't it supposed to be common practice that I get an acknowledgement email? I'm just curious because I got acknowledgement from another school when theirs got delivered, and I wouldn't want my application being in the wrong hand.

Ok. You could mail them explaining that your certificate isn't ready, and may not be in some years time. After all it's common practice in Nigeria to collect your certificate years later (I'm assuming you finished from a federal/state school).

Thanks Bro. I really appreciate your help. Sure, applying to 2 other schools. 2 courses in TUHH and 3courses in TU darmstadt. Below is an excerpt of the mail they sent me. I will begin processing my Certificate based on this.

I must say I envy your courage op. Inasmuch as Nigeria is not a bed of roses, life in general isn't.
But think critically as this is a very big leap of faith you are about to take; many Nigerians go abroad and despite facing all the factors you listed (and maybe worse in some cases), do not want to return. However, seeing that you already have a plan, I wish you the very best of luck.

Okay. You should be able to combine. But then, just as Ak said, I'll advice you write TOEFL or IELTS. That might mask the English score. Besides, many schools do not ask for University entrance certificate (O level) until enrollment, thus, you can apply and even be given admission without it.

I'll suggest you look through DAAD, check for schools that offer LLM and check their requirements. Furthermore, you can mail the programme coordinators to ask specifically and they'll reply you promptly... Hope this helps.

My brother. I don't understand if public opinion should be your yardstick for determining where to go for better education or your financial strength? Racism as it were is everywhere. Even in America, cops keep shooting at black lads indiscriminately and none of them has been indicted, let alone jailed. Even here in Nigeria there is tribalism everywhere, that is as between fellow Nigerians, their only fault is as a result of where they came from. Even if it is not that pronounced, it will still be there but I want to believe that bigger cities with lots of foreigners would be more open and receptive at least when I was in Cape Town, South Africa some 3 years back, I applied for several jobs and I went for series of interviews, my only problem then was that nobody could employ me just because I visited there with a Medical visa and not a student visa but my nationality or my grades did not really make much difference as I was able to handle the hot seats during the interview with about 2-3 people interviewing me at a time asking me to describe parts of a legal document and I did my best but for my kind of visa.

Moving forward, I want to believe that one should get even better opportunities such as that in Germany and other advanced economies if one has the right qualification and/or skills. We should all be thinking of learning their language so that we can get good jobs after graduation, that is, for those who would prefer to stay back to work. Nothing is wrong with learning it, at least for social and cultural integration so we can get along with our host communities just like we were taught during our service years. Do we all think it ends at NYSC? Absolutely not!

Lets be more realistic and progressive here. I see a Nairaland where we come here to make all manner of grammatical blunders in German language and we correct ourselves thereon instead of re-echoing what those people who never visited Benin Republic would tell us once you hint them that you are headed for Germany. If its better here, then why waste this much money to travel and study leaving behind our families, friends and our state-of-the-art toys (Cars) only to go and be catching train,tram and what have you? Whatever is what doing is worth doing well abeg.

Lets start speaking and typing german here abeg. Make we sef get Nigerian community for Germany with intellectuals at the helms of its affairs who are well versed in speaking, writing and understanding the language or those Nigerian ladies at the embassy who speak German like yoruba or igbo language get two heads?

Very well said boss. Nice write up. Though concerning the bolded, you should realise this is for "prospective" German visa applicants (although mostly students) and there is a separate thread for life in Germany where that concept will be much more suitable (I still wonder why nobody posts there).

Be that as it may, I see no reason why someone should be expected to prepare for a presentation/Assessment Center in Lagos from Port Harcourt with barely 23hrs notice!!! It's just not fair on so many levels.
They have replied my appeal for a reschedule, saying it has to be today or tomorrow, and I've already acknowledged my unavailability...

Photocopy before you certify!!! Do not send out that original copy unless you're 101% certain of going to the school!!! Take the photocopies to where ever and have them certified.

Well, that's what the Yorubas shout 'awon ayeooo!' for. . The problem wasn't the interview..it was something which we all might see as inconsequential.
My interview was on October 9. The post on November 29 was just what I did for others to learn. A reflection of prior events that I didn't talk about.
May be you should read my post from October 9 to know the full story.
