You're right about Nigeria's official language being English.. but the truth is we are not Native English speakers. Our English speaking ability is not by birth. We learned it and operate officially with it but doesn't really and will not exempt us from proving it as a satisfactory leveled language for US.
English is a universal language, even though other nationals (including us) murder the language with their/our local dialect and accent haha.
Another reason why I believe they request the cert is not only to prove that we speak or write in English but to know if we can convey a complex situation in a very simple, easy to understand way.. which could only be done via tests.
I think Crown has a very valid point. @ the bolded, I know A LOT of people who have been speaking English from birth, and can only speak English. What do you call that? Besides, is it not double standards when some schools exempt Nigeria specifically (e.g UniBonn) while others do not (e.g RWTHA)? @ your last line, Skyping is actually a more accurate way to determine a person's fluency in English because the topics under discussion can range from the technical to the academic.

Guy na waa for you oh! Why you dey do me like this? Why you dey make me feel like say I waste my time for all that long post wey I been make? I even gave you a link to a fairly concise list of all study programmes in Germany in my previous post, and told you to check them for their requirements. Now I see why someone would demand 150k from you. SMH...

Good Morning, pls am having knowledge gap abt uniassist. I want to apply for Masters in Finance, and I saw that there are applicatn fees to be ppaid 75euro, and 15 euro for subsequent applicatns, my question is how does this uni assist thing work, if I pay d 75euro, I won't need to apply to d sch directly, will dey give me admission letter. Secondly, has any body used master debit card to pay b4. Then do I need proof of english, is waec cert and degree credentials not sufficient. I contacted an agent on nairaland who said with 150k he'll get admission and prepare me for visa interview . (Is that possible). I will appreciate if I can get like example of 1 or 2schs that I can apply directly without english test, I have d proof of funds so all I need is admission letter and advice on schools thanks
Firstly, Uni-assist works by evaluating your credentials and applying to partnering schools (not all schools work with uni-assist) on your behalf. If/when you pay the €75, you won't need to apply to the school directly. If you wish to apply to another school - so as not to put your eggs in one basket - through them, then you'll pay €15 instead of €75. As for your admission letter, you'll get it from the school (or uni-assist).
Secondly, I have not used a MDC to pay before.
Thirdly, It depends. Different schools, even different departments in same schools vary their admission requirements. While some completely waive all language requirements for Nigerians, some others simply require a letter from your alma mater. Others though require that you write an internationally recognized language test (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).
Fourthly, if you had taken your time to go through this thread (and the part 1) you'll know quite enough to be an agent. Heck, give me 50% of that and I'll do same for you. Jeez. Don't be conned due to laxity; READ AND READ SOME MORE.
Finally, you can find some schools that you can apply directly/indirectly to, with(out) language requirements here: daad.de/en. Now stop being lazy and get to work!!!

PS.: Since money doesn't seem to be like your problem, I'd advise you write a language test, to broaden your scope...

Because it served a purpose. They knew it all along. Some may want to rationalise and say it was a smart move but in all honesty and considering the so-called integrity appellation attached to Buhari, it was outright deception, falsity and dishonesty. Omission or commission can both be classified as 'acts' and in this case, their silence in the face of so-called 'misrepresentation by Vanguard' was an 'act'.
True. I still think it's better than waiting till after May 29th though.

But this issue has been dealt with severally on this thread and the previous part naaa. Detach the page that contains the addressed institution and send the transcript to as many schools as you want. I believe you wouldn't be using the envelope from your school.

But that's true. It actually crossed my mind. Handing over on the 28th will create a power vacuum for some hours that can lead to a constitutional crisis which can lead to a military takeover, after all a country must have a leaderhuh

But that's just me being pessimistic. Hopefully, it'll turn out fine in the end. Hakuna Matata

zicoraads:
See them, running from pillar to post to defend their boss. Just as y'all made life a living hell for Jonathan's government...we intend to return the favour in equal measure. This is just the beginning. Y'all have no idea of what we have planned. I just hope that this government would also take it in its chin as Jonathan's did. We would be brutal. Very very brutal.
To what end? To satisfy your swollen ego? When you say "y'all" and "we", you do realize this favours no one, don't you? Even saying you will be very brutal to frustrate the efforts the president might make to make everyone's (yourself inclusive) life better is sadly depressing at best. And before you jump on that bandwagon, I was never for the insults GEJ got. I believe we have a duty to support our president whoever he/she may be, after all, in case of an economic/political crisis, everyone, not just people who voted for him will be affected.

Now my question is, when Vanguard and Co came up with the 'lies', why didn't they deny it then? Or, are they just becoming aware of the story? Even if he didn't, his silence showed he approved of it.
Probably the author was working for them to deceive the gullible. Probably the author was working for PDP to make APC seem like a silly party to the knowledgeable. Either way, whether you like it or not they chose not to. And while I believe they should have done so earlier, it's better late than never. If they had waited till he was sworn-in, you lot will still see a whole lot of wrong in that.

The APC shouldn't take millions of people for granted, we cannot be fooled. He rode on his promises to become President and he must fulfil each and everyone of them.
He rode on promises; some feasible, some not. If he can achieve anything close to 60% promise fulfilment rate, then I think he will go down as the best democratically elected president Nigeria ever had (you might think I'm silly, but considering the average promise fulfillment rate of Nigerian politicians, you shouldn't fault me on this)

N/B: I'm no APC supporter/apologist. I only support a better, greater Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Promised APC To Make Naira Equal To Dollar – APC by Williamso(m): 3:31pm On Apr 16, 2015
PDP supporters, try and get over yourselves. If you believed Buhari said that, then that's fine (I thought so and I felt it was a very dumb thing to say). But after reading this rebuttal, I had to do a bit of due diligence, and I realized it wasn't said after all; not even a single quote in the vanguard article or a video evidence (not 3rd-party trash). Truly, journalism has gone to the dogs. That's how they came up with the lie that Buhari promised to make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ.
Wonder why it wasn't debunked sooner though.

I don't think so. Your sponsor should be in Germany (I'm 90% sure). Why don't you consider schooling in the UK instead? You have a sponsor who's a British citizen after all.

Have you felt the pulse of the people of Abia? Don't be so sure thats what the people want.
I understand, and I believe you all deserve a whole lot better than TA. But as a region, you cannot go about endorsing PDP for all positions, then single out Abia governorship to be the exception. It just won't work. Since you lot hate APC so much, the smartest thing to do would have been to build APGA into a larger party and completely dissociate yourselves from PDP because whether you like it, PDP is TA, and TA is PDP...

The alliance between the Ibos and PDP is a match made in heaven. Abia should continue to enjoy PDP, T.A. Orji and his products; afterall they voted for him (senate) and his wife (Reps). His stooge should be no different when it comes to gubernatorial (and I believe his son will win in the state house)...

True! Playing the victim card sucks when it's an obvious trashing like this one here. UOU was being a sore loser. That not withstanding, I'll take exception to what happened during the presidential election in Rivers state. The entire exercise was a sham.
And yes, APC rigged in the North, but I can't argue for/against anybody as I am not on ground there physically or by proxy...

Why so much resentment for Ibos? It's becoming irritating. And the Ibos (on NL at least) are not even helping matters... SMH

TooNoisy:
If the Igbos were politically smart, they would all support Rochas Okorocha because he could be president in 4 years time. Buhari will most likely be a one-term president and when power returns to the South, it can only go to the South East. Unfortunately, only Rochas, Nigige and Ogbonnaya Onu are wise enough to see that.
This part actually makes sense. Instead of rallying round Okorocha, you'll see his fellow Ibos denigrating him on here. Speaks volumes about political naivety...

You aren't getting it right and here it is for you : Yorubas would rather remain stuck with Tinubu's dynasty even as he converts lagos to his personal property than run along with a liberal Yoruba man like Agbaje ,especially when he is loved by the very people the Yorubas love to hate over nothing.
I'm not joining issues with you, but I think the Ibos hate the Yorubas as much (if not more) than the Yorubas hate the Ibos, sadly. Besides, IMHO, Tinubu is corruption personified, but you have to give it to him; he knows how to dig up competent brains and he is a master-strategist. Someone I hate and love in equal proportions.
