Hello everyone, particularly the new folks. Well many people here may not know me again, though is not so important but I feel I should send this advise at this crucial point in time. PLEASE CONSIDER THE ECONOMIC STAND OF THE CITY YOU R GOING BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR SCHOOL O.
First I'll start with my story. I got two admissions more than a year ago one in Göttingen and the other in Hohenheim Stuttgart. Considering the status of both schools Göttingen by far is higher in terms of recognition (though my course is best studied Hohenheim in Germany and the 3rd in the whole of Europe I think). That aside, 7 months fast forward, I can say I really thank God for choosing this very place (Hohenheim)
Stuttgart is like the home of real hustle in the whole of Germany and students here don't have problems with jobs. Currently I harbour two students one from somewhere in Kanstar (pardon me cos I don't know if that's the correct spelling) the other from same Göttingen.
They came to work for the holidays. The real story here is that. Their stories really touched me, one said he has like 2k left, the other said like 3k. The 8k we hustle to get in Nigeria believe me, it's a small money here in Deutschland. I spend so much, yet if I tell you how much I've got left, you'll be surprise. I'm not saying this to brag cos it doesn't even add anything to me. But I'm saying it as an advise to you guys coming here. Find out very well about your destination and the rest will be history. I wish everyone the very best.

How are you balancing this with studies?

No problem at all(as was my case), or you will be rejected. Those are the only options after all.

this journey started since 2013, I tried Canada but was denied. my brother convinced me to try Germany, I tried Germany last year winter 2015, was also denied, people like Nelly and williamo, know my story. but hear I am today. I gave it another try and believed there's nothing God can not do, he proved his an unfailing God. even on the day of my interview Satan raised his head again, Babania is a witness, but God won the battle at last. I left my money in deusch account since last August having hope it will end in praise and it ended in praise.

Good day my e family, please those that have recently made payment for their UNI-ASSIST fee should help me out on the procedure, a friend that wants to make the payment for me online while i will pay him with Naira is asking me about the Uni assist bank "sort code" and the "account number" but i only have the " INTERNATIONAL BANK CODE(IBAN) AND BIC/SWIFT CODE" from the UNI-ASSIST website. All the banks i approached are declining to do the transaction for me due to this on going CBN regulations, they insist that if its not school fees for FORM A that i should look elsewhere. i really need solutions to this urgently.

I do take offense in the fact that ignorant people will read your post and learn Dutch from Nigeria, only to come here and discover that an entirely different language is being used. 1. I never said that you said "English is not a Language." I simply used your analogy to imply that. And as a refresher, this is a quote from your own post "Germans are the people and not the language in English, just as Deutschers are the people in deutsch"... You are intelligent so you should understand my use of implied analogy.
2a. English is the language spoken by the English... originally?? When did it change? English is the nationality AND the language! A person from England(not Britain) is English and speaks English (a person from Britain is English a Brit or a Briton).
2b. You don't think it's relevant nowadays? You should take a summer trip to the UK then!
3. Sweden and Netherlands DO NOT speak Deutsch! They speak Swedish(Svenska) and Dutch(I don't know this in the language) respectively.

Finally, I understand the point(s) you were trying to make, but you were absolutely wrong! The language you were probably talking about is Germanic not German -which is the same as Deutsch.
The Germanic language, which is not spoken anymore is where many modern day European languages were derived from. English, German, Dutch, Frisian, etc are from this language. So yes, Germanic and Deutsch are completely different, aber Deutsch und German sind absolut gleich!

I would believe this post is strictly for humor purposes. You just can't be serious. So please oh great one, what is the Language in English? By your analogy, English is not a language, but the English Language is a language! WTF? I don't get this. Deutsch is Deutsch and German is English. German is just the English word for Deutsch. It's just like saying there's a difference between English(English) and Englisch(Deutsch) or French(English) and Français(Français)

What do people post on NL?! The Auslander will find out and invite you to their office for questioning. I personally know a naija guy who was questioned and warned. Its against your visa rules. Because for you to earn 2,000€ monthly you're are definitely working full time. Full time jobs are only allowed during few months during the holidays.
For the 450€ mini jobs you have to bear in mind that your rent, insurance and other bills may add up to be more than that 450€ so what do you now do? Even if you have cheap rent the cost of living here is very expensive.
This I want to come and huslte spirit get it off your mind. Don't have a criminal record. Manage the little you can make, get good grades. Master your course very well. Sharpen your skills. Try and hustle get good research or internship placement. All to garner experience on your field. So when you get to the job market after graduation, you have something reasonable to present to the HR. Then you can get the money rolling in but definitely not now as a student.

Go and ask the schools you want to apply to! I don't think anyone here works at the admissions committee of any school in Deutschland.

Please guys forget about job prospects, everyone gets a job here. The job is not so important because the money is meager 450euro for a month.not matter where you are you can go anywhere you want. Concentrate on the study. I want to see naira landers asking about the workload and how to cope. Ask questions like how do we cope and get good grades. Do you know if you are among the first five in your class you automatically qualify for a scholarship here in germany that you did not apply for? I want to learn German for job, I want to skip classes for job. These are not important. Follow the routine. Concentrate on the study. Even if you can't get a job, the government is there for you as long you are getting the grades. There are emergency funds for both local and foreign students . I do a mini job, guys here say you should learn German, very good. I will still say if you cannot afford it and your study is in english, come to Germany and learn free just like I did. Before you programme ends you will speak good German. For a job well, you might be lucky to get one like me, what is important is after school. The job is peanut. After school is the main thing and you need good grades for that. Please be wise guys. I do not know anyone who couldn't get a job and because of that got frustrates because of money. But I know allot of people doing another master because the first one was nothing to write about

However, I will disagree on some (relatively trivial) parts. Learning German is not necessarily just to get jobs, but also for integration purposes. And that you will speak good German before your programme ends? If your programme is not in Deutsch, you will even be lucky if you can read good German before your program ends, let alone speak! (I'm not saying it's impossible, but......)

Nevertheless, please face your studies if/when you get here. If your head carry multi tasking, fine, if you can even face school, language and hustle (1 or 2 definitely will suffer; pray it's not your studies), then go for it! But don't forget that good grades are very very important...

Last Bullet: This goes out to all the incoming Computer Science and related students! Learn a programming language before you get here!!! In fact, prioritize it over Deutschlernen. I won't say more than that

Yeah that's right and uniassist has accepted many like that too, l believe the uniassist rule for seal is there because some schools under uniassist insists on it, otherwise uniassist do accept without seal, best option then is to mail the school.
I use myself as an example, a school l was to apply to wrote on their website that the transcript must be official, but this would have Cost me more, and certainly delay me beyond the deadline,. So l had to mail the school explaining the circumstances, l hammered on the delay aspect and got a reply that l can apply with my non official transcript. So in summary you can always commune with your course co-ord.

My point exactly! Not everything should be asked (and re-asked) here when a concrete answer is just an email away.

Omo iya!...The high court in Akure can certify your documents but seal no go dey am...and from what I yaf seen seal is needed if u r sending to uniassist and some particular schools. not all tho. Once you certify at the high court, look for a notary public like a lawyer to help you apply the seal...10k was collected in my own case after much begging for three sets of document. but you can take the free shortcut of the German embassy in lag...my 2cowries

Well, not necessarily... That's why sometimes it's better to mail an institution directly than asking questions (that have been answered a million times) here. My documents certifications were accepted by uniassist without any seal...

I've heard of this, though I don't know the procedure. And there's no BVN center in Germany (to my knowledge; I might be wrong). You could just contact the Nigerian bank you want, they will GLADLY listen to inquiries of this sort

Please what do you mean by "all the documents"? If you have read your school's requirements I believe they would state the procedure and how to go about it. So I honestly don't know the difference between "all the documents", and "the documents required by my school".
Go and get your original certificate because I'm not sure statement (for O'level, not for BSc) will be accepted. I hope I'm wrong for your sake...

Congrats to everyone getting admission/visa. I'm hoping for your sakes you have a basic understanding of German.

For those who it may concern (already in Germany) looking for cheap calls, you could try Skype to mobile calls. Calls to Nigeria are as low as 3¢/min and to German landlines at 2,1¢/min. Calling German mobile is relatively expensive though (9¢/min). Just my 3¢

First things first...I am currently Studying Computer Science Education in the Faculty of Education, i have also completed one year of study and afterwards deferred my admission as i was down with ill health and missed my exams. I have made plans to school in Germany,the financial aspect is also in check. My concern is am from the Sciences, but most courses in 100L were education related,just a few mathematics and physics courses of which i have a carryover(on two courses due to missing score) but my G.PA was 2.7. I intend to apply for the Winter Semester. I dont know if my studying education would influence the course of study now becuase i intend to study Automation,or Mechanical Engineering. Also the winter semester starts September,October and application deadline is Sometime around June,but when does applications actually start. Am confused about a lot of things. Pls i need ur guidiance. Thank you.

Your best option is to mail which ever school you intend to apply to with a scanned copy of your transcript and your issue before a formal application and ask what your chances are... Some may reply, others may request you apply formally, but it will be much better than expecting a definite answer here...
