I would however disagree on just one point here: "Go for your Certifications"
You even added that it basically adds nothing to your skill set and I see it as a waste of money (for a career in Software Engineering. I can't speak for the others). Without the necessary skill set, a certification is not worth the paper it's printed on and crossing the HR doesn't necessarily mean crossing the tech interview.


And furthermore, any HR that bases shortlisting only on candidates' certifications should be fired ASAP

Yes sure. You should even call if possible. (I had to do this, and even mail the foreigners office in my city to know my status; which was a good thing as the Lagos consulate did not forward all my documents until I inquired)

You can use mawista to get your visum from the embassy. When you get here by the recommendation of your school you can change.

Comparing the inner city of berlin and Munich am sure you know berlin is cheaper.

I'm not saying it's on par with Munich. I'm saying it's a great deal to get a "single room" for 350€ anywhere outside Marzahn and/or Lichtenberg (which for obvious reasons I wouldn't advise anyone to stay). 350€ may be feasible in a WG, but even that would be outside the ring.

My point is, contrary to the popularly held belief, Berlin is NOT cheap, although it's certainly cheaper than Munich.

Then you should read up! NECO is functionally equivalent to WAEC (you can confirm from Anabin) and there's nothing one can do with one that the other wouldn't suffice.

I just realised the possibility that you may be asking about direct admission to a University with O level. This is simply not sufficient regardless of the certificate (WAEC/NECO/GCE).

For 1, I dunno any school that outright requests for uncertified documents. The ones I know ask for uncertified before granting admission, the require the certified copies once admitted. Also, I remember thgat they said you can simply send certified copies to avoid double postage, so I'd advise that you're absolutely sure before you send uncertified documents. Unless, of course, you don't mind sending the documments twice

Hmmm it depends. Some schools require it, some do not. The requirement for each school varies even through uni-assist. I remember of the 3 schools I applied through uni-assist, one explicitly did not require it. However if it isn't mentioned, it doesn't hurt to write one per school.

I sent mine in hard copies though.

Is it safe to post the student copy? And what does it mean? Saw it on uni-assist information: *Submit your certificates as legally attested copies in their original language*

I applied to all the schools I applied to with the personal copy, and none had a problem with it

Its More easier of you have learnt German atleast B1 level then requested to travel to further your B1 to B2 or C1 to Start your studies in Germany. This has better chances for study visa application.

The Qur'an proposes punishment (death) to apostates, so how could/should there be people leaving and returning to Islam? I would like to get a deeper understanding of this, and it's in no attempt to spew religious bigotry/hatred at anyone. Islamic scholars generally agree with this with the disagreement coming from how long to wait for the apostate to "repent" (1 hour? 1 month?) or how many times to ask him/her to repent (1 time? 3 times? 100 times?) before being killed.

Would be nice if no one turned this into an online religious war zone.

I and my husband are interested though in migrating legally,getting a resident permit and then becoming citizens .
My question : Is schooling the only route to achieve this in Germany?
If yes,how much is likely involved ? My hubby is an Elect/Elect Engineer while I'm a lawyer.Neither of us has a postgraduate/Masters degree yet.
Is it compulsory to learn the language before immigrating or getting a visa ?
We do not have any family or friend in Germany.

Schooling is the most direct way to get here, but certainly not the only way.

If you or your hubby can secure a job here, based on varying requirements, then it's even easier. I know quite a handful of people who had zero German knowledge but got job offers and relocated from Nigeria down here (admittedly, they are all programmers).

The third option that I know of is the asylum route which you obviously do not qualify for.
