FACE REALITY , it's good for your health

Its always been wrong to cut down people's lively hood or family

Fulani regard their cows as family members, rumor has it that when a cow dies , they cry , mourn and bury it .. but when their woman or child dies they just innalilah and forget it

So , killing cows belonging to herders equals killing their valued family member
But they aren't pets. The cattle is bred to be killed and eaten. Do you now see that you're not making sense??

And that is the problem with you people

You want to pretend you don't know death or massacre will be the consequence , those people just need an excuse and they got it from Barkin Ladi youths

This is a reality you must face , Unlike Yeebos or Hausas , Fulani are even more stubborn , more cooperative and protect their interest jealously , that's not a line you want to cross

So until you wake up from not equating human lives to cows (which fulani people mourn more than their children or wives death)

HISTORY will continue repeating itself and casualties will get higher

And by "you people" you mean...? I'm not pretending I don't know the consequence. I am perplexed by this even being the consequence to begin with. Even more so by someone seemingly educated enough to use the internet finding ways to justify it
And for the umpteenth time, this is not about tribe but about lives so keep your tribal bigotry to yourself, or at the very least; away from me undecided

Hello coolscott , Good morning , you wrote very nice things but as expected of LiePob, you added a twist

Following that Logic, then The reprisal killings MAYNOT have happened, it could have been propaganda right ??

It's not may have , It happened, there is video and virtually all news papers in Nigeria wrote about it , so it happened,

When it happened i knew there would be reprisal attack , Fulani values their cow lot more than anything else ... Jos youths killed 38 cows on june 6th, Fulani were responsible enough to call Police to help them rescue 15 COWS that means Jos youths attempted to kill 53 cows

Now i am not saying the reprisal on Jos is deserved and no cow should be worth human lives, but in reality we all know this was going to happen, i had expected leaders in Barkin Ladi community to go to Miyetti Allah , call for dialogue and resolve it , but silence as they say is consent , at least from Fulani/ Miyetti Point of view .

I haven't read of Miyetti Allah taking responsibility but if they did , I do not think Police, DSS will want to arrest anyone because Miyetti Allah group have some very powerful members and patrons including Jonathan, i do not see anybody getting arrested , this issue will have to be settled amicably , You may quote me to insult me but this is not presidential pardon, Unless the individuals who carried out the attack can be found , Government won't clamp down on Miyetti Allah, there would be consequences, especially since some people's interest is to bring Buhari's government down by all means

Finally , you all need to change your mentality , if you believe Buhari is sponsoring / allowing herdsmen free hand they have , how do you explain the sponsorship of the incidents since 1999 it got worse under Jonathan

Buhari has nothing to do with herdsmen, He is not a member of Miyeti Allah the only fault Buhari has is that he is a Fulani man , which does not justify your claim

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-22528257

EVIDENCE OF HERDSMEN ATTACKS , JUST READ AND THEN TELL ME WHO SPONSORED THEM
I normally try not to get involved in internet name calling. But did you actually read this before posting? The fact that you can even remotely justify the killing of humans due to the death of cattle makes you no better than the criminals carrying out these crimes.

I don't care what tribe you are: There is no justification whatsoever for taking an innocent life like this angry

Career / Re: Degree Vs Certifications: Which Should You Go For? – A Detailed Guide. by Williamso(m): 7:50am On Mar 27, 2018
yorex2011:
Don't think I have any certification sef. I've just learnt to develop my skills via reading, practice and teaching.

Certifications at times may give you a fall sense of ability which may be misleading.

Though it is important in some special cases if it might involve use of certain tools or equipment that are not mainstream or that are proprietary or difficult to access outside of a training environment.

Back to the question, It will depend on the use case. A degree most times in Computer science is better than any other certification in that line (most of the time).
But a certification in Electrical Instrumentation might be more appealing than a degree in Electrical engineering

This post makes so much sense!!!
I could have emboldened everything just that I don't personally know much about Electrical instrumentation/engineering
Career / Re: Degree Vs Certifications: Which Should You Go For? – A Detailed Guide. by Williamso(m): 7:32am On Mar 27, 2018
I do not have the time to thoroughly critique your post, so I'll just cherry pick a few things.

In your first point, what Professional certification might one acquire for web development? I'm really curious about this.

Secondly:
Employers focus on those with skills not degrees

I agree with this, but I'll even take it a step further: Employers focus on those with skills neither degrees nor certifications.

The problem here is that people really don't know the purpose of a University and why they are there or studying what they are studying (due in small parts to posts like this). And then people come out of the university as empty as they got in (I'm also a victim of this).
As an example, you seem to be into web development so I'm sure you know about major frameworks, etc. The engineering of these frameworks requires a high level understanding of data structures and algorithms which every Computer Science program teaches. I haven't heard of any "professional certification" where you learn algorithms and its knowledge is priceless.

In summary, you can't say Certification is better than degree; it's not the degree's fault that most of the people who possess it don't even know why they did.

I have 2 degrees, 0 certifications and 0 regrets tongue

That is a very poor way to look at issues if u don't tell Ppl that r ready to learn how ur got were u are then there is no need u coming online BC how do u assist then if you don't give them the info they need. Only in Nigeria Ppl hide success for others BC they won't to benefit alone I am sure if its a hause person by now we will get enough info n sch n links even phone n emails of diff sch to apply our Ppl are to selfish sorry to say anyway tanks for noting if we no how to look for sch in Germany do u think 80% of Ppl will be her. Hearing of how ur in Germany gud day

Okay. This is a bit too much, but I'll indulge you.

I've spent the better part of the last years telling people how I got here. I'm not just alone in that; many people do. One of the most important ways was the ability to search this damn thread before posting anything. It's not my fault if I refuse to give the same answer to the same question to 500 people!

If spending my time that I don't even have on this thread replying reasonably to reasonable questions, replying PMs, and doing other stuff even outside this forum is your idea of "hiding success" then you have a very shallow mentality... Sorry to say. What do you even mean by hiding success? Because I want to benefit alone? Are you kidding me? angry

After the above BS, I still wanted to take you seriously until you threw in your truly bigoted tribalistic excuse of a retort! You have absolutely no idea who I am and I could be Hausa, or hause for all you know. So spewing your biased line of thought is not only shallow but infuriating and just plain dumb.

And I hope 80% of people here either know DAAD, Google or how to use a damn search engine else I would be utterly disappointed in my generation.

Have a good day smiley

PS: If you consider just living in Germany a success, your mentality is even shallower than I referenced above.

Why is it that Nigerians don't ask the right questions? angry
I have been on this thread for over 3 years now, and been in Germany for over 2 and I can confidently say that that is not a "proper" question to ask. Why? Because what is sauce for the goose is not always sauce for the gander!!!

Proper thing to do would be to apply to schools first, get admissions then get in contact with current/past Nigerian students in the school (if any) and inquire how life is in the school/city!

Expecting a list is a very lazy attitude and I'm not sorry that you find my answer upsetting!

Hi everyone,

I have a 2.9/5.0(2:2) CGPA in computer science and would love to apply for MSc in Computer science or Data science/analytics with 3 years work experience as a software engineer in a reputable company here in Nigeria. I've found some schools with those courses, they didn't explicitly state their entry requirements. Not sure if I stand a chance as I heard masters admission in German is highly competitive. Anyone been in this situation before or know anyone? Is there anything I should that will give me a higher chance considering my low CGPA. Thanks

Try to get TOEFL/IELTS and GRE (If you can).
Apply to as many schools and programs as you are qualified for, regardless of the city. Make sure to check CGPA requirements and only apply to schools that have a minimum CGPA requirement of 2.5 (German scale, which is your equivalent) or schools/programs where it's not explicitly stated at all!!!

Good luck

Good morning, which security courses are you taking about?? Don't forget, many jobs are trained within Ausbildung /Job training courses, so no need for university, since there are special schools (Berufschule) for it. So normally must courses at university are about science.

Many of these non-science programs exist in universities. It's all about certain dynamics;
There is no "job shortage" in these fields (in fact, there's unemployment) so there's no incentive to offer them to foreigners. As a result they exist almost exclusively in German. Except for private schools where the incentive is to get your fees.
If one learned German up to B2/C1, you'd be surprised at the amount of courses available.

The Ausbildung you talk about is available in almost all programs as well, including sciences.

1. if your language of instruction is English. You don't nees TOEFL /IELTS. Some schls states it clearly on their requirements. If you can't find it, pls ensure you send them a mail. But most schls I've seen always state it.

2. I don't know of private law firms.. But it's usually High court or Embassy. Again, some schls specifically prefers embassy.

3. Whch one is organization? Never heard of that. You can cinvert your grades yourself. Not necessarily before registering, if your grades are required in German grade system, you'll have to convert it your sef. There is a formula for that. No need for organization.

4. mostly berlin, since it's the capital. Ionno ofnother places. Hannover, hamburg, bremen and ulm are nt bad.

Numbers 1 & 4 are misleading! Please fact-check yourself!!! Thanks

Good day to all the Bozz in the house, I have been following this trend for a while now, and it's time for me to apply. But I av few questions to ask Biko.

1. I checked for some few courses at daad and they are requesting for ielts or TOEFl from the schools, I dnt see anything like English proficiency letter from school of graduation for their English requirements. Please is the ielts compulsory? .
If a school is requesting for it, then they're requesting for it! Asking here if it's compulsory will not change that as a requirement. The wise thing to do would be to mail/call the school explaining your situation and ask if this requirement can be waived for you!

2. Can I notorize my documents in a law firm, or must I go to high court or German embassy?
I think document certification is pretty much standard: high court, consulate/embassy or notary public

3. Is it required to measure my school grades to their grade point with the help of any organization that does that or so before registering?
This is difficult to follow. If you've been reading the thread like you claimed it should be evident already

4. Lastly will be grateful if anyone can assist me with names of good schools in Germany that I can study masters in computer engineering or computer science , that have a better location for student environment and hustle...where things can be easy for Nigerians. Thanks.

@williams... Is like you are the one complicating that simple question and the adequate answer for yourself. Any application you want to make, must duly follow the Instruktion. When you check the school Website and the school ask you to apply tru Uni.assist then follow the intruction or the school instructs you to apply directly to them tru sending YOUR docs by Courier you do so.

Applying tru uni.assist doesnt mean they have access to all German Universities. The have some list of universities they Partner with.

So decide and follow d right way

I fully understand this process, which is why I don't understand the rationale behind this post:
demmybite:
Please help me, which is advisable. To apply to schools directly yourself or to apply through uni-assist

If you have to follow the process required by a school/program, how can one ask for what is advisable WRT a particular school/program?

Yes. Take your time to check through the website. If it's not on uniassist, check the school website. Some schls dnt use uniassist some are direct online applications, while some require you send your documents via post mail.

So.. Check thoroughly and search. The school always explains how to apply. I'm also confident that Uniassist has that too on their website.

Again, check well.

Maybe you didn't get my reply to the post, so I'll rephrase: is there any school that gives the candidate the choice of applying through uni-assist or directly to the same study program?
