I use a note 8 and I love it It's just perfect. I mean, if you don't like it, you can just tuck it and use the phone like a normal phone... Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it 8 Likes |

GMBuhari:And by "you people" you mean...? I'm not pretending I don't know the consequence. I am perplexed by this even being the consequence to begin with. Even more so by someone seemingly educated enough to use the internet finding ways to justify it And for the umpteenth time, this is not about tribe but about lives so keep your tribal bigotry to yourself, or at the very least; away from me 1 Like |

GMBuhari:I normally try not to get involved in internet name calling. But did you actually read this before posting? The fact that you can even remotely justify the killing of humans due to the death of cattle makes you no better than the criminals carrying out these crimes. I don't care what tribe you are: There is no justification whatsoever for taking an innocent life like this 3 Likes |
Crime / Re: Plateau Killers Avenged Cattle Theft, Says Miyetti Allah by Williamso(m): 6:58am On Jun 26, 2018 |
I don't understand. What kind of country is this? Where cattle is valued over human lives... And the authorities can/will do nothing about this brazen admittance of guilt. It's really a shame the way things are run |

By this time 2 years ago, I would have strongly agreed with your number 1. Now I have to strongly disagree. It's not about swag, Macs are better for programming than Windows-based PCs... This doesn't necessarily mean they are better at everything though |

Career / Re: Degree Vs Certifications: Which Should You Go For? – A Detailed Guide. by Williamso(m): 7:32am On Mar 27, 2018 |
I do not have the time to thoroughly critique your post, so I'll just cherry pick a few things. In your first point, what Professional certification might one acquire for web development? I'm really curious about this. Secondly: Employers focus on those with skills not degrees I agree with this, but I'll even take it a step further: Employers focus on those with skills neither degrees nor certifications. The problem here is that people really don't know the purpose of a University and why they are there or studying what they are studying (due in small parts to posts like this). And then people come out of the university as empty as they got in (I'm also a victim of this). As an example, you seem to be into web development so I'm sure you know about major frameworks, etc. The engineering of these frameworks requires a high level understanding of data structures and algorithms which every Computer Science program teaches. I haven't heard of any "professional certification" where you learn algorithms and its knowledge is priceless. In summary, you can't say Certification is better than degree; it's not the degree's fault that most of the people who possess it don't even know why they did. I have 2 degrees, 0 certifications and 0 regrets 3 Likes |

cmoneke: Okay. This is a bit too much, but I'll indulge you. I've spent the better part of the last years telling people how I got here. I'm not just alone in that; many people do. One of the most important ways was the ability to search this damn thread before posting anything. It's not my fault if I refuse to give the same answer to the same question to 500 people! If spending my time that I don't even have on this thread replying reasonably to reasonable questions, replying PMs, and doing other stuff even outside this forum is your idea of "hiding success" then you have a very shallow mentality... Sorry to say. What do you even mean by hiding success? Because I want to benefit alone? Are you kidding me? After the above BS, I still wanted to take you seriously until you threw in your truly bigoted tribalistic excuse of a retort! You have absolutely no idea who I am and I could be Hausa, or hause for all you know. So spewing your biased line of thought is not only shallow but infuriating and just plain dumb. And I hope 80% of people here either know DAAD, Google or how to use a damn search engine else I would be utterly disappointed in my generation. Have a good day PS: If you consider just living in Germany a success, your mentality is even shallower than I referenced above. 1 Like |

cmoneke: Why is it that Nigerians don't ask the right questions? I have been on this thread for over 3 years now, and been in Germany for over 2 and I can confidently say that that is not a "proper" question to ask. Why? Because what is sauce for the goose is not always sauce for the gander!!! Proper thing to do would be to apply to schools first, get admissions then get in contact with current/past Nigerian students in the school (if any) and inquire how life is in the school/city! Expecting a list is a very lazy attitude and I'm not sorry that you find my answer upsetting! 7 Likes |

yettyRoot: Try to get TOEFL/IELTS and GRE (If you can). Apply to as many schools and programs as you are qualified for, regardless of the city. Make sure to check CGPA requirements and only apply to schools that have a minimum CGPA requirement of 2.5 (German scale, which is your equivalent) or schools/programs where it's not explicitly stated at all!!! Good luck |

doubletroublmum: Many of these non-science programs exist in universities. It's all about certain dynamics; There is no "job shortage" in these fields (in fact, there's unemployment) so there's no incentive to offer them to foreigners. As a result they exist almost exclusively in German. Except for private schools where the incentive is to get your fees. If one learned German up to B2/C1, you'd be surprised at the amount of courses available. The Ausbildung you talk about is available in almost all programs as well, including sciences. |

INCREDIBLE015:If a school is requesting for it, then they're requesting for it! Asking here if it's compulsory will not change that as a requirement. The wise thing to do would be to mail/call the school explaining your situation and ask if this requirement can be waived for you! I think document certification is pretty much standard: high court, consulate/embassy or notary public This is difficult to follow. If you've been reading the thread like you claimed it should be evident already Go to dead.de/en or better still, unilag |
