Don't dicht any of them, do both simultaneously, do a simple Google search with this term: studentenwerk heidelberg or (studenten Job)and look under job offers for students and the IT requirements,what employers are searching for from students.
Most student jobs start after lectures and the language courses offered by some uni too starts after lectures too, so you having a basic 5-6 months german knowledge before you come would really help and its not about having passed B1 or B2 but defending it by speaking and writing after 6 months of being here.

I know it's important to learn both. I just want to know which would be better to learn first. Chose programming because it's highly encouraged that the students (for the programs I applied for) are well grounded in it. What do you think uncle styles?

Learn basic German now, I repeat, if you wanna "purify" your hustle, look for the nearest language centre and learn German, you still have 5 months before the winter semester, LEARN GERMAN!!!!

Uncle Eke, it was written somewhere in part 1 that IT (with emphasis on programming) would go a long way in increasing the chances of non German speaking students to secure jobs (and possibly post graduation jobs as well).
My prospective field is IT, as such, I'm taking programming classes, and besides, some of the schools I applied to offer free German classes to foreigners. Do you consider it a risk worth taking to ditch the programming for German as both are currently mutually exclusive? Thanks.

OP, I don't think you know what you're writing. The greatest achievement by the ministry of petroleum under Allison-Madueke is the local content act, to discourage companies from using expatriates from jobs Nigerians can do, and where these expats must be used, a Nigerian must be trained to take over in a limited time. This, you left out to fill your post with BS!!! And its implementation has been good, though not perfect.

Still doesn't exonerate her from the gross corruption in the petroleum sector.

I'm not sure you clicked those links: 1 has 480 pages, the other has just 52. Every question you have and probably will have have been answered rigorously on those threads. And it's in your best interest that you do.
I'm not in Germany, so I can't say anything about racism, cost of living and job opportunities. What I can say is considering all those now is simply putting the cart before the horse.

I believe you're from the "East" (Dividing Nigeria by this model). So, let's say each region has 20 reps each. Wouldn't we still have the same argument as now when Ibos, due to their larger population, will deem it fit to have more reps than, say, the Ikwerres? And then, they'll start crying fowl and requesting for equal representation, thus continuing the cycle. There's a reason why there's a SENATE where all states have equal representation irrespective of their population.

And, you can't compare 3 zones to 2 (according to your OP) that's just ridiculous.

You have no idea the high level of racketeering that goes on within our ND for this O&G jobs. Why would a developed country (Scotland) in a free and fair referendum, choose to be part of UK? Go figure.

No it won't! I can give you so mant examples, but I'll give just a few; the Warri crises comes to mind as well as the dispute over the EPZ. The only kind of separation that will be favourable is for each tribe to have its own republic; which is near impossible. We keep complaining that too many ethnicities were fused together to form Nigeria, but we forget that the Niger Delta alone has much more than 50. Imagine what will happen when the Ijaws, the Itsekiris, the Okrikas, the Ogonis, the Kalabaris, the Ikwerres etc have the oil, but the Ibos have the population? The same marginalization card will be played by the minority groups, which will further begin the cycle.

we can better focus to solve the niger delta problems...my brother the oil and gas jobs are being shared so as not to even favor the niger delta...seperation will afford us the opportunity to enjoy what is beneath us...

Separation is not the answer to this, but what I will treat next is the answer.

The PIB, if implemented to the letter, in a corrupt free environment is the solution to the ND problem. This will handle the jobs for indigenes, local content, etc. I first heard of the PIB during Yar'adua, and when GEJ came on board, I was really excited that the bill will be passed. While the president has no power over the National Assembly, being a president involves knowing how to cajole your legislature into passing a bill you want. Five years down the line, we haven't heard jack about it. Because somebody will rather offend the common Niger Deltan than offend some powerful people. Very depressing I tell you. That notwithstanding, I'm still an advocate of true federalism, not secessation.

Keep calm. I'm actually from ND too, Warri to be precise. Call a spade a spade, what this administration did is wrong. That other administrations did it too doesn't make it right. It actually makes it worse because these ND people at the top are people that know our plight down here and are even supposed to pursue our rapid development.

You've gotten me really confused. Just checked again, and Applied Computer Science in University of Göttingen is a German taught peogramme.
Anyway, since the deadline was 15th,it should be too soon to expect a feedback. Some schools take 6 weeks for evaluation; some take even longer, so just chill. Wish you good luck.

Why did you "sign anyhow"? Of course it has to match - 60%, 80%, 100%, that I don't know. Seems you underestimate the importance of that document.

How about sending docs to someone in Lagos, who can then proceed to NIPOST airport terminal? Everything should be less than 10days, and the cost will still be reasonable.

Some people complained bitterly about that school in particular and Kleve in general in the part 1 of this thread with regards to hustling and survival. But said the school is great with regards to academics. Use keywords and Google to dig up the particular posts you seek...

Okay please my question would be like a suggestion: 1) Nigeria's official language is English. Apart from that there is hardly any school in this country that does not use English as a medium of communication and teaching. In light of this, i would suggest that Unis in Germany be aware of this and thereby stop requesting for TOEFL and IELTS exams (which is expensive to write by the way) and add Nigeria into the list of countries exempted from this language requirement. If in doubt a Skype interview with the applicant should be okay.
2)I would also suggest that the Embassy should introduce the use of Postage Courier for the return of Intl passports by asking for the postage fees during visa interview so as minimize the hardship of travelling and lodging in hotels for those who leave far away from Lagos. if successful the travel insurance can be done in the respective state, then uploaded or mailed as proof to the embassy.
Those are my questions what do you think?
