Good morning house. Been a while I was on here. Got to Deutschland on Wednesday and settling down has not been easy - Understanding the bus fahrplan and all. The cold in Kiel is something else, although I'm getting used to it already.
I guess I missed quite a lot on here...

I just have 3 tips:
1. This has been overemphasized; LEARN THE LANGUAGE! YOU'LL BE FAR AHEAD IF YOU DO.
2. If you wish to buy a Lyca Sim, DO NOT BUY AT THE AIRPORT.
3. Come along with an extension socket with a 2-pin plug (The plug of the extension should be like a 2-pin laptop plug) for all your chargeables.

I understand you. Was equally worried during my application period. My certification had just 2 stamps and 1 (or 2) signatures and all schools including uniassist accepted it. Go ahead, you have nothing to fear...

This is not a good sign: 7 days (5 working days) is too short, no request for insurance.
Now is the time to act fast. Think back, how was your interview? Are you going for BSc or MSc? If it's MSc, is the course related to your first degree? Are you using blocked account or sponsor? Did you (or your sponsor if applicable) give them any red flags?
Think about all these now so that when you get to the Consulate General tomorrow (except you're outside Lagos, there's no excuse not to go there tomorrow - No time), you'll know how to tackle the appeal, assuming it will be needed (I pray it's not, but I think it is a rejection)

Adapters and Sockets on WALL for EU different from naija own. So to use the traditional plugs you must have brought with you, you'll need a converter. Just type eu socket on Google. You'll understand.

For all those who haven't funded and had their interviews, stop waiting for any email as I did not get any either (Eke, if God no use blessing slap you ehn ). Go and fund your account!

*Tip 2*
For y'all looking for flights to book, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays give the cheapest flights of the week. Especially when your date is close

Oya where are the Kielites (The ones I don't know yet?)

within a week you should get a reply, all things being equal but you can hasten the process by letting the embassy know that your alien office notified you that they have given them the go ahead. I'm assuming this is actually true.

Please let's leave the rankings alone. It could be detrimental to the upcoming people. That number13 applied to only TUM and got in is the exception and not the rule! IF YOU APPLY TO ONLY ONE SCHOOL AND IT IS A TOP SCHOOL, THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE YOU WON'T GET IN. So what then happens? And even if you get into a lower-ranked school, placing emphasis on ranking could negatively affect self-esteem. So please, let's just let it slide...

Hello! No matter what you do, don't send money in parts from two different countries when funding your account for instance, some in Euros from Germany and may be another part from Nigeria. That's how I made my payments and by the grace of God, today is one week plus one day I have been happily anticipating confirmation from DB and yet no show. I have sent contacts and even emails when I felt it was taking too long, no reply from the main contact form but the responsd from the mail directed me to the contact form, now I have taken more actions, I found the official phone numbers of my branch and won't stop calling them until they produce the dam* confirmation.. Them hear am.... I feel DB is just too slow with their process for a German organisation... Ifesowapo micro finance bank in my local community will do better.

No cause for alarm though, I know some other people on Same situation so mine is not peculiar.

Nice work going on here. But on another note, if the VO asks funny questions, be bold enough to tell her you don't know (better than stuttering). Why will they be asking the date of birth of the first German chancellor? Do they know Buhari's birthday?
Abeg people any question wey dey one kind, tell them "I don't know"! They can't deny you on the basis of that as long as you know the fundamentals and some of the peripherals.

Please does court certify transcript too. Or It should be sent directly by the issuing school.

If your prospective school requires that your transcript be sent directly from the issuing school, please do that. However, all the schools I applied to (including uni-assist) required only certified copies, and all my certifications were done at Federal High Court. No institution had a problem with that.

Please anyone who collected his/her transcript from Rivers state University should help me out oh.since 2months now i've bin walking up and down for my transcript,every other document is ready only dis transcript abeg.it is frustrating cos i wnt to strt applying to schools this summer. And also any recommendations for a notary public to seal my documents in portharcourt will be appreciated.

Keep going every other day, and don't be scared to 'tip'. Your transcript will be out soonest.
As for certifying, why not use the courts (Federal or State high court)? I find it a much better alternative to the cutthroat notary publics.

Let me narrate a little story

Well I'm 19yrs Old.

My Dad enrolled me in a Language course in Deutschland back in January and I was bitterly rejected by the embassy for reasons of "My actual intention and Seriousness towards the course".

Time passed on and all. And my Dad still wants me to come for the language Course. and this time around he got a backing letter from the German Consulate there in Deutschland concerning my case that I intend coming for a Language course for a particular time frame and he's responsible for my Upkeep and all. Note the first time I applied in February I didn't have such a backing letter.


My worry now is do I stand a chance of getting the Visa after my appointment date comes up?
or they are still on about rejecting applicants for Language Visa.


Please I need answers.

For all I know, they've rejected a whole lot of people recently who applied for language visa. But I don't know if any of them had the said letter or not. You did not state if your dad is a citizen, and your highest qualification. Those might aid the bosses advise you better.

But on a serious note, there was a time on this thread (I think part 1) where people would fast and pray not to get any mail within 2 weeks of their interview because if you get a mail so early, there's a 90% chance it would be a rejection. So I think you should even be happy for not receiving any mail...

Bro, in every university there are a few departments where the lecturer-student relationship is quite poor. This isnt unique to unis in Munich so I dont get why you specify to Munich.

As regards rankings, they are based on both research and quality of teaching (student teacher ratio etc). As a matter of fact, European schools are affected negatively in the rankings by the fact that the quality of bsc education delivery in the classroom is sometimes regarded as poor. As you know the European schools require a lot of independence from the students than the USA or UK schools. So don't single out a highly ranked school in Munich .

Yes but you should also understand that when he is talking about authenticating documents at the embassy or anywhere, it simply means he is sending the hard copy of the documents to the school and not just only online application. You are to upload your originals and not authenticated copies for online or campus application sire.

I was just implying that generalization is bad.
