There is a Yoruba sayings that goes.

nobody is destined to be poor or rich, God has already bless the earth with every thing we need to be comfortable, they are natural laws governing the world,u simply reap what you sowed. After God finished creating the world, he comanded man to go and be fruithful and multiply. many people take this command as an instruction to bear uncountable children but it also applies to all facets of life.
John 3 27 John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.

If you want, hustle from Naija to America then to Europe, if you are not destined to be rich, Na so you go land back to Naija.

Every decision rest with God irrespective of the natural laws.

Hmmm.. Well said. But who do you say about this;

Deutronomy 30:9a - And the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the works of your hand. (NIV)
That,s the prayer of every hustler. The decision to prosper your works rest with God.

Your part is to hustle and work hard.

While lecturing us this evening, he opened the floor for argument concerning riches. Ways of making quick and fast money par say.

After listening to us, he humbled the class with this statement....

"If God has not destined you to be rich, no matter what you do, you won't be rich"..

I think something is wrong with that statement cos it got me thinking all day. Does it mean God has already destined some to be rich and others to be poor? In the sense that, paradventure, you're unfortunate to be among the destined ones signed and stamped by the Almighty to be rich, that no matter how hard you labour he 'll just be looking at you like.. Hey you man/woman, you're just wasting your time?

Thats the simple truth.

You do your best to hustle & pray, leave the rest to God.

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16, 9

The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. Ecclesiastes 9:11

the major problem is tse-se fly bro, am also thinking of something similar, but the breed should be our local breeds here, have started talking with my Fulani friends for more information
Stick with the White Fulani, thats what is available in the South West here.
Sokoto, Adamawa Gudali breed are not readily available from my observation, you may need to source from the North
Our local breed will do just fine in SS with good cattle mgt.

Incline:
It was a random shooting. He didn't know them. Basically the shooters were looking for someone to shoot dead, something about them being angry at the particular community and wanting to retaliate by killing someone there. The police released footage of the shooting this week and held a tv news conference about it some days ago. He had just left a building where his fiance lives. From what the police said, he was not involved in any drug, no criminal history, but it did look like they trailed him and they're trying to find out why and of course, find the killers

Walking in the wrong place at the wrong time.

One of my daily prayer point is to always be in the right place at the right time. Life sometimes ain't fair.

Can the rates in tbills and mmf be responsible?

I mean, an investor may see it this way "Why will I buy a stock with DY of 9% and still risk capital depreciation when I can get 15% from mmf while my capital remains intact"
You cant make money in stocks everytime... I made a substantial amount of money btw last year Dec and Jan 2018 buying stocks.
MMF/Tbills cant give me that huge amount within a short period.

Low risk comes with Low reward. The challenge is how to have a good balance with available cash btwn TBills & Stocks.

Hello Nairalanders,
I have a steady daily work that pays me a minimum of Atleast N1500 everyday and I've being thinking of creating an additional source of income for myself.
I talked to a friend/Mentor and he suggested I go invest into Agro business (Broiler).
He is currently into it and have full knowledge about it.
He will provide me with all the Technical know how and every other informations/knowledge I will need and we've fixed a date to sit down and talk about it.
My intended start up capital is N500k.
Location: Enugu East LGA.
How viable is this business?
Can I make my capital within 6months?
Can the risk be managed to the bearest minimum?

Note: The other work I do belongs to me and it needs my physical presence to thrive. Besides, I don't intend to abandon it for this poutry but I can be sacrificing 30% of my time for it.(maybe less or more Depending on the situation) Also, the guy is the Junior pastor in my place of worship.
I need your honest advice guys,
Pls dont start broiler business if you dont have mkt on ground.
Broiler business is only viable if you have a buyer that guarantee purchase of birds at maturity.
Making your capital bck within 6 mths is a tall dream... starting a new biz come with mistakes, loss etc and u need to learn the curve.
Pls keep ur money and continue to save and look for a viable biz.

[quote author=Atouke post=65660247]What are you saying? please look up Akwa Prime Hatchery in the same Uruan LGA where the cattle ranch is sited. All that you are saying is currently being done there and more. Do you know that Akwa Ibom has one of the biggest hatcheries east of the Niger currently, about 540,000 birds are hatched there every week, with an inbuilt capacity to produce more on demand. poultry farmers from within and outside state come there to buy their day old chicks because its closer than going to lagos or Ogun state where they used to go for supplies before.
The hatchery has one of the biggest chicken processing plant and feeds blending plants with several cold room and distribution outlets in the state. the value chain is such that established poultry farmers an youths are given given inputs like day old chicks, feeds and technical advise, while the hatchery processing plant has the right of first refusal to purchase their chicken when they mature. https://www.facebook.com/akwaprime/

This technical abilities driven through value chain is currently working in the state and Udom being a business man i know he has a plan like this for the ranch if not better.

key into what is happening in the state so you can dakkada too.
[/quote

Simply, the project with the Mexican is not sustainable and a complete waste of the state scarce resources.

How do i key into the state govt cow ranching when there is no provision for individuals in the first place ?

Say what you know, The san carlos group already has experience in Nigeria. They have a market for their products they are not just into cattle ranching but into other produce.
they are the preferred supplier of produce to shoprite and many other retail facilities so dont worry your self this is not like any state funded songhai farm. this is a solid PPP bussiness with soild off-takers.

And you are not more cowboy than a mexican. Mexicans run all the cattle ranches in USA and Canada. They are the Agricultural Muscle in North American farms.
Akwa Ibom state govt only need to sign a 5- 10 yrs agreement with the Mexican to provide support to local farmers and develop that sector.
Let them teach our local people how to run cattle ranches successfully with the required standard so they can supply Shoprite etc
This is the model Kenya used with a partnership with the Dutch since d 80s to develop their dairy sector.
Kenya dairy sector output is abt 5.2 billion litres of milk per annum with estimated 1 million jobs at farm level and an additional 500,000 in direct waged employment and another 750,000 jobs in support services.

What you do as a state govt is to empower your people !
This administration has come, another administration will surely come.
San Carlos group will become history with another administration.
Carlos Group should be providing technical support to locals with the aim of making Akwa Ibom State, the hub of cow farming for a specified no of years and should not be involved in same biz.
Empowering Akwa Ibom locals and generation to come is the only sustainable way of doing business in this environment.
50,000 local farmers will & can do better than San Carlos group with technical support and conducive environment provided by the State govt.
Just imagine how exciting it will be for Akwa Ibom farmers to be the preferred supplier of fresh cow meat to Shoprite and milk to Wamco etc
It will create a movement and massive employment that future administration cant stop.

O boy why you the take panadol for another person headache?
Do you think any sensible business man will bring their money all to way from mexico to invest in a Farm in Nigeria without doing his feasibility studies? This is a PPP with Akwa Ibom State govt. Not a government farm. so relax
This project is already dead, its just a matter of time.

We know the story behind most of Songhai Farms established by diff state govt in Nigeria once u have another govt in town.

- What you do as a state govt is to empower your local farmers and dwellers to embrace cow farming in their backyard
- Provide conducive environs through sensitizations and training by agric extension officers.
- Get our local cows from the North and import hybrid cow semen for artificial insemination
- Have a free artificial insemination centre for farmers
- Distribute cross breed cows to farmers at a highly subsidized rate and give them technical support
- Connect farmers directly to processors like Wamco etc
- This is the model used in Kenya since the 80s, govt has no biz importing pregnant cows.

It is the first level of due diligence for me as an investor while other criteria follows.

I hope you understand the concept, Lifting of the Corporate Veil,

“A corporation will be looked upon as a legal entity as a general rule……but when the notion of legal entity is used to defeat public convenience, justify wrong, protect fraud or defend crime, the law will regard the corporation as an association of persons.

Simply, the Court can and often do draw aside the veil. They can and often do, pull off the mask. They look to see what really lies behind".
