Recruitment is ongoing at the first state-owned aircraft in Africa, Ibom Air, for young, energetic youths who are interested in the aviation industry.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Aviation Development, Hon Akan Okon, while addressing newsmen during the arrival of the 3rd aircraft at the Victor Attah International Airport, on Thursday.
He said the recruitment process, ranging from aptitude test to oral interviews, is handled professionally, and that opportunities would be given to qualified applicants without any form of recommendation to get employment.
Then Commissioner added that the airline is properly and professionally managed in line with the code of governance in the airline industry, and that the highest level of professionalism is adhered to.
According to him, what makes the difference in any society is leadership, as there may exist the material resources but without a good leader, it would be impossible to manage it.
Hon Akan congratulated Akwa Ibom State for having a leader like Governor Udom Emmanuel who he said, has shown leadership qualities, adding that before the end of his eight years tenure, a lot of significant progress would be recorded in terms of other components of the airport.
The influx of passengers at the airport has been on the increase since the construction of the Uyo-Arochukwu road by Governor Emmanuel, which has saved the long hours of going through Port Harcourt.
Some of the vacant positions, according to the Commissioner, include Cabin Safety Crew, Flight Operations, Aerodromes, Airworthiness, Airport Engineers, Flight Attendants, Aviation Meteologist, and Airport Administrative Support among others.
Application form is filled and submitted online via www.ibomair.com

enilove: Op, I will advice you to do the following :
1... Approach her and inform her of your feelings for her. If she agrees , tell her that she needs to be converted to a Christian and Why.
2... If she cannot convert , then remove the idea of marriage to her from your heart.
Those 2 steps are very Important because , if you don't ask her to convert b4 marriage , she might refused to after marriage. And as long as she does not commit adultery , you cannot divorce her based on her religion if she is willing to remain in the marriage.
God has told us not to marry an unbeliever which may be why God has refused to speak to you. God does not go against His words.
A wrong marriage can destroy God's plan for you. It can take you to hell. You may think women are weak, but in marriages they are VERY VERY POWERFUL.
MY ADVICE IS THIS, DONT MARRY HER FOR ANY REASON UNLESS SHE ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS HER SAVIOUR. wow!!!! what a brilliant advice. i really applaud you. |

But when my mum got to know about her, she said she's not in support with our relationship and she has never said such in my past relationship.
Please I want to seek advice from nairalanders on how I can peacefully end the relationship without hurting her feelings.
And how can I justify myself so that she won't have a bad impression about me (and men in general) that I just use her and dump her. I feel mum is right. some choices are very hard to make but the truth is, follow your heart. ask your self some of this questions. #are you in that relationship out of pity ( like, you feel she loves you so much than u deserve and breaking up on her will hurt her. your afraid of hurting her) # is she the kind of girl you'll love to spend the rest of your life with. #are you proud of her. (in general) there are other many more self "ask" questions... don't let anyone tell you that your a mummy's boy..... don't let all the negative comments get into your head. just be nice to her, let her know you care much about her and if you can be bold enough to tell her.... don't use your mum as an excuse.... make her feel important, give her your reasons and make her see reasons with you. |

How well would this affectsthe credibility of elections?

Politics › Re: Obiano To Empower Okada Operators With N765m, Shuttle Buses by winnah(f): 6:42pm On Jun 21, 2018 |
nwakibie3: Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has set aside N765 million for commercial motorcyclists in the state to enable them purchase shuttle buses following the government’s decision to restrict them from operating in Awka, the state capital, and Onitsha, the Southeast commercial hub, from July 1.
This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba.
According to the statement, “the funds will be accessed through the Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA). Existing commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada operators, will take delivery of the buses once they deposit N100,000 with ASBA undertaking to make payments every two weeks.
The interest-free loan can be repaid within a year and a half. The shuttle buses will cost between N700,000 and N800,000 each.
The first set of 200 units of the 1,000 buses in the scheme will arrive in the state anytime from now from Japan.” Adinuba, in the statement, said Obiano’s administration decided to phase out Okada operations in Awka and Onitsha so as to economically empower the operators and quicken the process of turning the state into a modern place like Dubai.
Reacting to the decision, chairman of the Okada Riders Association in the state, Jude Udegbe, described it “as another evidence of Obiano’s humane nature” while the chairman of the state branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Jerry Nnubia, called it a welcome development which has the potential to dramatically improve the lives of Okada operators and reduce the crime rate in our state.
https://guardian.ng/news/obiano-to-empower-okada-operators-with-n765m-shuttle-buses/ my question is why importing it from Japan. ( mind you, its a nice development) if anambra state governor can not patronize product rolled out from Anambra state and by the son of the state then who will. even if u don't want to buy from innoson; at least we have Nissan assembling plant and the likes in Nigeria, why not commit this company to produce their vehicles here then we support them by way of patronage. this alone will strengthen our Naira sourcing Forex to import product that we have the capacity to produce it here in Nigeria i consider it very alarming. BENEFIT OF BUYING MADE IN NIGERIA PRODUCT THAN IMPORTING IT FROM OTHER COUNTRIES; create employment strengthen the naira etc increase our foreign reserve increase standard of living and reduce poverty level sustain economy development and growth. |

Throwback: I often laugh when I read statements from Igbos lumping the SS with their SE problem of no port or low port patronage.
I know for a fact that Onne port in Rivers State is ever busy, despite the dip that was due to the reduced oil and gas industry projects owing to the oil price slump. The port is available for those who claim they want to deny Lagos IGR, as though it is Lagos state that is operating the federal ports there.
Ignorant people just love to make fallacious assertions having observed same fallacy regurgitated by many.
It is only in Nigeria that we believe every state or tribe must have international airport, or that every coastal state must have sea port. Even those landlocked from the sea are claiming that they must have riverport, and that the sea port in Lagos is the reason their goal to have a river port has not garnered any traction.
Most countries in the world barely have more than 2 or 3 international airports.
Most of our WestAfrican neighbours only have 1 international airport. Yet we have people that lament that Lagos and Abuja have international airports, as though it was not due to their capital status, and then claim they are being marginalized and deliberately underdeveloped.
Nigeria also operate international flights from international airports in Kano and Port Harcourt. So are those 4 international airports not enough for this country, and are they not evenly spread enough, or international airport must also be a federal character principle?
How viable have those other international airports been when they were eventually upgraded to assuage tribal parochialism? what is the economy benefit of having only one functional seaport in a country like Nigeria. if calabar and onne port in rivers state could be as functional as Lagos port. can u picture the great economy benefit that will follow. |
