saintmark88:It is so sad. I do not think any other set of people in the world could be so cold, callous and heartless. Even ISIS and book haram seems to have more empathy. A girl was found after two years of rape and torture and all they can do is call her monkey with a baby. Meanwhile, when a fellow southerner, ESE was willingly abducted to kano, these same people vent their anger at Yenusa, (the alleged rapist), the Emir of kano and northerners as a whole. Hatred is a disease of the soul, it beclouds rational thinkin . |
shala01:What difference between the 2 pics? You have lost your humanity due to hatred. You hatred for APC and Buhari has darkened the soul of many people beyond redemption. We should be happy and be celebrating with the family of Amina for the safe return of their daughter, but some hate filled soils are insulting her and calling her monkey. |
agitator:Please re-read my post you quoted again and try and comprehend better. Nowhere did i say and i am Ijaw or that the listed towns are Ijaw towns. This is what i stated; Nigerdelta Youths especially the men, are extremely lazy, Go to Yenagoa, Sapele, Warri, Port harcourt, etc, the story is the same, the youth are only interested in community runs, extortion and handouts from Oil companies, local, state and federal governments instead of doing physical and mental work. |
JoelAmawhe:You most probably did not grow up in the Niger delta. when you have tasted amnesty, community, oil companies and other free monies, you will not have any motivation to work. |
TonyeBarcanista:Whether you accept it or not, the present generation of Ijaw (and Itsekiri youths too ) are damn lazy, especially those that live in the nigerdelta. NowTell me, have you even seen an Ijaw boy in Yenagoa or even portharcourt hussle? Have you seen an Ijaw boy sell items on the streets, ride Okada or even taxi or hire shops to sell items? Go to the nearest construction site, you will see that most of the labourers are women, or hausa and Igbo boys. The fact that Niger delta boys loath workis not Dickson's fault. |
TonyeBarcanista:I also did not see the sense in the so call amnesty program as designed by Yar'adua/Jonathan. I did not see the sense in paying over 25,000 youths to sit at home doing nothing to bribe them from blowing up oil pipelines, while the environment degradation and exploitation continued. When free handouts stops, they simply return to blowing up oil pipelines. |
Truth they say is bitter, that is why we cringe and fill social media with vitriolic attacks on who ever dares tell us the truth to our face. Although i have never been a fan of Governor Seriake Dickson, i appreciate his frankness in telling Bayelsan (and by extension Nigerdelta) youths the absolute truth. Nigerdeltan Youths especially the men, are extremely lazy, Go to Yenagoa, Sapele, Warri, Port harcourt, etc, the story is the same, the youth are only interested in community runs, extortion and handouts from Oil companies, local, state and federal governments instead of doing physical and mental work. Give them scholarships, they sell it to non indigenes. Give them Jobs, they sell the Jobs to others and sit down at home to collect a small percentage from the non indegene they sold the jobs to. Give them money for business, they drink alcohol, party, go clubbing and have more women in their harem. As a true Nigerdeltan, i am sure you can relate to what seriake dickson is saying. I have cousins who sold the slot allocated to them by the community to Igbo boys. One of my cousin was in the committee Uduaghan set up to provide loans to youths to set up fish farms in warri. I can tell you that all the Youths collected N500,000 and disappeared into thin air. In all your vitriolic against Governor Dickson, you did not dispute any of the points he raised. We need a total re-orientation in the Niger delta. We have to instil the value of hard work, instead of the belief that because we have oil, we should get everything free in life. The tragedy of the Nigerdelta is that we are not producing quality leaders to lead us out of our present quagmire, instead we are producing thugs, militants and criminals as leaders. |
Totfulguy:I really do not understand your argument. Whose fault is it that you have been fueling your car with N4200 and you are doing same with N7,200 now? Will Buhari suck petrol from the Atlantic ocean to fill your car? Here are the realities on the ground; Nigeria imports almost 100% of its estimated 40 million liters per day requirement of petrol. Even if the refineries are working to full capacity, they can only supply max. 40% of requirements. In its 16 year rule, PDP did not maintain the 4 refineries not to talk of building 1 refinery. Jonathan was able to keep petrol prices relatively low (inspite of massive corruption), because he had huge resources (dollars), selling over 2.2 million barrels of crude for over $100 for over 4 years. Buhari on the other hand has been selling far less than 2 million barrels of crude for an average price of $35 for the past 1 year. So where do you want him to get the dollars to import 40 million of petrol per day and then sell at half the cost price? Now, choose one; do you want to guy cheap petrol and queue for hours if not days at the petrol station or you want to drive into a petrol station and buy fuel within minutes but have to pay the appropriate price. Besides, outside lagos and abuja, you could never buy petrol at the approved government price of N86 naira. When i travelled to warri last year, immediately we left lagos, petrol was selling at N140/litre in all petrol stations. Why is labour always behaving like Nigeria starts and ends with lagos and abuja. |
As i always say; Welcome To The Real World

johnydon22:My johnny, i still can't thank you enough for the wonderful work you are doing here to free our youth from religious indoctrination. The time and effort you take in de-indoctrination of our youth is enormous. We need our youths to use their time, energy and innovation to chart our future instead of wasting their time only on religious activities. You remind me of the legendary Tai Solarin, he was responsible for my own de-indoctrination in the early 80's. Let me add my on opinion on this so called "insert in the body juju". Even though we do not have the full details of the diagnosis of the doctor, so we can know the type of insect and where they infected the body, insects infecting the human body is no big deal. My best friend once had a big insect and (larva of some sort of fly), removed from his skin, it was huge. I think fly larva infecting the skin is fairly common in Nigeria. As for fully grown insects like cockroaches and terminates, i do not know, but i do know that the human body is capable of labouring a large number of parasites. If a qualified medical doctor (a scientist) actually saw strange insects in a patients body and just shouted "juju", then that doctor should have his license revoked. Even if he was not curious enough to actually obtain samples of the insects for further examination, he should have at least reported the strange case to the Federal ministry of health and the world health organization to stop further infestations. If the world (human body) is being invaded by alien insects or strange disease, that is how a Nigerian doctor will throw his hands up and shout juju. |
I hope this helps those accusing God of the immorality of killing the 'innocents'. ![]() A basic knowledge of Canaanite culture reveals its inherent moral wickedness. The Canaanites were a brutal, aggressive people who engaged in bestiality, Inbreeding, and even child sacrifice. Deviant sexual acts were the norm. The Canaanites' sin was so repellent that God said, "The land vomited out its inhabitants" (Leviticus 18:25). Even so, the destruction (of human beings) was directed more at the Canaanite religion (Deuteronomy 7:3–5,12:2-3) than at the Canaanite people per se. The judgment was not ethnically motivated. Individual Canaanites, like Rahab in Jericho, could still find that mercy follows repentance (Joshua 2). God's desire is that the wicked turn from their sin rather than die (Ezekiel 18:31-32, 33:11). Second, God is sovereign over all of life and can take it whenever He sees fit. God and God alone can give life, and God alone has the right to take it whenever He so chooses. In fact, He ultimately takes every person's life at death. It is not our life to begin with but God's. While it is wrong for us to take a life, except in instances of capital punishment, war, and self-defense, this does not mean that it is wrong for God to do so. But didn't God also command the Israelites to kill non-combatants? The biblical record is clear that He did. Here again, we must remember that, while it is true the Canaanite women did not fight, this in no way means they were innocent, as their seductive behaviour in Numbers 25 indicates (Numbers 25:1–3). However, the question still remains: what about the children? This is not an easy question to answer, but we must keep several things in mind. First, no human person (including infants) is truly innocent. The Scripture teaches that we are all born in sin (Psalm 51:5; 58:3). This implies that all people are morally culpable for Adam’s sin in some way. Infants are just as condemned from sin as adults are.PastorAIQ, please help me ask Mr olaadegbu the Objective morality in the above quotes, i am too appalled to debate the topic directly with him, i might get too angry angry and lose my cool. What is the objective morality in him and his God sanctioning the killing of new borns because they are born condemned. What is the objective morality in him and his God commanding his followers to take a life or lives because lives are not the property of the owner but of his God, so it is right to take it at the command of his God. What is the objective morality in committing Genocide against other people because they have another religion. Furthermore, ask what is the objective morality in making and bowing down in front of graven image? Almost all the population of the world make and bow down before one image or the other, be it a cross, a crucifix, other religious symbols, pictures of dead relatives, political and religious figures, etc. What is the objective reality in keeping the Sabbath holy. Only the Jews ( and maybe seventh day Adventist) recognize the Sabbath (Saturday) as holy. |
sammhi:If government deregulate petrol suddenly, i am sure the price would jump to over N180, as marketers would fix their prides according to exchange rate and international price of petrol, which depends on international price of crude. |
sammhi:What truth did the lawyer speak? Are you saying we should pack our cars and generators until Dangote's refinery takes off in 2018? How can you expect a price of N100, when this time last year oil marketers were buying dollars at about N160, but now they buy the same dollar at N320 - N340. Naturally, we should expect petrol prices to be double what it was this time last year. Subsidy does not even come in yet, this is just simple exchange rate adjustments. |
What do PDP and its allies actually want? I guess they want Buhari out of office at all cost, even if it means destroying the country including themselves in the process. Buhari tries to avoid devaluation and pegs the naira at 197 for critical imports like fuel and medicine, the scream deregulate and devalue. Buhari says, OK, oil marketers should source their dollars themselves and sell at a price of N145 because of the high cost of dollars in the open market, they shout, no buhari must sell petrol at the regulated naira price of N197. When there is no petrol because marketers cannot import petrol at N320 to the dollar and sell at N84.5 for a litre, the protest, Buhari is a dullard because he cannot provide us petrol. Now, how is buhari going to source for petrol, when; The present 4 refineries cannot meet up to 30% of our daily needs, that if they are working to full capacity. ( we know all the refineries are down at the moment ) It will take at leat 2 years to build new refineries, that is if the government starts now, but we know refineries are not in this years budget. The government does not have enough dollars to import all the petrol we require or to sell to independent marketers. That is why the government told them to source dollars themselves Falana should explain how the government can source petrol at the cost of N84.5 without burning out megre foreign reserves and spending over 1 trillion naira on subsidies, money we do not have at the moment. |
THIS PARADOXICAL QUOTE OF NIGERIAN RADICAL CLERGY,REV FR MATTHEW KUKAH MUST KEEP US THINKING "Nigerian educational systems have surprising outcomes. The smartest students pass with First Class and get admitted to Medical and Engineering Schools. The Second Class students get MBAs and LLBs to manage the First Class students. The Third Class students enter politics and rule both the First and Second Class students. The Failures enter the Underworld of crime and control the politicians and businesses. And best of all, those who did not attend school become Prophets and Imams and everyone follows them. What a paradox of life. This can only happen in Nigeria where corruption is the order of the day." - Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah |
JohnnieZM:Cameron did not tell us that we are corrupt, he was telling the queen of England and the archbishop of canterbury. The quantity of stolen funds in their banks is the evidence Cameron relied on to say we are fantastically corrupt. |
I wonder why Nigerian are making statements here and there with some even calling for apology from David Cameron. Did David Cameron make an official statement calling Nigeria corrupt? No! David Cameron was only having a private discussion and he only happened to give his private opinion. It was unfortunate a camera was eavesdropping and was able to capture the conversation. How can one apologize for an opinion? In the said conversation, the other people agreed wholly with Cameron's opinion, namely, the queen and the arch bishop, so should they also apologize for holding the same opinion also? |
Amberon:I was not aware Noah had cranes, trucks, mechanical saws, steel joints, bolts, laminates and a large workforce. Anyway, no problem. Show us this modern Noah's ark in water floating, first without any load, then with is load of a pair of over a million species of animals and a crew of about 6, their water and food supplies. |
dankol:Sorry for your loss, but it was not God himself/itself that allowed the bright young man to die. It is probably his belief in God that allowed your friend to die. If he had been a little bit more faithless, he would have seeked professional medical help sooner instead of praying and fasting over the stomach ache with the popular Christian declaration " i am strong". He most probably died of untreated typhoid infection which is very common and deadly(if left untreated) due to drinking pure (poor) water and eating in bukas. |
onatisi:You guys living abroad need to come home from time to time, you people seem to have lost touch with reality of the Nigerian situation. The current tomato scarcity is an aberration. Tomato like other fruits and food commodities are seasonal, during the season there is a glut in the market and the price is very cheap, while during off season, the price often goes through the roof. Although tomato is often more expensive at the middle of the rainy season, it had never been this expensive. I am sure there are other extraneous factors responsible for this level of scarcity, some say it is the lack of rains during this season, others says Dangote has cleaned the available tomato from the market to feed his newly built tomato processing plant. It is the same situation with onions, palm oil, corn, plantain (the cost of plantain presently is outrageous), etc. During a glut, you can buy a small basket of onions at N200, but off season, you will buy a small onion at N100 each. During the season, i hear a basket of tomato is not more than N500 at the farms, but off season it can go as high as 6,000. If you invest heavily in tomato farming now, by the time you harvest, there might be a glut in the market and might find it hard breaking even, after you consider the cost of harvesting, packing and transportation from the farms to the packaging areas and markets. Ymodulus is just an opportunist, he saw an opportunity and is exploiting it. The opportunity might no be there in 3 month's time. The problem is our present farming technology is archaic and does not allow all year farming. |
Being an atheist in a religious fundamentalist country like Nigeria is very difficult. The society looks at you like you are the devil itself, it can lead to discrimination, hatred and sometimes physical harm. On a personal level, life for the atheist can be lonely and hard, there is no body to blame failures on, you have to work hard for everything you achieve. There is no third party to draw inspiration from, you draw inspiration from within yourself. And there is no second chance, this life is all you have to make a difference. A lot of atheists feel like cipher in matrix, they wish they took the blue pill. Cypher: You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? |
LadyExcellency:Are you telling us there is no federal presence anywhere in the east? Are you saying there is no single oil installation, pipeline or fuel depot in the east? What about the oil wells in Imo, Abia and Anambra states? You can pin point the locations of these oil installations to Avenger to bomb, so that you people can have a taste of oil spillage and pollution. You can infer the support of the east from the amount of celebrations each time they hear the news that Oil pipelines has been bombed by Avenger. Even the OP with the moniker EASTERNleopard is wholly in support of bombing the Niger delta as a form of sabotage. I am yet to see an easterner on nairaland condemn the bombings. |
EasternLeopard:i think Tonyebarcanista should change his mind on the use of sabotage by Avengers to achieve their demands, since most of our eastern brothers support their methods, but he should suggest that the Avengers bomb some infrastructures in the east like the Niger bridge and Aba Market, they should also cripple economic activities in the east too, so that their people can share in the sufferings and sacrifices of the struggle also. |
OLAADEGBU:How a human can justify genocide in the name of religion defies logic. A basic knowledge of Canaanite culture reveals its inherent moral wickedness. God's desire is that the wicked turn from their sin rather than die (Ezekiel 18:31-32, 33:11).The bolded part of the quote is the same excuse ISIS uses in the genocide against Yazidi tribe of northern syria that practices a different religion from ISIS. From ISIS perspective, the destruction of Yazidis is directed more at their religion. Second, God is sovereign over all of life and can take it whenever He sees fit. God and God alone can give life, and God alone has the right to take it whenever He so chooses. In fact, He ultimately takes every person's life at death. It is not our life to begin with but God's. While it is wrong for us to take a life, except in instances of capital punishment, war, and self-defense, this does not mean that it is wrong for God to do so.I am sorry to say, but the above quote shows you are mentally unstable. You are saying it is right for God (through his elect of course) to murder whole tribes and people because it is God that gives life. So how does this your God pass his message to you on which people you should murder? But didn't God also command the Israelites to kill non-combatants? The biblical record is clear that He did. Here again, we must remember that, while it is true the Canaanite women did not fight, this in no way means they were innocent, as their seductive behaviour in Numbers 25 indicates (Numbers 25:1–3). This implies that all people are morally culpable for Adam’s sin in some way. Infants are just as condemned from sin as adults are.You are truly sick, i swear. If these are really christian values, then christianity should be banned from any decent human society. |
iyamchee:A person certified mad means he has no control either partially or completely of his or her mental facilities, so they are not usually held liable for their actions (at least here on earth). A mental disorder can distort the difference between right and wrong in the mind of the sufferer. Are you saying such considerations are not considered in your Gods laws? I have also been wondering about minors, are there minors in Gods laws? are Kids and teenagers responsible for their actions in God's kingdom? What is the age of responsibility, whereby people are sent to hell according to Gods laws? If a 12 year old lies or have sex and then dies, will she or he been sent straight to hell? |
iyamchee:What of people born with mental disorders or autism? |
iflywithbuhari:Where in the report did it state that the president is begging and bowing to the demand of the NDA? Show me where setting up a trust fund is one of the demand of NDA. This is a quote from the article. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani, who spoke while receiving the UN Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to Nigeria, Mrs. Fatma Samoura, in his office in Abuja, said as part of overall efforts to ensure the sustained development of the region, the federal government was on the verge of setting up a trust fund for the Niger Delta. Please get someone to interpret the article you posted for you in your native language so you can comprehend what it states. You are still looking for free amnesty largesse. You think Buhari is like Yaradua who bribed criminals instead of dealing with them. You think piling pressure on the FG means blowing up pipelines and polluting destroying the environment and livelihood of the people. The disruption of activities will have far more effect on the communities, local and state governments than the FG. The states will get reduced allocations including derivation from its already low 24% share of the federation account, while the FG can borrow from abroad to augment its 52% share of the income. |
ElCount:You are so ignorant, i really feel sorry for you. Scientific speculations are based on interpretations of observable data. Scientist say speculations because there can never be 100% certainty as nobody was present to actually view and record the big bang or the primordial soup. They only have clues left by these events to work on. Some scientists speculate that life might have been kick started on earth through meteors because meteorites that have been found on earth (including meteorites and comets studied in space) are found to contain organic compounds. see this report; The Significance of Organic Compounds in MeteoritesAs for evidence of the big bang, a kind nairalander has already taken the effort to educate ignorant peoples like you, by explaining what the theory really means and evidences for it. Take advantage and learn something new. - https://www.nairaland.com/3080255/physics-seun-understanding-scientific-theories#45221422 Your faith that the universe and life was spoken into existence by an old Jewish man from his throne is not speculation based on any thing, it is solely based on blind faith and wishful thinking. Every society on earth also has it own blind faith explanation of the beginning of life and the universe, it is part of humans highly active imagination. Every unexplained phenomenon is attributed to a god. The moon, sun and planets were once gods, worshiped by millions of people. Thunder and lightning were once gods. This statement of yours would qualify for the most senseless statement in history, your said that, solely by your Faith your God created the world, He owns it and He makes the rules. You now paradoxically state that there's no need to prove His existence. This is even worse than the king wearing invisible cloths no one can see, except the tailor who made the cloths. At the end people will discover that the king is actually naked and the tailor had lied all along. |
NaWetinDey:And you are stamping your feet on the ground that Tiwa's mother is indeed a witch and that Tiwa had slept with 2face, Dr. said, Don jazzy and probably the whole Marvin crew, because Teebillz said so? |
ElCount:Nobody can really be sure, everyone is just speculating. But based on scientific reasoning, life (self duplication and sustenance) got started from simple inorganic compounds. Some even speculated life got kick started from outer space thought meteors containing organic compounds. One explanations i am certain is wrong is that life was started by a Jewish old man, using Hebrew words (which ironically is his begotten son) to magically poof all life ( from virus to mammals and from fungi to plants) into existence all at once. |
Pidggin:Because he used our money to the send a dozen girls to the Philippines ( a country Nigeria is better than) when he could have used the money to upgrade and equip our own maritime academy? Maybe Buhari should close the maritime academic Oron and send all the students there to the maritime academy in Angola. |
MrPresident1:I can present hundreds but here are a few; Your bible says man is made from inorganic compounds - dust (mainly silicon), but science says man is made of organic compounds (mainly carbon) Your bible says one rib was taken from man to make woman, meaning, men should have 23 ribs and woman should have only one rib, but science says birth man and woman has 24 ribs. You bible says a talking snake talked to eve, science says snakes do not have the larynx for human speech, they can only make hissing sound. Your bible says Noah built a wooden ark capable of holding and sustaining a couple (some say 7) of over a million species of all land animals over a sustained period of time ( over 6 months), science says it is a physical, logistical and logical impossibility. In addition, i would like to asked bible believers, what happened to the plants, Was there another botanic Noah that saved the plants as all the plants would have died submerged in salt water for that length of time. Then after alighting from the ark, what did Noah and all the saved animals feed on? The bible says the sun and moon stood still but science says it is an impossibility. |
