HardMirror: Remember this is a true life story, everything I say here is the absolute truth, only thing I have not revealed is my name, because I am still a legend in Anglican student fellowship till date, not just in futa but the whole state as I once held a state executive position.
I got to the room where she was (the president's room) there were 3 people praying for this sister. She was wringling on the floor like worm with salt poured on it. The prayer warriors were sweating and visibly tired. I got there sat down and bent over to hold her hands. Immediately I held her hand, she started screaming, but was still crying. She was behaving like someone with the spirit of pyton in her. I started speaking in tongues. For about 30mins she was still wringling. I shock her up, asked everybody to stop praying. I commanded her to stop and open her eyes. She obeyed. I asked her to seat on the other chair in the room. I could see surprise in her eyes. I repeated my instruction and she obey. I told her whoever the spirit sets free is free indeed and God has told me she was free. That no matter what she tot, she is already free. I asked everyone to start praising God.
Now this case was peculiar. Why? I learnt something key that day. Once a human sees you as superhuman, they believe anything you tell them and people can be overwhelmed by the presences or words of people they think are directly linked with God. If I kept praying she would have kept twisting on the floor. But I commanded the nonesense to stop and it stopped. This is not very far from how hypnotism works. Your subject has to be highly impressionable. This is most likely what TB joshua knows. Once you see him as an ordinary human, his words won't have any effect on you. But the moment you buy into the whole facade and open your mind to be impressionable, you will end up responding to everything such a man says and end up misbehaving The parts i bolded are the secrets of the so called men of gods. They use all kinds of methods to make their believers submit their will to them, then they set about fleecing them of their possessions and money and sometimes their bodies (the ladies). The fact that you understand the methods of mind control and you did not exploit it to become a "man of god" shows you are a man of integrity and conscience. You could have easily set up your own ministry and have thousands worship you with tithes and offerings and then live extravagant lifestyle. This your thread is a service to humanity, it will open many people's eyes and free them from the shackles of the control of hypnotists disguising as men of gods. |

Just saying... That is where you got it wrong. Nairaland has changed many peoples religious beliefs, many people have abandoned religion altogether because of Nairaland, including the founder - Seun. Nairaland provides avenue for people to come out of the closet and question religious dogma they have been indoctrinated with since childhood. |

It is alleged that Atiku, Tinubu and Amaechi were the main contributors to buhari's election. Of the 3 only Amaechi was a public official, Tinubu and Atiku were private citizens. Except you can prove that money was channeled through them from office of the NSA, NNPC, CBN and other government agencies to fund Buhari's election, then they have no case.
On the other hand there are tons of evidence that Jonathan's campaign was funded directly from public money from public officers. He converted federal purse to PDP's treasury and doled out money at will for electioneering purposes. The financial trail is evident and the confessions are available. Get the same concrete evidence in Amaechi's case before you can talk. |

Thanks for being here And you think we can put our political, tribal and religious differences aside if the military takes over? We have tried Parliamentary system of government, it failed. We tried military dictatorship, it also failed and we tried and still trying Presidential Democracy, it is not working. What does these tell you? The problem is not the system of government, it is in the people. Until the Nigerian and indeed the Blackman can attain a higher level of spiritual consciousness and lay less emphasis on selfish material acquisition and show genuine selfless love for others and the society at large, no system of government will work. |

LRNZH: Unfortunately, the 'Fulani herdsmen' issue has been around since OBJs government as I remember. That was when the grading reserve bill reared its head.
The issue is that the Fulani's have been migrating further south due to the encroachment of the Sahara desert over the years. Their gradual southward migration has led to more interaction with farming tribes of the middle belt and southern Nigeria and with this comes violence as they struggle to grab more land for their cattle. Some don't even return to the north anymore.
The issue like many of Nigeria's issue is a complex one and needs both short and long term solutions. Just like corruption, Boko Haram, Niger Delta militancy, fuel scarcity, lack of electricity, unemployment, herdsmen attacks are all symptoms of a non functional country.
I await to see how the current government will address the issue on the long run because unleashing soldiers on the hersdsmen is a short term solution (same for Niger Delta militancy and Boko Haram). That won't be enough.
As for OP, he is just reacting emotionally to an issue that requires a lot of level headed thinking. Any political analyste worth his weight knows that supporting PDP or APC is not even the issue here. Buhari's reaction if you're following the developments now is even swifter than GEJ against Boko Haram calling them his brothers. More people were dying daily that period
Two wrongs cannot be mutually justified and no death from violence can ever be proven worthy so partisanship is not what we should be taking about.
We should be focused on how to get to a mlre feasile solution. I'm my head, don't see how the grazing reserve wil work unless the 19 northern states come.together and agree on how to manage the reserves with staes have the final eight to opt-in or out of the reserves.
Such optional reserves will force the Fulani to become less nomadic and more domesticated thereby increasing the likelihood that he will look into alternative means of growing feed for his cattle. That should should lead to better interactions with Farmers who can sell him hay or feedstock and to modernisation of cattle rearing practises.
Just like the oil spills in the ND, soil erosion in the SE, the desertification of the North is a disaster that needs to be tackled.
Others may have better ideas. Please bring them on. APC vs PDP is not the solution.
God bless you my brother, you are one of the few people that thinks dispassionately about this Fulani herdsmen menace instead of using it as an excuse to criticise buhari. Fulani herdsmen menace has been a problem for decades, we are only reacting now because the problem has extended across the Niger. Jonathan in his nearly 6 year reign was oblivious to Fulani herdsmen ravaging most of the middle belt states and some south eastern states, so the Fulani herdsmen had free reign during Jonathan's regime. Buhari has just been there for a little less than a year, so i expect we should give him some time to solve the Fulani herdsmen problem. I agree that the grazing reserve proposal is a no no, no community should concede their ancestral lands to foreigners in the name of grazing reserves and besides how can you ensure the herdsmen remain confined to the invisible boundaries of the reserves. If the northern leaders want reserves for their people, they should provide it for them in the north. Fighting nomads, with no stable abode, no family and no valuable property is very difficult. They can attack you in your sleep and disappear into the deep jungle or wilderness. Pursuing them into the jungle can be a suicidal venture because the peoples cannot live and survive in the jungle for days and weeks, while the Fulani herdsmen can. Even in the bible, the nomadic invaders almost always win the battle, because they come, burn, rape, kill and steal and then disappear. So the governor's of all the southern states must come together and put politics aside to compel the Buhari led administration to provide security and protection from Fulani herdsmen. The governor's are powerless as far as security gives and has to rely on federal institutions like the police, army, DSS, etc for security. |

Trying to get justice is not chasing shadows. If am the husband, that pastor will either rot in Jail or never see the light of day again. Go figure out what that means.. To get the pastor to rot in jail, the husband would have to prove murder or manslaughter. To prove murder in this case will be very difficult, as the lady followed the pastor willingly to the hotel room as shown by the security cameras. To prove murder, you will have to prove motif and show murder weapon. If it can be established through toxicology reports that she had drugs in her body and can be proven that the drugs was administered by the pastor, then manslaughter might be proven. |

2n2k: That is not how most hotel doors work. The door once shut can either be opened from inside using the lever but from outside by using only the key. Thus you can lock yourself out if you don't have the key on you. If the lady had double-locked the door from inside, even the spare key couldn't have opened it from outside.
So, it was the pastor that shut the door. You are right. The lady probably died while the pastor was with the lady. But unless the autopsy report shows trauma or lethal drugs in her body, a crime would difficult to establish. Negligence on the part of the pastor yes, but murder, no. |

KingEbukasBlog: 1.From the Laws of Thermodynamics
First Law: The total amount of mass-energy in the universe is constant. Second Law: The amount of energy available for work is running out, or entropy is increasing to a maximum.
2. The universe is expanding not into space, but space itself is expanding.
3. The Beginning of Time - Stephen Hawking
4. Also, the universe cannot be self existent - nothing can create itself, because that would mean that it existed before it came into existence, which is totally absurd . Like Mbatuku2 asked, what has your God has to do with the laws of thermodynamics or any other physical laws for that matter. I thought you people said your god is not bound to any law. It seems you do not understand the import of the laws of thermodynamics. The first law states The total amount of energy in a closed system is constant ( we assume mass is also a form of energy). Since we assume the universe is a closed system, it therefore mean the amount of energy in the universe has always been the same. This is why we say energy can neither be created nor destroyed. The second law of thermodynamics states, that there is a natural tendency of any isolated system to degenerate into a more disordered state. This means entropy (amount if energy unavailable to do work) increases. While first law of thermodynamics deals with quantity of energy, the second law deals with quality of energy. In your statement above just substitute God for the universe and you will reach the same conclusion; The Universe God cannot be self existent - nothing can create itself, because that would mean that it existed before it came into existence, which is totally absurd . 1. Its actually logical . If the intelligent designer is not eternal then it progresses into infinite regression . We will be asking absurd questions like who created the creator and who created the creator's creator . So God is eternal Here also substitute the word God or intelligent designer with the universe and you will still reach the same conclusion; Its actually logical . If the intelligent designer the universe is not eternal then it progresses into infinite regression . We will be asking absurd questions like who created the creator and who created the creator's creator . So God the Universe is eternal 2. Philosophically : For everything to exist , an all - some sort of a infinite container - must be eternal . God is an ALL in ALL .
3. Faith . This is needed if you want to please God . The bible exhorts us to believe God through Faith Wrong philosophical premise, so wrong philosophical conclusion. The Bible's description of YHWH is overwhelmingly logical . And fits best as the true God - the eternal conscious creator .
a.He is eternal b.He created the physical universe and its constituents - time , space , matter c.He is an embodiment of morality - a law giver
There are so much that I can't indite now
Yeah and that's why Jesus entreated his disciples to spread the gospel . In the OT , we can see God punishing the Israelites when they depart from their belief in Him and worshiping other gods . The rest is just religious indoctrination by conquerors and colonialists with no base in logic or reality. It is a ploy by all conquerors to subjugate inferior or conquered peoples to make them more malleable for exploitation. This was stated by the Roman empire in ancient Rome and perfected by the British and spanish in modern British and Spanish empires. Peoples conquered by Arabs are also forcefully indoctinated to accept Arabic God and philosophy. |

SolutionsGuy: The United States yesterday said immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, did not show political will in putting an end to Boko Haram insurgency that ravaged the country for several years.
The country also revealed that corruption in the Jonathan-led administration denied Nigeria its support in the war against Boko Haram at the height of the insurgency.
The US ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Samantha Power, made the revelation at the American University of Nigeria, during a visit to round off her visit to IDPs camps in Adamawa state.
She disclosed that the US government was monitoring the political will of Nigeria then to tackle the insurgency, but was not convinced of the country’ seriousness due to the corrupt tendencies that were associated with the issue of those fighting the insurgency.
She however noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had so far shown seriousness in tackling the scourge.
“But, when the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government came on board, the US recognised his full commitment to stop the insurgency and the anti-corruption crusade. The US has no alternative than to back the present administration.
“The US, as part of our new resolve and commitment is now training a battalion of soldiers that will soon return home to face the insurgents headlong. The battalion will be a high performing one equipped with the American terrorism combat and techniques on their return,” she said.
She also disclosed that President Buhari had received needed intelligence for the rescue of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls, and commended Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger under the auspices of the Lake Chad Commission for their collaborative effort in combating the Boko Haram insurgents.
“The United States acknowledged the seriousness of these countries in their combined efforts against terrorism and it is paying off now.”
While announcing a donation of $40 million to help Boko Haram victims, the envoy disclosed that although the US was investing in the security aspect of Nigeria, it was not involved in combating Boko Haram.
Power called on the soldiers to protect liberated towns so as to allow returnees start a fresh life.
Recall that top military and security officials that served in the Jonathan administration are currently under investigation for the misuse of funds meant for the procurement of arms in the fight against insurgents.
The former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has been in detention since November 2015 for his role in the misappropriation of $2.1 billion.

To the OP and his likes; Do you even have the faintest idea of the concepts you are asking about -Big Bang and Biological evolution? You guys have a very wrong notion of the Big Bang Theory and not ready to do the hard work to learn. You guys are just trying to justify your religious dogma by shooting down scientific concepts that contradicts your beliefs.
For you to understand the Big Bang Theory, you will need to understand the proof of the expansion of the universe through Red Shift Measurements of distant Objects. You will also need to read up on the father of modern astronomy, Edwin Hubble, who actually showed proof that the universe is expanding. Read up on various other proofs of the expanding universe like the cosmic background radiation.
Now please answer this question, Do you accept that the universe is expanding? If you answer yes, then you must also accept that it must have started out quite small. The start of this expansion or inflation is what is generally known as the Big Bang.If you do not believe that the universe is expanding, then we have nothing to discuss. - |

"If .. " - we are talking of a God who is currently existing now so its not debatable .
Plus with the logic of God and everything even if the universe is eternal it does not preclude the existence of God . The universe could be seen as part of God - this is called Panendeism - and God is eternal . That means we have the universe as being part of a separate conscious entity
And please dont take my latter statement too seriously What is your proof that the universe had a beginning and a cause and what evidence do you have of an intelligent designer creator that is eternal? If you will only accept made in Nigeria SUV, why not tell saraki to exchange yours for innoson SUV or better still sell your SUV and buy innoson of the same specification. It seems Ben Bruce is not concerned about the cost of the SUVs, only where it is made.
Me too, i will not buy his book until it is printed in Nigeria. |

Adam and Eve were not meant to live forever, because god drove them from Eden before they had the chance to eat from the tree of life. The were only opportuned to eat from the tree of knownledge which turned them from zombies into knowledgeable beings. |

GWMI: Even if it is costly in Nigeria, it is for the best that we have senate house.APC's tyrany will just get worst if we scrape the Senate. One advice instead is to ban elders from running the affairs of this nigeria.I have seen over the years that the major problem of the Nigeria's political class is the Hypocratic Elders we have. The Elders council are the most corrupt, Hypocritic and worst of all shameless e.g AREWA CONSECUTIVE FORUM,NORTERN ELDERS FORUM,OHANEZE faction supporting the bias Buhari,UPU faction supporting the bias Buhari. So my only advice here is scrap the hypocric houuse of Elders Councils in Nigeria.Ban Elderly politicians like Buhari, matima Sule,Dambazzau,Danjuma,Anenih and other hypocrites this we save us some cost and will stop some misleading.Thanks. But the youth have not fared better in terms of corruption and hypocrisy, it was the youth that earnestly asked for Abacha. Youthful politicians like Farook Lawan, Labaran Maku and Dimeji Bankola were as corrupt as the elders. Youth organizations like NANS suffer the same disease as any other organization. |

cardoctor: Senegal. What a poor country. Nigeria just spent N3.6 billion to buy just cars for the senate. NIGERIA IS "STINKING" RICH. Which stinking rich? They are spending our collective wealth. If you divide the money we earn by our population, you will find we are not richer than Senegal. |

nairalandbuzz: One thing you all need to understand is that... both lower and upper house that are doing check and balance are not competent enough let alone dissolving one chamber at a go..
my one cent...
For Presidential and Vice Posts: Minimum of Masters in any field + MBA. For Governors: Minimum of Bsc + MBA For Local Govt: Minimum of HND For Council Chairmen: Minimum of OND For Ministers: Minimum of PHD For Senators and d likes : Minimum of MBA
These ppl must know what they are being sent to do na... else, na rubbish anyone wey go there go dey do... You must be a degree holder with an MBA , that is why you advocate for people with your qualifications only to aspire tor the highest political positions in the land. What of people with OND, HND, Post graduate diploma and other diplomas, they should not aspire to serve their country as president or governor? You are saying they should not be hire in top management positions. What concerns MBA with political office? I even thought you will say Political science, Social studies or even history. There is no direct correlation between political, business or social success with the type of academic degree. We have had many successful politicians and entrepreneurs and other people without university degrees. Here is a list of US presidents without university degrees; George Washington (The death of his father ended Washington's formal schooling; however, he believed strongly in formal education. In his will, he left money and/or stocks to support three educational institutions.[1]) Andrew Jackson Martin Van Buren William Henry Harrison (attended college but never received a degree) Zachary Taylor Millard Fillmore (founded the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York) Abraham Lincoln (had only about a year of formal schooling of any kind) Andrew Johnson Grover Cleveland William McKinley (attended Allegheny College (did not graduate) and Albany Law School (did not graduate) Harry S. Truman (went to business college and law school but did not receive a degree) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States_by_education Even in the area of business, over half of the world's richest men are without university degrees. |
