PoliticsRe: The Executive Alone Can’t Enjoy Immunity – Saraki by wirinet(m): 6:52am On Jun 23, 2016
Since we are supposedly operating a federation, what about the states? Since governors enjoy immunity, should the state's speakers not enjoy immunity too? And since there are also 3 arms of government in the States also, should the state's chief judges not enjoy immunity too? In fact all head of political offices should have immunity, and not just them, their properties should enjoy immunity too (according to fayose)
PoliticsRe: Does Fayose's Immunity Cover His Personal Property by wirinet(op):
I am utterly shocked that supposed lawyers including so called SANs talk like illiterates. I can excuse Fayose's ignorance but I cannot excuse lawyers who are supposed to read and understand the law.
The constitution never gave "absolute" immunity to governors and even the president. Here was what justice Uwaifo, J.S.C., who read the lead judgment of the supreme court in fawehinmi v IGP said;

Suppose it is alleged that a Governor, in the course of driving his personal car, recklessly ran over a man, killing him; he sends the car to a workshop for the repairs of the dented or damaged part or parts. Or that he used a pistol to shoot a man dead and threw the gun into a nearby bush. Or that he stole public money and kept in a particular bank or used it to acquire property. Now, if the police became aware, could it be suggested in an open and democratic society like ours that they would be precluded in section 308 from investigating….? The police clearly have a duty under section 4 of the Police Act to do all they can to investigate and preserve whatever evidence is available…. The evidence may be useful for impeachment purposes if the House of Assembly may have need of it. It may no doubt be used for prosecution of the said incumbent Governor after he has left office. But to do nothing under the pretext that a Governor cannot be investigated is a disservice to the society.

Most of the lawyers supporting fayose seem not to have read the judgement of the supreme cour .

If i understand those supporting Fayose, they are saying that if Fayose imports a cargo full of hard drugs, those hard drugs can't be seized because they belong to Fayose and that he is covered by immunity? That seems to be the logic of the wailers and those supporting Fayose.
According to them, the container can only be seized after Fayose leaves office, as Fayose's immunity covers his containers too.
PoliticsDoes Fayose's Immunity Cover His Personal Property by wirinet(op): 2:21pm On Jun 22, 2016
There have been lots of arguments on the legality or otherwise of the freezing of Fayose's personal accounts by the EFCC. Fayose and his supporters opined that since a Governor enjoys "absolute" immunity, non of his property can be seized until he vacates office, meanwhile, opponents insists that a governor can be investigated, and freezing of an account is part of investigation and not prosecution.

This is Fayose's quote on the issue;
“It was ‎when I got a hint of their move that I wrote a cheque to withdraw some money from the account and I came myself. I was denied access to the account as I was told the EFCC has placed restriction on it. That is executive rascality taken too far.”

“Section 308 of the 1999 constitution gives me immunity just like the president. I wouldn’t know why these people are intolerant of others and in a haste.”

“Let them wait till 2018 when I will end my tenure for them to do their investigati‎on. The other time the EFCC accused me of embezzling N1.2 billion poultry project fund, I was the one who voluntarily reported myself to the EFCC. When I had case with EFCC my properties were not affected.”
This is a very illogical reasoning, is Fayose and his supporters telling us that all his properties are covered by immunity? Are his Cars, Furniture, his family and even his pets covered by immunity?

Lets give 3 scenarios;
Suppose that a Governor's son, in the course of driving the governor's personal car recklessly ran over a man, killing him, the police on getting to the scene of the accident decides to take the car to their station for forensic investigations, is Fayose saying the car can not be impounded because the car enjoys immunity along with him? Does the immunity cover his son also?

The Governor himself used a pistol to shoot a man dead and threw the gun into a nearby bush. If the police should find the gun, is Fayose saying the gun cannot be impounded by the police for further investigations because the gun was registered in the governor's name?

If the EFCC has evidence that a GOVERNOR STOLE PUBLIC MONEY AND KEPT IT IN A PARTICULAR BANK UNDER HIS NAME, is Fayose saying that the police or the EFCC should not freeze the account pending the conclusion of their investigations. Will the money (evidence) be still intact after the end of the governor's tenure?

I am appalled that people use technicalities and legalities as an excuse to commit and condone criminality, if Fayose and his supporters says a governor and all his properties should have absolute immunity from prosecution and investigations, then nothing stops a governor or president from stealing all the state's resources and commit heinous crimes and use his remaining time in office to destroy and eliminate all evidences.

Someone need to put a stop to his madness. He thinks he is opposing the president but ignorantly digging pit where he will be buried. President Buhari should come in and protect his family. He belongs to his family and has every right to protect his family from any attack just like his responsibility to protect Nigerians. If Fayose can not restrict politics to government affair and policy, Buhari should sue his a s s.
Fayose cannot be sued now as he enjoys immunity. After he finishes his term as Governor (or he is impeached) then, Mrs Buhari can sue his ass.

Fayose and his supporters must have noodles in place of brains. Did they read the report at all? The report talked about a Ms aisha Buhari, a middle aged woman (in early 2000s) living in the US, who claimed to be the daughter of a former head of state, and Fayose and his supporters ( fellow waiters) interpret it to mean Buhari's wife ( whom they also accused of being child when she married Buhari in 1989).

If anybody named Aisha Buhari is Muhammadu Buhari's wife, then the president must have dozens of wives. A simple Facebook search will show some of them

you are just saying what you dont know, even as an atheist am sure you cant deny that the world would be a better place if everyone follows the teachings in the Bible
Greatest fallacy of the the last 20 centuries.

Leviticus 20:10
New International Version
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

[i ]Deut. 21:18-21 [/i]
"If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, 19 then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his home town. 20 "And they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ 21 "Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear of it and fear.

Genesis 38:6-10
6 Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. 7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.

8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother. ” 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight ; so the Lord put him to death also.

If we follow these Bible teachings, the world would be a terrible place.

Why should Nigeria's production cost be third highest in the world. Do you understand the effect of a difference of only $1 per barrel for 2.2 million barrel per day over a period of 1 year?

My brother, the figure is correct. My friend in the oil exploration industry gave me the same figure last year.
I think this figure is grossly over inflated. With the technology employed and the fact that Nigeria oil reserves are relatively shallow (not very deep), the cost of extraction can't be more than $15 per barrel. A suspect corruption between, the oil companies, NNPC officials including DPR and some politicians.
I think Buhari should beam his corruption search light into the production cost of Nigeria's crude. It is way too high.

It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:

Witches and wizards are vestiges of primitive societies attempting to make sense of mysteries around them (especially unexpected and unexplainable tragedies). It thrives on Ignorance and fear. Witches and wizards give way, when enlightenment and science comes into a society. OK, i can see most of what you quoted up there are from the Bible with the exception of the flying horse though. so are you saying that the Bible contains no truth at all? because you find somethings that are naturally/logically impossible in it. (when reasoned with human understanding)
Why not dispute the scientific blunders in your Bible instead of asking for any truth from the Bible. If something is naturally and logically impossible, which other understanding can make it reasonable?

but have you also forgotten that this same Bible gave a accurate description of earth in about the year 1473 B.C.E that "God is hanging the earth upon nothing"( job 26:7) the Bible's accurate statement predated Aristotle by over 1100 years yet Aristotle's views continued to be taught for some 2000 years after his death. It was until 1687 C.E that Isaac Newton published his findings.
But the Bible also made a contradictory statement in 1 Samuel 2 : 8
"8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.
"

The Bible also described the shape of the earth long before voyages about 2700 years ago "there is one dwelling above the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22)

What Can you say about all this accounts? Despite all the false things that was being taught about the shape of the earth then, this two men (job and Isaiah) were not influenced. Don't you think it must have been revealed to them by the creator himself?
Nothing in the verse describes the shape of the earth (which is a spheroid). I am certain the writer of this verse see's God as sitting on a throne on a high mountain (like mount Olympus). From that vantage point, the earth below looks like a circle.

What did Nuhu Ribadu say about Obasanjo?

Let me refresh your memory;
Out of the 13 allegations raised against Obasanjo by ex-Governor Orji Uzor Kalu and the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) in 2005 and 2007, the EFCC under Ribadu said the ex-President was not guilty of abuse of office.
Some of the 13-point allegations investigated by Ribadu were the launching of the N7billion presidential project; fraud in crude oil sales from 1999 to 2006; owning of foreign accounts, including a Platinum Credit Card; connivance and obtaining of money in oil and commissions from defense contracts and purchase of 200million Units of Transcorp shares.

Others were the use of state funds for Obasanjo’s Third Term agenda; sinking of N521billion into power projects; exceeding 2005 budget by N133billion and collection of commissions over the sale of Ajaokuta Steel Company and Delta Steel rolling Mill, located in Aladja.

The report reads in part: "Investigations carried out could not establish a single source to show where the former President diverted public money to pursue anything of that nature (Third Term agenda) and three key public institutions: NNPC, PDTF and the State House Accounts were thoroughly investigated, including checks through the Financial Intelligence Unit which did not reveal any illegal use of public funds.

"Even when the Commission threw public challenges soliciting for evidence, especially from anti-third term forces in the National Assembly, nothing was secured and otherwise nothing in the nature of bribes or fraud could be linked to the prosecution of the third term process."

Concerning the controversial presidential library projects, the report indicated that Obasanjo is not a signatory to the accounts of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Foundation.

"Investigation has also revealed that the signatories to the Foundation’s accounts in three banks are HE (Amb.) Dr. Christopher Kolade; Dr. (Sen) Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello; and Mr. Nyaknno Osso."

On the 2005 budget, the report claims: "Investigations at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation concerning the Federal Budget performance in 2005 did not support the claims of the petitioner who alleged that the former President exceeded spending on ministries, departments and government agencies by about N133billion.

"Further investigations showed that contrary to that argument of the petitioner, the financial statements of the Federal Government for the year ended 31st December 2005 indicate that all financial activities were within the budget framework.

Five Questions for Atheists. l'l go straight to the point.

1.What caused the universe to exist?
Nobody knows. The universe exists, that us all we know. Scientist speculates that because the universe is expanding (inflating), it must have started from a very small point from which it has been expanding since (big bang), while different primitive societies speculates that an intelligent humanoid ( from their tribe) created the universe, for example, the Jewish religion and it's affiliates speculates that a Jewish man, spoke the universe into existence using Hebrew language.
2. What is the Evidence for Evolution?
Everything. Everything evolves, the universe evolves, the earth evolves, living things evolves. Even nairaland has evolved.

3 how do we account for the origin of diffrent languages spoken by humans?
Evolution. Different isolated groups develop different forms of communication and language. When a group of people of same tribe and languages migrate to another location, their language will differ slightly. After many migration, the new language would eventually be very different from the parent language.

4 Why do we not see humans being born in the zoos from monkeys if we came from monkeys or apes?
Stupid question. A monkey can never give birth to a human or vice versa, that is why they are different species. For your information, man is classified as one of 4 great apes.
5 what evidence can you offer that God does not exist?
Senseless. You do not prove a negative proposition. it will render sciences and human knowledge useless. I might as well tell you prove that a man does not live In the centre of the earth, and if you are unable to prove it, then it must be true. I can also demand that you prove that you did not kill Stephen keshi with Benin juju, if not, then you must go to jail for murdering Stephen keshi.
