PoliticsRe: Why Are The Igbos Still Angry At Other Tribes Because Jonathan Lost? by wirinet(m): 8:17am On Sep 03, 2015
zendy:
Let me explain this way. Ghana is one of the largest countries in West Africa, in terms of population, with 28 million people and recently had a new president. The Igbos are a tribe of over 40 million people. Now as an Igbo man, I am wondering why I have to go through a Yoruba or Hausa man before I elect my leader? Because we are 'one Nigeria'? Who made us one? Lord Lugard the British thief? I think the loss of GEJ was a stark reminder that Igbo sovereignty is being stolen in the name of Nigeria. How can people still be dictating to a tribe of over 40 million people who their president will be? As an Igbo man I am angry, but not because GEJ lost, but because I know that I should not be in the same country with Yorubas and Hausas still dragging who will be my president
But tell me why are Igbos obsessed with power, especially the presidency? When an Igbo man supported by Igbo becomes leader, everything is ok, but when the igbos lose power, the succession is the answer.

The whole 28 million Ghanians are not one tribe. Ghana too has numerous tribes just like Nigeria and you do not hear shouts of succession when one tribe loses power.

Very few countries on this planet contain only one tribe, most countries in the world are multi-ethnic and multi religious and they learn to co exist with each other.

GEJ lost because lots of people including some of his people believed he failed and lost the confidence of the political class. It has nothing to do with hatred for Igbos or minorities. After all he was supported in his first election. If igbos want to contest and win the presidency, they would need to build alliances with others and stop insulting all other tribes that do not support them.

What is the concern of the OP? Nigerians always taking Panadol for another person's problem. Marriage is a personal decison between adults, if you like to marry younger person's it is your perogative, if you prefer older, it is also your cup of coffee. An outsider has no business worrying about it, except they are jobless.

CSTR2:
You don't see anything wrong with a cut-off mark of 2 and 3, when others have as high as 139 in the same country?
Is it by force to send your children to UNITY Schools? In fact how many UNITY schools are in Nigeria and what is the total student population in Nigeria. How many students from Yobe or even Bayelsa apply to be admitted into unity schools. If you are so obsessed with unity schools, then pressurize your state government to set up disunity schools.
PoliticsRe: Shocking: Cut-off Point Into Federal Unity Colleges For Yobe Is 2, Taraba, 3, An by wirinet(m): 1:24pm On Sep 01, 2015
You people are too obsessed with cut off marks of Unity Schools. It is called UNITY Schools. Its purpose is not to produce excellent students, its purpose is to Unify the Federation by giving a chance to student from for every state in the country to attend. It is meant to be a platform where student from every part of this country come together and relate to each other in a conducive learning environment. It was designed to be a social integration mechanism. So Igbo people needs to stop making a mountain out of a molehill by always screaming injustice at the different cut off marks in Unity Schools. If you disagree with the policy of Unity schools, then do not apply to have your wards admitted into unity schools. After all what is the percentage of unity schools to the total secondary schools in Nigeria? I am sure it is not up to 0.001%. Unity schools does not stop state governments or even private citizens from setting up schools. Me for one do not intend sending my children to Unity schools.

Why is it only the Igbos that complain of Unity schools? Bayelsa (Ijaws) with a cut off mark of 79 is not complaining. Do you want unity schools consisting only of Igbo students? The irony is that the same people complaining of Buhari not Adhering to federal character in appointing office holders are the same people complaining when federal character is applied to unity schools. Does the fact that student are admitted into unity schools with different cut off mark mean that they would be promoted and pass out using different grades? Will WAEC and NECO use different marking schemes to mark their exams?

What developments accrued to the south after 16 years in power (1999-2015)?

What you call northern leadership over the years were military dictatorships constituted of jack-booted soldiers who were not after any development, but looting and consolidation of power.

Otueke today lacks potable water despite the fact that their son was Deputy Governor, Governor, Vice President and President after 16 years. Was he also northerner?

What Nigeria in total lacks, is quality leadership.
Fulani, do not mind him, hated can render someone irrational and psychotic. It provide an excuse for ones failures and failings.

What impact did the pillars of the Jonathan's administration have on their region, their states and even their clan? What about your state governor?, what do they do with the free money they get from Abuja? Have they had any impact on your life?

The Igbos have held every position in this country save the president? what impact did they have on their region? The educational attainment of the south has nothing to do with government policy, it has more do do with the value southerners place on western education, while the northern people generally abhor western education.

So you expect the recent appointments made by Buhari two to four weeks ago to have had significant impact on the north by now.

You need to see a shrink for Hatred management therapy.

Do not mind the Wailing Wailers trying to distort history and confuse Nigerians. They are comparing a doctored selection of Jonathan's appointments with all of Buhari's appointments up to date. Why not compare ALL of Jonathan's appointments from the day he became acting president till the day he left office to that of Buhari's appointments from May 29th till date. It is then we can appreciate (with accurate statistics) who's appointments is more balanced in terms of ethnic, tribal, zonal and religious considerations.

Kingsley Kuku is from Ondo state, South-West... Not so sure tho
Dr Joseph Dawha is from Bornu state, North-East

That said, we voted change and as such expect PMB not to toe GEJ's line.
I am sure you did not vote change, you must certainly voted for continuation and transformation, so you should be satisfied if PMB toes GEJ's line. It is people that voted change that has the right to complain if they feel PMB has not changed from GEJ's lines.

Before you catch a thief, you must first probe and investigate to determine the facts and who is responsible for what, you then move to the prosecution stage, where guilt or innocence is determined by the courts. We are still in the preliminary stage of investigation. Criminal investigations do not take place in one or two months, it sometimes takes years or even decades.

GEJ is not worse than OBJ, IBB, ATIKU and of course ABDUSALLAM. Why single GEJ out?
I do not believe a sane person made the above statement.
Are you insinuating that no one should be investigated and prosecuted for any crime unless every single citizen that had ever been suspected of such crime is investigated and prosecuted?

The implication of such crazy statement is;
No armed robber must be prosecuted unless all other armed robbery case is prosecuted.

No traffic offender must be prosecuted unless all others that commited the same traffic offence is prosecuted.

No drug dealer or baron must be prosecuted because other major barons and dealers have not been investigated and prosecuted.

Is that your defense of Jonathan? Instead of you to vouch for his innocence, you are justifying his guilt.

We might has well shut down our court and abolish the judiciary, because it is impossible to catch and prosecute all criminals.

Are you even aware of the impact, the money stolen by Jonathan's Administration (allegedly) would have on your life? Do you know what can be achieve with the said sum? Buhari need money to run his government and he is trying to recover as much stolen cash as he cash to improve your life.

How has Buhari treated the few Igbos that stood with him, the Ogbonnnaya onu, the Ngige of this world?
You stylishly circumvented that question.
The keyword here is "few". Only 5% of Igbos supported Buhari. You can see from Buhari's body language (and verbal too) that is he pained that only 5% igbos supported him. Not not 20% or even 10%, but only 5%.

Don't worry, the "few" igbos that supported him would bet ministerial or other appointments. Ngige and Ogbonnaya Onu would definitely get ministerial appointments. The problem i see is that Igbos might not get favours from the Buhari administration if you people do not quickly reconcile your differences with him.

Buhari is incapable of rising above sectional and parochial interests.
This just confirms what i said earlier, you mind is already made up, There is nothing Buhari can do to change your mind.
The Peter onu story is true and not a propaganda.
Then provide a collaborating link or source to this Peter Onu story. Also where is Onu's own version and other involved parties. A jugde cannot find a person guilty based on one side of the story.

Ndiigbo believed that Buhari was sectional, parochial and bigoted.

So far, has Buhari proven us wrong?

The Igbos that are with him, those that betrayed their people's stance to stand with Buhari, how has Buhari treated them so far?

Ndiigbo had genuine reasons to believe that Buhari was a tribal bigot see this:http://scannewsnigeria.com/politics/buhari-the-only-leader-ever-who-voted-against-his-nation/

And so refused to vote for him, the onus was on Buhari to prove us wrong by being fair to us in his appointments, but so far, all he had done was confirm our suspicions about him.
So based on this one (probably concoted) story, the whole of Igboland made a decision to hate Buhari? This write up is obviously one negative campaign strategies adopted by PDP just before the election. It was still harping on certificate forgery campaigns against Buhari. It veered off point to whip up emotional sentiments on unequal cut off marks for unity schools. The writer who i suspect is Igbo could not even spell Buhari right.

Now tell me how many voters read this story before deciding to hate Buhari? are you telling 95% of Igbos read and believed this story?

Buhari has nothing to prove, you guys have already labelled him as an illiterate, terrorist, religious and ethnic bigot, i doubt there is anything he can do or say that will change your minds. The onus is on you people to discuss and reconcile your differences amicably, further exasperating the situation would not be in the interest of the Igbos (at least during his reign as president).

I recommend "The Prince" by Machiavelli and 48 laws of power by Robert Greene for every Igbo leader and politician to understand how to play the game of power.

There is no "We", you are not an Igbo, right from your Okija juju days.

APC couldn't give Ndiigbo that are with them appointment posts , it's now Senate presidency that they will give to them without reminding them as usual that majority of Ndiigbo didn't vote for Buhari and APC, when they almost killed themselves because of Ekweremadu emergence as a deputy Senate president.

Nobody trusts a traitor, the Igbos in APC will get exactly what the rest of us not with APC will get from this government, and that is nada, nothing, nil, null, take your pick.

They( Igbo APC) are the real losers in this political era, they are not trusted enough by their Arewa-Odua Odua masters to be given juicy posts, no one trust traitors, yet they have been rendered politically irrelevant in Alaigbo as no Igbo person would want to have anything to do with APC, soon they will become political liabilities to APC, and will finally be dumped into political dustbin, never to be heard from again.
But is the voting pattern of the Igbos acceptable to Buhari? 95% of the Igbos voted against Buhari, not on account of competence, integrity or campaign promises but purely on Hatred, religious bias and anti-north sentiments. They went on hate campaigns and insults as an election strategy. But now that Buhari has won, they demand Buhari love them with Key apponitments.

What did this Ohaneze say when Buhari was begging them for support before the elections? Did they not reject him and threw their weight behind Jonathan. No where in the world i have i seen an ethnic group or any other group of people reject a candidiate by as much as 95%, based only on primitive primordial sentiments. It is even more unreasonable to expect this hated person to do you special favours.

Fayose, Fani Kayode and other SW politicains that followed the same path of hate campaigns have attempted to make amends and toned down their insults on the person of President Buhari, but the Igbos have upped the ante and insult Buhari with every word he speaks and any action he takes. No attempt at reconcilliation whatsoever and they demand appointments. Even the Ijaws have made peace with Buhari.

Do not worry, Buhari will meet the minimum constitutional requirements by appointing people from all states of the federation, but i doubt the Igbos will get important or "juicy" appointments.

When the army was taking orders from PDP candidate in Ekiti state to rig the Ekiti governorship elections, the same senators did not see the need to petition President Jonathan or even carry out inquires. When the Army and security forces were being used for elections, why are PDP now being concerned that they are asked to come and testify. The problem usually goes both ways. Other Nigerians have refused to accept the fact that Igjos are been shortchanged more than. Any other group in the country, even minority groups are treated better and as a result, a lot of Igbos feel they don't have any future in Nigeria. Will you really blame them? As much as I get angry at the constant proliferation of Biafran topics without substance, I think this people are just acting the way Nigeria made them to act. We saw it in MEND and are saw it with Boko haram and we are now seeing it with Biafra. They feel that is their best bet at getting justice whether rightly or wrongly.

You need notbto worry because these BH iafran activist even though are many, they're not in the majority. They mainly made up of Aba and Onitsha traders and a sprinkling of university graduates else, they would have found a more constructive way to actualize the Biafra in instead people like Nnamdi Kanu are fuelling ethnic hate and some gullible are simply sipping it without reason.
My brother my tribe the Itsekiris are far mor shortchanged than the Igbos. We produce close to 20% of this country's oil resources but there is nothing to show for it. No political appointments, no infrastructural developments, no increased allocation to our communities. All we get from Nigeria is pollution and neglect. My village controls 13 oil wells, yet we do not have pipe drinking water, no schools (not even primary school), no access road. What should we do? Vent our hatred on the Yorubas andHausas (and probably Igbos)? No. we will bid our time and weight our options for the good of all Itsekiris.

Mend struggle was a selfish struggle, it only enriched militants. It did not address any of the underlying problems of the NigerDelta - like Pollution, poverty and exploitation.

Boko Haram is a political tool ( by northern political elites) gone awry.

Your thread would have been a hit with me but what I've noticed with Igbos who tend to follow the path of sanity is that they think everything is black and white. While I often get irritated by the constant bickering on Nairaland especially by my Igbo folks, I often cut them a slack cos I know where they are coming from. I understand the anger. Now, the advise is not misplaced except for the fact that you feel the need to run down the Biafran movement without realizing that it is the right of any individual or group to seek self determination. It's not a crime. It was and is still being done in Scotland and Catalonia. Just like you, I'm not a fan of Biafra as I believe that Igbos can become their very best in Nigeria. Not because I think Biafra is not workable or will become like South Sudan but because it is my choice. Other people know the reason they clamour for Biafra day in day out. The only way is for to make them see reason as opposed to running them down and everything they believe in just so that their antagonist will praise you and say things "Its because of Igbos like you that I want Buhari to give the South East the same opportunities as the SS".

We should fix ourselves within before seeking to become a country. When an Enugu person will see someone from ebonyi as inferrior, what type of country will biafra be?

Are igbos going to leave all their property and investment outside igbo land and relocate or what.

Biafra is better off and ideology that makes every igboman wherever he is to send part of his profit home for investment.

My brother, thanks for your post, it shows igbos are very sensible and intelligent people. I love igbos, my wife is pure igbo, my best friend and partner is pure igbo and they do not hold such hatred for Yorubas and other tribes as insinuated by Kanu and his juvenile and illiterate crowd.

The Igbos (and other tribes) need to change their value system and orientation. They need to develop love for each other. There is no love even within families, not to talk of clan or sub tribes. All these talk about igbos loving each other is false. Most igbo families i know are not united. Rich family members often do not help less privileged members. Fortunate brothers, sisters, cousins and aunts often do not even want see their poor members.

Igbos need to promote unity and love among themselves before they can hope to forge a common front, politically, socially or even financially.

PoliticsRe: Analysing The DSS "Incriminating Evidence" Against Sambo Dasuki by wirinet(m): 11:01am On Jul 19, 2015
barcanista:
Goodmorning all, I woke up this morning to read an article where the DSS attempted to justify their siege on the residence of Sambo Dasuki and tagged it "criminating evidence" https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-found-incriminating-evidence-dasukis-residence-says-sss
The DSS even went on to say that before embarking on the exercise, they had “credible intelligence linking Dasuki with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State.”

Let us take a look at their "incriminating evidence"

1. Sambo Dasuki Had Army Guards
Now does this make sense? As NSA, Sambo Dasuki was assigned military guards by the Defence Headquarters and not by himself. It is the duty of the Defence Headquarter to order for the withdrawal of the guard IF they insist that Sambo Dasuki is not entitled to maintain such guards as exNSA. In fact, this doesn't stand as "incriminating evidence".

2. Seven "High Calibre" Rifles Recovered

Dasuki Sambo was NSA for the periods 2012 and July 2015. His position as NSA makes him "enemy" to some people. Having Seven rifles with him for his personal protection is not out of place. Is it not silly to reason that a man who plans to topple the State will only have just Seven (7) rifles? It was even clear that the DSS have no idea whether the rifles were licensed to him or given to him by the appropriate authorities. How does this appear incriminating?

3. 12 Cars Recovered

The DSS found 12 cars of which 5 are bullet proof. So how does this translate to planned treason? Sambo was the NSA for more than three years, he was retired on Tuesday with "immediate effect". Do they expect him (Sambo) to return everything on Wednesday when his retirement was impromptu? This is a common sense question. The proper thing for the DSS to do is to write him to return all State properties at his disposal. This is because he will need time(at least 4-7 days) to audit properties with him, know which is personal and which belongs to the State and then submit handover note along with the properties. Why will the case of Sambo Dasuki be different? He was fired on Tuesday, the DSS got Search warrant on Wednesday, and accused/searched him on Thursday. Beside, that he even admitted that the Cars were properties of the State shows that he wasn't bent on personalising State properties and he never used State's resources to buy properties for himself.

Please also note the phrase "possible sinister enterprise" in the emboldened statement. Isn't that a pointer that the DSS never had any "crdible intelligence" in the first instance-contrary to their earlier claim?

The DSS and the Buhari government should tell Nigerians the truth and stop the deliberate deceit. I urge Sambo Dasuki to seek redress in the court of law.

May God Bless Us All
Why can't you people allow constituted authorities to do their jobs. Everything any officer or member of this administration does is immidiately subject to wailings and criticisms, even before the dust settles down to understand what is going on.

When DSS under Jonathan was arresting opposition politicians and ransacking APC offices (even without a search warrant), tanoids were jubilating, now the same DSS got a search warrant to search Dasuki's residences for illegal weapons and other "incriminating" evidence, and you are here crying. A mere search (with supporting court warrant) is not an issue, the big issue is if Dasuki is unlawfully arrested or his rights impinged upon.

When Wike was breaking into Amaechi's commisioners homes and seizing cars without a search warrant PDP and TANoids were hailing such moves, but if Buhari does the same, there would be wailings and gnashing of teeth.

I do not support impunity from whichever quarter, but If Dasuki feels his rights has been abused, he should head to court the same way APC went to court over the illegal sealing and vandalization of their offices and even illegal detention of their workers by DSS.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu's Oriental Hotel In V.I Bigger Than Dasuki's Alleged Building. by wirinet(m): 8:03am On Jul 19, 2015
Why are you people so obsessed with Tinubu? If you have any case against Tinibu, send a petition to the appropriate authorities or better still take EFCC to court to compel them to prosecute Tinubu.

There is no law in Nigeria to compel anyone to disclose his source of income or to account for his assets (this is a result of complicity by our law makers). So Dasuku owning 5 bullet proof cars or owning mansions cannot be evidence of stealing without actual evidence of fraud or sharp practices. But illegal possession of weapons is a serious crime in Nigeria. If Dasuki does not have permits for the weapons allegedly found in his house, then he is in serious trouble.

Nigerians should always learn to be patient, wait for the full investigations tobe concluded and the case is taken to court before taking a position.

Married in School, Single at home.

Girls when wil you guys stop this thrash? The rate at which some girls live with their boyfriend(student) in their various off camp hostels is very disgusting and irritating. Sometimes, it pain me seeing a beautiful, promising young girl living with a boy who is also her fellow student in school as a room mate. The worst part of it is that, if you ask her, she will open her roten mouth to tell you that the small boy is her fiance. Girls wise up! .its very painful because their parents are not aware and they keep collecting house rent from them. Before you think of living with a boy as your room mate, ask yourself this questions; why am i in school? Is this boy upto marriageable age? What advice will i give to my children in future? Where will this friendship take me to? Some girls, after spending 4/5 good years in school, instead of them to go home or better still squat with their fellow girls while doing their clearance and also waiting for their call up later, they will go to their boyfriend's house. *i weep for my fellow girls* you call it school life, but i call it stupidity of the highest order. You guys should desist from this ugly behaviour. Its bad!!!!

#truthisbitter
Whish one consign you? Why will it pain you if a promising young girl and a boy decide to live together as room mates?

Please face your life and allow others live their lives. Do you think you are better than those that married in school or you would be more successful than them in life?

OP face your front.

trapQ:
what the actual glittery fvck is wrong with Nigerian men??
Disgracing us home and abroad. if its mot yahoo yahoo today, its drugs tomorrow., or fake documents.lmao, and theyll say women are spoiling the world.

if you are broke don't fvck. why run away from your responsibilities??

also I wonder when all these foreign women will realize that dating a Nigerian man is like mixing kerosine and water it will never work. but why look for the man thohuh was she rapedhuh didn't they both consent to ithuh
Can't you read? Why the unnecessary hate for Nigerian men. The man ran away not because he is not ready to take responsibility, he ran away to avoid being jailed. It is a crime to get any other woman except your wife in UAE. It only takes one night of passion for you to be declared a criminal in UAE.

What i do not understand is, what happens to the Baby and mother after the father has been jailed? who takes care of the baby?

You are so loud you can't even hear yourself speak. Does Senate approve the national budget for every fiscal year? If your answer is yes then you can go join the rest dots or take a crash course in Nigeria Public Finance 101.

By the way, where does RMAFC derive its powers from and which body approved it?
This is the last time i would be educating you on Nigeria's Fiscal Federation. The Senate only approve Federal Government's Budget, it has no powers over the Federation account.

The Federal Government presents the federal budget to the Senate, andn the Senate approves or modifies the Federal Budget as it deem fit. Meanwhile the State Assemblies also approves or modifies the state budgets. The National Budget you are talking about is the Federal Budget and not the Budget of the Federating units.

I will not comment on this topic again, you can believe whatever you want to believe.
