Martins301:You have no idea of what you are talking about. The Senate (a federal institution) has no say in how money from the federation account is shared. The money in the federation account belongs to all the Federating units and not the Federal Government. The states and federal government sends representatives to the monthly FMAFC meetings. It is here that the amount acrued the federation account for the previous month is presented and shared according to the agreed sharing formula. Even the proposal to save some money from the Federation Account into in the ECA does not have the approval of the States and so it was done illegally by the Obasanjo and Jonathan administrations. It has nothing to do with the Senate. I hope you are better enlightened. |
Educating wailing wailers once again. Sharing of money from the federation account does not pass through the Senate. All monies acrued the Federation account is to be shared according to the sharing formula agreed by law. It is the Federal part of this money that is appropriated by the senate and the state component is appropriated by the state houses of assembly. The Federal and state Governments make their budgets based on the projected sharings from the federation accounts plus internally generated revenue Buhari seriously needs to declare a state of emergency on Education in Nigeria. |
drss:You are wrong. People of those days are actually smaller than people of today. This is due to poorer nutrition and medicare. Most excavated bones od ancient people are actually far less than 6 feet. 6 feet was a rarity back then. About the story, it is an obvious fake. A human with a skull that big cannot stand upright, his spine and legs would collapse under its own weight. People who are 8 feet tall cannot stand unaided. |
I am sure this Barca must be on a full time pay job of the PDP or of Goodluck Jonathan, how else can one explain the amount of energy and time he spends in digging out lies from the archives. His lies can only excite fellow PDP supporters, TANoids and Biafrans, as they are still reeling from the agony of Buhari's defeat of Jonathan. Maybe they have commenced election campaign for Goodluck Jonathan for the 2019 elections, but if they continue with the failed strategy of attacking the person of Buhari with lies, they would fail again woefully. From the post, it is obvious Barcanista is only appealing to illiterates, any body with an iota of education will see the obvious lies. A president does not have the powers to fix the salary of any public officer, it can only be done legally by RMAFC. He can personally refuse to collect his own salary though. There is no evidence that president Jonathan recieved less salary than he is entitled to as shown in his Tax Clearance certificate he submitted to INEC. He cannot come here and claim that Jonathan received 25% less of his salary without evidence. I do not understand what the fuss about the president salary is, the salary is a very infinitesimal part of a president's total emulnuments, allowancies and privileges, other privileges such as security vote, feeding allowance, travelling allowance, medical allowance, etc runs into billions of naira (if not billions of dollars) per year. |
Duru1:I am surprised you do not know that the Jewish God is different from the Christian God. The main difference being that while the Christian God is 3 God in 1 or 1 in 3, with Yahweh (Jehovah), Jesus(his son) and Holy spirit co-existing, the Jewish God is one God, who has no son. Also while the Christian Gods is God of all races, the Jewish God is God only to the Jews. The Christian God has a heaven and Hell where he sents saints and sinners, while the Jewish God makes no such provision as Jews do not believe in hell or heaven. There are lots of differences between the two Gods. |
Karlman:You just do not get it. We are not talking about leadership and sponsors of terrorist organizations, we are talking about the ordinary ground soldiers, the recruits who carry out the bombings and suicide missions. The terrorists get steady supply of willing recruits due to poverty and ignorance. The terrorist leaders recruit members by religious indoctrination, exploiting injustices within the system (real or imagined) and sometimes doctrine of superior race or tribe. All these prey on the vulnerable members of the society eg, the poor, young or exploited. Boko Haram and Nigerdelta militancy are very similar. A few disgruntled elite using their people to achieve their selfish financial or policical objectives. And yes Nigerdelta militants did bomb civilian and government targets in Warri, portharcourt, Abuja and Lagos, they were not just as viscious as Boko Haram, probably because they were not after capturing territories. |
The common thread connecting all countries where terrorism has taken root is FAILURE OF GOVERNANCE. Where governments abdicate their responsibility of securing the security (both social and physical) of its people. Where the intelligence agencies are more interested in being errand boys for the party and government in power, than gathering intelligence concerning both external and internal threats, where customs and security agencies allow unfrettered smuggling of light and even heavy weaponry into the country.Where terrorist idealogy and activities is allowed to fester and grow until it becomes a threat. For example Boko Haram was allowed to grow without the government doing anything. Now a new terrorist ideology is being formed by a certain Kanu and government has not nipped it in its bud, until they start bombing and killing people. Terrorism is like cancer, it can be cut and treated in its budding stage but very difficult to eliminate once it has taken root and spread. |
Rotimi47:Only two Nations can defeat Isreal!!!. Maybe according to biblical sentiments but militarily Isreal is not among the top ten military powers on the planet. Even on this site - http://armedforcesmuseum.com/todays-top-ten-armies-military-powers-in-the-world/, Iran is put at number 8, but israel is no where on the chart. |
Ignorance is a disease but religion is a mental illness. Isreal that lost almost all wars they had involved in except a couple. Isreal that was defeated by the Babylonians and sent on exile, Isreal that was defeated by the Philistines except when under David, Isreal that was defeated by the Romans, burnt their temple and sent on exile. Isreal that was defeated by the British. And some ignorant christian who had never read any other book outside the Bible as interpreted by his pastor is spewing rubish. Isreal was created by the UN and sustained by the west - US, UK and france. If the US should withdraw its protection and support of Isreal, the Jewish state would be a sitting duck. What do you think is reason Arab country hate the US, is it not because of its support of Israel? So if Isreal is God's people, what are you? Devil's people? |
Igbos do not stand a chance at becoming president of Nigeria, Obasanjo saw to that. Obasanjo made sure that a certain Ebele Azikiwe became president, thereby eliminating the the possibility of the Igbos and the South South from the presidency in the nearest future. |
utumunta:Are you a soldier? Did you even attend Boys Scout meeting? Do you know anything about the role of the Military in a democracy? What will a military check point be doing in Lagos, Ibadan and Enugu. Military check point might be a neccessity in Burno, Adamawa and Yobe, but it is not required in peaceful areas. What is the job of the the Police, the Civil Defense and other civilian paramilitary forces? What of our intelligence agencies, CID, SSS, DSS, etc? are they just receiving salaries for doing nothing? |
Trailblazer1:When Boko Haram killed over 200 boys in a school dorm and kidnapped almost 200 girls, bombed Abuja and controlled 14 local government areas in Nigeria, did you criticize Jonathan? I am talking about you. Can i see your post history to know your views? What do you expect Buhari to do in one month? You want him to fight Boko Haram without a plan and strategy? Generals do not operate that way? If he did, then he will just be putting our troops and Nigerians in danger. He would need to first take an inventory of our military rescources - both personnel and equipments, he would need to acquire more equipment and adequate training of the troops to use the equipments. He would need a short, medium and long term strategy of defeating Boko Haram permanently. Most important of all, he will need to search for generals and officers who can carry out his strategy. This is how wars are fought and won. |
Trailblazer1:It is not only too early to start criticizing, it is senseless. They even started cricicizing him before he took over. While some were citicizing him for forming a parallel government, other were criticizing him for not engaging Zuma in the Xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa, even when Jonathan was still president. They seriously wish Buhari to fail so they can justify the disasterous presidency of GEJ, no matter what Buhari does or does not do, they would criticize. If he sacked Jonathans service chiefs, the second he assumed office, they would should victimization, if he waited to understand the situation before taking action, they would scream indiscision. I am glad Buhari is not moved by haters and bad belle people. Change of Government is not easy for the incoming government. Obasanjo used most of his first term to plan an agenda, When Tinubu took over lagos state in1999, it took him more that 6 months to start anything. The whole of Lagos state residence were screaming for governmence to start then. Even when Yara dua took over government (same party), he was labelled all sorts of name like Baba go slow, etc. He took more that one year before we saw his agenda. Now, they want Buhari to start governance without understanding the situation on ground and then drawing out a plan and agenda for his administration. I am an architect, for a complex structure like stadiums and ariports, the conception, planning, designing and budgeting and recruitment (sub contractors and workers) stage sometimes takes much longer time than the construction phase. If you go into such project without adequate planning, it is guaranteed to fail. Nigeria would not fail under Buhari and wished by Tanoids and Biafrans. |
barcanista:Despite all your hate campaigns and campaigns of calumny Buhari still won the elections and would still win the next elections should he decide to run. If $2billion in ECA and $2billion from LNG funds is not emptry treasury, then TANoids, PDP and biafrans (kanu's terrorist faction) needs to go back to primary school. Note that the LNG funds was not paid into the treasury until Buhari issued a directive. How much did, their lord and saviour meet in the ECA and in the reserve when he took over? and how much did he earn in the almost 6 years he was president? Compared to what Jonathan met in the treasury, he left it virtually empty. Then most importantly, how much debt did he leave behind. |
chisco82:There is no evidence yet that madam world Bank is a thief, what we are accusing her is gross incompetency. President Jonathan left the economy and the budget in her hands and she messed up. All she is good at is cooking up statistics and rebasing of the economy. She has no idea of how much money Nigeria earns, how much she pays for subsidy and how much she owed oil marketers. She was blind to the massive corruption going on under her watch |
Tanoids and the wailers would continue to wail until 2019 and problably till 2023. A government that borrowed $1billion just less than 4 months ago to fight Boko Haram, A government that had borrowed to pay workers salary for the past 6 month, a government that owed oil marketers more than 200 billion naira. And someone is saying the treasure is not empty because Buhari ordered the sharing of N400 billion and the release of $21 billion to the multinational task force. Jonathan loss must have caused a deep mental and psychological damage to Tanoids. Now are you even aware of Nigeria daily income? are you aware that even at $50 per barrel, Nigeria export over 2 million barrels of crude every day. If you multiply $50 by 2million, you get 100 million every day. Even if Nigeria get 50% of that according to joint partnership agreements, that is still 50 million dollar everyday. So in the one month Buhari has been president, Nigeria had earned nothing less than $1.5 billion. If you now add gas exports, VAT, export duties, etc. I am sure Buhari had earned well over $2 billion since may 29th. |
FlirtyKaren:The tori get as e be! The army during a stop and search operation found new N1000 notes with bank wrappers and immediately suspected they were the robbers that operated in Ikorodu a week earlier. He initially denied being a robber but "confessed" after serious "interrogation". So what evidence do they have that ties the suspect to the scene of the robbery? What of the other 3? were they also arrested as a result of stop and search? Were they interrogated to confess also? Where do former operatives come in? how and why were former operatives deployed when the police have active operatives and what how were they able to identify and fish out the robbers within a week? I hope innocent men are not being used as scapegoats. |
gimakon:If you hate cattle herders so much, why not boycott eating cow meat. Since you prefer to be ruled by fishermen switch to eating fish. Even the isi-ewu you guys love so much comes from the north. In Europe and the US, the average cattle herder is richer than the average trader. |
Neduzze5:Although i hope Buhari would be more equitable in the distribution of key political positions, i would ask whiners and wailers to please shut up. When GEJ for making Igbos the pillars of his administration and all key political appointments was going to South South (mostly Ijaws) and South east, they were cheerleading him on, now they are crying murder when Buhari decides to appoint his own pillars. I warned over a year ago that what goes around comes around and that GEJ cannot remain in power forever, that if another region (north or south west) takes over, they would be paid back in their own coin. I hope Buhari should be magnanimous and give them some key positions in his government. |
DSS is a complete disgrace for a secret service. Since GEJ lost the elections, they have completely gone comatose. The Organization has been without a spokesperson since may 29. Merylin Ogar was said to have gone on holidays or is it study leave, and no replacement was named to take her place. How does any one in his right senses thing the new government can work with the old DSS. A DSS that was more interested in fighting APC than Boko Haram. DSS should be at the forefront of curtailing Boko Haram attacks, but they spent all their energies looking for APC's computers and INEC hackers, even when INEC stated categorically that their computers were no hacked and cannot be hacked. All last second promotions in DSS and other agencies should be reviewed and those without merit should be demoted. |
brainpower:Why do you people fear criticism? We are here to exchange ideas and you are talking about criticism. I have a sound technical and scientific background, so i know what i am talking about when i tell you what you said up there is impractical. How does the 100million grant work? He want the FG to grant youths $100million in order to produce batteries. Is it a loan? how will the youths pay back the grant? Will Ben Bruce or the FG set up the factory and then hand it over to the youths? I am sure you and Ben Bruce have no idea what it takes to produce a battery? I laugh when you guys talk about Solar cars. Are you even aware that Solar cars still in experimental and prototype stage? There are no commercially available solar cars yet. You and Ben Bruce do not understand the difference between solar, electric and hybrid cars. Electric cars are the cars for the future. It is cheap to maintain and run (especially with small intra-city vehicles) and is pollution free. |
