WonderMan76:We all know Biden is not very popular, even within the democrats. What is obvious is that on a national scale, he is more popular than Trump. Trump will bring out the democrats enmass. They will not necessarily vote for Biden, but against Trump. I can't wait for Lincoln Project to start rolling out campaign adds. They are hilarious 😂. |
basilico:Which top up votes? You are just writing nonsense probably to justify your paymaster. Your are behaving as if you are being paid for each post, so you must post something no matter how nonsensical. If you were in the US you or the organisation you are working for would have been sued to bankruptcy. Even newsmax now put out disclaimers after people like you make stupendous claims on their platform. Ray Epps and Ruby Freeman would have made a fortune from your character assassination and defamation. |
WonderMan76:It never intended to hurt his base. Everyone knows that even if Trump grabs their mama by the poosie, members of the base would still worship him. The indictments would have effects on the 30% to 50% republicans who are not his base. It will have effect on the independents and most importantly of all it will galvanised the anti-base, that is the liberals, leftists and democrats to frenzy levels to come out and vote during the elections. It does not matter who the democrats nominate, as long as the republicans nominate Trump, the anti-Trumps (who are far more in number than the trumpists) would come out massively. Remember the 2022 elections was about Trump and that's was why the democrats were able to keep the Senate and avoid a blowout in the house. |
ambale:Thank you for asking the pertinent question. If there is indeed a subsidy scam, where is the evidence? Who has been investigated for subsidy scam before we even start talking about prosecution? Then the real question is "is there really subsidy"? The government told us that NNPC had a crude oil swap agreement with refineries abroad, whereby we give them crude and they give us fuel while they keep the other by-products, who is NNPC paying subsidy to again? Nigeria will never make progress until we resolve the subsidy question of the last 20 years. Some people needs to be shot as restitution for the actrocities they have commited against our motherland. |
maasoap:It's either got to do with selfish self interest or primordial sentiments such as tribalism, religious affiliation or political correctness. |
jumper524:The negative economic impact of removal of subsidy is far worse than the keeping it despite all the corruption associated with it. The problem of the subsidy regime was corruption and not the subsidy itself, afterall Nigeria was not the only country with a subsidy regime. Instead of Tinubu to fight corruption within the subsidy regime, he found it more convenient to fight the poor masses instead, because the beneficiary of the subsidy theft are his friends and political associates. |
Tinubu's mission is to nuke the already fragile Nigerian economy. As of today, most small businesses are shutting down. The ones still opened have little or no Patronage. University of Ibadan is thinking of a 3 day working week for its staff. Even transporters are finding it hard as people either trek or stay at home. Is this the way to run an economy? I shudder to think of what the Nigerian economy will be like and the consequent security challenges one year from now. |
WonderMan76:They did go after Bill and Hillary Clinton aggressively, but they found nothing. Trump's tag line for the 2015 elections was "Lock Her Up" You think if Trump has any evidence of a crime by Hillary Clinton, he will not go after her directly. Trump demanded directly Jeff Sessions investigate Hillary Clinton. American Oversight has uncovered the signed directive from former Attorney General Jeff Sessions instructing a federal prosecutor to carry out President Trump’s authoritarian demand to investigate Hillary Clinton.Which of the Bidens are you talking about? If you are talking about Hunter Biden, then you guys have can knock yourselves out. If you are referring to President Biden, you guys need to alleged a valid crime first, then present evidence before a grand jury to obtain an indictment first, then take the indictment before a jury in a competent court to obtain a conviction. Up till now there is no evidence of a crime by Joe Biden. Trump is a walking crime magnet. All his activities - political, business or social involves criminality. He induces crime in everyone he interacts with. |
WonderMan76:And phone conversation between Joe Biden and his son is now a crime? It seems the Republicans have no other legislative or policy agenda apart from Hunter Biden. His phone calls, his business life, even his sex life is a legislative agenda to be discussed on the floor of the house. |
WonderMan76:Tinubu will be the most stupid human being on earth if he actually goad ECOWAS to attack Niger Republic. Niger coup was not the first in Africa and it will not be the last. In fact under General Buhari, there were 3 or 4 coups in ECOWAS countries, and Buhari did not utter a word. A war in Niger will completely destabilize not only Nigeria, not only West Africa, but the whole of the African continent. Africa would be the new battleground for the proxy war between US and its allies and Russia in alliance with China. |
basilico:Wild allegations without any semblance of reality. First and foremost the Georgia elections was conducted and ratified by Republicans and not democrats. The current governor and secretary of state are still all republicans. Please be informed that according to the US constitution elections are a purely state matter. Secondly, Georgia's ballot had been recounted multiple times - at least 3 times and no fraud was uncovered. Thirdly, since you guys have been shouting "rigged elections" since 2019, particularly in Fulton County, one would have thought you made the allegations based on evidence you already have. It's inconceivable that you guys want to start searching for evidence now. I thought you guys already have all the affidavits you need. Please note affidavits by itself does not constitute evidence without physical evidence. |
basilico:Shouldn't you guys be happy that the case us finally going to court? Trump's lawyers now has subpoena powers and can subpoena anyone including Ruby Freeman or any other election official to prove his election fraud claims. In fact all his lawyers that claimed they have evidence of election fraud in Georgia has now been presented with a golden opportunity to present those evidence including Sidney Powell (with her kraken). |
oz4real83:Ko ju iyen lo (en o pass that). But government and its supporters would be beating around the bush with useless ill thought out policies that tend to exasperate the problem. |
Rich4god:I am glad that you agree that only way out of our economic doldrums is increasing productivity. Nigeria is a very unproductive country. I hope Alex Otti is able to improve productivity and quit relying on handouts from Abuja as done by almost all other governors. Now productivity starts from Education, and when I say education, I mean practical education relevant to the economy. I don't see getting a degree in astronomy as relevant education when we don't have an observatory. A sane government must invest heavily in education, at least primary and secondary education. Its only educated and skilful people that can be productive. Illiterates end up being Abgeros, IPOB, militants or Boko Haram. Then investment in infrastructure is a must, particularly power. All human activities are driven by power. All Tinubu's policies since may 29 has led to increase in productivity. I cringe when I hear some state governments want to revert to a 3 day working week or than Unibadan want to give its staff a 3 day working week. Can you imagine the impact on our already abysmal educational system? And the graduates of these universities are expected to compete in the world market. Read up on how China was able build a modern advanced society in 30 years. |
Rich4god:I have been a business nan for over 20 years, I am not a white collar worker or a civil servants. I understand the practical aspects of business. All these policies are window dressing, they cannot address the elephant in the room, which is low or dwindling productivity against growing demand. A sane government would invest heavily in increasing productivity and not curtailing and stifling businesses. What will increase productivity? - Constant and relatively cheap power, less government restrictions, some degree of currency stability, available and relatively cheap capital, actual regulations by government agencies. CBN and the banks are behaving like partners instead of regulators. |
owagbeba:Don't mind them very confused people. They will introduce one useless policy, when the economic repercussions starts biting, they quickly reverse policy. By then we are far worse than where we were. Examples are Naira redesign policy, fuel subsidy, BDCs and now I and E window. |
Rich4god:How many Nigerians send remittances through the banks when Binance is there. Check Binance P2P naira page and you will see people trading N50 million at a go. How many FDIs have entered Nigeria this year to have any dent on the exchange rate? Export proceed simply means crude exports. You are aware that over 80% of our foreign earning is from crude. Now, Nigeria currently exports about 1.2 million barrels per day, far less than our export quota of 1.2 million barrels per day. Under Jonathan we were exporting 2 million barrels per day. Now after deducting cost of production and the joint partners share of 40%, how much is left for Nigeria to shore up our currency? |
Rich4god:The banks are the main problem. Let me give you one info you will not get elsewhere - the banks make most of their profits from round tripping. I knew someone that was an aid to Tony Elumelu when he was was at Standard Trust Bank. He revealed to me Tony himself and Standard Trust Bank were raking in billions from buying from CBN and selling through BDCs to ordinary citizens. The situation remained the same or even worse under Emefiele. |
Rich4god:Where does the CBN hope to get the dollars to sell to BDC? |
EngrKemp:Very simple economics 101 solution, but corrupt and lazy political elites make it sound like rocket science. How can you import over 70% of your energy (apart from importation of basic food items) and still expect your currency to appreciate. Now if Nigeria is a sensible country we should turn Nigeria into an oil refining country instead of an oil (crude) exporting country. Since there is a huge demand for refined petroleum products and our neighbours are ready to buy petrol at what ever price. If the government like, let them increase petrol to N1000/litre, it will always get at least 30% more expensive in Benin Republic, Niger, Cameroon. Also piping gas to those countries which are less than 1000km from our huge gas reserves would make economic sense. I don't even see the need to pipe to Europe yet, piping to our immediate neighbours will fetch us billions of dollars. Imagine how much Russia makes from selling gas to its neighbours. Germany is betrothed to Russia today because of gas. |
budaatum:The way I see it is that he is a true republican and was hoodwinked by Trump, just like millions of other true republicans. Another example is Mike Pence. Trump is the real rino, he has no republican ideals, he only cared about power and he only rode on the emotions of true republicans to get thar power. Have you ever heard of a non religious, non principled republican before? True republicans are the most religious and principled people in the world. They are often prepared to die for their principles. True Republicans (outside of the extremist MAGA movement) like Barr, Pence, McConnell, etc., tolerated Trump as long as he implemented republican agenda ie anti abortion, anti-LBGTQ, science denyism, and most especially republican judges in the courts. Many republicans could not stand Trump's excesses and bailed out before the 2019 election. Lincoln project were republicans that opposed the re-election of Trump. I am sure they will be even more aggressive if Trump wins the republican nomination. Other republicans started opposing Trump after the elections, where Trump lost the election up to the supreme court, but attempted a coup to remain in power. Smooth transfer of power is the hallmark of US democracy and Trump almost disrupted that. |
WonderMan76:The honest in my description is used to qualify his republicanism and not his personality per se. It means Bill Barr believed in republican ideals and not betrothed to Donald Trump as a member of his personality cult. He said he agreed to serve under Trump because he believed his republican ideas, but resigned when became too toxic after the 2019 elections. If he were honest, and if the things he’s saying now are what he truly believes then he would have been saying it when he was in power. How do you expect an appointee to be attacking his boss and still be in power? He did the most honourable thing and resigned. I think he’s just doing what he believes is politically expedient for him now because the tides have turned. Trust me if Trump gets elected again, he will change his tune again. That’s politics for you.Agreed in politics anything can happen. But remember he resigned. So what do you feel he needs political expediency for now? To be appointed AG once again? In fact there is no such thing as an “honest politician” that phrase itself is an oxymoron.Agreed, particularly when it comes to material and power gains, but then there can be an honest republican or democrat, who don't compromise on its core ideals. |
Konji is no respecter of religious extremism, racism or class. Boko Haram ready to neck devil worshiper, snow white Nazis ready to nack negroids as black as charcoal and high class bourgeoisie ready to nack a homeless hobo, just to relieve konji. |
LordReed:You are wasting your time and energy responding to him. He talks like his life or livelihood depends on defending Trump. He stopped making sense a long time ago. |
feedthenation:Just as we have seen saying all along - another Kraken. |
WonderMan76:I can bet my last naira that you were right. But then people do have "Damascus Road experience", whereby their sense of guilt over rides their conscience. why not attack the message instead of the messenger. |
Good interview by Bill Barr on Trump indictments, Biden's investigations and current politics in general. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5NBlLgrEwA Barr is a really honest Republican. |
5 trucks of rice for each state? I hope it is a 33 tonne truck. Now a 33 tonne truck carries 600 bags, so 5 multiplied by 600 is 3000 bags of rice. Lagos with an estimated population of 20 million means each person will get 0.00015 bag of rice which is 7.5grams of rice or 100 grains of rice. In effect each Lagos residence will get 100 grains of rice. Clowns |
basilico:Civil war just because a black man (actually half blackman) became president? How did he grow the racial divide? Out of all the previous 44 presidents only the half black one would cause civil war? Its obvious the whites voted for a racist like Trump as a punishment for electing the first black president. The Republicans are power hungry narcissists. Republicans cheated the democrats out of 2000 elections, they did not call for a civil war. The democrats narrowly lost the 2015 elections dispite winning the popular votes by 2.9 million votes, they did not call for a civil war. Trump would lose again. He will refuse to conceed defeat and alleged the election was stolen once again. He will attempt another January 6 but this time more organized and more violent. He and his MAGA cult Members would be roundly defeated. Trump would spend the rest of his life in jail, after which he will be martyred by extreme MAGAs. |
basilico:So Trump is now a jester or joker according to MAGAs. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IFqCJfUKlls?feature=share I am expecting you guys to become full terrorists once Trump is convicted. |
Amayabor1:Not only his Department of Justice, his family - Jared and Ivanka Trump did not accept the election fraud bullshit, even Fox admitted off camera that they did not believe the election fraud nonsense. |
