Let’s explore this status known as “Single”. It is the state of standing alone, having one, being individually set. As a person who is single, viewing one according to the definition of “single” could be a depressing thought. It is only in the peak of loneliness that individuals admit their need for companionship. Especially during one particular anti-single holiday appropriately nicknamed “V-day”, individuals desire relationship status. Though true for some, many singles embrace their single-hood. Being single does not pose to be a burden but rather an excuse to live with an individual frame of mind. The need or indifference to find love all depends on where an individual stands mentality and emotionally. Life suits us differently. As a single person, I have experienced the “singlehood” at its highs and lows. I can recount many stories from friends both male and female of their perspectives of being single. I found myself pleased to learn that single life is not universally similar. From my own experience and those of others, I compiled two separate lists–one being the top 5 advantages and the other being the top 5 disadvantages of being single. Advantages: You do not have to consider another person when making life decisions for yourself. You can enjoy the hunt of dating; meeting different people without the headache of having to commit. Going about your day carefree; leaving out and returning at your leisure without having to be courteous enough to your significant other regarding your whereabouts. Have more time to spend with friends and family. Friends and family tend to nag when you are always with your significant other and neglect to spend time them. During the holidays you get gifts solely for you as opposed to a couple or household gift. Disadvantages: You have to search for a date for outings that require one, i.e. company parties or double dates. You get less money for taxes During inclement weather, you often get restricted to the house with no one with whom you can share the moment When it rains it pours and when it doesn’t there is a drought. When you are on a roll meeting new people and exploring the dating scene it is like The Weather Girls’ song “It’s Raining Men.” But when the dating pool is fresh out and your bait is not as enticing, you feel the void. Family and friends always ask about past relationships that did not work out. Often, they ask at the wrong times, i.e. when you bring someone new to dinner. If you can relate to this list or would like to add to it, please email me at johnsonl0401@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. We singles have to stick together. Initially, CAF raised the issue of the fact that the venue had not yet been inspected and therefore would not stand a chance of hosting the match. However, the NFF assured the continental body of the quality of the facility and the readiness of the Akwa Ibom State Government to guarantee safety and security of all persons at the match. On Tuesday, CAF agreed to send an official to check out the venue next week, as the NFF pushes ahead with all arrangements to have a hitch –free match between the Eagles and the Bafana Bafana on Wednesday, November 19. The 30 -000 capacity, all –covered facility with a bullet –proof State Box for 70 persons, is one of the most magnificent sporting infrastructure on the African continent. Lokoja – The Director-General, Federal Budget Office, Dr Bright Okogu, on Wednesday said Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) received N441billion for its programmes from 2012 to date. Okogu made this known in Lokoja while presenting a paper titled “Three Years of Delivering SURE-P mandate: The Benefits and the Costs” at a two-day stakeholders’ conference organised by SURE-P. He said that although the programme had an annual allocation of N180 billion from the Federation Account, it received N126 billion in 2012, N180 billion in 2013, and N135 in 2014 billion. He said that the subsidy funds would have been utilized in other ways but that the establishment of SURE-P for the use of the money was on the insistence of President Goodluck Jonathan “after wide consultations with Nigerians”. According to him, in line with its mandate, SURE-P intervened in social safety net, health, road infrastructure, bridges and rail transportation, among others. “The purpose is to do what the people can see and enjoy,” he said. Okogu, however, expressed that the declining crude oil price may adversely affect the operations of SURE-P, explaining that SURE-P fund was dependent on the gap between the pump price of petroleum products and crude oil price. “Survival of the SURE-P is contingent on the continued price gap,” he said. He stated competition in the global oil market may get tougher in view of the changing dynamics in the market and discovery of oil in many African countries. Okogu also called for reintroduction of toll gates on roads to provide the necessary funds for their maintenance rather than leaving such expenditure to the government or SURE-P alone. https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/kechi.jpg The former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi has said that he was not sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation. Breaking his silence in Ilorin on Saturday over his sacking by the NFF, he argued that his contract with the NFF ended with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, saying it would be inappropriate for anybody to say he was sacked. He spoke at the Kwara State stadium during the final of the 28th edition of the All Financial Institutions Football competition. The NFF announced Keshi’s sacking on Thursday with Shaibu Amodu as his replacement. Keshi also said that the Eagles can still qualify for the African Cup of Nations, adding that the team only needed to work hard. He urged Nigerians to encourage the team. “I was never sacked by the NFF. It’s if you have an existing contract that you would be sacked. Super Eagles can still qualify for the 2015 AFCON. They have the chance, because the group is still open. They only need to work harder. “We need a lot of encouragement from Nigerians for the players to go ahead and qualify. I think we can qualify for the 2015 AFCON,” he said. Nigeria is currently in the third position of Group A with four points, trailing Congo with seven points and South Africa leading the group with eight points while Sudan is the last in the group having three points. Nigeria will play away with Congo on November 14, and at home with South Africa on November 19. Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama said he was sad to see Stephen Keshi relieved of his managerial duties. But the France-based goalkeeper backed the appointment of Shaibu Amodu as the Eagles’ caretaker coach, believing the 56-year-old has what it takes to turn the team’s fortunes around. Keshi, who guided Nigeria to their third Africa Cup of Nations glory in South Africa last year and led the team to a second round exit at the summer World Cup in Brazil, was sent packing on Wednesday night after the Eagles beat Sudan 3-1 in their Morocco 2015 AFCON Group A reverse fixture in Abuja. The former Nigeria captain, who managed the Eagles in their three 2015 AFCON qualifiers on a caretaker basis after his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation after the World Cup, was negotiating a new, improved contract with the NFF to continue as the Eagles coach, but the football body decided to pull the pin. The NFF announced Amodu as his replacement. But the ex-BCC Lions coach , who was twice sacked – after helping Nigeria qualify for the 2002 and 2010 World Cups, will babysit for a foreign manager. The NFF said the foreign coach would be appointed later. Nigeria risk missing out on the continental showpiece next year. The African champions are third in the table on four points – four points adrift of leaders South Africa and three adrift of the second-placed Congo. “It is sad that he (Keshi) is not with us,” the Lille custodian was quoted by supersport.com as saying on during the week. “He played the role of not just the coach but a father figure to us in the team and we will miss him for that. “The decision I will say rests with the FA. I believe they know what they are doing and they took the decision best to them. I am in no position to make decisions, and there is nothing I can do.” On the appointment of Amodu to take charge of the two games against South Africa and Congo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Enyeama said he is ready to work with the caretaker manager of the Super Eagles. The 32-year-old 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner said he had worked with Amodu in the past and would do his bit to help the national team. “I have worked with Amodu before in the national team, which is nothing new. So I am always ready to work with anyone we get as a coach,” the former Israel-based keeper said. Amodu will be in the dugout alongside Salisu Yusuf and Gbenga Ogunbote for the qualifiers against South Africa and Congo next month. SEE MORE: http://brainnewsng.com/enyeama-backs-amodu/ |
SOURCE: http://brainnewsng.com/i-refer-desperate-female-fans-to-my-unmarried-friends-tuface-idibia/ Legendary singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface, has explained how he handles female fans who do not want to respect his marriage. In a chat with Saturday Beats, the singer said that when a lady is trying to be too familiar with him, he introduces her to any of his single friends that is around at the time. “When I meet a female fan who is being unnecessarily familiar with me, I just greet her and move on with my life. If she is still being persistent, I would tell her that what she is looking for she cannot have. Then I introduce her to any of my single friends that is around,” he said. The singer hinted that three of his children are already showing signs of being singers. He also said that marriage has really brought a lot of changes into his life. https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Tuface1-360x225.jpg “Three of my children are already showing signs of being good singers without my interference. I would say I am a natural coach. Marriage has made me calm and helped balance my life. I don’t do some certain things anymore because I am married,” Tuface said. Recalling the death of his father recently, he said that it was a painful period in his life and it was the last time he cried. “The last time I cried was when my father died. When the doctor told me that he was dead, I could not believe it. It was then it dawned on me that I would not see him again,” he said. However, the lanky entertainer told Saturday Beats that if he had not been a musician, he probably would have been a goalkeeper. |

Lagos State is set to join the league of oil producing states in the country come next year as the joint venture partners on the Aje Field offshore Lagos have taken the final investment decision on the exploration of the field. A group led by Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited took the FID to develop the first phase of the Aje shallow water oil field for $220m. The aim of the first phase is to produce 10,000 barrels per day of oil from two target wells in the Oil Mining Lease 113 area. A re-entry of Aje-4 will form the first producer, while drilling of Aje-5 is expected to be the second. The plans include the use of Rubicon’s Front Puffin floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which produced oil from the Puffin field in the Timor Sea. The vessel will be brought up to specification soon, while the procurement of subsea equipment and the contracting of a drilling rig are progressing. The Aje field’s first stage is scheduled to be brought on stream at the end of 2015. “We believe that this development is good for Nigeria generally because our reserves base has not increased over the years as expected, because the international oil companies are not ready to invest since the Petroleum Industry Bill has not been passed,” an elated Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Lagos State, Mr. Taofiq Tijani, told our correspondent. Yinka Folawiyo is the operator with 25 per cent interest in the field. The partners are Vitol, 24.05 per cent; First Hydrocarbons Nigeria Limited, 16.875 per cent; Energy Equity Resources Limited, 16.875 per cent; Panoro Energy ASA, 12.19 per cent; and Jacka Resources Limited, five per cent. The JV partners had in January 2014 submitted the Field Development Plan for the Aje field to the Department of Petroleum Resources. The FDP was approved in March and is primarily focused on the development of the Cenomanian oil reservoir. The FDP envisages first oil commencing in late 2015 with mid-case reserves of 32.4 million barrels. The first phase of development includes two subsea production wells tied back to a leased FPSO. These wells will most likely comprise the re-completion of the existing Aje-4 well and a new well drilled close to the Aje-2 subsurface location. In addition, further potential on the block is being defined following the 3D seismic acquisition across both OPL 310 and OML 113. Lagos State had last year established its oil and gas company following the passage of a bill that sought to establish the Ibile Oil and Gas Corporation. The bill was to authorise the state government to invest and engage in oil and gas activities. http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/lagos-to-join-oil-producing-states-in-2015/ |
