Keshi was dismissed on October 16 by the Amaju Pinnick-led board, despite leading the African champions to a 3-1 win over Sudan in Abuja. By Ubong Sampson: The national body of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has barred the immediate past Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr Udom Emmanuel from purchasing the party’s nomination form for the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Our correspondent learnt that efforts by Udom to purchase the guber form has been frustrated since last week. In spite of the setback, Udom resigned his controversial SSG appointment last week to pursue a governorship ambition which many consider ill fated. A government house source revealed in confidence to our reporter that Udom had landed Abuja shortly after the party announced the commencement of nomination forms sale to purchase one for himself, but met a big surprise when the party refused to sell the form to him on grounds that “he is not qualified to run as governor”. SOURCE: http://brainnewsng.com/breaking-news-pdp-refuses-to-sell-nomination-form-to-udom/ The party questioned Udom’s membership status describing him as having “questionable membership record”. The PDP constitution says that for a member to qualify to seek an elective position, such a member must have been registered for not less than two consistent years. The source also disclosed that the party’s act was informed by some petitions against Mr Udom Emmanuel which they received from some factions in the aspirant’s state. “The petitions are perceived to be sponsored by people who are at the opposing end of both Udom Emmanuel and the (Akwa Ibom) state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio’s succession plan”, our source said. Part of the complaints contained in the petition against Udom, the source also revealed, was that the former Zenith Bank executive was never a genuine card-carrying party member before his aspiration came public sometime in the middle of last year. Both Akpabio and his godson, Udom are neck deep into resolving the issue but have continued to meet stiff opposition from all corners in Abuja. The situation may have informed the ongoing extreme quiet in the governor’s camp in the last two weeks. |
Great news | but will this money be channel to the right route? NIGERIAN POLITRICKS hmmmmmmmmmmmm |
Having a tattoo will not keep anyone from serving God. Some godly people have tattoos and are serving God and their tattoos do not interfere with what God is doing through them. Anything Satan tries to use for evil, God can turn and use it for good There are many dedicated and sincere Christians that have tattoos. This is not meant to say they do not love the Lord. God not only can use them, but does use them. Tattooing, according to the Bible has witchcraft “Roots” In addition to the above verse, Scripture also warns Christians not to disfigure their bodies in following verses: “ And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them”. 1 Kings 18:28 “Ye are the sons of the LORD your God; you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead”. Deuteronomy 14:1 Some people object to using Old Testament scripture as a reference to tattoos since the New Testament doesn’t speak of these things. However, in the New Testament, Christians are even called to a higher law. In the New Testament, Christians are told to glorify God in their bodies. This would include not marring their bodies with tattoos, as the principles in the Bible clearly state it is wrong to defile the bodies. “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What the Koran says about tattoos and cutting of bodies Koran education is important for every Muslim irrespective of gender. Tattoos are a growing trend in the world and most of the people question if tattoos have an acceptance in Islam or not? As far as the matter of tattoos is concerned, tattoos are built on body through extremely hurting the body and it is forbidden in Islam to hurt your body. According to Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen, tattooing which involves piercing with needle and which involves colours of dye are considered Haraam. It might not cause you pain or little pain, but it means changing the creation of Allah . In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: “May Allah curse the women who do tattoos and those for whom tattoos are done, those who pluck their eyebrows and those who file their teeth for the purpose of beautification and alter the creation of Allah.” (al-Bukhaari, al-Libaas, 5587; Muslim, al-Libaas, 5538). From the above narration, it is clear that Allah has cursed the women or man who adopts such things in their lives. Many scholars argue that this is one of the forms of deception and that makes it forbidden in Islam. Another school of thought argues that it is forbidden. . No matter what reason is behind it, Muslims also forbid it. The Bible warns against tattoos in Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) which says, “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord.” However, just because society approves of something does not make it right in the eyes of God. The Bible warns Christians who are considering getting one and tries to help overcome the consequences of those mistakes. http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-is-not-my-brother-amaechi/ The disagreement between President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, took a fresh turn on Saturday when the governor declared that the President was not his brother. President Jonathan and Amaechi, who are from the South-South geopolitical zone of the country, have been at daggers-drawn over ceded oil wells and political differences. Amaechi said Jonathan should not be referred to as his brother for failing to execute any project in the state. The governor, spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress mega rally at the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state to mark his seventh anniversary in office. He said, “When Yar’Adua was alive, Niger Delta Ministry was working. Now, it is only one item; East-West Road and they say he (President Jonathan) is our brother. He is not my brother; my brother is the man who delivers on his services for me. If the President says he is our brother, let him mention one project he has done for us. “APC is the solution to the protection of our interest. We must go there to vote out the PDP. It is not about our son. They tell you that you should not vote for these people because they are Hausa People; they are Muslims. “But the refinery in Rivers was built and commissioned by Tafawa Balewa; he was a northerner. Shagari started NAFCON, IBB commissioned; IBB started the Eleme Petrochemical, Abacha completed it. “They are all northerners; they are all Muslims. NLNG was started and completed by Abacha and he was a northerner and a Muslim. Bonny NLNG, NDDC, Niger Delta Ministry were established by northerners.” Also, former Head of State and APC’s presidential aspirant for the 2015 election, Maj.-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd), congratulated Amaechi on the projects executed by his administration. Buhari expressed the need for consolidation in order to achieve security of lives and property, describing it (security) as what Nigerians need most. |

For us, Carnival Calabar has grown bigger and bigger as we promised Cross Riverians and Nigerians when we came on board in 2007. With our vision of institutionalizing the event, by allowing private sector to be the main drivers while government regulates, there is greater hope that this Carnival will grow in lips and bounds,” he assured. The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVNU), has made a case for the establishment of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) focal centres in Nigerian universities. The Secretary-General of the Committee, Professor Michael Faborode, who disclosed the Vice-Chancellors position while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, said that such centres should take care of quarantine, treatment and development of EVD vaccines. According to him, there is at least one university in every state of the country which should render immediate attention to Ebola suspects. “Universities should be the focal points of Ebola attention; the government should take advantage of the 139 universities in the country to establish focal centres for Ebola activities both quarantining and curing. “The university should be a place where Ebola suspects are quarantined and taken care of in an isolated unit. “This is the type of service the university should render to the community both for now and future,” he said. Faborode added that there was need for universities to embark on research to develop vaccines and cure for EVD. He said that funds available to institutions locally should be channeled into such research while further funds should be sought from foreign donors. The secretary-general called for a practical approach to research in order to develop an effective, preventive and curative cure for the disease which he said was ravaging parts of the African sub-region. According to him, Nigeria has to sustain efforts at preventing EVD to avoid a comeback.
