Chreze: Thanks for your reply. I really don’t know anyone and I believe transferring money to someone’s account is not too cool. At least I will be wary getting funds to my account from someone I don’t know or the source of fund. I try not to ask for what I know I won’t be able to do or give if asked. The only option in this case is getting cash physically. This won’t be bad, but I trade and don’t really think it’s wise getting funds for that black market rate given. Trust me, I don’t expect anyone to offer less than that rate as money is hard to make( I respect that). But I don’t really dig that exchange rate used. I have seen it fly around on here, I don’t think it’s wrong, like I said, working and making money is not an easy thing, so I don’t expect anyone to do bonanza with it.
The summary is my own too much... What can you do for me in this case? Direct me to a way to get what I ought-to/need and I will be very much grateful. Thanks in advance. Bros Las Las you get the card this week. You will have to wait o. |

Chreze: Greetings,
Abeg aside from this Monzo, any other account one can open online and get card delivered to the house. The Monzo guys are yet to deliver the card and quarantine go finish tomorrow. They initially said it will be delivered between 30th n 3rd January, later I saw there was an adjustment to 31st to 4th. I want to assume it’s the holiday plus COVID. Now they are saying if I don’t receive it I should reorder another card. That’s gonna be another days again and I don’t think I can wait. I need to do some grocery/other shopping on Wednesday. If there is any bank that will let me open an account and get card instantly. I really need to have an account set up and funds transferred. Please i need suggestion for any bank in Glasgow that is ok and reasonable. Thanks
Ejo help a brother. Why cant you transfer the money to someone to help you get the cash. I'm not sure they practice the naija style of printing bank cards arbitrarily here. |

rigvod: Good day everyone. Pls I am back again. Noticed there is a landline socket already in my apartment probably installed by the last tenant for BT, I have rang BT and they say they will have to re-set up the landline connection which will cost something like 70 pounds but they will waive it off when they are doing the broadband. This is just paraphrasing. Pls what is the reason for landline and hope I won’t get bills sent to me for landline because I dnt think I would use it. Also is there anything else I need to know about this? Thank you in advance. You need landline for your broadband except you go through virgin. They are the only provider with fibre to the home so you wouldnt need a landline. Trust me, you wouldnt know your landline number or even use it all. |

What pained me I paid extra thinking it was a strong business laptop Go and buy lenovo thinkpad t430 with good specs. You can even spill liquid on it and still continue working |

LagosismyHome: Hummmm..... I have always used company laptop and January I had to buy my own laptop for work. Bought a business spec similar to what I use to at work from CURRYS Business section .... Unfortunately bought Dell as the only word I can use is unfortunately
Since then it been one problem or the other. They had to fix the laptop for free twice now since it's still under warranty but I cant understand how a new laptop has so much problems. Sorry to bust your bubble...you cant get a business laptop in shops. They can disguise it as business but I have some sand to sell to you... Imagine Dell supplying corporate laptops to organisation with 50k employees and all packed up within a year, that is a very bad business for Dell. So, what they do generally is build these laptops to be resilient so as to have repeat business. they dont break down eaily unless you make conscious efforts to destroy them. |

You cannot get a business laptops in shops, if consumer laptops are designed durable like business laptops and sold in shops, retailers would close shop. Most consumer laptops, if you use all day like i use mine, it wouldnt last 2 years...o ma burn ni. So, it is not about bend down or cheap stuff..Heck the the Thinkpad p50 i just bought was £800 because it has the specs I want. |

Chreze: Thanks for this. The Monzo was person to person I guess right, cos reading the Monzo rules they said they don’t accept any international payment. Sorry to border you on this.
For the laptop, I am new here and won’t want to start thru that root, guess it’s gonna take sometime. I just need like a laptop store where one get some discount and delivery within few days. Hp does 48hrs, while dell is 15days above because they make for you and deliver. Just somewhere with some discount to help man save a little.
Thanks bro I dont advise people to buy laptops in those shops like curry's johnlewis and ao etc. I would just go on ebay and get a good thinkpad. Those laptops are so rugged, you'd have to use them for life. I bought mine on ebay in 2012 and still working. I only had to change the hard drive too ssd and upgrade the ram. I have just bought another one cos I'm tired of using the old one. |

claremont: Agreed. The people who say that brexit will make the UK treat a Nigerian passport holder exactly the same as a French passport holder in terms of jobs are in for a shocker. The majority of the EU workers in the UK are already 'settled' here, the UK is their home and they are not leaving their jobs for a Nigerian passport holder.
I have attached photos of the Brexit draft agreement circulating on Twitter, make of it what you will.
I cannot understand why an immigrant is happy that the UK is closing its borders to fellow immigrants, albeit from the EU. The way some people think sometimes fill me with despair, and these are the same people who will scream racism when a white person doesn't sit next to them on the train. 01/01/21 isn't far away, let's wait and see. Preach brother. |

Odedenshi1: Well, my position is based on my experience with this set of people both at home and at the work place.
Just last week over 10 of them were dismissed at my place of work based on similar tendencies of fraud, trying to game the system.
I have an official mail to that effect. I do not mean to offend anyone by my comments, but just to stress the point of being vigilant with them.
Have a nice day ahead everyone. Cheers Now change that to Nigerians and see how it feels. In every country, you have those set of useless image tarnishing people. |
