janeade: Gd evening.went to d embassy today n waz refuse a visa...an agent help me to fill my form...told me to act as a married woman, whereas am not...dat I will get the visa quickly...I regreted my actions today...cos everytin abt me waz fake....my questn is(1)can I reapply (2).when can I reapply is it after 6 months. N.B am a student n I waz reali sent an invitation letter...to see his children n wife....n I will love to visit usa...am not stayin dere.am still skulin n in my 2year.tanks Your BIG, BIG problem now is that whatever lies that agent told are on your record for ever. YOU are held totally responsible for anything submitted. What was the reason given for your refusal (exact details are important) Was it only 212b? Any time you submit an application in the future this information will be there. Do not think of three months then telling the truth and blaming agent. The visa officer has heard that a thousand times and you will be rejected straight away. |

hi2chuxy: Thanks for your prompt response.. For more clarity, do you mean one can defer over there or here in Nig.? A friend of mine once told me that his friend went to the US and reported to the school. He gave them stories about some financial set backs. He said they allowed him to defer and gave him a letter in that regard and he was allowed to work for the first session before going back to school. pls can that be true? Anything can be possible but you do not plan your life on such an outside chance. They are just as likely to call immigration to ship you home. |

hi2chuxy: Good morning haos, pls i have heard of graduate students deferring their admissions on getting to the US for the first session probably for the right reasons (finance) i guess.
Pls is that possible? And if it is, how will the student get his or her visa to complete his studies? You can defer study BEFORE joining a school. If you get there and can not pay they will reject you and notify immigration to cancel your visa. You must then leave or become illegal. |

Please Gurus in the house say someting am thinking of doing the next one in Lagos. Sorry but you have messed this up badlyYou have a major change in what you want to study but can not explain why. Computer to Mech Eng, what are your plans after study, do you know anything about the subjects? This is the first thing that you should have thought of. You applied to Community College which we keep telling people is a risk. You were un-clear about your reasons or purpose. The visa officer will have noted that you seem desperate to get to USA by changing story. You should wait a year now and get your life and story in order. |

7Alexander: I did, I just had to read between the lines again. You noted that i have to adequately convince the VO that I have ties and obligations that will make me return to Nigeria, My question is, how exactly do I do that? I have no landed property. Single, though engaged. Employed. Have immediate family. Please advise me on how to go about the conviction. Thanks for your consideration. Cc worry359 This is where it is hard for young people. A letter from your employer stating that you are taking leave and will return to your job will help. But you need to have been employed for some time, a year or more is better. |

orekelewa07: Hi, please I wil like to apply for a tourist uk visa I just finished school, and I want to spend two weeks. I have like 1m from my savings and tip. I want to sponsor myself how do I go about it If you are single and un-employed you will need to try VERY hard to convince them that you have strong ties to return home. They will not like that you will empty your bank account for a holiday trip, no ties to return again. Read back to learn a lot more. |

7Alexander: @vicjustice and justwise. I want to apply for a canadian visit visa. But I'm having issues with the best way to go about the application process to avoid a refusal. I work in a company which is owned by my uncle so I intend to state that my company is sponsoring my visit Please what documents and procedures should i follow? I have four different bank accounts, but I intend building up one from now till October. Rejection straight away!A company can ONLY pay for your visit if the intended reason is trade. You would need letters from customers or suppliers inviting you and giving details of why. You need a bank account with a good balance and record of transactions that can be traced. No sudden large unexplained deposits. Four bank accounts is too many and confusing for the V.O. keep it simple. |

semac00: If you are talking about an E- Passport, then it is not going to be easily solved outside Abuja. If the mistake in one or two letters or alphabet then it can be solved through the Nigerian consulate in her current location. For those saying she should just go for a new passport, that will not be possible with the e-Passport. the moment she places her fingers for finger print it will bring out the details of her current passport and will not be possible to just edit without permission from the Comptroller General of the Nigerian immigrantion. My advice and your friends only choice if the passport is so important is to travel to Abuja, with his/her birth certificate, news paper publication of change of name with an application to the Comptroller General. with lots of documents having the name she wants to change to. original WAEC, NATIONAL I'D, DRIVERS LICENSE ETC will help ease the process. Also cash money to bribe immigration officials. |

nextedge: I'm going to the US to visit a friend. He said there is no reqirement that one should hold a particular amount of money while coming. In fact he said I should just hold like $500 in case of any need to buy something during the layover. Please I want to know if not having a particular amount of money as a visitor can put one into problem at the airport here and POE over there? Those who have been to the US can help shed light on this. Thanks You may be asked where you are staying, so either a letter from your friend offering accommodation, or money to pay hotel bills. |

This is where you must do some work. Find schools that teach your Ph.D (we don't know what it is.) Apply for a place and ask about scholarship. Only the schools can answer you with facts depending on all the circumstances of your case. |

brilantio: House please help. What's the primary occupation of a person who just graduated December last year, is awaiting his induction ceremony around next month before he starts his internship but at the same praticising in his dad's co. for the time being with no pay, more like training. Should he say "Student" and fill in the school he just finished from or "Not employed" and explain his situation in the box or "Others" and use his dad's co. as current employment and explain to the vo. Please advise. It's a visit visa. If you are not a student, and not being paid by your dad. Then you are un-employed. Trying to twist words will not fool a visa officer. |

Monspubis: Ok please I hv another question, what really constitutes a good bank statement?the account I plan to use is a business account(my mums),d issue is she deposits large chunks and withdraws same.sometimes she leaves very low balance in the account. My question is if d ECO looks at d balance over d 6 month period or just d turnover of d account as well as the balance when the statement is requested? Thank u A healthy account shows money in and out retaining a strong balance. If the account keeps dipping to near zero it is not healthy. |

Something here smells bad. If she has a German passport which will get her into any country in the world. Why mess with useless African passports. There is something bad behind all of this! |

Now i want to reaply with my boys by August. My husband is not interested in traveling. I hope they give us. Kindly advise pls. My name is still in my maiden name. If you are still using your maiden name with two children it could look like you have no ties to your husband. You have to give very strong proof that you are not trying to immigrate with your boys or you will get 212b rejection. |

N101: Best advice I've ever heard? Go to Nigeria with a plan, and rely as little as possible on other people. Survey the ground to see how your plan can be implemented and be aware of the obstacles - there wil be many and they will try you. As others have said, be wary as a lot of people will be hostile towards you, both family and "friends". The opposite is also true. There will be many people (and relations) that want to be your friend That is while they think that you have money. See where these fair weather friends go if you have problems! |
