David and his wife Rita lives in Ibadan, David works in one of the federal research institutes in Ibadan while Rita is unemployed, he gives his wife N60k for food at the end of every month. He is on a monthly salary of N135k. Rita will start complaining that food and groceries have finished between 15th and 20th of the month which have not been going down well with her husband. He thought that N60k should be manageable for a month for a family of 4 (David, his wife and their 2 kids), his wife insisted that N60k is grossly insufficient. This has been causing friction in the home for sometime. Rita had to report her husband to a counselor in their church. When invited, David insisted his wife must give detailed account of how N60k was expended in just 15-20 days before he'll agree to discuss any thing with the pastors. Rita confessed that she usually give her father N30k every month without the knowledge of her hubby since David had earlier stopped all financial assistance to her family. She only manages N30k which has not been enough. When asked why he stopped financial assistance to his father in-law who is a retiree, he said he took the action when he realised that his wife's six siblings who are all doing well in Lagos have become irresponsible by neglected their father to only Rita and knowing fully well that Rita is not employed, he was the one carrying the responsibilities. Is it right for David to have stopped all financial assistance to his in-law? Is it right for Rita to have devised ways of giving money to her dad from her home keeping allowance when her husband stopped giving him money and without her husband's knowledge? Is it really the duty of a man to shoulder the financial responsibility of his in-laws? Is N60k really enough to cater for a family of 4 in Ibadan or elsewhere in Nigeria today? |

This guy named Kunle worked as a casual worker in my office. He had accommodation problem with his wife and 2 kids in 2014. His salary as a casual worker were not paid regularly and therefore couldn't pay rent, he was sent packing. I live in a colonial style bungalow owned by the institution we worked for, its a two bedroom bungalow with a three room boys quarter. Kunle's direct boss begged me to help him out at that time and out of pity for him and his family and since two of the rooms in the bq wasn't occupied at that time I agreed. I discovered within his first six months of stay at the bq that his wife is a terrible troublemaker. Its one fight or the other with her husband almost on a daily basis. I also housed a single lady who is a relation of my wife in one of the rooms in January 2015. This lady works as a teacher in a private school not too far from our apartment. Kunle's wife quickly assumed the role of a landlady immediately this other lady moved in. She will dictate the jobs to be done by this Lady. Sweeping, watching toilet, cutting grasses around the bq. I didn't see this as bad initially but when I saw the rudeness, arrogance and crudity of Kunle's wife, I told the other lady to report her to her husband. That was when we discovered that her husband had no gut to call her to other. On two occasions in 2016, this lady's room were burgled and all her dresses (I mean all) carted away. People around who like this lady had to donate new dresses to her. Her headmistress also gave her dresses. Three months after the second burglary incident, one security guy who was searching for snail in the bush around our apartment saw all the dresses in an old and abandoned water well and reported to me, we got there only to discover that all the dresses had decomposed. We couldn't accuse anyone for this but Kunle's wife attitude towards her gave rise to suspicion that she might be responsible. I wanted to involve the police but my wife and the Lady said I shouldn't. There was a day also in 2016 that Kunle's wife nearly beat up this lady but for the timely intervention of myself, my wife and Kunle himself. I called the boss who begged for accommodation for Kunle and he said he is tired of the woman. He said this woman also comes regularly to fight with her husband in their office, he asked me to send them packing which I did. I gave them 2 weeks to move out. This woman insulted the world out of I and my wife that day. She even accused me of working against the conversion of Kunle to a permanent staff, something I knew nothing about. After 10 days, Kunle came in company with his mother in-law to beg me, saying he had no place to go to, no money to rent a house, salary as casual worker not regular. I pitied him again and allowed him to stay. His wife later apologized to me and my wife. She tried to behave well for few months and started her problems again. It has gotten to a level where I could no longer tolerate her wahala, the man that begged me for accommodation for Kunle have told me not to involve him again since I wasn't firm enough in sending him packing. I'm in a deep shit. Someone informed me this afternoon that some people were fighting in my bq, it was this woman and her husband again. Before I could get there, she packed her bags, took her children and travelled to their hometown for Christmas according to what people who were mediating between her and her husband told me. I saw the husband also climbing a bike as I approached the bq, he went away since then and his phone line has been switched off. This time around, I wanted to tell him to quit latest by December 31. I'm tired, this is my first time of seeing this kind of madness, and I have coped with this for more than 3 years or what can I do? |
duduade:Correct guy. |

IBBG:What you fail to understand is that the number of registered voters in Kano State alone is more than the total number of registered voters in the entire southeast combined. Do your calculations again bro. Atiku cannot defeat Buhari in Edo, Cross River, Ebonyi and Imo States. |
FarahAideed:Don't worry, we'll test PMB'S popularity in 2019 when if he contests for 2nd term, don't kill yourself before your time Bro. |
Janette was my university girlfriend. I met her through her friend Dolapo when I was in 400 level. She was in 200 then. I graduated a year before her because she read a 4 year course while I read a 5 year course. We were so fond of each other, read together, attend functions together, attend fellowships together etc. Her mum was an accountant in the university so I met her several times. I even met her dad twice. I wanted to introduce her to my family during the easter of 2007, that's about 9 months into her NYSC when she was at home but she put up an unbecoming attitude which I couldn't explain. I tried to get an explanation from her but she didn't bulge. She travelled back to Kano, her base without informing me. I had to travel to Kano to visit her, that was when she opened up to me that her mum did not approve of our relationship and she wld therefore call it off. I wept before her like a baby that day at her Zoo Road Kano apartment. I lodged in an uncle's house at Sabon Gari and travelled down south to the university at Abeokuta to see her mum the following morning. I met her mum in her office and she gave me the real bomb. Janette would get married December 2007 to a "more responsible" guy from their state. I was shattered, but I held my peace, got back to Akure and nurse my wound for some months. Janette got married 8th December 2007 to Chuks a car dealer at Tincan. I got over it, met my own wife and got married in 2009. I didn't hear about Janette again until she sent me a friend request on Facebook in 2012. I added her and started seeing her picture and that of her beautiful family once in a while. In 2013, she introduced her husband to me as a car dealer who can get me good cars directly from North America. I fear car dealers, but Mr Chuks actually surprised me by getting a good corolla for me in 2014, I still drive it around, still like toks. I found him to be a very honest and straightforward businessman. He has sold cars to 11of my friends and office colleagues since 2014. Mr Chuks have treated me like a brother every since I know him, anytime someone comes from me to buy car from him, he'll send something to me. Battery, car rugs, car lock etc. I haven't set my eyes on Janette since 2007 even though we relate on Facebook. I don't really know if Janette told her hubby that we were once lovers, I don't know even till now but two days ago, she sent me a message thru Facebook messenger. In the message, she begged me to forgive her from the bottom of my heart over how she treated me in 2007. She said she really need the forgiveness so as to "forgive herself also"; I don't know what this mean. She also said I have helped her by helping her husband get buyers at a time the business was going down, when " those sales were answered prayers" to use her exact words. I replied her that I've forgiven her since 2008, that I was shattered by her action but that all I'll feelings towards her vanished from me since 2008. I also told her she also helped me by introducing me to her husband who happened to be a sincere businessman having been duped by car dealers twice. Janette's message was a big surprise to me because I thought we've gotten over the relationship issue since we started relating on Facebook in 2012. I told her that she has a very good family just as I too. Dear nairalanders, I hope I've answered her well, she hasn't sent a response to my reply till now. |

I just arrived home 40 minutes ago. I was driving from Challenge in Ibadan to Akure this evening, I took off by 6 pm thinking that I'll get to my destination latest by 8.30-9.00pm because of the bad road from Ibadan to Ile-Ife. Just about to negotiate the bend that linked the Iwo Road -Oyo Expressway with Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa-Akure road at Iwo Road, I met 3 police officers who stopped me. I didn't really bother since I have all my papers intact. Having checked the papers, I thought it was time to zoom off only for the inspector among them to tell me I am driving a stolen vehicle, he pointed out to me that the VIN number on the paper is different from the one on the vehicle. The error was actually that instead of writing number 1, a small letter 'i' was written. All effort I made to convince them it was an error made at licensing office fell on deaf ears, they said I must drive the car to their station at Iwo Road or I pay 5k, all I had on me was N1200, and I wasn't willing to part with everything since I don't know where I'll see ATM machine. The ones at Iwo Road were filled up with people on long queues. I begged them to collect N500 they refused, I had to drive to their station. On getting there they asked me to write a report which I did, I called a lawyer friend who resides in Ibadan, this really infuriated the officer on duty and the one who followed me from where I was arrested. I think it's a minor issue but they really made a serious case out of it. My lawyer friend had to call a senior police officer who also called the station's DPO, they told the DPO on phone right in my presence that I argued with their inspector, drive a car with fake papers and tried to bribe an officer, please what type of country is this? The DPO later came and I explained myself to him, he look like a gentleman. He listened to me and told me I ought not to argue with them, he later asked them to release my car to me after about 10 minutes. I wanted to drive off only to discover that one of the front tyre had been deflated, I had to spend another 15 minutes changing to spare tyre. I left that station by 9.30 pm and got to Akure 12.15am. Again what manner of country is this? |

Gbenga, a medical doctor have a good family. Married to a pharmacist and they have 2 boys. He claimed to have met Chinenye, a student of university of Ibadan during a live concert in Lagos in march 2017, one thing led to the other and they started dating. After one month of dating, Gbenga decided to call off the relationship and this marks the beginning of his ordeal in Chinenye's hand. The girl had recorded their conversations without the knowledge of Gbenga. She sent these romantic calls to Gbenga and demanded N2.5million if he doesn't want his wife to have a copy of it by the end of October 2017. Gbenga claimed to have begged her profusely and gave her 50k and that she collected the money last week only for her to send the phone number of Gbenga's wife to him last Friday with a message, don't joke with me, here's your wife's number, I just chatted with her on wathsapp. Gbenga's wife later told her husband that a lady told her she has some important information for her on wathsapp and that she stopped when she asked for the information and that several attempts made to reach out to the number after that wathsapp episode failed as the number was completely switched off.Gbenga is finding it hard to believe that Chinenye is hell bent on destroying his home and he is not ready to part with any more money to her since he didn't even believe Chinenye would leave him even if he pays the 2.5million. Good people of the house, this is a case of wahala dey sleep, Gbenga go wake am, do you have any advise for him? |

She actually needs a car as a result of her daily activities, school runs, office things etc. Budget is 800k. Her dad have advised her to go for a Nissan Primera(1998 model), golf 3 or Mazda 626. Former Governor Mimiko of Ondo State told someone as far back as December 2014 that GEJ will not win 2nd term yet he told the same GEJ in February 2015 as his campaign coordinator in the southwest that he'll give him 1 million votes in Ondo State and 10 million votes in the southwest. Gov Wike is right, the people around GEJ actually deceived him. GEJ lost in Mimiko's hometown, he could only record a narrow win in Ekiti, the way only state where he won in the southwest. |
