You have a point but there is better paying jobs in USA and the government still give food stamps even to people with jobs. I'm not for or against stomach infrastructure but to condemn it is evil. UK, USA, Germany all have different kinds of stomach infrastructure so why can't Ekiti state have one? Queenlovely: Nigeria will start coming to condemn the governor.
But let us think for a minute. This thing will continue like this till infinity. I believe if there was better paying job nobody would even look at government job.
Imagine we sell shares of 100 each to 180 million Nigerians. We would raise enough capital to even send a man to space. Break scientific barrier and build factories. We would be giant of africa. We Won't depend on your politicians.
Even we could put electricity in every home. But we start complaining |

What does Fayose ambition and Buhari forgiveness have in common? Nigeria need working institutions and not one man can do it all like Buhari and his abject failure is for all to see. Working economy world over built institutions because man last for few years while institution last forever. I'm neither for PDP or APC because either can make Nigeria better without going to the basics which is build institutions that work and things will fall in place.. lightblazingnow: When you have just one kick to score the golden goal, you might technically be confused on the style to adopt.

You can buy a house with No ID. Just pay cash and you're good to go. HungerBAD: It is different when it is in Western Countries.
There are long processes you have to go through before buying properties, and it requires positive identifications. Don't forget that the buyers will have to come through the borders of the country, and they will require some kind of Visa to come in,and that Visa will be in their names.
Even Properties bought with a company fronting for them, can still be traced to the owners. And even in some Countries like the US, there are still one or two vetting processes the name has to go through even if he is paying cash, that a lot of people are not aware of. There is a Black list database for terrorists and Launderers that they have to run their name through, and if it fails, they will not be allowed to purchase a property in the United States.
If the properties are in in his names in any Western Country, then it is his.
Magu lies do not hold water.
Let us wait for the SAID properties to be listed. For Magu to come out early fighting, then i suspect it must be the truth, |

How many airline will want to take a risk on the airport when it is obvious they are going to make a lose due non patronage. We need to have our priority right in Nigeria. US deport UK citizens and UK deport US citizens.. Deportation can happen for various reasons and you can be allow to enter same country that deport you as long as you are not deported on criminal charges. TWoods: Good luck to you both.
I think the problem isn't that Nigerians are pessimistic, it is a question of why Nigerians have a predilection for doing things the crooked way. If we were simply honest, threads like this would not exist and we would not require a visa to go anywhere.
Also we need to be sure that we are describing the same situation. I doubt the UK or US would be willing to grant you a visa knowing that you've once been deported for falsifying a visa. But as i said, feel free to try. |

You are wrong. I had been deported before and i still got F1 visa 4 years ago. I really don"t understand while Nigerians generally are pessimist. All they see is the dark side of life TWoods: If this is true then your sister can forget about going to the US, Canada, the UK etc. The question of whether you have ever been deported from any country is asked on their application forms. Stating the use of a falsified visa as the reason is sure to lead to an automatic denial. Sometimes, pure honesty is better than endless fasting and prayer. |

$120 is money when you have your rent, gas, water, car note and God forbid you have a student loan to pay each months. My point is simple, nothing come cheap and for Nigerians to think government can do everything for then is to expect irregular services. I am a beneficiary of free education in Nigeria and I also paid for my degree elsewhere and I can authoritatively tell you, I will rather pay for quality education than enrolled in free but strike infected, lectures victimization of studentstudent, missing scripts etc. koboko69: Why didnt y add that the $120 comes with unlimited 4GLTE. TV/Movies › Re: Nigeria Grants Tax Reliefs To TSTV Africa by xandy84: 5:06pm On Oct 02, 2017 |
You're on point. Nigerian want good stuff but does not want to pay for it. Cable TV is expensive every part of the world. It cost over $120 to get a decent channels in States and it could go as high as $250 with all the add on. Good stuff does not come cheap thought DSTV monopoly is long overdue but the new Cable TV is not a rival for DSTV. I am of the opinion DSTV would concentrate on the rich while the new cable TV target the middle class and the poor. Chartey: Nollywood producers will still prefer to give Africa Magic their new movies because DSTV pays them better.
DSTV has poured millions of dollars in into the Nigerian Professional Football League without any profit yet the govt did not give them any tax relief. I see this development making the NFF very uncomfortable.
TV stations like Soundcity and Hip TV will still prefer the DSTV platform because they pay them better. Besides DSTV is partly responsible for the acceptance of Nigerian music across Africa.
Many people are addicted to the shows Telemundo and Zee World which TSTV does not have. Not everybody watches sport. That was the same assumption that killed HiTv.
I don't see DSTV collapsing. They're in so many countries although Nigeria is their second most important market. They have over 200 channels with something for everybody.
People don't know that subscription is actually cheaper in Nigeria than for instance Ghana. Cable TV is a luxury everywhere in the world. Sky is expensive in the UK too.
This competition will be good for the Nigerian consumer and is welcome but people please let's not get our hopes too high. TSTV has to earn credibility and our support. |
Education › Re: 10 Carry Over In My Final Year. What Should I Do? by xandy84: 4:46pm On Sep 18, 2017 |
I disagree with you on some point. You can still gradate with second class lower with 10 carry overs. Academic success does not necessarily translate to success in life. My advice to your friend is 1. She need to admit, accept her current situation and talk to her parents cos NO hiding place now 2. Extra year is not an end to life. All she needs to is face her extra year and pass those courses and move on with her life. 3. She can use her extra year to her advantage by looking into her passion and go for it Note: I have close to 5 carry overs in my undergraduate program and I still gradate with 3.08 CGPA.. eezeribe: I don't know what her current CGPA is... But with 10 carryovers,I doubt if it's up to 2.0... I would suggest the following options for her :
1)If she is like the average Nigerian girl, let her manage and write the carryovers,if she can at least pass them, graduate with a 'University attempted degree' and get married because that is the highest achievement of the average Nigerian girl.
2)If she has career dreams and passions, and her sponsors are still willing to help her,she should quietly write JAMB UTME,apply for her dream course Banking and finance and start all over again..
3)If she and her sponsors cannot stand to bear an extra year, she should quietly drop out of the University and get married or venture into business, while telling the whole world that she is a graduate (so many successful businessmen and politicians in Nigeria, are living like this)
3)If she is too frustrated, she can quietly jump into the Lagos lagoon because I wonder what she was doing to accumulate 10 carryovers....

Your analysis is flawed. You forget to minus dependants, unemployed and senior citizens. You can't just tax everybody in a state regardless of their employment status. mrvitalis: This is actually very small to run a state
Imagine my state imo with over 3million people with 17bn in 6 months ??
If every individual is taxed 5k a month that's 15bn every month and with that we will get our desired development and we will have reason to hold our governors accountable
But no we decide to spend far more to achieve nothing
A typical car owner in Nigeria will spend 400k a years averagely to maintain his cars
But as him to pay a tax of 10k a month for road maintaince that will save his car he will protest
We have over 11 million cars in Nigeria ...if on average each pays 10k every month that's 110bm that's over 1.2 trillion on road maintaince
Say federal government takes 30% and states 70% of what you contribute tell me why we would have bad roads |
