eazzzy1: When I was growing up in the 90’s, my dad decided he would put his kids on a monthly allowance. This was in 1999, my allowance was 500 naira.
The first time we got the ‘alert’ was a Saturday evening, I quickly took out #50 for flexing, I headed to the aboki at the juncture to buy suya.
Now in 1999 suya price started at #10 for a sizeable portion, I bought x 5 of a sizeable portion. I went home anticipating how I would devour my suya before going to bed.
On getting home my mum asked ‘what did you buy’? I pulled the suya out of the plastic bag and she looked at me like I murdered two people. She would take me back to the aboki to question him on why he would sell #50 suya to a kid. Of course sliced suya could not be returned so we took it back home. She seized the suya, gave me the hottest abaras I ever received. I slept after crying.
The next morning she gave me the talk. Our conversation went this;
Mum: how much is your allowance?
Me: #500
Mum:How much did you spend last night?
Me: #50.
Mum: If you spend #50 every night how long will your allowance last?
Me: Ten days
Mum: If your dad spent his salary in ten days where will your allowance, pocket money and school fees come from?
Me: dumbfounded
She gave me back my now cold suya. Collected the remaining of my allowance, handed 100 naira to me for the rest of the month.
The next allowance, I took out #100 and handed #400 over to her and that would continue till I finished primary school. At my graduation my mum bought a BMX bicycle and a white trainers from my savings. I became the first child in my family to own an asset paid for from pocket.
When I got into secondary school, saving was already an habit. I remember my siblings coming to collect money for fuel and food from me, ‘we need fuel borrow us 1k daddy will refund you when he comes’. Some times my dad would owe me to the tune of 10,000 naira then refund me in lump sum.
When I finished serving, I had over #700,000 in my bank account all from savings. No income asides NYSC & PPA allawee.
Currently, I have saved about 90% of my salary since 2015, then using the lump sum for something good. When I bought my house in 2018 I had 46% in down payment, as against the customary 5%. I have never bought a car with bank financing. All these because I don’t spend on the things I don’t need.
That advice made a huge impact in my life.
Cultivate the habit of saving this new year. The flexing, the expensive vacations, hair cuts, fancy designers you pass on today will make a difference in your life in the long run.
Happy New year my peoples. Nice anecdotes. |

All it takes is posting a heinous plan against our government and twenty four to seventy two hours later you’ll get fished by the appropriate authorities. Woe betide you if this platform has to aid in your search. Na that one easy pass.
I am not trying to scare anybody. I only want us to stay safety-conscious and put at the back of our minds that no online medium is truly anonymous, even those which claim they are. The Yahoo boys and scammers here hit small-time targets hence nobody cares for their activities apart from their victims. At that some are still caught and made to face justice or lengthy court cases. If that’s not enough proof people get caught here then I don’t know what is. Bump. True that. |

OkanlawonB: Citizenship by birth is still possible only in USA and Canada, no EU country grant such citizenship again. It was the Irish Repuplic that last did that but from 2005 onwards no longer possible. UK`s citizenship by birth ended in the early 80`s. From my personal experience the process of child birth in Nigeria is far more efficient and less complicated than it is in Europe. In Nigeria there is less need for cesarean section because our pregnant women in Africa naturally do more excercise and eat less fatty foods than the Women in Europe or North America. Coming to Europe just to give birth after paying so much money does`not make any sence. Child birth in Europe for residents and citizens is free. Nicely put. |

247Hustler: The road to America
By the end of March 2022, I have received responses for all my school applications. I have four total offers with one being funded. I was very happy but I decided to keep calm as I have read several cases of people being denied visas at the embassy.
I proceeded to arrange for the payment of my SEVIS and visa fees. I had a little delay with the payment of my SEVIS fee, so I could not pay on time. For this reason, I missed the early dates that were released for the interview. When the money was finally paid, I started looking for interview dates in Abuja. This process was arguably one of the hardest as dates were always not available. After a series of sleepless nights and sleeping on my computer keyboard, I managed to get a date that was a few days to resumption. I picked this date and began my preparation for the visa interview.
When it was two days before my interview, I left Ogun State for Abuja by road. Prior to this time, I have read news of kidnappings on the road. Although the news greatly disturbed me and my loved ones, the flight cost was exorbitant and going for that option would create a big hole in my finances considering my current and future expenses.
I got to Abuja at night and lodged at a guesthouse for two nights. On the day of the interview, I woke up very early and went to the US Embassy at Diplomatic Drive. When I got there, I met other people who were the for the same purpose and I went straight to the front. About an hour later, we lined up and were told to go in after the checks.
Throughout the process, I was so nervous because the stakes were so high. Since I was the first person in the queue, I was also the first person to be interviewed by the visa officer. My interview lasted for less than three minutes and I was approved. I quickly took my files and left the embassy for the guesthouse. Then I called my family and friends to inform them about the good news. It seemed surreal! My visa has been approved and I will be going to America!
A few weeks later, I booked my flight and the travel was scheduled for December. After spending time with my family and loved ones, I departed Nigeria for the United States in December 2022.
Yes, dreams do come true! I hope someone will try again one more time before giving up on life. Surreal. Thumbs up! |

247Hustler: Going solo: using freelancing to finance the dream
At the point of quitting my HR job in Lagos, I decided to create an account on Upwork. The site was easy to create an account but I found it difficult to decide what to include and not include so I could make my profile attractive to clients. Nonetheless, I read a couple of things online and used the information to set up my account, and then left the account as there was no time to apply for jobs.
However, a few weeks after I resigned from my job, I got invited for a permanent job that would pay about eight hundred thousand naira (#800,000) per month. It was a US-based company and the client was willing to hire many people for the same role. Since I have never submitted any proposal in the past, I struggled on what to include and not include in the proposal. Due to my inexperience, I couldn’t write a good proposal and answered the screening questions poorly. This made me the only one that did not get the job out the four of us that were invited to apply. Although I didn’t get the job, I was happy I was considered. Then I continued to apply on both LinkedIn and Upwork. I got two other ones around October and November but didn’t earn anything from them.
In December 2021, I was back in Ogun State and penniless again, but this time like the proverbial prodigal son, broke and penniless. My aunt cried when she saw me because she thought I needed stability and I was not going to achieve that with my pattern of life that was filled with costly adventures. She didn’t understand why I couldn’t just continue with my job on the Island since the pay was not totally bad for someone with that year of experience. But for me, it was just a transitional phase towards something bigger.
From January 2022, I became more aggressive with my application, and by the middle of February, I landed a gig with a company in the US. This job took about two months and I earned about one million naira (#1,000,000) for the first time by the end of the project. I later got another long-term project with a company in Ireland. I got other big projects that I declined because they would run throughout the whole year and I was expecting to leave the country before then. Overall and for the first time ever, I made about three million naira (#3,000,000) from freelancing within seven months!
Edited: I noticed many readers are curious about my course of study and my freelance niche. Here is the answer below.
I studied one of the social science courses, and my Upwork gig was in the Human Resources niche.
I understand why people are so focused on those two but it is important to state that they are not so important. The reason is because: a) one can freelance with any skill as long as they are good at it; b) your undergraduate discipline does not really matter when applying for study abroad. |

247Hustler: The search for a feasible solution
Even though I have read stories of how people make money online, I have never tried it and the whole thing seemed like rocket science to me. Okay, maybe I have made money online before but the method was not sustainable. I learned gambling from one of my friends during the final year of my undergraduate days and I lost more money than I ever earned. So, I knew by experience that making it through gambling, if anything, was a pipe dream.
Nonetheless, I began my research into the skills I could learn and start earning money within three months. Crazy right? Yes, it was! That was the timeline I had, otherwise, I would find myself on the streets beginning for alms. In the course of the research, I came across different skills and businesses I could venture into. As you may already know, a bunch of the things I found were not just practical, at least in my situation. Some of the practical ones were UI/UX design, front-end development, graphics design, digital marketing, sales, data analytics, writing, and recruiting. I decided to try front-end development, but after a few weeks, I found out I could not make money from it within the timeline, so I gave up on it.
Recruiting looked feasible and I have read so much about it in the past, and even did a short diploma course on Alison when I was still working in customer service. Hence, I decided to try it out. At the same time, I registered for a two-week course with one of the leading Human Resources practitioners in Nigeria. After the training, we were encouraged to apply for jobs in the field but I didn’t get any results within a few weeks.
Time was going and my savings was depleting fast. For this reason, I thought about gambling again. I would play small odds to double my little stake of five thousand (#5,000) or a little above that. This time, I was lucky and I recorded better winnings than my losses. The money I earned from this enabled me to hang on.
While this was going on, I got an entry-level role in human resources in Lagos. The pay was less than a hundred thousand naira (<#100,000) and the job was on the Island. I thought this was a good opportunity to practise my new skills and make money at the same time. The only problem was that I needed to slow down on my American dream. I took the job anyways. |

247Hustler: The American dream
The first time I ever conceived the idea of travelling to America was in 2018 when I was checking on my friend and senior colleague who travelled to the US at the same. In the course of our conversation, she gave me a faint idea of the process and the total cost. Although this was a great idea, I couldn’t act on it because I was fresh out of university, broke, jobless, and desperate for survival. Nonetheless, I decided to act on this idea after I lost my job in 2020.
Back in my apartment, I thought about my options and called my friend in Ibadan to discuss my plans, the chief of which was travelling out of the country even though I had no money to execute them. I also told him I would need to stay to leave Lagos and stay with him for some time. He agreed and I joined him in April 2020. During this time, I had already bought a mini laptop out of my savings and I had less than a hundred thousand (#100,000).
After a few days in my new place, my friend informed me that he had just secured a fully funded Master's scholarship to one of the major countries in Europe and I was so happy for him. This meant I have to figure out whatever I needed to do on time as he would be leaving the country soon. The news motivated me and gave me the sense of urgency I needed to execute my plans. For this reason, I started my research on the internet and joined a couple of WhatsApp groups for people travelling to the US, and within a few weeks, I gathered all the information needed to begin my US journey even though I had no money for the execution. |

247Hustler: Getting a regular job, financing my education, and graduation
The same month, my uncle-in-law informed me about another job at a local brewery in their area. The company was into the brewing of alcoholic herbal mixtures. He introduced me to the manager and I resumed the following day. My job involved filling empty plastics with hot alcoholic mixtures, corcking, washing, labelling, packaging and arranging them in the store. The job had no fixed salary but the pay was according to how much an employee could work. Top employees who work there full-time usually made more than fifty thousand naira (#50,000) monthly. As for me, I didn’t have the strength, so I usually made about twenty to thirty thousand (#20,000 - 30,000) monthly during the break.
Now, this job was also very stressful but quite manageable when compared to the other one. Workers also enjoyed more freedom and autonomy here and the environment was always lively. The major problem here was that I often got intoxicated (99% of the time) during work due to the high ethanol (alcohol) content of the mixtures. It is funny to remember that I never tasted any of the mixtures even though I worked in the company for more than six months altogether. The second problem was that I often get hungry at work because of the alcohol content that I inhaled. As a result, a fair amount of my money was spent on food at work.
I did this job during all the long holidays, usually end-of-session breaks, while in school. This way, I was able to raise some of the money needed in the school for the new session. I also combined it with the little I can receive from my aunt before leaving for school.
Also worthy of note is the support from the friends I made in school. One of them specifically paid for my school fees in my penultimate and final years of university. May God bless you Kola. I also have another one that would cook and invite me to come and eat whenever I complained of hunger around him. Many thanks, Samuel. My third friend specifically introduced me to his family and that became my second house after school. Oluwaseun and his family are some of the kindest souls I have ever met. Lastly, remember the church member that brought food when I was admitted in the hospital? Yes, she always sent me a token every new session till I graduated.
In spite of all these, I maintained good grades in school and I was on first class from 100 level to 300 level. However, I didn't maintain it till graduation as I ended up with a second-class upper division, barely missing first class by 0.2. Sad Awesome! Your gratitude here is very profound. |

I just got to know that The Gateway International Agro Cargo Airport is located in Iperu near Ikenne. Both towns are in Ikenne LGA of Ogun State. Iperu-Remo is also where the U.S.-educated engineer, Adetokunbo Ogundeyin's ProForce Defence Industries Ltd, (the manufacturer of Nigeria's first Armored Personnel Carriers and MRAPs) is located. Deputy1111: The construction and development of critical infrastructure that will transform the economy and create more job opportunities for citizens is one way to build a modern and prosperous future for all Nigerians, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.
Prof. Osinbajo stated this today in his remarks at the maiden test flight into the recently constructed Gateway Agro Cargo International Airport in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
"This is how we build a modern, prosperous future for all Nigerians. I have no doubt that the culture of innovation and progress that the Gateway Agro Cargo International Airport has already brought will continue to motivate the people of Ogun State even more,” the VP said at the momentous occasion.
According to the Vice President, the State “is now poised to provide facilities for a world-class economic zone,” because beyond being a fulfilment of a vision, the airport project “is one of the infrastructures for building a dynamic economic area.”
He emphasized the significance of the Agro Cargo Airport and Kajola Dry Port projects in the operationalization of the Special Agriculture Processing Zones, and Nigeria’s participation in the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
Said the VP “the future is even more exciting than today. The airport will serve the Special Agriculture Processing Zones established with the generous assistance of the African Development Bank. It is also an essential tool in our preparation for full participation as serious players in the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement.
“In a few months, Kajola dry port will also be operational. I am confident that this airport will transform the entire Southwest region, and serve as a catalyst for economic growth and development in our nation and sub-region.”
Commending the State Government and past administrations for the actualization of the project, the VP said “it is a tribute to the wisdom and understanding of our current governor, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun that he took it from the idea, re-envisioned it in the light of the opportunities, needs and realities of today; and birthed the Gateway Agro Cargo International Airport, Ogun State.”
Similarly, the VP commended the former Governor of the State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, whom he said conceived the idea of the airport and eventually secured approval from the Federal Government.
He added that “Ogun is definitely taking a huge step forward in fulfilling the dreams of our forebears; dreams of a vibrant, modern and industrious community living together in peace and prosperity.”
According to him, “this project is the fulfilment of a vision but the airport is only the infrastructure for building a dynamic economic area. We are now poised to provide facilities for a world-class economic zone.”
Earlier, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State paid glowing tributes to the VP and his predecessors including Chief Segun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel for their support in the construction of the airport, noting that the airport was among the best in the country.
According to him, “this airport is a category 4E airport. It is one of the best-constructed airports in Nigeria. It can accommodate an Airbus A380, a Boeing 777 and a Boeing 747. It has a 4-kilometre runway, a 36-metre control tower, a fire station, a cargo apron and terminal buildings. It has 82, 000 square- metres of cargo apron for types E and C aircrafts when completed.”
On his part, Minister of Aviation, Mr Hadi Sirika while commending the visioners of the airport said it is "a product of people that sat down to think what can add value to the economy, to the social well-being of the people, and it has happened.”
He added that the construction of the airport was part of the achievements of the Buhari administration in the aviation sector, noting that “during the Buhari government, aviation became the fastest growing sector of the economy before COVID-19. This is according to the National Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Finance. We have doubled the number of airports and have doubled the number of airlines.”
Other dignitaries at the event included the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo; Wife of Ogun State Govenror, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun; Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, former Governors of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, traditional rulers and top State government officials.

dantitiki: NEW Tests for Amezcua Bio Disc and Amezcua Chi Pendant NEW Tests for Amezcua Bio Disc and Amezcua Chi Pendant
Most us know first hand about the amazing benefits and incredible energy enhancement that comes from the Amezcua Bio Disc and Amezcua Chi Pendant. We've used the products, you've used the products, and we all felt the difference. Most of us have also read about all the certifications and evaluations on the Amezcua Bio Disc and Amezcua Chi Pendant, which verify what we already know, these products make us feel great!
Recently, both the Amezcua Bio Disc and Amezcua Chi Pendant underwent another round of testing and evaluations. The independent tests were conducted by Dr med Michael Kucera. Dr Kucera is an internationally active medical doctor from the Czech Republic who is responsible for introducing the potential of Mitochondrial Medicine as a basic therapeutic tool. Dr Kucera monitors the efficacy of the therapy by heart frequency variability measurement. He was awarded the International Mitochondrial Medicine Association (IMMA) Prize in 2000.
Tests showed that when wearing the Amezcua Chi Pendant or drinking water treated with the Amezcua Bio Disc, users experienced reduced sympathetic activity of the nervous system, thereby reducing tension, increasing reserves of stress adaptation capabilities, increasing parasympathetic activity, and increasing energetic reserves. The test also showed a harmonising effect in cooperative relation between sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the autonomic nervous system; this improves regulatory and adaptation mechanisms. Dr Kucera also showed that after one week of not using the Amezcua Bio Disc or the Amezcua Chi Pendant, the benefits to the users’ cardiovascular function, regulatory systems and stress levels fell back to near default values.
Individuals involved in the tests manifested reduced symptoms, including better sleep, reduced tension, improved psycho-emotional disorders, and increased energy activities. |

palma: Here are testimonies given by people who now use the biodisc.
Testimony 1 My grandmother is 93 years old. At this age, one can expect her to be weak and mobility is greatly reduced. On top of that, she is very detached from what was happening around her. Unable to respond to people's greeting much. It's a normal progress of aging. Then we started drinking water treated with Bio Disc. Only after a month, my grandmother has regained strength to walk on her on and is very alert. She is even greeting all our guest coming to the house and can have a good conversation with them! I am just amazed, but Bio Disc really works!
Miss Nattrah Mohammad
Testimony 2 My mother in-law is 76 years old. She is not ill but she is very weak. As such, she needs assistance to stand up as it is difficult for her to do so. Hence, she spends most of the days resting on the bed. As the family sometimes can't look after her, we have to wear a diaper for her.
I decided to try placing 4 bottles of Bio Disc vivified water at the four corners of her room. Also vivified all her drinking water. After only about 5 days, she regained her agility. She was able to stand up and walk on her own. Besides that, she is more alert as she now reads the newspaper and watches television.
Bio Disc is truly amazing as it has given her a life back and ease the burden of the family taking care of her,
Mr. Zainal Abidin Ismail |

Some significant highlights of V-convention 2022 were a mega product exhibition of the company's health, wellness, and lifestyle brands. It also included a series of training programmes, new launches of products, various entertainment segments, and an international sports star as a guest speaker.
Among the various product launches QNET had, 2 of the products stood out to me. The first was HomePure Viva, a customisable water filtration system that can produce hydrogen-rich alkaline water; and
The second was EDG3 plus, a sugar-free powdered supplement blended with turmeric, Vitamin D3, and glutathione to strengthen the immune system, lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and increase the body's natural defense against diseases. QNET sponsored three Nigerian journalists on an all-expense paid trip to its convention last year. |

Haleemahummar: Manchester City, the defending premier league champions, is known as one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, which is excellent. However, it is essential to note that it is all about quality business and financial help from partners.
There is a great list of sponsors that support Manchester City with additional funding and promotion. Their global partners include; Etihad Airways, Puma, OKX, e& (formerly Etisalat), Nexen Tire, Nissan, Experience Abu Dhabi, Midea, EA Sports, Unilever, and QNET, amongst others. Their Regional partners include; Cadbury, Nestle, Leo Vegas, 8Xbet, Sportium etc. They also have local partners and official suppliers like Ballers, Majestic Wine, ESP Fitness, Sportsworld and Champneys.
With great financing from these various sources, “the Citizens” have enough costs to buy the most promising athletes from around the world. Some of the notable transfers include the ones of Jack Grealish (€100m), Kevin De Bruyne (€68m), Ruben Dias (€61m), and Erling Haaland (€51.2m). All these practices have helped Manchester City become England champions twice a row. So, next time you celebrate the victories of Man City, pay tribute to the influential brands and companies that help make their dreams of great success a reality. |

Joannebassey: Unfortunately, social media allows people to say anything without repercussion since everyone is protected by being anonymous. However, we still need to get our facts straight before accusing an entity of something they have no business with. It's easy to point fingers, but for all you know, they could very well be victims of these scammers and are bleeding from the activities of these criminals. It would be wise to refrain from allowing these scammers to give us the job of discrediting a company through the comments we make, thereby contributing to the downfall of a very legitimate company. Clicking on the https://www.qbuzz.qnet.net/rumours-controversies-and-is-it-a-scam-question/ link will further dispel any doubts you have about the company. |
Crime › Re: Qnet Scam: The Scourge Destroying Nigerian Youths by XAUBulls: 2:42am On Feb 27, 2023 |
Joannebassey: I have encountered QNET before and I am not ashamed to say so. QNET is one of Asia's leading e-commerce-based direct-selling companies offering a wide range of health, wellness, and lifestyle products that enable people to lead better lives. QNET's grass-roots business model, fuelled by the power of e-commerce, has helped empower millions of entrepreneurs in more than 100 countries worldwide. The direct selling business model is where Independent Representatives or distributors sell a company’s products or services directly to consumers and not at retail stores. They might do this online or by having parties in their homes to discuss the benefits of the products with family and friends, there is no fixed retail location. The MLM model on the other hand is where independent contractors sell a company’s products or services directly to consumers, too. However, the key difference is that, with MLMs, independent contractors also make money from recruiting others to work for the company. This is what QNET is NOT. At QNET, these distributors are known as Independent Representatives (IRs) and are not employees of the company, instead, they are individual business-minded people who buy products from QNET online and refer people to buy the same products or more from the QNET e-commerce platform. Once the referred people buy the products and become customers, QNET pays the IR who referred them a commission for it. Additionally, these customers can choose to become IRs of QNET or not. Even if you did not understand my post, please go home with this, that; Direct sales companies generate revenue by their salespeople selling products. Multi-level marketing (MLM) companies generate revenue primarily by getting people to sign up for the business. Not every direct sale company is an MLM, and QNET certainly isn't one. |
Crime › Re: Qnet Scam: The Scourge Destroying Nigerian Youths by XAUBulls: 2:35am On Feb 27, 2023 |
McCprian: Well I've been a victim and I've seen how convincing this people can be. People bring their friends, families, loved ones, spouse etc. So it's no surprise if you see a trusted person calling you to join. The teaching there is to first bring those that trust you and care for you, so he/she has been brainwashed/convinced into thinking they're doing the right thing and are only bringing people to help them. They're good trainers, teachers and psychologists at what they do.
Often times I saw it (the qnet business) as a religion. One thing about religion is that it's capable of making you do something bad against your own good conscience or humanity.
People there were deceived into thinking they were coming for a ethical job offer. 2-3 days later b4 you realize what you're into. Most of these 'innocent' people borrowed the money from money lenders, micro finance banks, friends, relatives etc.. Some sold their properties to be able to afford the money. Realizing what they've entered, they can't go back empty handed. What do they tell their creditors, their families, banks, relatives. In the end some of them are left with no choice but to deceive others into the 'business'. The remaining others doing the business are doing it because they're convinced [usually by mentors and uplines who have gathered so many downlines over time and now have something substantial (made wealth) to show for it] it's 'legitimate' and a 'life time opportunity' and so the 'game' goes on.
1 scams 2, 2 scams 4, 4 scams 8, 8 scams 16, 16 scams 32... Directly or indirectly you've built a system of scammers under your system, because it's through their deceits you can continue earning from the scheme.
Now to qnet or qi group, it's a direct selling company (realistically a MLM company) that deals in healthcare products and luxury.
Truth be told their products are grossly overpriced and over valued. I've used two of their products during my time with them (bio disc 3 and chipendant 4). I'm yet to on my own verify any of the health claims the others occasionally report after using them. I've seen no health benefits from using them despite the fact they say it does this and that.
To register with them (that is to become an independent reseller on their platform) you have to buy a product from them. That's where the person that introduces you to the 'business' or 'job offer' comes into place.
Everyone, especially the youths should be careful out there and should carefully research any job offer before jumping into it no matter how close the person introducing you to the job offer is. I was deceived because of the close relationship I had with the person that brought me into it. I failed to do proper research. I didn't even ask for the name of the company. That's how close I am to the person. Take care |

Joannebassey: I am priviledged to be one of the QNET FinGreen ambassadors this year! I have learnt so much about financial literacy and cannot hold back my joy. To be a part of the QNET FinGreen project, you need to attend one of the community seminars. Let me explain how that works. For the first stage of the project, participants signed up through a call for participation on social media. So individuals such as youth leaders, students leaders, leaders of religious groups, NYSC members, youth trainers and even teachers can benefit from the training and also train other people. Applications are recieved and screened based on experience in training, gender balance, reason for participation, ability to recruit and train atleast twenty other youths. For the pilot phase of the QNET FinGreen project, there were 20 participants. Attendance and training is absolutely free and all participants were given a free training kit and certificate. Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Are QNET And Qnet Infinity Millennials The Same? by XAUBulls: 2:08am On Feb 27, 2023 |
Joannebassey: Has anyone noticed that the alleged officials are said to belong to the Qnet Infinity Millennial of Nigeria? As far as I know, QNET is simply identified as QNET; and if there has been a change in name or addition of a name, I’m sure they’ll make it known as they’ve done in previous times when there have been name changes.
I’m not one to believe just anything, so I’ve done my research. Apparently, these groups of people who refer to themselves as Infinity Millenials of Nigeria are not company employees; instead, they are registered distributors who conduct sales of QNET products under the company’s policy. However, these are now offering employment opportunities on behalf of the company and requesting vast amounts of money in exchange for jobs or a quick way to JAPA.
In this age of technology, it is effortless to confirm things, no one accepts an interview or job offer without conducting due research, so in my opinion, it is pretty easy to know that these infinity millennial people are not QNET itself. The earlier we can distinguish legit QNET officials from fraudsters, the better it'll be for everyone, and falling victim to such schemes can be avoided. |
Business › Re: Nigerian Youth Like Money, But Do We Go About It The Wise Way? by XAUBulls: 2:00am On Feb 27, 2023 |
Haleemahummar: LOL, when I heard about it, I thought it was one of those scamming activities people do in the name of QNET where they say come and be trained for a job, you go, and they tell you to pay. This was a free event.
So, as usual, I went to their website http://www.qnet.net and found https://www.qnet.net/fingreen/.
I realised they used the same principle as their direct selling model to try and reach out to more youth in Nigeria. This time it's not on product sales but on educating people on financial literacy. Peer-to-peer training is an innovative way of ensuring that age gaps break the knowledge barriers between them. It is also a surefire way to have a ripple effect on the passage of knowledge. |
Business › Re: Nigerian Youth Like Money, But Do We Go About It The Wise Way? by XAUBulls: 1:58am On Feb 27, 2023 |
Joannebassey: I recently heard that QNET has embarked on a financial literacy programme for young people in Nigeria called FINGREEN (I saw it on social media). However, I did not get the opportunity to participate because I was told the slot was for just 20 people. My understanding of the initiative, as explained by a friend who attended, was that they aimed to train about 6,000 young people in Nigeria on Financial Literacy. Since this was a pilot, they trained 20 participants who were mandated to carry out individual peer-to-peer training in their communities. So far, about 600 young people in Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Oyo states have benefited from this.
Imagine this goes viral, and they can achieve their aim, which means our youth and some of us here will get literate on making and keeping money and not falling victim to scams and fraud in Nigeria. Imagine all 6,000 people know how to save, work with a budget, use credit cards wisely etc. Omo, our lives will be much better and more well-organized. |
Business › Re: Can Anyone Help Me With Where To Find The Legal QNET Office In Nigeria? by XAUBulls: 1:53am On Feb 27, 2023 |
Haleemahummar: After hearing so much about QNET, I wondered where I could locate their offices for my personal inquiries, and that was when I found out that they are an e-commerce direct selling company that is not only based in its headquarters in Hong Kong but is a global company that has offices in over 25 countries like Singapore and Germany. They have offered health, wellness, lifestyle, and education products for over 20 years.
To answer your question, since QNET uses e-commerce, its sales activity is done electronically. Therefore, buying QNET products is done online or over the Internet. However, in Nigeria, they have a logistics partner called Transblue, with an office in Abuja. I also read in the news that they just launched a disinformation centre. The last I inquired, I was well informed they would soon launch a call centre where people can reach out for quick information about QNET and Transblue.
I know this much because I have been following the conversation here on Nairaland regarding QNET for some time now. It saddens me when I read so many heartbreaking stories about people being duped by fraudsters in the name of QNET.
That got me asking questions, and that's when I found out anyone who claims to have a QNET office in Nigeria is a fraudster. The existing set-ups are created primarily by independent representatives whose activities are monitored to ensure they are doing the right things. You can find out more by emailing this address network.integrity@qnet.net and report any persons who might have such claims. |
