You persistently troll and make criminally defamatory comments and outright insults on this website using your notorious monikers which are well known. Boy, you will regret the day you were born when you get arrested by the Intelligence agencies and get charged to court for defamation.

When all of you were still members of PDP as rabid supporters before you crossed over like lemmings with your god Peter Obi, YOU ethnic bigots saw nothing wrong in James Ibori. You all hailed him and said he was innocent until a UK court nailed him and found him guilty of money laundering crimes! He went to prison for some years in the UK until he was finally released.

The man who is the President right now is the President of all and has the right to interact with any Nigerian including James Ibori who has served his time in prison. Period.

Last but not least, when Asari Dokubo was relating with that guy called Nnamdi, you all were hailing him online and offline. Asari even smuggled this creep out of Nigeria through Lagos and from there the fugitive scampered like a coward to UK where he continued making inflammatory comments on internet radio.

As soon as Asari Dokubo fell out and EXPOSED Nnamdi Kanu as a creep and a fraud (just like Ralph Uwazurike called Nnamdi Kanu a fraud), you and your fellow Ibo ethnic bigots started attacking Asari. You boys are very dishonest to now turn around and accuse President Tinubu of relating with Asari Dokubo who he knew in the 1990s during the violent days of the pro-democracy era and battle against Military dictatorship in Nigeria. These men and more fought the Military for the democracy that is being enjoyed in that country. You obviously don't know these because you were NOT born then OR you were just a breast sucking baby then.

Deflecting much?
You said the US? Were the Chibok girls kidnapped in the US or were they kidnapped, which is a violent act, in Nigeria? Show me something from the US that compares to 276 girls being kidnapped at the same time in one day and where half the country wasn’t concerned.
The link you posted is not about shooting, it’s about any type of violence at the hands of a family member or partner and it actually supports what I’m saying here. Yes, the US is bad but other countries with other cultures and religions are much worse.
If Nigeria had a reliable and trustworthy rate of collecting data and generating statistics, I’m sure it would be much higher than 1 in every 3. Read some of the threads and see how many men feel it’s normal to beat their daughters into a stupor and how they justify beating their wives. Brothers are allowed to ‘correct’ sisters if their father is late, uncles can ‘correct’ nieces, and so on. The lady who was killed in the club for picking money this last weekend, see men in her thread saying she deserved death. Aren’t you aware that molestation and incest is also violence and how many women here in the Us who were raised in Nigeria I meet that tell me they were molested by family members?
You’re implying that less than 1 in every 3 Nigerian women have never experienced violence at the hands of a male family member or partner—violence includes beatings that is inflicted upon children and considered normal.
The whole world has a problem when it comes to violence against girls and women, not just US or Nigeria, the whole world. Ask yourself why that Chibok girl is in America to begin with. Afghanistan, Iran, and over 40 other countries have laws where a man can kill a woman in the name of religion and not go to jail.
And Sir, did you forget about Deborah?
Stop deflecting.
You made logical and very valid points here tbh.

I'm aware though that Muslims don't allow their women to shake hands with men and also don't allow dancing in Islamic music. The young man called David Adedeji Adeleke (Who was born a Seventh Day Adventis, BUT those late Senator grandfather was a Muslim) should call a press conference and apologize to the Muslim ummah because if NOT handled, a religious fatwa could be declared on him and his music label singer just like what was done to the British-Indian writer, Salman Rushdie by the Iranian Shiite leader in the late 1980s. He should just tell them he was ignorant of that aspect of Islam not allowing prayer mats and dancing while supposedly doing prayers to be treated with levity. Period.

Therefore it is very important for people to be aware of cultural and religious etiquette of other people around the world.

However, certain groups of fundamentalist Muslims don't respect the rights of others around the world to practice their faiths and beliefs and that is really asinine of them. The Ilorin episode comes to mind where Ifa adherents of the internationally well-known Yoruba religion are being harassed for practicing their belief.

That cannot be tolerated in a country that grants freedom of worship to all under the constitution of the Federal Republic.

tshtsh:
The word japa is vague. Or do people just leave Nigeria for the sake of it ? With $3,000 a month you can live comfortably in Nigeria but please don’t assume that money will keep coming as anything can happen. At the same time please don’t take your hard earned money and give any school for the mere sake of japa. I have nothing against schooling abroad because I also once attended an ancient British university to study computing but it was solely based on academic reasons at a highly rated university.

Fast forward to a few years later people now use study as a pathway to japa spending millions and attending lowly rates schools paying the amount of fees that even Anglo Saxons cannot afford. People have always moved abroad via study but not at this rate. Not everyone is doing great abroad and depending on how you go abroad the system can take much more than you’ll get out of it. There is a cost of living crises in many advanced economies right now and I also had my own share of challenges when I left Nigeria.

I applied to live in Canada via express entry while working as a software engineer shortly after covid. I was 30 and had a good income. It took about a year to get the PR approved but I later developed a cold feet towards moving abroad because it didn’t make sense to me to leave my job and take dollars to Canada. I opted to look for a remote/hybrid job in Canada and accepted one before moving. I landed a few days before the job start day and stayed at a friend’s house for two weeks , earned my first salary before moving to a temporary accommodation.
Renting a house was difficult because no landlord trusted me ( Color , lack of credit history, lack of job history in Canada and other factors ). I saw the good side and the bad side. Canadians were complaining about cost of living and house prices. Housing was a debate everywhere. I began to wonder why Nigerians sold their properties to come and start life in Canada. Most Canadians today cannot qualify for a mortgage hence if you own a house you should be a proud home owner and not dispose it easily to finance flight tickets , school fees and a few months of rental.
If you want to japa try and get a job that will finance your work permit and some of your initial costs. Alternatively apply for one of these tech immigration programs that won’t cost you too much.

For those that went to U.K. as students the will pay international student fees, annual health surcharge and will continue to wary about visa extension/ visa switching / immigration issues till they become ILR holders which will take anything from 7 to 10 years of uncertainty. As with anything in life there are pros and cons . Career opportunities in software engineering are more in U.K./Canada compared to Nigeria there are many other things we want and desire as individuals
Well said.

Do we blame this on PTSD?

While there are spoils of war, there are also things war spoils.

As long as western interests is vested in the resources rich central African country, war and instability in Congo translates to gain and profit for western interests.

Sierra Leone and Liberia had their own share of the blood diamonds.

Congo is experiencing here own share of blood coltan, blood columbite, fact is every resource in Congo quickly turns bloody because that's the only way access to resources without having to pay much Orr abide to rules.

Same thing happening to the blood gold in zamfara where vested interests engineer insecurity and you know the rest.

obedience4:
Twitter has changed its brand and logo from its famous blue bird to "X"
.
The new white X on a black background has replaced the blue bird on the desktop version of the social network, although is yet to appear on the mobile app."Tweets" will also be replaced, according to Twitter's owner Elon Musk, and posts will be called "x's".
The billionaire changed his profile picture to the new logo and added "X.com" to his Twitter bio.
Mr Musk wants to create a "super app" called X - his vision for a new kind of social media platform that he has been talking about creating for months.
On Sunday, the billionaire said he was looking to change Twitter's logo, tweeting: "And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds."
Mr Musk, who has changed the name of the business to X Corp, said the replacement "should have been done a long time ago".
He posted an image of a flickering X on Twitter, and later in a Twitter Spaces audio chat, replied "Yes" when asked if the Twitter logo would change.
Ms Yaccarino wrote on the platform that the rebrand was an exciting new opportunity.
"Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate," she said.
"Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square."
The bird is called Larry which Twitter's co-founder Biz Stone said, in 2011, is a tribute to basketball star and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.
People took to Twitter to mourn the loss of the logo, including Martin Grasser who designed it in 2012.
"Today we say goodbye to this great blue bird," he said. Later the tweet was shared by Jack Dorsey, Twitter's best-known co-founder.
The everything app
For some people in Asia, super-apps including India's PayTM and Indonesia's GoJek have been a vital part of everyday lives for the past few years.
The apps let users pay for services through a finance system.
WeChat is a messaging and social media platform that has evolved into one of the region's biggest apps in terms of its range of services and number of users.
Last year, it was estimated to have 1.29 billion users in China alone.
Drew Benvie, social media commentator and founder of digital agency, Battenhall said, "Musk is going full throttle for the everything app space, leaving old Twitter in his wake, and eyeing the successes of Asia's trailblazers like WeChat and Moj.
"Succeeding in just a couple of additional services, such as shopping or payments, could be all that's needed to make X better than Twitter was. But there are already so many alternatives, so Musk and co are playing an enormous game of catch-up."
Twitter's website says its logo, depicting a blue bird, is "our most recognisable asset".
"That's why we're so protective of it," it added.
The firm temporarily replaced the logo in April with Dogecoin's Shiba Inu dog, helping drive a surge in the meme coin's market value.
Mr Musk was later accused of insider trading by a group of Dogecoin investors, who claimed he had profited from driving up Dogecoin's value.

Rapid rebrand
Business commentator Justin Urquhart Stewart said Twitter's "loyal but aging base" would not like the changes.
"The younger generations have moved onto other apps and Twitter does look at bit old-fashioned."
"Elon Musk has got to be careful as you are almost starting from scratch with an older audience meanwhile damaging the original brand," he said.
The very rapid rebranding of Twitter has also caused some security concerns.
Jake Moore, global cyber adviser at security firm ESET, said the transition from one company name to another could encourage phishing, where criminals impersonate people or organisations to steal users' data.
"A rebrand is the perfect opportunity to send phishing emails requesting users to sign in via a new URL from a link within that email - but of course that link wouldn't be genuine and that's where people could be tricked into handing over their genuine Twitter credentials without their usual level of caution," he told the BBC.
"Cyber-criminals can easily prey on this, especially those searching for that new URL."

X obsession
Mr Musk has long had a fascination with the letter X - although no-one really knows why.
One of his first business ventures in 1999 was known as X.com, which was an online banking platform.
Just three years later, Mr Musk made $165m when X.com - by then merged with PayPal - was bought by eBay.
He also owns the X.com domain name, which now redirects to Twitter.
Mr Musk is also chief executive of SpaceX, the commercial American aerospace company founded in 2002.
There is also the name of his first child with musician Grimes - X Æ A-12 Musk.
Mr Musk also recently launched his long-awaited artificial intelligence start-up - xAI - in a bid to build an alternative to ChatGPT....

A very bland rebranding.

All these are physical attributes which mean nothing. What of the spiritual aspect? Are you compatible spiritually? Would you guys last as couple and be fruitful in all areas? Most of those using physical and material attributes as yardstick for future partners end up regretting.

Last weekend, I was seeing a client on the island. They're very wealthy. If I mention the name here, this thread go full with attacks but it's not necessary. They have a son who's like 2 feet tall. He's in his 30s. He can't feed on his own. They always shut the door at him each time they're going for events. He's rarely known by the public.

Each time they see this guy, they always feel sad. Before you enter their house, you must go through all manner of security screening as if you're entering an embassy for a visa appointment. The wife is an epitome of beauty. She also schooled abroad as the husband. He's their only son. Marerial things and careers don't guarantee ultimate happiness in marriage.

See God's face before you marry. Also, don't marry because of material wealth or career achievements. Look at those successful people today. They had a history of humble beginnings. I never knew Dangote and Pastor Adeboye were never born of rich parents until I heard their history from Mama ijesha, a nonagenarian who lives at ijeshatedo area of lagos. Dangote came from Kano to lagos as a boy and was squatted by Mallam Maitama who happened to be mama ijesha's first tenant. She showed me their apartment on the ground floor the day I visited her. I bought my land from her son, who asked me to see him on his arrival from the UK. The woman said pastor adeboye once worked part time at her uncle's place, a popular cocoa merchant back in the days. One day, the man had to tell pastor adeboye to stop coming to work there so he could concentrate on his studies and gave him scholarship...many won't hear a story like this but the sweet sides when Dangote's uncle gave him money to start business and all. This generation is too materialistic.
