In any event, if a DNA test indicates the child is NOT his, then the child is NOT his. Consequently, if the child is his, then Mrs. Ayeni MUST embrace the situation. Period.
sukkot: hey have a great weekend too Chief. Now let me tell you, the agent was not used by me to increase the speed of the process, if you want to increase the speed you have to pay express fees. The purpose of the agent was to help me get a guarantor and to help me with all the needed documents. Now it may not be a tedious process for someone who has genuine documents and records of being born in Nigeria and have guarantors with records in Nigeria in which case you can do the process easily yourself without an agent and you pay express fees if you want it quicker.
The reason I had to use the agent is cuz I had zero documentation of being a Nigerian. Like I could be a guy from Togo trying to collect a naija pali lol. Oh yeah the place is nice now. Good crowd control, strong air conditioning, effective staff . Good to hear our passport is gaining ground 😄
Thanks for the quick feedback Sukkot. Oh... I get it now, the agent was for the guarantors only.
The last paragraph of your's cracked me up here... LMAO. Zero documentation for a well-travelled British-born Ikorodu man like you?... "Seems like you dropped all the way from Alpha Centauri..."
A Togolese would dare not attempt to go there though. I read that they have a watertight digital trail and a list of documents that have to be provided to the NIS, and these would smoke any alien out who wants to illegally get a green Nigerian passport.
edoman2016: I never knew being AS genotype can be a hindrance when it is time for me to get married. I am 35 years. All the ladies that I love and have good emotional connections with them are all AS genotype too. So it means having a relationship that can.lead to marriage has no prospect.
Are the AA ladies getting scarce or what? I just don't understand. I am beginning to get worried of my AS genotype as it is affecting my plans of settling down.
It's good that as a dude, you didn't just get married to ANY AA woman that you do NOT resonate with because of societal expectations to get married within a certain age range.
You can now get married to a fellow AS but it will cost you a lot of money running into over N1million.
Zigzagman: At least it's better that you're a guy. Imagine you're a woman who keeps losing relationships because of AS. As a guy you can still ask girls out.
Ladies can't do that. They'll keep regretting the men who got away due to money, health, culture and blood compatibility issues.
sukkot: hehe bro it was a lot of back and forth but I got it done but I have to be very honest with you , that ikoyi passport office ? They are very efficient and professional. Of course the Nigerian factor is still present but they were extremely professional for the most part. If there was any bottleneck in the process it was due to me bringing the wrong document. Also the air conditioning in their offices was very strong and the officers carried themselves with a level of respect. I have to be truthful in my observations.
That's good to know that they have really upgraded their acts Sukkot. The Ikoyi Passport office used to be a notorious place (for overcrowding and the microwave-like hot air)...
How long in weeks did it take you to get the passport at Ikoyi from the time you used your connect or professional help? Can you kindly PM or email me your professional contact at Ikoyi who speeded the process for you as this will become handy down the road.
Last but not least, I just read here in the travel section that the hugely popular Henley Passport ranking just indicated that the Nigerian passport rose by 9 spots on the global ranking of the world's strongest passports. So, besides having a golden passport or some other travel passport for ease of travel, having a Nigerian passport readily handy will not be a bad idea.
The Nigerian passport has risen nine places in the latest global passport ranking.
In the recently released Henley Passport Index for Q2 2023, the Nigerian passport rose from its previous 100th position to 91st among the 199 countries and 227 travel destinations studied.
The Henley Passport Index assesses the strength of world passports based on the number of destinations its holders can access without a prior visa.
The latest ranking indicates improved global access for Nigerians. However, the number of countries accessible without visas or with visa-on-arrival remained at 46. Findings by our correspondent indicated that the new standing might not reflect real improvement in passport strength but a consequence of other countries losing their earlier rating.
As of June 2022, travellers with Nigerian passports can only traverse 25 countries visa-free. However, that number rises to 45 destinations when visa-on-arrival or e-visa programmes are added.
One of South Africa's Airlink aircraft collided with Africa’s heaviest flying bird - the Kori bustard - snapping off a propeller blade and sending it hurtling into the cabin.
The incident happened on Monday.
The crew and passengers on this charter flight from Johannesburg to Limpopo province had a lucky escape.
The airline said in a statement that an Airlink Jetstream 41 aircraft operating a private charter flight struck a large bird upon landing at Venetia airfield.
The large bird, believed to be a kori bustard, flew into the right-hand propeller. The Kori Bustard is Africa’s heaviest flying bird. A large male can weigh as much as 19kg and have a wingspan of 275cm.
“None of the passengers or crew were injured, although the aircraft sustained substantial damage.
“In compliance with aviation protocols and regulations, the occurrence was reported to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), which will conduct an investigation,” it said.
Airlink furthermore said the damaged aircraft remains at Venetia airfield pending the SACAA’s inspection and a full damage assessment.
Photos from inside the aircraft show splinters of wood strewn across the floor.
The blade luckily landed in an area of the cabin which was unoccupied.
Bits of the propeller embedded in a seat and fragments scattered on the aircraft floor can be seen in the photos. The blade gouged a hole in the fuselage and broke a cabin window.
Bird strikes have been an all-too-common occurrence since the dawn of aviation.
Lewisjohnson: A Nigerian man identified as Emma Ezeuko, has been killed by suspected gunmen in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
It was gathered that Ezeuko was shot dead on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, five days after his birthday.
The deceased hailed from Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report, however, it was gathered that four passengers travelling in a taxi were shot dead by gunmen the same day at Port Shepstone in Durban. It is alleged that the unknown gunmen approached the taxi and opened fire on the occupants.
Four of the occupants died as a result of the shooting, whilst a further four were transported to hospital with gunshot wounds.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and is subject to a police investigation. Detectives are investigating four counts of murder and four of attempted murder.
It's not clear if the Nigerian national was among the four passengers killed during the shooting. Meanwhile, friends have taken to Facebook to mourn him.
One Stephen Obinna Aneke, wrote: “I can't believe that Emma T Ezeuko is dead, you just celebrated your birthday only 5days ago and now your precious life was cut shot by hoodlums with guns in Durban south Africa. I remember the last time you visited me and was very passionate about life and the good things it brought and hoping for a more better future. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again and may your killers never go unpunished."
Acidosis: Next time you see my post, just jump and pass (keep scrolling). The toxicity in me will continue as far as and as long as evil and wickedness of men exist. My conscience motivates me to posts; I'm not motivated by how I want to be perceived. And as you may have observed, I don't know you. So clearly, your opinion as to how I express myself didn't count then... wouldn't count now. I'm not sorry.
Whether your jagaban was sent to jail or not is not my business, to be honest. I'm just worried about the fact that you know so much about this man and you didn't join his lawyers and spokespersons to deny "the $400k" forfeiture?
Ogbeni, that bolded part is NEVER gonna happen. This is an open discussion forum and we can comment on any toxic posts here and flag any post or troll for banning and for NL rules violations. It is our prerogative to call others to order here.
If you truly have a conscience like you just said, YOU would never say anything defamatory here by calling that man a "drug baron" despite all the evidence I provided here from the U.S. authorities. If the man was a drug baron, the U.S. would have sent him to jail since 1993 and even blocked his Presidential bid because the U.S. has zero-tolerance for drug barons and drug trafficking.
He is not a close fan of mine, BUT I clearly detest when some morally bankrupt people spread a lot of falsehood about others and this is why I called you out. Regardless of whether you or anyone feels offended by what these folks or politicians and the military dictators have done in that country for years now, my take is that it is IMPROPER to peddle lies and say things that they didn't do. Period
sukkot: top of the morning to you my kind Sir XAUBulls. Sure I would look out for it. Bro these Nigerians are crazy. It take them 6 months to issue a passport. Awon werey lol
I hope the professional help you got for the passport was legit? Then again I hear that getting these passports outside Lagos State is usually much faster. A lot of folks want to get theirs from Lagos [Ikoyi, Ikeja, etc], because of the perceived prestige. A passport remains a passport regardless of where it is issued.
Bureaucracy and inneficiencies are indeed impediments to the rapid evolution of Nigeria.
I remember how you had the same issue with the MOT thing in Lagos last year that you talked about on one of your threads. Awon were...
Nigeria has to break away from being a significant underachiever in nearly all fields.
sukkot: ok I see you chief, I think you finally cracked the case. You decoded the mystery. A well apt and nicely presented answer. Kudos to you. Well I guess the mystery is solved then
Hello again @Sukkot.
Take out the time to watch this illuminating video properly that someone posted here on NL just yesterday. You can download it on your computer device for continuous viewing. Asari Dokubo was very accurate here on his historical sources. He could sometimes seem belligerant but he is a very brilliant man based on his eloquence in the video and backed up with accurate historical sources that I have read decades back from the official history books of the white folks who were in Nigeria within the last 200 years!
Coincidentally, this recent video by Asari Dokubo explains what I discussed with you on this same thread page this month about the enslavement of primitive Ibo tribes [aka Eboe tribes according to the whites in the late 1700s to 1800s] from the interior by the Arochukwus [Aro confederacy] and there associates such as the Abams, Ohafia, etc, who sold them to the Ijaws, Ibibios and Efiks who were the middlemen linking with the white slave traders on the coast.
Klass99: Kindly leave me out of your ramblings, nonsense and stupidity. You don't know jack about me, my personal beliefs, values or ideologies.
Yes, I admire and respect President Tinubu because he, his predecessors and successors (Lateef Jakande, Mobolaji Johnson, Raji Fashola etc) made Lagos State an enabling and empowering environment where I could migrate to, from my home state to make and earn a living.
Lagos State has been good and favourable to me. I have thrived and flourished in this state through different work opportunities, training opportunities and the human resources, I've been exposed to. Opportunities and experiences which I cherish and appreciate. If my state governors (past and present) had done what Jagaban and his predecessors did in Lagos, I wouldn't be here and I never would have left my home state in the first place, in search of a productive and meaningful life.
Is there anything wrong with applauding one of the men/ex governors (Jagaban) who has contributed to a meaningful life for me? Some of you who run your dirty mouths waaaa on this forum insulting him day and night, were or are in the same boat as me. You left your home states for Lagos, you have reasonably done well in Lagos, better than you could have ever done in your states, yet you lack basic courtesy and respect for the man and his achievements. Is he your mate?
Why don't you guys move back to your home states or better still move to Peter Obi's Anambra State and see if you can achieve what you have in Lagos or if your lives will be any better in those places. The only person practising witchcraft here is you with this bullshit thread of yours. I gave someone candid advice on what I honestly thought would benefit him more, without ulterior motives on my part, based on what he shared and you create a shallow thread tagging me in it.
FYI, I don't have political affiliations with the APC, PDP or any political party. If I am impressed by the actions/achievements of a person or persons, I will applaud them and not concern myself about what political party they belong to. I am not pro -japa or anti-japa, either, I am a japa with sense kind of person and I don't need to explain myself to you.
Is this really about me supporting Jagaban? Or is this about the fact that I admired and applauded Sukkot for keeping his cool and maintaining a respectful attitude, when you and others were unjustifiably rude/insulting to him, on a thread people were engaging respectfully with playful banter until you arrived with your vile and nasty attitude. Were you pained because of that post about Sukkot? Because I recall you quoted me even when I wasn't talking to you, so now you feel the need to lump me in with people you don't like. Don't choke on your own bile towards others
Please respect yourself and stay in your lane! If you suffer from an inferiority complex where you believe the white man's land and things are better I DON'T. I am also in a very foul mood today, don't make me take it out on you.
Nicely put Klass99.
I like your largely positive thought energy. Some people do not seem to realise that thoughts are things. We all live in a state of vibration and these have effects in our lives... Physically and internally.
Acidosis: "Get your facts right" yhen yhen yhen and you ended up saying NOTHING. My post clearly showed "Lagos" but in your ignorance, you added "state" to tell a story no one asked you..! The essence of that post is pretty obvious. The mass migration to Lagos didn't start today. Lagos has always been a choice destination from way back.
You won't tell an adult what and how to react. As a bloody nobody and stalker that you are, it would be nice to follow me for more painment. I'm obviously not here to entertain you.
This is ridiculous... I stalk nobody! The only time I read your posts is when they get to be posted on front page threads like this.
I have been a veteran member of NL since 2005 and since I first noticed your moniker, I have been reading posts because you seemed objective. However within the last 2 years, I started seeing some toxicity in some of them and called your attention to it.
You may think you are an adult, but adulthood comes with absolute RESPONSIBILITY and you should know NOT to CONSISTENTLY defame a man on an open discussion forum by calling him a drug baron repeatedly even when the U.S. authorities NEVER sent him to jail in 1993... and as far back as 2003, the U.S. Consulate through their Legal Department and lawyer declared that the man [Tinubu] who is the current President that you carelessly insulted here has NO criminal case in the U.S.! Any intelligent person should be able to deduce as of 2023 that this man was never a drug baron. Defamation is a criminal offence online and offline. Period.
sukkot: So I made that mistake right. Not sure why I did but halfway through the process I gave up and got an agent. First of all if you are like me you most likely don’t have any trace of your recorded birth in Nigeria either because you were born when they didn’t issue birth certificates ( before 92 ) or you were born in Ghana lol ( outside the country ). And so this whole process is a Hail Mary prayer on bended knees. These people want way too much from you . You need guarantors who have passports, and oaths of commissioners and letters from local government endorsing your identity etc etc . It’s just a tedious process to try to DIY. I attempted to DIY it but have given up halfway through and have ceded to professional help and trusttttttt me it makes your life a whole lot easier. They will do all that guarantor and oath commissioner nonsense for you but one thing they can’t do for you is the letter from the local government endorsing your citizenship and residency and even attempting that was a weird experience. The outside was full of shady characters who told me it’s hard to get and I would have to pay 25000 for it. It’s just a sheet of paper for 25k. So I start haggling with this dude and he wouldn’t budge but he said I should wait and when this guy comes in he would try to talk to him for me. So we are waiting for his dude and something in me told me to explore. I did and found a guy who directed me to a LASRA website and told me to answer all the questions and it would generate a reference number which I would use to present to the office for the capture and biometrics. Guess how much the processs cost ? 200 Naira. I was haggling with a guy for 25000 Naira for something that cost 200 Naira ? Lol. Yeah the road is treacherous if you are like me with sparse documentation so get professional help. Don’t try to wing it on your own .
I'm certain that you haven't ditched your Jand citizenship yet?
gforce5: Dear young Nigerians aged 35 and below, I cannot stress the importance of acquiring a second passport from a functional society. In this era of globalization and technology, the freedom to travel without any restriction cannot be overestimated. It doesn't mean that you have to abandon Nigeria totally for another country. It's about having options to make life easier for you. Nigerians often brag that all you need is money and everything else falls in line. That's not totally true. Yes, money helps make life easier but it's not enough. The way foreign countries are treating Nigerian passport holders this days, money is immaterial. They don't rate your money at all. Even Dangote himself, the richest black man in the world, complained a few years ago that with all his money, he needs a visa to travel everywhere within his own continent.
Benefits of dual nationality: With a second passport, you have visa-free access to most countries in the world. No more queuing a foreign embassies and thereby subjecting yourself to rubbish. Being a dual national means that you have an option. A plan B if you like, in case you are fed up with the situation in Nigeria. That backup plan is very important with the state of the country. You can also transfer citizenship to your children and grandchildren thereby ensuring that your descendants future is secured. They will be very grateful for what you have done for them. Many parents in the 70s and 80s didn't take advantage of those opportunities and they are now regretting their actions. Having a second passport is also good for business and career advancement as you can travel anywhere for business, conferences and job opportunities without restrictions.
So, young people, if you have the opportunity, try and acquire a second passport either by JAPA or investing a significant amount of money to get one. Don't listen to people telling you to just focus on making and spending money in Nigeria. These people are short-sighted and are unable to see the big picture. There's a reason why a lot of the 1% are now acquiring second passports from countries such as St Kitts. Most politicians have second passports. You think they are fools? Saraki will never relinquish his British passport in the name of patriotism. Do you think that Ben Bruce Mr. "grow the naira" would renounce his US citizenship for Nigeria? Many rich people envy those with dual nationality as they don't have the same limitations as those without one have.
Acidosis: I hope you realise that people have been living in this Lagos since the 70s-80s before Jagaban left his drug business in Chicago?
Lagos was Nigeria's capital city for over 70 years. Just putting it out there for the GenZs.
@Acidosis, Get your facts clear here so that others are NOT misled.
It is Lagos Island, NOT Lagos State that was the administrative capital of Nigeria from 1914 to 1991.
Lagos State ONLY came into existence for the first time on May 27, 1967 when General Yakubu Gowon created the Lagos State and 11 other new states for the indigenes. 95 percent (Ijebuland and Aworiland) of the total land area of today's Lagos State was carved out from what is now Ogun State (the lands were then located in the Old Western Region) in 1967. The bearded young rebel in the Eastern Region and his gang rejected the 12 new states creation and declared secession 3 days later.
Last but NOT least, the second to the last highly defamatory paragraph that you carelessly wrote up there will get you into deep trouble! There is no absolute freedom anywhere in the world to defame and mislead others. I remember I once cautioned you about some of the highly toxic posts you make online. There is NO anonymity online and you can and will be brought to justice in the court of law for criminal defamation of character.
I detest toxic people who act as wet blankets by projecting their negativity and insecurities towards others.
Prince Dapo Abiodun is an oil and gas business mogul and the owner of Heyden Petroleum which is a major member of MOMAN (Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria).
This shift to CNG for use as auto gas would literally drop the cost of transportation of goods and people to even below the pre-subsidy levels.
The auto gas investors had said years back that if petroleum subsidy isn't removed, they would NOT be able to invest in the auto gas value-chain. Now, they are already doing so.
Waiting for the U.S.-educated Engineer, Mr. Adetokunbo Ogundeyin who is the CEO of the internationally certified ProForce Defence Industries, in Ogun State to roll out all his vehicles too using CNG.
