Tinyemeka: HP Pavilion g6It's the performance that's being tested not the high spec. Your current system might be using intel graphics which sucks compared with ATI and NVIDIA. |

Nebulae: What does a computer's rating imply please?Ever heard of the saying 'A chain is as weak as it weakest link'? All features i.e graphic capacity, RAM performance, CPU speed, etc are all tested and the one that scores the lowest is used as the system rating. Hence the rating is like a measure of a system performance and can be used to a choice between two system you might want to purchase. |

Education / Re: JAMB To Release Results 30 Minutes After Exams by xcitedjay(m): 3:12pm On Nov 10, 2012 |
Candidates should be able to see and print result immediately after the exam ends, since it's a computerized exam. I guess the 30minutes is to allow for tweaking of extra special candidate's results and some other things like making sure Victor Dangote is really the son of Dangote. |

Someone on a 3.5G network doesn't neccesarily enjoy a faster browsing speed than another on 3G, just has a chance to experience a higher speed [when available]. Situations like network congestion can slow browsing speed quite significantly. |

ocelot2006: A little correction.GPRS being 2.5G and EGDE being 2.75G, is not really a standard but more like a transition. The reason why GPRS - 2.5G is cause it's kind of like a bridge between the 2G & 3G network. Also since EGDE is faster than GPRS, having speed close to a 3G network, it's marketed as 2.75G. You might wanna google '3.9G'. |
Phones / Differences Between Gprs, Edge, 3g, Hsdpa, Hspa+ And 4g Lte by xcitedjay(m): 5:11am On Nov 08, 2012 |
While conversing with a friend I was asked the differences between GPRS, EDGE and 3G, decided to share my little knowledge about the topic in case you might be confused about it too. Before advancing, it should be known that 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G etc refers to the different generations of wireless communication technology characterized by having a defined range of speed. GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) GPRS is a packet-based* wireless communication service. It is a 2G technology network that support a download speed of up to 114Kbps. Limitation of GPRS is that GPRS data cannot be sent while a voice call is in progress. EDGE(Enhanced Data GSM Evolution) GPRS and EDGE are both 2G technology but EDGE is significantly faster with a download speed of up to 384Kbps. EDGE is sometimes called a 2.5G network as it also has some characteristics of a 3G network but it doesn't satisfy the specification. 3G Introduction of 3G network made video calling and seamless streaming of video possible, with download speed of up to 3.1Mbps. HSDPA(High-Speed Down-link Packet Access) It is based on the 3G network and an enhancement to 3G. Thus has a faster speed, download speed can be up to 14Mbps. HSDPA is sometimes called 3.5G. HSPA+(Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) HSPA+ is an evolution HSPA(HSDPA&HSUPA). It is a 4G technology that allows download at a rate of up to 168Mbps. 4G LTE(Long Term Evolution) LTE is a 4G communication standard that supports HD video streaming, download speed as high as 299.6Mbps. Summary GPRS(114Kbps) < EGDE(368Kbps) < 3G(3.1Mbps) < HSDPA(14Mbps) < HSPA+(168Mbps) < 4G/LTE(299.6Mbps) By the way, I posted this using a GPRS connection. *Packet-based means data is broken into packets before being transmitted. 61 Likes 5 Shares

Science/Technology / Speculated Playstation 4 Spec by xcitedjay(m): 12:00pm On Nov 03, 2012 |
Development kits sent to developers give the impression that Playstation 4 might be armed with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage(preferably SSD). Playstation 4 would likely be shipped with all standard inputs/outputs that came with Playstation 3 including HDMI and Wi-Fi. I know I'm not the only one hoping it'll be affordable.

Romance / Why Men Don't Chase Women by xcitedjay(m): 12:38am On Oct 29, 2012 |
After wasting useful energy on 'the chase', we lose our freedom, as they always wanna know where you're at and who you're hanging out with, they expect you to take full responsibility for them, call ten times a day, tell them you love them every second, protect them with your life, inaddition to all the headaches and heartaches they bring. I mean why would a man be so eager to place himself in a situation like this? I'm sure most men have their own reasons for not wanting to chase women despite having interest. Please feel free to share yours. |
