There are many on this thread on the pay-roll of the govt; they have been tasked with attacking and discrediting Buhari because they are petrified of his anti-corruption reputation and how he would imprison the corrupt should he gain power.

You folks brandishing anti-corruption reputation as Buhari's selling point just make me laugh because that very record portrays his wweaknesses and raises questions which answers will expose Buhari and scuttle his ambition.

First the fight against corruption today is civil and not one being fought under a military dictatorship where a tribunal convicts alleged criminals without fair hearing. In the military era, investigations and prosecution only take a few weeks and the victims may not be allowed access to SANs. That explains how it was public outcry that saved some innocent politicians (some of them actually died) in the second republic. That also explains why Buhari would rush to judgment and conclude that Abacha never stole money because in the military era, you only have to get the government to believe albeit with inconclusive evidence that someone is corrupt and gbam - conviction! Today, only a thorough investigation with a bag-load of incontrovertible evidences can guarantee convictions. Defendants have access to as many SANs as they can afford.

Buhari's anti-corruption credential is not relevant to this age. So if Buhari is now supposed to get used to fighting corruption the civil way, how will he make the police and EFCC more professional in their investigations and evidence collections? Is he going to import angels to do these jobs? Knowing that there is seperation of power, how will he deal with Judges granting all sorts of injunctions allowing defendants to buy time to thwart evidences?

Finally, those promoting Buhari's candidacy are themselves rogues and guilty of corruption. I'm talking of the likes of Tinubu (who now own a substantial part of Lagos), Achike Udenwa, Abubakar Audu, El-Rufai, Tom Ikimi, Femi Fani-Kayode and others too numerous to mention. Will Buhari put these guys in jail?

Fighting corruption today requires a collective effort of all and sundry. One man like Buhari cannot do jack!

Nice anaysis but we don't need Yobo in that team anymore. Enyeama is capable of organizing his defence being senior to most of the defenders and I think he is doing fine on that. With time Omeruoh and Oboabuna will get the necessary experience they require. Yobo's lacklustre performance in our opening game at the AFCON almost cost us qualification from the group stage. The defence only got its bearing when Yobo was confined to the bench.

NFF should organize a valedictory match for him and bid him goodbye.

Well..my take is that it appears there is something fundamentally wrong about Islam and its ideologies. Those who get fanatical cannot just be dismissed as not knowing what they are doing or that they are making wrong interpretations of the Quran. Osama Bin Laden was well schooled, so this is not about ignorance.

The most disturbing thing about Muslims, especially in Nigeria is that they are so passive about condemning acts of terror perpetrated by people who claim allegiance to their faith. I recall when 9/11 happened in the US, some Muslims (and they were quite a number) celebrated in Kano, Nigeria. What manner of callousness is that? Like somebody mentioned, Muslims should stop telling us that "Islam is for Peace", they should simply live it for people to see. Since he is beginning to sound like a saint, the investigation should start from when he was Chief of Staff to Tinubu (2003 - 2007) in which period, his law firm fraudulently connived with Tinubu to perfect titles and convert large expanse of Lagos state government land in Lekki in the names of persons and organizations with whom/in which Tinubu has interest (including Justice Ayo Salami). It should also cover how his campaign was funded in 2007 and 2011 and all the contracts he awarded to his friends fronting for him.

What we need now is not political rehtorics but men who can act their words, especially on perceived national issues. Jonathan's clout may not be able to stand the salt taste of Obj in the water of Nigerian History. lets be careful.

Well...what you don't understand is that people like him in history always end up being disgraced. Most recently, Bukola Saraki demystified "almighty Baba Oloye" - Olusola Saraki (his father) in Kwara State. Until it happened, no one believed it could happen. Did you also notice how Oshiomole put Anenih in his place in Edo? Did you notice how "almighty IBB" who popularly stepped aside was checked by OBJ? The examples are endless.

Can Fashola manage the Federal government and the federal civil service with all the ethnic interests surrounding it? Maybe yes, maybe no but we won't know until he does it. What Fashola is doing in Lagos is not more than what Akpabio is doing in Akwa-Ibom or more than what Amaechi is doing in Rivers. It is nothing exceptional.

Making a decision on how to spend Lagos funds is much easier than doing so at the Federal level. Lagos doesn't have the sort of bureaucracy that impedes development like it is at the FG level. They don't have a legislature that crave attention and go headlong with the Governor on every issue. In fact, they lick the Governor's poo. States are run like a dictatorship. Which legislator is Lagos can question Fashola the way the NASS questions the Presidency on budgetary allocations?
