successking: APC cannot stand the taste of time because of the likes of Buhari.I would say together with the likes of Tinubu. That rogue always pull out when he looses out in any arrangement. Tinubu and Buhari have something in common, they do not forgo their individual interests for someone else's. They either have their way or nothing works in any arrangement they are in. When Tinubu was in the AD, he pulled out to form AC when Afenifere was about to check his excesses. He dumped Atiku and worked for Yar'Adua after AC lost out in 2007. He dumped Ribadu and worked for Jonathan when it was obvious the former was going to lose. Tinubu has a constant goal and once he can't get it, he would strike a deal with Jonathan again. He cares less about national interest and only using progressives to actualize his goal. The problem with those hailing his politics is that they have incurable short memories. Anyone can mark my words, if APC presents Buhari, Tinubu will opt out! I can bet my life on this. |
agbameta: 5 x 150 = 750 x several times everyday. That's thousands of people everyday, that's thousands of cars off the road and eliminating congestion and pollution. How about 1,000 okadas x 2 = 2,000 x several times everyday? Is that also mass transit ![]() Can you see how warped your logic is? Half-educated mofo! |
Mass transit scheme with salon cars that can only transport 5 people? Anyway, this is a white elephant project and already gullible folks have joined APC apologists to celebrate this nonsense! Transit scheme should never be the priority project in our Ogun State when we still have communities without light and water, when we cannot help our farmers practice mechanized farming, when quality education and healthcare are still out of reach of many. God punish all the folks celebrating this waste!!! |
@OP: Where were you all these years? Please remove that fraud called Philip Emeagwali from the list. Fraudsters like him should not be listed among honourable men!!!!! |
inze: AutoCheck Vehicle History ReportThanks so much buddy! I just made a purchase of this car to rock my student life here in Columbus, OH. Bought it at the auction for $2,500 and it looks so neat and well taken care of. You would doubt its been around for 16yrs! Agian, thanks for the check. I appreciate. I |
Please help run a report on this vehicle: JT8BF22G4V5007281. Thank you! |
Clearly, Kayode Ogundaamisi could not have made those things up. Lai Mohammed is just an unrepentant liar!!! |
Prof. Soyinka should shut up already! If he could check facts with Amaechi and not from Amaechi's aide, why didn't he check facts directly with President Jonathan and his wife? When did his romance with anything PDP even start? To the extent he now has unfettered access to "Saint Amaechi". He is a biased judge in this matter, pure and simple!!! |
thegoodjoehunt: He accused the prosecutors of inducing him to lie. If it was not true, the burden of proof lies on their shoulders. They shoupd have done something to prove he wasn't induced. Thrle prosecution mesed up the case and the judges were fair. No, the burden of proof lies on Sergeant Rogers to proof that he was induced. You don't just retract statements like that. |
thegoodjoehunt: No matter how bad you feel, you can't blame the judges for the shady work done by the prosecutors and judges of the Lagos high court. Till today no one has come out from the Abiola family to point out Shofolahan as Late Kudirat's PA. You can't throw a man into the gallows if you are not sure he did the crime. So where was Shofolahan working at that time? Who was he working for? How did he get linked up to the case? Did they just pick him on the street and tagged him "former PA" of the deceased Kudirat Abiola? Guy, the evidences are clear and available. They were just thwarted to allow these guys walk away. Simple!!! On your last question, I will ask you to first go and read the details of Sergeant Rogers first statements that he later claim was induced. Those statements including those made in the cases of attempted murder on Alex Ibru and Pa Abraham Adesanya were too detailed to have been induced by the police who didn't know the internal workings of the security surrounding the late head of state - Gen. Sanni Abacha. Rogers confessed to shooting Abraham Adesanya at close range on the orders of Al-Mustapha. Even TELL Magazine at the time published the entire confession. If Rogers fabricated all that confession, then he is the smartest liar in the whole world!!! How in the world will the Appeal court dismiss those statements when Rogers didn't mention how much he was offered or even named the person that induced him? Rogers admitted that he made those statements, he didn't deny making them. The Appeal Court judgement is lacking in credibility! And I'm asking again, when did bullets used in a murder become the sole evidence on which a murder case can be decided? Where in the world does a court dismiss a murder case just because the prosecution couldn't produce bullets? To answer your question, Rogers stated categorically that Al-Mustapha gave the order. He admitted to pulling the trigger. Many years passed, he walked as a free man, hungry and susceptible to the machinations of the agents of the defendants, came back and said all those long factual statements he made were not so...haba!!!!! I'm not surprised, they took clues from the James Ibori's 1995 conviction in which evidences were thwarted to frustrate the subsequent case of eligibility to be Delta Governor. Bottom line, the entire system of legal administration in Nigeria is a huge joke! |
BabaOlowo: The Lower Court Trial Judge should be Dismissed! She has shown gross INCOMPETENCE.Which incompetence did she show? If you were born or were alive at the time Sergeant Rogers gave his testimonies about how Al-Mustapha directed them in the murder of Kudirat, the burning of General Akinrinade's property, the attempted murder of Alex Ibru and Sen. Abraham Adesanya, the murder of one socialite woman in Ibadan etc, you would know that his statements were too detailed to be an induced fabrication. Rogers later came back to say he was induced. Don't forget too that the same reason the Appeal court judges mentioned to refuse the admission of the first statements given by Rogers and Katako could also suffice for enough grounds not to believe Rogers was induced to make the first statement because there was no evidence to support the fact that Rogers and the other guy - Katako were induced to lie. The defendants did not show any evidence that the Police offered Rogers money to lie. So the question now is this - Is the fact that Rogers came back many years to say those statements he made (note, he admitted making those statements) were motivated/induced without substantial proof enough ground to dismiss the statements? Please note that many years passed before Rogers denied making the statements. He was in fact walking free at the time and had contact with agents of the defendants who could have induced/threatened him to deny all the damning statements he made at first. The judgment was unduly prolonged and that gave the defendants and his agents enough time to work on Rogers and Katako. Even the appeal court cannot claim that their judgment is fool-proof! Our entire system of legal administration is a joke in this country!!!! |
You see, this judgment and the revelation of poor investigation and evidence gathering by the police are the reasons I laugh at people who continue to believe that Buhari can fight corruption in this country. I still maintain that, with the current judicial system and the Nigerian Police structure, Buhari's military fight against corruption is irrelevant to this age. My previous take on this is on the thread below: https://www.nairaland.com/1313370/jonathan-arrest-buhari-over-inciting/3#16087820 |
So what? How did Amaechi who was Odili's errand boy and became Speaker in 1999 by Odili's influence later become his antagonist in 2007? What goes around comes around dude! |
Is Wole Soyinka God? He has betrayed the confidence most of us had in him. Sometimes we have to put respected people in their place when they cross the boundary of decorum and respect. Wole Soyinka should zip it! He needs proper dosage of flagil for his running mouth!! ^^^^^^^^ I Still maintain that PEJ has no moral justification to talk back at the Prof. Her only portfolio is being the wife of the president. Soyinka has achieved a lot and demands respect. He is one of our national icons and a gift to this nation. He commands more respect outside the shores of this country than PEJ can ever get so she should be the one to zip it... IMO
And that makes him infallible? Wole Soyinka was wrong to have attributed the fracas to Patience! What investigation did he carry out before rushing to conclusions? IS he of the SSS or Police? Does he live in Rivers State? In academics where WS holds so much authority, you cannot make categorical statements like he did in this case without having carried out an experiment to proof his points beyond doubt. WS's disparaging remarks on Patience belittles his status. Its a shame for a man of his status to be making categorical statements based on hearsays and rumor. He's more exposed to know that. |
This Amaechi is a propagandist sha! How come his chronicle of events didn't include the complicity of his Chief od Staff in a murder case as alleged by the CP? How come he - Amaechi who understands the principle of seperation of power went to the assembly complex, not to settle anything but to supervise a thorough beating of a citizen over whom he is Governor whether the person is a legislator or a normal citizen? If I were the CP, that Chief of Staff and Chidi Lloyd would be cooling off behind bars now. Nonsense! And people are so biased in this country that they refused to analyze the situation dispassionately. Even if 5 members out of 32 carried out a kangaroo impeachment of the Speaker of the HOAss, isn't there a court to approach for justice? Are people really endorsing Amaechi's response to the actions of this 5 when they blame GEJ/Patience? Even Wole Soyinka and Falana left the issue and seize opportunity to castigate the President. Our democracy is built on deceit and hypocrisy and it sucks! |
Ovularia: Tinubu expresses surprise over Opeyemi’s suspension from Ekiti Reps CaucusHow can Tinubu express surprise when his son-in-law was among those who suspended the guy? Would his son-in-law have been party to this without consulting Tinubu who is their godfather? Who is Tinubu fooling? I think he is just trying to salvage the situation after hearing from the people on ground in Ekiti that PDP is poised to woo Opeyemi Bamidele and that the guy commands incredible followership that could spell doom for ACN/APC. |
Is the air conditioner now working? That is all visitors care about!!! |
austinkenneth: the big question here is WHAT ARE THE OTHER NASS MEMBERS DOING WITH THEIR CONSTITUENCY ALLOWANCES?...and this is a PDP Senator. What are the "progressive Senators" of APC stock doing for their constituencies? |
Is it that many people here have comprehension problem? Even the LMC spokesman still didn't get the import of the explanation by CAF. What CAF said in their statement is that at the time in December 2012 when Rangers registered their players for the competition, Emmanuel Daniel who was registered as a Rangers player was still a Shooting Stars player as at that time meaning Rangers misrepresented facts to CAF. The league spokesman ignorantly corroborated this when he said the player's paperwork was concluded in April 2013. So the player officially became a Rangers player in April 2013 and not December 2012 as Rangers stated to CAF. So on this basis, the suspension of Rangers was in order. |
ogb5: Tambuwal is the speaker of the house, he was smuggled in as speaker by the opposition with the hope that they can use him to effect some changes, what has he done since assuming that office to bring about real change. The reps are still looting constituency votes, Farouk is still among them, their egos still come ahead of the common good of the citizens.Thank you, I couldn't have said it better. These people know that Nigerians have short memories and they take a free-ride to insult people's intelligence. The rogue was a principal officer of the house during Bankole's tenure and was part of the collective decision to borrow from the Bank to finance the illegal increase in their salary and allowances which they hoped to smuggle into the following year's budget. So sweet of him to be talking of corruption and revolution! |
dayokanu: Yet the same Amricans voted for Obama who was Pro GAY marriage and pro abortionObama said this in 2008: "My opinion on it (homosexualism) is still evolving". He only came out boldly to support gay marriage in 2012 because at that time, they had gained a lot of ground in their advocacy in the US and he would need their block vote. |
movicy: Who care if they are muslim, Are they not nigerian ?Who cares? Seriously? We are battling Boko Haram and you are asking who cares about a supposedly Islamist party? Go have your head checked! Nigeria is not the only country where religion influences people's decision at the polls. Check Egypt, Libya, Germany and even the United States (John Kerry lost to Bush in 2004 principally because of his stance on Homosexualism and abortion. Many orthodox Christians sent sympathy votes the way of Bush. Just recently, some Americans did not vote Romney because he is Mormon). Religion is a big issue please! |
Lai Mohammed nor get work! He seems desperate to be heard always. |
mandarin: Just as an analyst lets look at all possibilities and permutations. The Northwest and Northeast will NOT vote for Jonathan whether he perform or not, its a tribal thing about the Presidency returning to the North and that will persist till then. With the President's support for the Southeast developmental programs(i like it though) he will win massively in the southeast and south south(a strong possibility).Your permutations won't hold. Let us start the analysis from the PDP primaries. Jonathan will clear all the delegates from the South-South, South-East and South-West (S-West PDP all just declared for him, they need money and OBJ can't provide any largess so they are better off with GEJ). Middle-belt PDP will go with Jonathan, all his political appointees from the north will corner some delegates for him because their continued relevance is only assured with him. Putting all this together, Jonathan will win PDP primaries. Now to the general elections which will take place like 5months after the primaries has been decided. That will be enough time for all those dissenting PDP Governors to make up their minds to fall in line for two reasons. Most of them from the north who are in their second term cannot defect from the PDP because they must install a successor, the chance of which is only possible in PDP. They will fall in line and bargain with Jonathan for some concessions which he would readily give. Secondly, if they oppose Jonathan and he wins, they will end up in jail courtesy of EFCC. Those seeking a second term would also find it difficult to defect because they don't know what awaits them in the APC. Defection is difficult for any of them and it is in their best interest that PDP wins the general elections. Jonathan's problem in the general election would be the core north and the South-West. But one thing I'm sure of is that if GEJ completes the Lagos-Ibadan expressway before the election, he will get sizeable sympathy votes from the South-Westerners. Forget all the ACN/PDP propaganda. Yoruba people will never prefer Buhari to Jonathan, never! I am a Yoruba man and I know that what the people want is a good reason to vote Jonathan and the completion of that expressway will provide that readily. Jonathan will sweat in the general election, no doubt but he would gather enough support to get majority votes. |
I'm honestly not angry with the loss. Safe for our strikers - Ideye, Akpala, Babatunde, other players came to the party. They played well but just lacked bites. Keshi should roll up his sleeves! There is much work to be done before the world cup and luckily its a year away. The strength of any team is the depth of its bench. Today we didn't have Moses, Emenike and Onasi and it showed clearly. Ideye, Ujah, Akpala and Babatunde are not even bench materials and should never wear our green white jersey again! |
Its time to look for a new club now he needs Nigeria. Well, if he makes a public apology on twitter, facebook, 7 national newspapers...em em what else, NFF and Keshi should see him like the small boy that he is and forgive him. Everyone makes mistake at one point or the other. |
ruledworld: I have come to realised that people of Southern Nigeria hate Buhari with great passion. Whatever he says is turned upside down, even his breathing is a bomb threat to some southerners. Not only on Nairaland forum, but everywhere Southerners discuss about politics, Buhari is the evil man. WhyBecause he is fulani-centric and a religious bigot. No matter how he tries to hide it, the fulani's stubborn and "born to rule" mentality becomes apparent in his conduct. He is not about any other agenda but the fulanis! Southerners know those who love them and Buhari doesn't number among them. |
Brilliance9000: A lot of Nigerians; I'm saddened to say till this very moment, don't know why Abiola was not allowed to rule Nigeria. IBB, Abacha and the military had intelligence that he was a foreign agent and poised to sell this nation to the globalists who made him billionaire. The military didn't annul the election unilaterally, remember; they had leaders from Northern, Western and Eastern Nigeria at the Villa and relayed to them the intelligence they got on Abiola and all these leaders, unanimously voted to support the annulment of the election. This wasn't something IBB did alone; he consulted widely. The truth will be out soon!Complete fabrication. If that was the case, why do you think this is a difficult thing for IBB to explain? The version of the story I heard and believe is the Abiolaa betrayal of trust as regards Samuel Doe's loot and the fact that IBB could no longer trust him to facilitate his second return immediately after Abiola's tenure.IBB never wanted to leave but then thoughthe could trust Abiola to ensure his 2nd coming. Much like what Putin did in Russia. He planned to make Abiola a stop-gap and realized too late that Abiola won't be a stooge. He just couldn't trust Abiola anymore so he came up with the excuse that boys in khaki were angry and would assassinate MKO if he handed over to him. Anyone who has read Shehu Yar'adua's interview after the annulment would understand. When IBB cleared the way for Abiola in the primaries, Yar'adua warned Abiola to be sure that he's convinced IBB wanted to leave. People in the military knew IBB didn't really want to leave. The annulment was all about IBB's much desired 2nd coming! |
