The Nigerian military (officer cadre) is difficult to get into. I think same applies to other military forces all over the world. Na recruit cadre dem dey recruit everyone.

Should I say you are kidding me? Don't you see the numbers that graduates every year after short service enlightenment? My class mate never believed in joining army. Believe me, He took me there because the lady that directed me on how to meet the General asked me to go with someone that can speak Hausa to one of his boys. Besides, these Generals are powerful and can put anyone there if they want.

You think so? I am not confuse. I'm only going for what I believe in. Nigeria is my country and she is worth dying for.
As a matter of fact, I am very much willing to apply again if there is another window for SSC/DSSC

Politics / How Realistic Is The CDS, General Christopher Musa's Call On Japa? (Photo) by Xinox: 7:21pm On Dec 26, 2023
Dear CDS – Gen. Musa Christopher Gwabin,
I have been hiding from insults by fellow Nairalands to share my ugly experience but today, I am not going to mind insults after reading your call.
I missed going abroad in belief to stay and fight for Nigeria with envidence of what I am sharing here today.
My dream to join the Nigerian Military with good knowledge of Science, artificial intelligence, and data Governance became a mess after leaving an insecurred driving job in 2020.
Since 2020, I have been applying for short service courses and recently I had a bitter experience with one of the previous enlistments where two of us that graduated from the year met this General for assistance. I let go of my admission abroad because I was 💯 sure of my enlightenment but to my greatest shock, I was not enlisted. Though I refused to agree with people around me that, " it's because the other guy is a Muslim". Why? because Muslims also help christians. Just been positive but inside of me I could sense bias b'cos my result was even better.

My questions to you still remain:

1. How can youth/ people stay back and fight for Nigeria when to secure jobs in this country is war and even the hope of joining the military is not considered after all military recruitments are based on tribal, ethnical, and religious sentiments?

2. How can we believe in Nigeria when jobs in this country is been shared by the elite class among their children and relations?

3. In your position as the CDS, since you came into office, has there been a call for SSC/DSSC? : The recent one I saw was for NAVY yet it was for Engineering graduates– how about those that read other courses but are willing to join?

4. Are you not aware that Nigeria has become a crime scene and many are willing to leave because of they lost hope in getting engaged in jobs that can keep them busy?

I know, few good people are reading this post right now. I shall come back on this platform to tell the whole world if anyone can help me join short service.

I am very much willing to join any of the Nigerian armed forces. This is my passion, not #money. If you decide to give me millions today and military service, I will still choose #Military.

NB*
Kindly send me a message in my Nairaland email and we will connect if you are willing to help but I have no money to bribe my passion if you have intentions to ask for money before helping me.
Thank you.

Politics / Re: Henry Ajomale: Buhari Left Huge Mess For Tinubu – Ex-Lagos APC Chairman by Xinox: 6:06pm On Dec 24, 2023
nairalanda1:
I am not here to defend APC. or attack PDP

The current hardship we are experiencing IS very simple. We are trying to build a welfare economy on a thin revenue base. We are trying to use one source of income to pay for something that needs twenty sources or more of income to pay for.

Nigeria has always been in economic crisis ever since I was a child....and everytime all the experts said the same thing...we rely on one source of income and we need to diversify. The truth is, every Nigerian leader does patch patch because the alternative involves severe economic hardship.

Industrialization would help us grow very well. Very well. But the truth is, all industrial countries went through hardship to get to developed state...whether UK, Russia, South Korea, Japan, etc...all went through hardship to get there. So we pretend the money is enough and stealing commenceth.

Yes, corruption. Tinubu is corrupt, so also all the predecessor governments before him (remember the ten percenters of Nzeogwu's speech. They never went away...they are still there). Because when you run an economy like Nigeria where the division of revenue is controlled at one spot...and no, true federalisim won't change that...the stealing by those close to the division of funds is going to happen. It does not matter which government we put there, stealing will happen. Add the fact that Nigerians just want their side to take over, and control the looting...which is why we cannot have anyone holding government to account at all...and here we are.

And God knows if we divide Nigeria, we would end up with little Nigerias....all of them as corrupt as each other.

We better change ourselves.
Gbam! Pls sir, how will I learn from you. Apart from #Davido, you are another person I would like to meet

Should I keep quiet? No! let me talk where it's pinching me. Sir, you were Lagos state APC chairman, quietly enjoying your palliatives during Buhari region, now it's PBAT, you are shifting goal post. We know how Nigeria was taken aback so tell us something new because If Buhari was still the president and you are still the APC chairman, you won't say what you are saying.

Ok Mr Putin we have heard and also let me put it straight to you that "A power drunk Putin poisoned and killed ex-KGB officer in UK.

"A power drunk Putin attacked Ukraine and still killing Ukrainian till date"

Charcoal calling kettle black.

All these people didn't like us. So I am not even supporting him. I only used his pointing accusing fingers to establish that, our leaders if wise will just calm down and build Nigeria we want. We won't be running here and there for greener pastures

You may be saying this from experience so I won't completely say. However, may be your first words would have been congratulations.

But your words are deep. In Nigeria today, it has become very hard for someone to help you behind the scenes. Eyes service is what is killing Nigerians. This was why I was agreeing with Nigerian first Lady the other day, "She said, Rich Nigerians should help the poor ones...". People were provoked but it's true. Until we start helping others, struggling Nigerians not felt the love we preach. Instead for you to give them fish, teach them to catch fish. Give a help with an opportunity to get in positions for employment to make money by themselves no matter how small it may be.

I commend her for this act–given back to the society

Nairaland / General / The Power Drunk NATO & US Kill Gaddafi–putin by Xinox: 1:21pm On Dec 24, 2023
Who asked NATO and US to kill Gaddafi?
Gaddafi was killed by rebels backed by NATO and US in 2011, but before Gaddafi was killed, Libya was one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. Nearly everything was free –Putin, Russian President.

This is the reason I am not personally attracted to this Japa syndrome. It doesn't just motivate me. US, Canada, Uk etc don't love Africans. They are only interested in our rich mineral resources.
History never forgets, Libyan economy under Gaddafi was competing with the Western world and Gaddafi was canvassing for the state of united Africa. Today, Libya is a war zone with a debt trap of of over $33.6 billion as of 2021 or 83.3% GDP.

This is the same way US and NATO are using Zelensky and the Ukraine against largely efficient artilleries of Mr. Putin and the Russian federation when they themselves cannot confront Russia. The moment Ukraine and Zelensky start drowning, US and NATO will dump them in the middle of the river.

Dear Nigerian youth, it is not rosey completely in US, Canada or anywhere. There is no place like home. My sincere prayers is for PBAT and our leaders to help build Nigeria we need. No country will build Nigeria for us rather than creating chaos.

#Happy Holidays🙏🏽

Family / Re: We Are Expecting A Baby But My Wife Wants Me To Buy Christmas Rice For Her Mom by Xinox: 11:56pm On Dec 23, 2023
Klass99:
You are making a very sensible decision and I applaud you for it. You didn't have to lie about being broke sha, you would have told her hoha everything you said here. If she wants a bag of rice so badly for her mother let her make it happen from her own pocket and bank account na.

I say this as a woman who is sick and tired of seeing men on this forum behave like sissies, allowing their wives/women, to dictate or run things anyhow. For example, she mounts pressure on you for a 3rd or 4th child and you succumb, she mounts pressure about japa/relocation, you succumb and start running yourselves into financial debt, she mistreats the help and you stay silent, claiming women are powerful like that or some sort of nonsense to that effect which you people say.

I read comments at times by male users and think to myself when will some of these jackasses, be the men that they were created to be and lead their households right? You do the heavy financial lifting but allow someone to add to that financial burden with an extra child, an extra mouth to feed and more school fees to pay, when there was nothing wrong with the two kids you had already.

Children are expensive and you are preparing well for your first child, don't allow anyone derail you from that plan. Is it not the same rice we have been eating since the beginning of the year? What is now special about a bag of rice for Xmas? I really hate the pressures people mount on themselves and others during this season, we have turned the whole matter into something else.

Meanwhile I have a bag of 50kg rice for sale at 50k grin.

Op, I think you see women with brain and better thinking. Any reasonable woman should think with her head and assist in times like this than pushing you unnecessarily

Offpointng:

But OP you did not try, you have a whooping sum of 1.7m I see no reason why you shouldn't allow ur mother in law have atleast 1m outta the money. and since the budget for the baby is 400k, you'd be left with 300k. Man you'll still have alot at ur disposal

Why? Won't the mother eat? Won't the mother take care of herself after delivery?
Let's be realistic by guiding people rightly. There is nothing bad buying rice for the mother-in-law but giving her 1m? Please don't push the young man. I.7m will be like 700k by the time he start spending from that money. Please follow your mind but after all of that, remember to treat your mother-in-law well when she visits for the child birth

The black horse is riding rough shod over Nigeria yet this sorceress is confidently spewing lies. How I wish Nigerians could discern what she is really saying. What she is saying is that the wicked powers whom she represents will glory in the amplification of poverty ,death and demoralisation of Nigerians next year. Take heed for yourselves

Op, I think what she is saying is not bad in this context. When we believe, things get better, it will! Let those that are rich are in position help others too. Let them help the young graduates when they are openings for jobs. I mustn't be from your family, Community or state. I will also advise first lady to have a pillow talk with her husband. As a wife and first lady, she knew the masses are going through alot. Even me that's typing this will not be celebrating Christmas 🎄.
The sad reality is that hungry man na angry man but let's continue to pray for Nigeria.

NB** They are here reading all our comments. They ( our leaders) know what we are going through. We can't have a better place than Nigeria, so, now that you are in driving seats, drive us well.

I dedicate, "Mr. President" by #African China to #PBAT
