Good afternoon my people,
Please what advise can you give someone who already have visitor visa and is looking to convert to work or study permit based on the current reality of happenings in Canada.
For Work Permit:
Get a job with LMIA: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/visit-to-work.html
It is common in small Provinces or small cities, you should move their first when arriving.
You can use job bank to start your search: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/jobsearch/jobsearch?fsrc=32
Read, research and digest.
Good luck.

I would not have schooled as much as I did. I would've put Christianity and religion in the thrash can where it belongs much earlier than I did. I would've taken more risks. I would've learnt a lot more skills. I would've told Motunde how I felt about her but she traveled before I could summon the courage to cuz I was a novice, next time I saw her she's married with kids....... I then told her how I felt about her and she said she definitely would've said yes to me had I asked
I would've bought Facebook shares or created Facebook. I would've bought cryptocurrency

All in all these are what makes life meaningful and changing anything in the past changes everything. for instance taking more risks might've lead to my death or my being incapacitated or maybe I'd be better for it I guess we'd never know

Good day everyone , hope we are all hail and hearty.
After waiting for 3 months for my refusal GCMS notes, it came this month.

Below is the summary of the note:

1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of yours stay, as stipulated in 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit
2. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in the subsection 216(1) of IRPR, based on your personal asset and financial status.
3. The applicant is seeking to study in the colleague certificate program at Sault College in Canada; the applicant holds a bachelor degree in Electronics and Computer Tech. She has been working since 2016/03. The study plan does not appear reasonable given the applicant’s employment and education history. I note that: the clients proposed studies are not reasonable given the career path.
4. Taking the applicant’s plan of studies into account, the document provided in support of the applicant’s financial situation does not demonstrate that funds would be sufficient or available.
I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense
Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will adhere to the terms and conditions imposed as a temporary resident.

Also for proper context, here is my application profile.

Program I applied for: Automated Manufacturing(graduate certificate)

Occupation: System Admin in an IT firm
Funding: Personal Acc. Balance: 10M, sponsor account balance: 8M , Paid 60 percent of the tuition fee upfront.

This was exactly what the VO gave me in my 1st application that got denied.

My only advice is to write a very convincing LOE ...also have sufficient money that would pay your first year school fees and living expenses. Then ultimately add God. Cos personally i didnt add my statement of account, or any new documents...some gurus can help you with LOE
Thanks alot for your feed back.

I actually have sufficient funds in my account, 8m and my elder brother sponsoring me also has sufficient fund.
How did your letter of explanation go? and have they responded to you on your second application.
Thanks.

Good morning everyone

Over the last one hour
I have been able to look at the fact sheets for some of the investment houses thag offer mutual funds for discerning investors to put in their money

Specifically
I was looking into the Stanbic IBTC Bond Fund and the Guaramteed Investment Fund

I think I took a quick glance at AXA equity fund as well...

Because these investment houses got into the money market party much earlier and for a longer term period

They are better positioned to keep their YoY returns FAR ABOVE what the T Bill's have to offer

Based on this
I will recommend (not a blanket endorsement o, just a recommendation) that those who are new to this investment thing and have low risk tolerance should consider pitching their tent with one of them......

It is also my belief that the equities ship has sailed for those who were looking for bargains

Though an opportunity may present itself again

As for T Bill's
Dear brothers and sisters
Let's leave Mr. T Bill's on the bench for now
Pending when his fortunes change
Thanks alot for your insight.
What is the minimum amount to invest and what is the the yield like.

On the other hand, please does any one know what the TB market in other countries like America and Europe are like, or even South Africa. What is the requirement and their returns like.

Their was an error in my WAEC date of birth(different from my international passport date of birth). Do I need to explain this in the SOP?
I have sufficient transaction and balance(8M) for six months in my personal account(different from my salary account). Do I need to explain the source of funds because I already have a sponsor.

It was suspended? When your LOA was sent did you read the instructions? Most times they'll ask you to pay a certain amount from $500 - $2,000 (depends on your school) to secure your spot for classes usually with 30days Max. Maybe you didn't meet up. if you proceed with your study permit application it may not end in praises cause when they contact your school they'll be informed if the suspension. Your best bet is to email your school to reinstate your admission while you pay the fees and late fees inclusive or best-bet, defer it to January 2021.
The suspension is due to covid-19 pandemic, and its a general suspension of intake of the program. Other terms are still ongoing.
Am just at a cross road since the school has not responded on if I should proceed with study visa or not.

Good Morning guys, please I need you advice.
I got admitted to PGD Industrial Automation starting this Fall September. I got a mail from the school some days back that my program intake has been suspended, the deadline to pay my tuition is tomorrow June 15th.
I have mail the school if I should continue my study permit in-view that the program will resume intake later-on but have not gotten response yet.
I want to continue the visa processing(meaning I have to pay the fees), but I am not sure how the status of the program will affect the application.
Please your candid advice will be appreciated.

Bro, I believe that some dedicated people took time to write out an SOP structure at the beginning of this thread. You can find how to use subheadings to explain and link your documents in your SOP. Secondly, your personal account, what is the source of that money ? Do you have a freelance job or side hustle apart from your main job? Finally, since your job is not closely related with your intended course? What was your previous bsc and your current job description ?
Thanks for your insight.
Yes, I do some webdevelopment and some buying and selling side hustle, but my brother have also been building that account for my study(even though he will sponsor me).
I am currently a system Admin in a Webhosting company in Nigeria, I have a BSC in Electronics and Computer Technology.

If you are seeking for people's advice then you should give full details of your case and stop keeping your cards to your chest. Telling us your area of specialization at the moment won't invade your privacy, so kindly tell us that.
If we don't have a clear picture of your case then how can we give precise answers.
That aside, if you tell the vo you are working then you need to show proof of that and you can only do that by showing your ID, payslip/SOA showing your salary enters the account, employment letter, leave letter(depending on what you are saying in your SOP)
My bad, thanks for your candid input.
I have a BSC in Electronics and Computer Technology, am currently working as a system admin in a Webhosting company in Nigeria.
My fear is that my current job earnings will not make a strong case for home ties.
Trueth be told, I don't really want to be permanent based in Canada, the program I believe will open up a lot of opportunities for me.
Thanks once again for your time.

Good Morning happy people.

I want to say a very big thank you to everybody that has been contributing to this thread. It has been immensely helpful.

I got admission into PGD in Industrial automation starting September in Ontario Colleague.

My concern is linking my SOP with my documents: I am currently employed with a job related to my course of study(not closely related.) but my monthly pay is not up to 100k. On the other hand, I have a personal account that have a good money flow and currently about 5m balance.

Now should I include my current employment letter and pay slip in the document submitted or should I only include the account statement for my personal account. I am trying to make a good case for home tie.

I am being sponsored by my elder bother who works for an oil company, his account balance and property is ok to sponsor me.

Thanks Nairalanders your candid advice will be appreciated.

What I actually want to do is to create a nitche for singlets manufacturing in Nigeria.
